  1. "No it was not me," Dragonid shook his head, "Kharag, King of the Za'akis did most of this damage with his bare fists, a mighty blow, filled with righteous fury. If I had not stopped him he would have torn this cyborg even further apart and wrecked any chance we might have of getting information from it." He looked with disgust at the cyborg, almost regretting that he had takent he effort to save it. "If there's any way to pull information from what is left of its brain, we should try it. That may save more lives, and it will help save this alliance."
  2. Charlie sighed as he "heard" Synapse report the incoming fighters, then started babbling at Foreshadow. "This is it, I guess. Sitting and waiting for the enemy is always the hardest part. It's not so bad once the action starts and you don't have time to think any more." "Have to admit, though, thinking about the aircraft up there, while I was stuck on the ground always made me nervous. Even when I knew the aircraft were on our side. We've all gotta look like ants to them, how can they tell we're ants in the right color uniforms?" He looked down at his blue giant costume, "Not that we're even in uniforms this time."
  3. Are there any tall buildings around, maybe the air traffic control tower? For now, going to delay along with Foreshadow until something gets near the door they're protecting.
  4. Dragonid watched the expert point out all the technical features of the cyborg. He didn't understand any of it, but he tried to look attentive. This pile of junk was his only lead. There must be something here that would take them to the next step. "If this is not the usual way to make a cyborg, do you know who would do it like this? Who could do it? Or why? Relations with the Za'akis are dependent on finding the source of this assassin, and stopping any further attacks." He picked up a fallen implant and looked it over. "Is there some way to tell who built these parts?"
  5. Dragonid shook his head, turning his back on the departing Mohnak as he tried to compose himself. Finally, to the question he responded, "That was utter foolishness. On his part and on mine. Disarming a situtation is not one of my talents. But I did not think allowing you to force him to march off would have defused things either. An unfortunate situation, but for now it is contained." With a last deep breath, he headed off to follow the peacekeepers. "We need to find the source of this assassination attempt as soon as possible, before this alliance goes up in flames."

  7. Ok, then just going to light up the room and ready an action to taze the garrote again if he shows himself.
  8. "You have a killer in your museum, Mr. Bittman." Charlie called back over his shoulder as he illuminated the hallway in a shower of sparks. "I suggest you get yourself to safety. I'll handle him before someone else gets hurt, or killed." He looked around himself nervously. Too many places to hide here, too easy for the garrote to get the jump on him. But he scanned the room as best he could, hoping for a chance to at least strike back when the killer attacked. If he doesn't get that loop over my neck first.
  9. Is there a relatively open area of the museum, to get as much space between him and statues and corners, etc as possible?
  10. Notice Check: 1d20+6 18 Not bad, but not good enough.
  11. "Pirates" scoffed Dragonid, "Cowardly scum. But with those numbers they may be a problem." He looked over the holoimage with the others. Their plan seemed sensible. "I am not skilled at a stealthful entrance, so I will volunteer to be in the frontal attack, as intimidating and distracting as possible." "If we worry about the pirates fleeing, maybe we should concentrate on captuing the laser batteries. We could turn them against the pirates themselves if they attempt to launch spacecraft and escape."
  12. Did he hear a breath in his hear at the last moment? Catch a bit of moving shadow out of the corner of his eye? Charlie wasn't sure how he knew, but just as the cable was coming down over his head, he ducked stumbled forward and spun to face his attacker. There wasn't much light to see, but he could see enough. This had to be the Garrote. Or whoever was pretending to be the Garrote. The whip turned on (Charlie wasn't sure if he did it or not) but he turned up all the sparks and lashed out at the masked man. As the tip of the whip cracked against the killer's chest, it delivered a high-voltage shock, coursing through the garotte's body and leaving him momentarily disoriented. Coiled Lightning breathed heavily and looked his attacker over. "You know I have to put a stop to this." he said. "Let's just make it easy."
  13. Charlie smiled nervously, <Good luck indeed. We've got quite a task set out for us. Let's have a look at these planes we're protecting.> He waited for the others to start moving. This was going to be a tricky fight for him, these Communion didn't sound like the kind of enemy you wanted to let close, and unless he could rejigger the whip he didn't have near the range for comfort. Foreshadow looks like a guy who can watch my back at least, he thought. Together we're stronger than as individuals, we can do this.
  14. Going to attempt to use my tazer effect to stun the garrote Stun Attack: 1d20+8 28 Critical Hit! That's DC 21 Fort check
  15. Dragonid took the claw and examined it. "No tricks, it is an affront to my honor that you even need to say it." He took Mohnak's arm and cut a gash as the Za'aki asked, letting the blood drip to the ground.. Then the dragon-man returned it and extended his own arm for Mohnak to shed his blood in return. This had not gone the way he had wished, but he had no more time to argue. "If we are done, then be gone and let me return to important matters. I am doing my best to repair the breach in Delaztri responsibilities to your people."
  16. Neither of those are all that great... well, let's see what happens. Another Stealth Check: 1d20+2 8 Notice Check: 1d20+6 13
  17. Dragonid nodded at the second Za'aki, acknowledging his mistake. He was so tired of this mess, he was no longer thinking straight. "But fighting your brother warrior will accomplish no more than fighting me." With a mighty sigh, he walks directly up to Mohnak. "You have issued a challenge, among my people the one who accepts the challenge can pick the time and place. I accept your challenge on those terms. The fight will be tommorow, after we have sovled this myster. If what you needs is a fight, I give it to you." He looked around at the peacekeepers and the other Za'aki. "The challenge is publicly issued, accepted and witnessed. Now disperse, or you WILL be arrested for interfering in this investigation." He raised his hand to the peacekeepers, prepared to signal them to action.
  18. "You could fight me now, and yes that would be simple." Dragonid did not know what he found more infuriating, the insults and accustations of this drunken fool or the fact that he was the only one here to be the diplomat. Like these men, he was a fighter, not a talker, he wanted to surrender to the urge accept the challenge, but feared to provoke war. He tried one last attempt at diplomacy. "But would it lead you to whoever hired these assassins? Would it prevent the next attack?" "You are right I would rather find someone to fight, rather than waste time arguing with you. I would rather take the fight to the assassins, to destroy their employer and avenge your brothers. I would rather try to address the empire's failures." He looked specifically at the second Za'aki. "If you value hospitatilty, you will help me. Am I not the guest of your King. Does that not make me YOUR guest. Help me and I will find you a worthy fight."
  19. Dragonid gritted his teeth at the insults, commiting to his plan to not start the fight himself. Then he felt the heat from the belch behind him, the flames cracklng over him singing and charring his scale. He heard the peacekeepers raise their weapons. He had forgotten about them. If had worried that a duel with Mohnak would start a war, Peacekeepers firing on unarmed Za'aki would do it even more certainly. "No!" he roared as he spun around. Raising his hands he grabbed the fire out of the air, expanded it and formed a wall between the peacekeepers and the Za'aki. "Do not fire on him. If he wants a fight it will be with me alone. But it will not be now."
  20. Dodging Fire Burp: 1d20+9 15 Resisting Fire Burp: 1d20+10 24 Don't think he had any bruises
  21. Dragonid glared at Mohnak with contempt and prepared to shout him down again. But the other Za'aki's words rung true, giving in to the anger in the heat of the moment might stop Mohnak, but it would just bring further discord. Still, the fires burned hot within him, it was not easy to stand down, though he knew he should. "Hold him back for his own good, he is not worth a fight right now. I will fight him when he is sober if he likes." He turned back to the cyborg, knowing he was exposing his back to Mohnak. He was not proud to admit that he half hoped Mohnak would take the opportunity to attack.
  22. "I am the personal guest of your king. That was my purpose here. Now my purpose is putting a stop to these assassins. If doing that requires me to beat down a drunken fool of a scaleless whelp I will do so. But Kharag will hear of how you hindered me when I am done with you. What do you think HE will do with you?" flicks of spittle dripped from Dragonid's lips as he shouted at the Za'aki. "Now do I get back to my task? Or do you want to fight right now? Ask your friends what you should do. I honestly do not care any more." He glared and waited for an answer.
