  1. SHOCKED by Thevshi Coiled Lightning Spending 3 of his points, saving 1 for later. Add 1 point (4 ranks) each in Gather Information and Search Add a point to Will Save. Also, I made a mistake in the DC block. The whip is Damage 6, so should only be DC 21. Can you add his picture to the description?
  2. Lightning stopped and extended a hand. He hesitated a moment, unsure what the liquid hand would feel like, but then reached over and grabbed it firmly. "I'm Coiled Lightning. I haven't been at this for very long, either. Trying to make a name for myself. It had been eating at me for weeks that I let these creeps escape, so when I heard they'd been seen involved in several break-ins around these parts, I just needed to come track them down." He opened up the van to have a look inside, "That big guy does quite pack a punch on him. Maybe that's why I couldn't forget him."
  3. Craft(Electronic) = 1d20+9=17
  4. "With that sort of a welcome, I am tempted to leave these fools to the Communion. They will find no pricey cargo there, either." Dragonid grunted. "But we know they will not stick around to defend this planet." "Which of these ships do I burn a hole in to get their attention?"
  5. Coiled Lightning turned off his whip and leaned back against the wall to catch his breath. "Well, we need to take everyone down to the police. I guess we can see if the van will still run. Or should we have a look to see what they were stealing first? Can't imagine these two were just here to steal televisions." He hopped off the edge of the loading dock and went over to look at the van, to see if it was still drivable after its crash. "Really good work back there." he called back to Liquify, "I faced off against Slice and his goon before and took a beating, it helps a lot to have someone watching your back."
  6. Charlie grunted from the big thug's solid punch. Nothing broken, he didn't think, but it enough to knock him off his overconfident streak. "Ok, Liquify. Good work stopping the van. We just have to wrap this guy up, and drag everyone down to the station." Charlie edged the power on the whip up, feeling it start to hum and vibrate, jerking his hand around. He flipped it again across the big thug's chest, leaving a burnt mark across shirt. "You know how this is going to end, big guy. Let's do it the easy way."
  7. Power attacking for 2. DC 23 1d20+6=10 Going to hero point that: 1d20+6=15 Less than 10 on that roll, so should be 25 to hit.
  8. Dragonid leaped out the airlock behind Moon Moth. The red scaled humanoid with the bestial head roared at with the pleasure of flight, though no one outside his bubble could hear him. The wings on his jetback unfolded to their full breadth, and he jetted off, looping around the starship a few times, before coming to rest between his ship and the lone stranger. He mimicked the gesture back at him. Either he had no functioning coms, or he didn't understand the Traveller. Either way, he didn't seem hostile. But pirate ships are the bigger concern, he thought. They outnumbered the Praetorians, sure, but pirates are not known to be the greatest fighters, and had notoriously bad morale. Still, any losses here, on either side, meant less strength to face the Communion.
  9. 1d20+7=21 Taking a bruise
  10. "Well it looks like somebody has seen us." said Dragonid, looking at the figure floating in front of the ship. "No obvious weapons, not that that means much, no hostile motions, though. I assume he wants to speak with us." He looked to his companions for ideas how to make contact, but before they could do anything, the pirates began moving. "Cannot say the same about them, though. I think we need to prepare for battle." Dragonid was not a spokesman or negotiator. Most often when he tried to be diplomatic, he made matters worse. But he doubted the slickest silver tongue could talk them out of this situation. They had come here to fight the Communion, not pirates, but a warrior did not always get to pick his battles. He pulled on his winged jetpack, tightened the harness and activated his atmospheric bubble. "What is our plan?"
  11. "No, I said LEAVE the van," Charlie yelled at the retreating vehicle. He considered chasing it, but it would quickly outpace him. Besides, we wasn't really concerned with the small fry. He was here to settle his score with Slice and big ugly. He really must have an actual name. Shouldn't take long to take him down Liquify and I work together, he thought. With a big green he advanced on the big thug, swinging hard and leaving himself overextended. The electric whip wrapped around the thug's body but he merely shrugged it aside with a grunt. "Even tougher than I thought," Lightning muttered.
  12. Going to put 3 in all-out-attack and power-attack on the big thug. CL's just asking to get hit, now. So defense down to 4. Damage DC up to 24 1d20+8=12
  13. Coiled Lightning was excited to get to work, helping the building crue assemble the basic structures. He spent a lot of time chatting with the veterans, swapping stories about the army and listening with sympathy about their injuries and the problems at the VA. He had to leave out key details to keep his identity hidden, but provided enough to convince them of his authenticity. After the Haunted Warehouse's structure and tracks were laid out, Coiled Lightning took upon himself the design of one of the rooms. He set up a room like Dr. Frankenstein's lab, using one of the Freedom League's captured robots as the creature. As the carts moved through the room, lab equipment would explode in a shower of sparks, and the creature would rise to grab at the guests. He was also sure to set up plenty of black lights around the place, intended to highlight his new variant costume, a much darker blue that would blend better in the dark, with black-light sensitive patches shaped like bones adhered on it. He took every suggestion Butch or Grim made to heart, doing his best to impress, but excited as well to be helping out worthy charities.
  14. "I must admit", he told Kharag quiety, "Our foodstuffs were less dangerous. The challenge of the hunt was more one of speed, or sometimes your fellow hunters." Dragonid accepted the goblet and sniffed at it, immediately snorting with disgust. He hoped the Za'akis did not recognize that reaction. "I see they have brought the good brew!" he said loudly to Kharag in a show of bravado, and took a drink from the goblet. Liquid leaked out of the sides of his mouth (his people were not neat eaters) as he choked the liquid down.
  15. Dragonid looked at the glowing nebula and the magnetar. Astronomy wasn't his field. He was still amazed to think that many of the stars in the skies continued their own worlds with their own people, but the stars themselves did not hold much beauty for him. But even he had to admit the colors were nice. "It would be a shame if this beauty watches over the death of another planet." He said, grimly, then motioned toward the other ships in system. "This does not look like an army capable of repelling the Communion, but I guess it is all we have." He looked toward his companions, "Do we attempt to make contact?"
  16. Dragonid heartily agreed, "As soon as we can get out of this place and into action the better. Any information not tainted by the Curator's systems will comfort me. And with luck, that information will give us what we need to destroy that weapon." He looked to Moon Moth and the others Amara had assigned him, "When do we leave? There are communion waiting to be burnt to cinder."
  17. "Well met, Nekshar." Dragonid said, "I am honored." He looked to Kharag "Slime wine?" he asked, "What do you make that from?" He knew he would have to drink some for appearances. The thought made him nervous. He remembered the first time he had eaten when he first left his planet. It took time to get used to. And he had heard warnings about what the Za'akis called food.
  18. Star Trek like transporters (or Cable's Bodysliding)? To get those members who can't fly on to the enemy ship
  19. "I'd like to see those droids", Coiled Lightning said, excitedly, "I've seen the League fight that kind of thing, and I've always wondered what they look like up close. Or inside." "Perfect thing to pop out at a cart full of kids, too. We'll have better animatronics than Disneyworld." He looked started by the appearance of the Rat. "Nice to meet you, Rat. You came to help with the haunted house?" he said, trying to provide the words she was looking for. The Rat was certainly the strangest thing he'd seen so far in his brief career, he hoped he wasn't being condescending, he was pretty sure she could rip his arms off if he got her mad.
  20. Charlie wrote back to the detective that he can come in after closing hours. He hoped he could finish up with the cars in the garage early and get back on the case. Hopefully no more murders would go down before nighttime. Though night was coming on earlier and earlier these days. He rolled up his sleeves and dived in to the engine in front of him. What could this all mean, anyway? Was that cloak more than just evidence about the identity of the garrote? Would whoever had the cloak be driven to carry on the same murders? It didn't make sense. He hoped the police had found some more leads so that he could put an end to all this.
  21. While the thug tried to help Slice to his feet, Coiled Lightning moved in to press his advantage against the reeling criminal. The electrical lash ripped across Slice's chest, delivering a series of loud bright sparks and dropping the criminal to the ground. With another flick of Charlie's wrist the whip danced up toward the nearby thug, but he ducked away before the whip could connect. The hero smiled anyway, "He's just going to slow you down and you'll both wind up in jail. Leave the van and go home."
  22. If I can do a takedown on the thug who was trying to help Slice escape... 1d20+4=6 I will miss. Lucky punk
  23. Going to try to put Slice down for the count. Damage with 4 points of power attack 1d20+4=19 DC 25.
  24. "I do not like this place and would be off it as soon as possible, if we even have a ship capable of taking out of here" said Dragonid. "I think our best plan is to seek out the survivors of the fallen Lor world. If they saw the weapon in action, maybe they could give us a clue on how to rip it to shreds. Otherwise we may just find ourself on a world with a target on our heads like the Lor did." He looks to Amara, "I will follow where you lead, burn any enemies before us to a crisp, but I would prefer if we learned what we needed to win."
