  1. GM The head was silenced, and it looked very much like the mighty crococonda could not speak inthe first place. It did a very good hiss, though. And the constriction of its coils spoke volumes. As in, they caused the volume of space to reduce. Lamentably, there was someone in that volume of space, and that person was Golden Star! Would his ribs crack under the strain?.... And the Crococonda took a good look at Blackstaff. And licked its crocodile lips!
  2. the Head is silenced But Crococonda is still alive! As GS is bound, CC will simply squeeze as a move action, meaning a DC 25 Toughness for our young hero! CC will also try a move action intimidate at Blackstaff. 11 is not spectacular.
  3. Gamma Buzz "You bet! Wheeeee!" yelled Gamma Buzz as he flew through the air with the greatest of speed. This is great! Must be what flying is like! Whizzing through the clouds, not a care in the world! Watching the scenery go by! Amazing! Wait.... Wasn't I meant to be doing something! Whoopsie! Baz drew his fist back at the last moment. KER-POW!!! It was true, he hit his target. It was more of a collision than a punch and ended up with Gamma Buzz spinning through the air and landing anwardly on his head. Although he did spin elegantly like a break dancer. And his fist did connect, with with the force of a hurled cockroach-kid!
  4. Nauseate "Checks" has always been somewhat unclear (perhaps something for the Refteam to nail down) - skills, opposed powers presumably yes. Saves, and the checks for things like all out movement and suffocation, not so clear. Anyway. Lets go for a charge! 19 If that hits, its a DC 23 Tough.
  5. Haven "Oh? You wish to enter but are not on the white list?" If that was so, there was room for an alliance - of sorts. The Woodsman appeared more like a scarecrow than a tin man, but still... "Perseverance is admirable, but I think your chipping away to enter will take more time than you would like. Why do you want to enter anyway?" Was the program on some kind of time schedule? If so... "There may be other ways to enter, you know..." A phrase laden with devious insinuation.
  6. Starshot "It looks like it..." replied Starshot, shooting Doctor Archeville a look. He muted the mic for a moment. "A cave. Ripe for ambush and traps. And not just some web spinning arachnid. This is going to get dirty... and I still don't trust this new Kahn." He unmuted the mic. "Boots on the ground then. See you in a moment." Starshot put on his belt, hung his machete in its sheath, and checked his rifle's power cells. Fully operational. He clipped in five web shells into the under barrel, nodding in satisfaction. Finally he put on his helmet, which hummed into life, providing him an HUD full of tactical information and advanced sensor arrays. "Let the hunt begin," he intoned. "Although the devil only knows what we are hunting..." With that, he opened the ATV door...
  7. 21 for the Baz'ters reflex. With evasion that means he is safe. So I think Baz will delay action as suggested and Ill post IC as the punch.
  8. GM "Ahhhh! Torment! Torm----" The screaming wails of the tiny dessicated head stopped. "---you stopped it?" came a confused, hoarse voice. "...The Torment is....over!!!!" The last vestigal echoes of the horrible wails bounced of the damp cave walls, to everyones relief. But the Crococonda paid no heed one way or another! Its coils started to crush Golden Star...
  9. Im actually waving those rolls. Can a shrunken head make a reflex roll? Does the head even want to resist a nullify? The wail is now OFF! Yippee! Meaning Golden Star is up!
  10. Starshot "Rumours of intelligent life everywhere," grunted Starshot as he landed the Xeno as best he could. "And space is a big place. I'm afraid I dont pay a whole heap of attention to rumours. So your guess is as good as mine. But if you want my guess... something to think about it. Sounds like there may be a third player in all of this. Hunters? Scientists? Or even terrorists, wanting to weaponise a giant flying whale." He jumped out of the pilot seat and headed to the Xeno ATV. "Hope you have a universal communicator handy if we do run into something. Ill drive, the ATV has some basic sensors but its not a patch on the Xeno, so I guess its you and your wand." He entered the Xeno, patted Alpha, the ship maintenance bot (who was hovering in the copilot seat) and set down behind the wheel. "This thing is built for bad terrain and falling rocks. We should be fine."
  11. The Shrunken head is wailing Croconda is biting and coiling
  12. GM The Tattered Man was as quiet as a mouse. A dead mouse, wearing slippers. Was it bad luck? Or just some sixth sense. The figure in bed woke up with a start, bolt upright, eyes wide like billiard balls. A Ringmaster? No, a Ringmistress! A woman! She had long, messy hair. A beautiful face, once, marked by a livid scar which made her mysterious, ugly, and attractive all at once. She was dressed in undergarments; patchwork, like her bed quilt. "Who are you!" she blazed, one finger stretched out to John. She had a smallish frame, but the Tattered Man could see calloused palms and wiry strength forged into strong bones.
  13. I think we will GM Fiat the Ringmistress waking up for the sake of ACTION! (Even though John is super stealthy) Tattered Man - Unharmed - 3 HP
  14. Starshot Starshot appreciated the positive sentiment; a necessity in any challenging endeavour. And yet in execution, he was not so sure. Morale. Necessary-but not sufficient. "We can do it," he said, gruffly. "Just got to figure out the how." The Xeno drifted at a more sedate pace now, gliding through the atmosphere just above the Solar Arrays. A gentle approach to the mountains and the Sarcota." "And that means getting in closer. On the ground? In the air? Its your call Doc. I know about as much magic as a Blind Hlu-hlu snail. And you best believe they don't know much about magic. Or anything at all. Although they do spit one of the most deadly poisons in the universe, I can tell you that."
  15. GM "My heart! Aaaagh!" screamed Dickens, his lament of anguish and despair echoing around the cave, almost drowning out the wail of the undead head. Splish-splash-splish-splash went his feet, pelting out of the cave. "You should have let me have the wreath!" he shouted back at them. "Idiot!" muttered Armitage, rolling his eyes at his thief. Crococonda was too fast, too slippery, for the heroes. Perhaps its was the water splashing around, getting in eyes and ensircling feat. And in a flash of crococonda-speed the hybrid beast had slammed into Golden Star, its coils wrapping around the young hero threatening a deadly embrace....
  16. Yoikes! Its whiff central! For reference the Crococonda has a defence of +8 (+10 base, -2 from size, +3 flat footed) So its going to wrap itself around Golden Star this time! Using all out attack (thus lowering defence by 2) 17 Which I think just hits Golden Star? Its a DC 25 Toughness Save And an opposed grapple roll (as Crococonda has Improved Grab) 37 Yoikes!
  17. Gamma Buzz Baltazars antennae stood straight up at Bernadettes rebuke. He mulled over several acidic replies... And was tempted to spit them out. Hey thats what Cockroaches do, right? Spit acid? So it would like be totally justified... he said feelilng sour. But what was the point? She wanted to spit acid, he wouldn't spit it back. "Lifes too serious for me to take seriously..." he said, eyeing her. And biting his cockroach lip. That girl had it all, no doubt. Looks, powers, the real deal. Gamma Buzz had to crawl through sileage to get where he was. Literally, on one particular difficult day travelling from Mexico. In fairness, she was looking out for them. A good motivation, but it felt, to Baz, like a life of steel. He wasn't sure a life of steel was worth living. The rebuke stung, doubly as it was warranted.
  18. Jumping and scooping up the slowest crowd to jump them to safety next round!
  19. Gamma Buzz Gamma Buzz wriggles his fingers, processing what Lawrence had said. "Something somethig blah blah preserve timelines something freedom league blah-dy blah something rescue the crowd..." He straightened his fingers and widened is eyes. "Thats right, isnt it?" he asked Lawrence. "It sounds right, anyway, and thats the important thing." Without waiting for further debate, and with a "Gamma Buzz, baby!" yell, he leaped into the crowd, scooping one in each mighty cockroach arm, and jumped away. He was pretty sure that rescuing the crowd and not punching the mummy was the right thing to blah blah something timelines. Lawrence had said so, and Lawrence was pretty good at knowing these things!
  20. Starshot Magic... oh save me. Starshot was hardly a scientist, but he trusted science, he knew it. The flow of muscles, blood, respiration; it fitted, it made sense. Magic, on the other hand, he was worse than ignorant on. His mind seemed to close down. Maybe it was the War, maybe Hitlers obsession with the occult. Starshot seemed to close his brain to even the possibility of magic. "Not my field," he croaked, angry with himself. "I hope you know magic as well as your know your science, Doc." He cut back the thrusters on the Xeno, so he could cruise at a more leisurely pace.
  21. Clink clink! Round 3 20 - Machete Max - Unharmed 17 - Nightscale - Unharmed - 6 HP 14 - Chimera - Unharmed - 1 HP 11 - Blowfish - Bruised 2 - Zombies [8] So Machete Max is swimming Meaning Nightscale is up!
  22. GM The Crococonda was large, but no slower for it. the snake-crocodile swished this way, swished that way, darting with the speed of a snake and the ferocity of a crocodile. Who would have guessed? Every movement of its body sent splashes of water cascading over both of the heroes. Professor Armitage and Mr Dickens did their best to hide behind rocks and stalactites, but the cover was limited, and the Crococonda could snap through the spires like they were twigs. And all the while, the shrunken head was wailing! A wail that splintered straight into the soul like a demented drill. Armitage seemed unaffected, but Mr Dickens was clutching his ears and his heart!
  23. Crococonda will lunge at Blackstaff 12 Lots of missing! All the missing! Round 1: 16 - Blackstaff - Unharmed - 1 HP 13 - G Star - Unharmed - 1 HP 10 - Crococonda - Unharmed As a reminder, the wail is still in effect (A sense dependent Nauseate power DC 15 Reflex/Will) Blackstaff is up!
  24. An amazing 6 from Baz. For reference he has low light vision, infravision, ultravision (for visual) Tremorsense and Tactile detect radiation (tactile) And scent (acute olfactory) So I suppose they may pick up something "barn door" / cant fail to notice.
