  1. "Understood. Heading for the lighthouse now." Ruby announced over the channel before doing just that. So this is Terra. She thought as she say the blue planet draw closer into view. For a place that had the terrifying reputation for fighting off invasions from the Grue and The Gorgon to birthing superpowered entities capable of destroying battle cruisers, it did not look half bad. There was still some doubt that this was her birth planet. Perhaps she should ask about Birmingham at some point. It was the best confirmation she could get really. But for the moment she had two missing persons to help out. The Voidrunner cut through the empty blackness of space and started to dock with the station. "Check Jessie to see if she can walk." Having Bliss haul her around might give off the wrong impression.
  2. Ruby had managed to force herself awake the moment the ship had returned to normal space. She made a mental note to get some proper rest once this job was completed. Though considering they may have gained the ire of the Lor Navy that might not happen. "Everyone doing fine back there?" It was still mystery to her what had happened at that station exactly as it seemed to be a blur. At this point she would not be surprised if psychic interference was involved. The Voidrunners comms channels opened up and focused on the stations frequency. "This is Ruby Voxx of The Voidrunner. We have some missing terrans on board." This far out and with a station like that, it seemed unlikely they would know about the chaos that followed them.
  3. That was not something Ruby wanted to hear. "We'll have to try the other crash sites." She said with a sign. Pressing a few buttons on her wrist comp, she opened a communication channel to The Voidrunner. "We have a problem, This planet is going to get invaded soon. Keep the ships turrets primed if you see any trouble." Probably been a better idea to alert him sooner, but the last thing she wanted was to get jumped while keeping watch. Her thoughts turned to the other crash sites. Ruby wonder how difficult traversing the cliffside was going to be. There could be other scout ships incoming and ground forces to factor in. At least things were not going to be dull.
  4. "I certainly do. But we did not come here for lessons in grammar did we?" Ruby said to Bliss just as they entered the bar. The colours were a bit much for the bounty hunter, even if she did operate in battle scared gold armor. Thankfully the dim lights helped ease some of the raw strength of the technicolor explosion around her. She quickly ordered a drink. A "Royal Nebula" from what was translated. The glass was filled with a dark blue liquid that had a strange, cloudy emerald/gold substance in it. Seems safe for lor-like races to consume at least... Ruby sighed as she took a seat. "Unlike most that live the mercenary life I can feel sympathy. And when it comes to people being taken off world at a young age, I take an interest in their welfare. "
  5. The Voidrunner dodged a weaved around space, narrowly avoiding another attempt to lock them into The Redeemers hold. A loud beeping sound came from the dashboard as a random sequence of numbers had locked into place. "We got Co-Ordinance. We are out of here." Ruby announced just as she pulled a leaver to her right. The ships engines rumbled as they approached full speed. They were flying at fantastic speeds before they exploded in a flash of white light and entered Hyperspace. Ruby slowly released her grip on the controls and leaned back. "That was close" She said, her body suddenly realizing it needs air and taking a deep breath. All that was left of the Voidrunner was a faint trail of ionized ship energies. All of this visible from the large window of Wolf 359's Cantina that normally gave patrons a nice view of the incoming space shuttles and the expanse of space.
  6. +5 for space station cover! OK, First roll is a 22. I have doubts that will save us so Hero Point shall be spent. Reroll is..22? Thanks to reroll rules that a 32.
  7. Ruby took a deep breath as The Voidrunner airlock closed. The scans had her nervous as ship instruments alerted her to scans. Hopefully the spoof signal Sitara created would give them enough time to jump into hyperspace. "Might be some in the living quarters. Not sure if they-" She was suddenly interrupted by loud beeping and flashing holographic panels screaming Warning: Gravitic Beams Detected everywhere. The bounty hunter imminently yanked the controls and sent The Voidrunner barreling out of the clutches of The Redeemer's attempts to capture the ship. "Fraaak. Looks like they found us." The Voidrunner immediately tried to fly around the station. If they can somehow keep the station between them, she was reasonable sure their beams could not get a lock onto them and drag the ship in. Ruby was now multi-tasking between ship positioning and punching in the coordinates for the Sol system. The shot of adrenaline from this turn of events was helping at least.
  8. The Voidrunner is being attacked! Rolls for evasive maneuvers to avoid capture are required! First roll called for: 34
  9. Ruby rather awkwardly hugged the Aquaria back. It was not every day someone showed her affection while on the job. "Uh...Thanks." She said before she started heading to the pilots seat. She let out a sign as she started going through the pre-flight check as fast as she could. "Its my ship remember?" The bounty hunter told Sitara. She already felt up off by her tampering with her ship, though it was not the first time someone had. Halfway through powering up the ships engines Ruby activated a holograthic pannel that tied into the ships comms array and altered the frequency to Bliss and Roulette's communicators. "You two. Get moving to the emergency airlock. I'll pick you up there. Don't do anything stupid along the way." She transmitted. The ship rumbled to life and started to make its way out of the hanger.
  10. "Well, you're useless to us then.." Ruby said before bringing the butt of her rifle down on the back of the Alien's head and knocking him out cold. "Sleep tight." The bounty hunter took a deep breath as she tried to keep calm. She was starting to wonder just how the Voidrunners keep getting caught in these sorts of events. Shaking her head, she looked over to Bliss and jerked her head to the wreckage. "Bliss, sort through that wreckage. We don't have much time. Seika, you and me are shooting anything that moves just like before." Before giving their captive a small kick with her boot just to make sure it was not getting up.
  11. In hindsight Ruby should have questioned the exact motives of everyone else in the room and figure out the line of events that lead to the people who clearly intended to capture the Terrans to help them escape the naval ships called to the station. Such thoughts and considerations were forgotten the moment she felt the familiar sensation of being hurled through hyperspace and the slip back into the front of the spacedocks. At least she was not the type to get stick from teleportation as she quickly got her bearings. "Faster than most ships its class at least. Most of those can only crawl." She told Sitara as she started to head into the docks. "Erm...You can bring the rest of my crew here right?" Ruby asked when she noticed Roulette and Bliss were not here with her. Last thing she needed to do was spend their pay on getting them out of lockup.
  12. Ruby Voxx Our Space is Vast: An Easy Mark The Marathon Xuli'pan
  13. There was a brief moment of silence as Ruby stared at Bliss and what she assumed was her smile. "...Oh, and here I was worried you left him on a desert planet filled with Deathwyrms." There were many things she had expected from her tall, augmented Xuli'pan ship mate but a jokes was not one of them. She had wondered up until now if she had a sense of humor. Ruby took a deep breath a motioned Bliss to follow her, clearly going with her the original plan of bar hopping. "Seriously though I was less bothered by his presence on board and more about the fact you decided to drag him along without telling the rest of us."
  14. "Funny thing about that." Ruby announced as she moved out from the doorway, rifle lowered but it was obvious it was ready for any split second attempts to attack her. She was surprised to recognize Sitara among them. The galaxy could not be that small could it? "I was on my way to do exactly that. Up until you brought a bloody Lor fleet on top of us and drove two hardened killers to tears." The sarcasm was laid on thick as she nodded to Jesse and Aquaria. There was no real point in hiding, Bliss had barreled in trying to save them and it would not take long for their association to come to light. "Look, obviously some of you are having something of a change of heart and quite frankly after seeing these two in action I have doubts they could actually kill a Star Knight. So it might be smart to get them off the station." Fighting them was not gonna help so co-operating with them while they were having second thoughts seemed like the best course of action. "Might need to think of something soon. Place is gonna be swarming with Lor Marines and some of them tend to get a little... overzealous.."
  15. Ruby raised her rifle at the alien and started to slowly make her approach. Even unarmed some across the galaxy had unexpected abilities or just hidden allies and weapons. She did admit, she was surprised Bliss had something of a dramatic flair for intimidation. You learn something new everyday I suppose... She kept her rifle level with the aliens head as she started to get a clearer shot. "I'd do what she says, She can get rather...Creative if you piss her off enough."
  16. Ruby was starting to make her way towards the station bars when she heard what Bliss said turned to Bliss, genuinely surprised. "You dropped Hral off?" With all she had done from piloting to finances, she was not aware Bliss had done that. But that quickly faded as other questions started to enter her mind. "Wait. What have you done with him exactly? How is he?" Bliss did not strike her as the sort of person that knew how to give orphans a good home. The possibilities of what could happen we endless and from the darker parts of her imagination came scenarios that actually frightened her, her own memories giving her terrible ideas.
  17. "Frakk. Rivals. Make sure my ship is ready soon or else." Ruby said before dashing away from the technician. Chaos and fleeing civilians were enough for her to guess that something had happened to the Voidrunners passengers. Press of a button on her collar and soon her head was covered by her helmet, battlefield condition data streaming just on the periphery of her vision. Rifle was drawn and ready, Cryo rockets blast radius factored in space and collateral damage. By the time she had reach the doorway leading into the cantina she was ready for whatever chaos she was expecting. A standoff between various mercs, Sea Devil surrendering and...Was Roulette looking like he was about to break into dance? "What are they up to?" She wondered as she kept her rifle trailed on anyone she did not recognize while keeping cover near the doorway. This job was starting to get stranger by the second even by her standards...
  18. Rubys armor also comes with Infravision as well.
  19. "Well if you are gonna be like that then..." Ruby said, rolling her eyes as she leaned again the wall. It was going to take some time for what they had ordered to be brought down. She pressed a button on her collar and her helmet started to collapse and retract. There was not a lot interesting to see in the Infra-red spectrum as far as she could tell and feeling some air on her face would be a nice change of pace from the sealed environment her suit offered. There was also the fact that supplies would take some time to actually be shipped and ready for them. If it was not for the subtle hum of station machinery and the voices of other aliens from more exotic worlds, there would be nothing but silence between the two Voidrunners. That was not much comfort to Ruby who was finding the wait and near quiet monotonous. Bliss had confirmed that she was not going to start talking about herself anytime soon and she did not have Roulette to banter with. "This is going to take a while. I'm going to get drinks. You can come if you want." Seemed unlikely that Bliss would come along, but it always seemed wrong not to offer. Who knows, some mind altering chemicals in her system and she might become sociable.

  21. Ruby Voxx A Still More Glorious Dawn Awaits Our Space is Vast The Marathon Xuli'pan.
  22. With the threat of rivals or Star Knights coming down on them at any moment, time was not on the Voidrunners side. Judging from the glare Ruby was giving technician, her patience was clearly not on his side. "I'm not falling for this scam. You gave me a quota after checking the systems along with the time it would take. Either your team does its job or you are going to have problems." Ruby told the technician. It was moments like this that made her want to try out her new rifle. Had mor epower and was cheaper to maintain that the nano pistol. Ruby glanced at Bliss. "Better check on our passengers. I can take it from here." Ruby said. If those Terrans ran into any rival bounty hunters, they could run the risk of losing their payday. Even she doubted Roulette could keep an eye on them.
  23. Ruby stepped out of the Voidrunner, now properly suited up in her scratched up gold armor. "I'll keep an eye on the back." She said as she pulled out her pistol and armed it. The bounty hunter could not recall if the planet had any particularly dangerous wildlife, but it was best to assume that everything dirtside had a plan to rend the flesh from your bones in some suitably gruesome manner. She waited for Selka and Bliss to take point. There as enough time for her to double check the cover for their ship. Hopefully the fighters scanners were not capable of sweeping rock formations with accuracy. Last thing she needed was to come back to a burning pile of scrap.
  24. You say that about everywhere we go Bliss." Ruby noted as more numbers and items were shifted around on the holographic display. Negotiating, wheeling and dealing, moving things around. The sheer monotony of this would have put her to sleep if she had no company. Though that said she did know little about Bliss beyond what little Stahnze was willing to reveal about her and that was not a lot. She hit a few more symbols on the screen before it vanished from the terminal screen. Hopefully that covers the basics for the ship. Ruby turned to Bliss, giving her knuckles a quick crack. "You sure there is nothing on your mind? You are awfully quite today. Er.., Well more so than usual."
