  1. Grimalkin As he broke free from this confinement, thin trails of vapor seeped out of Rex's nostrils, and coalesced back into a solid Grimalkin, now perched crosslegged on top of the theropod's head. She leaned over and peered into his monicled eye, just as Ghost rested his hand on her shoulder to give her aid. At his touch, she looked up at the friendly neighborhood specter and smiled. "Thanks, bud." She leaned over and gave him a friendly kiss on the cheek. And then she reared up and buried her claws into the top of Rex's head. "Hyargh!"
  2. Let's try a Power Attack. +10 to hit with claws, DC 25 Toughness save Power Attack: 1d20+10=30 Uh, I believe that's a crit Which I told takes the DC up to 30
  3. "Holy crap, that is amazing," agreed a stunned Lynn. "That's going to have a thousand and one uses, I bet." Folding her arms across her chest and unconsciously moving closer to Daphne, the changeling gave Davyd a firm look that was only half-serious, but also full of pride. "I hope you appreciate how lucky you are; between the treasure trove of movie magazines and the world's coolest microcamera, your aunties delivered today. You better go out into the world and make us proud. You here me, kachenya?"
  4. Despite having been a member of the Freedom League Auxiliary for over two years, Casey still felt like 'the new kid'. At twenty-four, she was definitely one of the younger team members, and her somewhat bookish nature meant she had a relatively small circle of friends. And of course, there was still schoolwork to be done. Still, it was nice to see Daphne and eat way too much of the catering; she didn't really bother with alcohol, since it barely had any effect on her. When she noticed Daphne suddenly turning her head to the door, Miracle Girl turned her amazing eyes towards the outside to see what was up. "Oh jeez." She politely handed her cup and plate to one of the caterers, thanked them, and then flew outside to join Daphne and the others, floating in the air next to her friend, arms crossed and looking stern.
  5. Grim snarled, her pretty face now contorted with fury. "Okay, now I'm pissed; time to fight dirty." Hunching forward, at first it appeared as if the changeling wasn't doing anything. But then Ghost noted the tips of her spiky hair getting wispy...then the top of her head...then her eyes... In a truly unnerving display, the shapeshifter was rendering her body into pure glamour, the misty stuff of dreams. But this strange gray vapor had a purpose, and it was bringing down Thesaurus Rex! The gaseous glamour flowed over to the captive beast and began pouring into his flared nostrils at an alarming rate, and soon was filling his lungs.
  6. Okay, per our discussion in chat, Grim's stunting an attack off her 18PP Morph ability: Drain 10 (Wisdom, Alternate Save [Will]) + Insubstantial 2 (Limited to Nighttime [or any other reasonable limit]) = 18PP Touch attack from Grim: 1d20+12=16 DC 20 Will save
  7. Noting the very obvious superhero sitting inside, Casey grinned and waved at him before pulling open the door and entering the Shake Shack. Unlike Nevermore, Miracle Girl was a visible presence in Freedom, and while not as famous as some other heroes, she tended to draw some attention; the fact they she was a tall, attractive blonde didn't help matters. So there were a few selfies she needed to pose for before she made it to the teen crimefighter's booth. "Sorry about that," she said with a slight grimace as she approached Nevermore. "But to be honest, they just would have taken pictures of us on the sly anyway." Casey held out a gloved hand to offer a very firm but warm handshake. "I'm Miracle Girl; very nice to meet you."
  8. Miracle Girl 2022 was going to be an interesting year for twenty-four year-old Casey Blankeship. Last year she graduated from FCU with her Bachelor's in Journalism, but decided to stay on and get her Master's with a focus on scientific and environment reporting. Most of her sorority sisters were leaving Freedom, including some of her best friends: Lola Carbone was heading back to Boston and into MIT, and Darlene Lampwick was heading to Harvard Law. They were talking about getting a place together. Only Stephanie Kowalski, resident cynic and hilarious oddball, was staying in Freedom for grad school, so naturally she and Casey went in together on an apartment. During a ski trip over the holidays back in Colorado, she told her three best friends about her secret identity; Stephanie had already figured it out (she was always the smart one), Lola suspected something was up, and Darlene was utterly flabbergasted. There were a lot of tears, apologies and hugs, and of course everyone got a brief private flight, but it bonded the four of them together like never before. It was a magical week. But now she faced the realities of grad school; a lot more schoolwork, including lots of group projects that she couldn't just super-speed through. She and Steph hardly saw each other except on the weekends, and she didn't have as much time for hero work. So she was delighted to get the call to meet up with Terrifica and her new protégé, who was somehow part of the Raven Family. - - - - - Dropping out of the sky with a soft but firm thump in her red, white and blue uniform, Casey stepped over to the resturaunt window to take a peek inside. She didn't bother to look for Terrifica (she allowed the super-detective her dramatic entrances), but was instead checking out the menu and decor.
  9. Initiative for Crystal-Gazer: 1d20+5=11
  10. Are they meeting as their heroic selves?
  11. More angry with herself than anything else, the changeling drew a deep breath, and her chest expanded like a stallion as she grew a full foot taller and her arms extended in reach. Rearing her talons back like a major league pitcher (all this happening in a blink of any eye), Grim slashed out at the ridiculous beast before her, snarling with rage, her face distorted and demonic with fury.
  12. Let's see if Grim can bounce back from her poor showing so far. Attack roll: 1d20+13=24 Yes, much better! DC 23 Toughness save
  13. Grim rose unsteadily to her feet, clutching her side; the pain wasn't as bad, but her head was still swimming. Looking up, she realized she was much closer to the bizarre dinosaur than she thought, an opportunity she hoped not to waste. "Hiyaaah!" There was a lot of power behind the thrust, but the sudden movement nearly made the shapeshifter puke, and her talons swung wide of the mark. "Damn it!"
  14. Crystal-Gazer The Harrow Estate, North Bay Lulu Beaumont was sprawled out on her bed wearing the pink Crimson Tide jersey her brother Bobby sent to her for Christmas, idly making travel plans for the spring on her smartphone. So far, her 'skip year' had been relatively light on heroics, but she didn't mind; travelling the world with her friends had been super rewarding. But then a news item popped up that caught her attention, something about a building covered in beeswax with people possibly trapped inside, something her telepathy and ESP were just perfect for! - Hey Megan, there's an issue on the Southside where they could really use a telepath. I'm going to check it out; don't worry , l'll stay in touch! - Quickly donning the pink and black costume her foster parents gave her during their holiday visit to the UK, Crystal-Gazer opened her bedroom window and took to the air, made invisible to any observers via telepathy. "Wonder who else is already there," she pondered aloud to herself.
  15. Switching to Crystal-Gazer, with Nerdzul's permission.
  16. As Judy starting running towards the ruin, Lulu got caught up in the competitive spirit. "Challenge accepted, girl!" She through herself into the chase, heedless of appearance as she flailed her arms around like Phoebe from Friends, yelling all the way. She also sent a mental message Adam's way. Come and check out the castle with us, hon!
  17. "Augh!" It had been a while since the changeling had tried to capture someone as powerful as Thesaurus Rex; she forgot just how much it hurt if somebody broke through one of her glamour creations, because they were linked to her. The massive tail shattering the bamboo cage felt like a piledriver slammed into her gut, knocking the wind out of her and dropping her to the ground. "I'm okay!" she gasped as she held up one hand while cradling her abdomen with the other. "My own damn fault for getting cocky. Just...gimme a minute."
  18. Toughness save (I think it's +6?): 1d20+6=9 Oh, that's going to hurt! Toughness save vs Feedback: 1d20+6=17 Better, but still very painful, I think. Edit: reroll via Extra Effort and spending an HP to buy off Fatigue: 1d20+6=9 Ugh, so 19, I think?
