1. I think Shift has the HP for this (she has Luck 2): using Beginners Luck to get +11 on an otherwise untrained Knowledge: Occult roll. 1d20+11=19
2. SLIP AND SLIDE by THEV Really simple edit. 3 PP converted to skill points, 4 each in Investigate, Kn: Streetwise and Search. And make the pic smaller, for God's sake
3. SLIP AND SLIDE BY THEV https://photos.app.goo.gl/V5FnY1cS1X5nBUcq6 The Eel Power Level: 7 (116/116PP) Tradeoffs: -3 Toughness/+3 Defense Unspent PP: 0 In Brief: Amnesiac former Labyrinth agent with induced mutations Identity: Unknown Birthplace: UK? Occupation: Bartender/detective Affiliations: The Labyrinth (former), The Tattered Man (associate) Family: Unknown Description: Age: Mid-twenties? Gender: Female Height: 5’6” Weight: 125 lbs. Eyes: Brown Hair: Brown with blonde highlights The young woman known only as 'the Eel' is a slender, athletic woman of medium height. Her hair is cut short in a practical pixie bob, and she wears no jewelry. Her movements are graceful and confident, and she speaks in a rather posh, Received Pronunciation accent. The Eel wears a slick, full body suit, which she calls her 'Eelskin'; it not only provides her an element of protection, but also responds to her chameleonic coloration and can even replicate other clothing. It also has a built-in zipable pouch that holds small items. It is currently the only garment she owns, though sometimes she'll wear a thrift store trenchcoat over it in the field. History: A young woman with no memory of her past beyond her strange moniker, 'the Eel' is trying to write a new life on her blank state. She is haunted by the feeling that she's done something very bad, and must atone for it; to this end, she will help those she encounters in any way she can. She currently works as a bartender (one of the few 'normal' skills she recalls) at Club Maxx as 'Eileen Lake', a false identity she's assembled over time. However she's been known to do a little detective work on the side, on occasion helping the Tattered Man with some of his cases. Personality & Motivation: Like many Brits, the Eel has a rather dry sense of humor, frequently dipping into gallows humor. Most of the skills she can recall are rather sinister, and she's struggling to find better uses of them. She's willing to steal to live, though she's not particularly proud of it, and feels a strange affinity for the struggling lower classes. Powers & Tactics: There are very few places the Eel can't get into if she's really determined, as she's extremely sneaky and hard to pin down. Unfortunately she is now much more sensitive to heat, and has to take care to avoid fire-based attacks. The Eel is built for infiltration and information gathering, and while she can handle herself in a fight, she's far from a heavy hitter. However her toxin is very effective at making people more pliable if not outright unconscious, ideal for incapacitating security guards and the like. Complications: I Don't Remember, I Don't Recall.: The Eel is currently suffering from retrograde amnesia, with no memory of events prior to washing up in Bedlam. This leaves her very vulnerable in a very dangerous place. I Think I Used To Be Awful.: Sometimes Eel will catch a glimpse of her previous life, or have an instinctive, hostile reaction to stimuli, and she doesn't like what she sees. Sounds A Bit Posh, Don't She?: The Eel apparently comes from an upper class English family, and therefore speaks in a rather RP accent; this doesn't always go over so well with the 'hoi polloi', especially if they're from the UK. No Pictures, Please: Both the Eel and 'Eileen' hate to be photographed, and will get very upset if it's done without consent. Photos can end up on the web, which could lead to her past catching up with her. 4. Grimalkin Grim's natural scent of pine and flowers grew stronger, and then Ghost felt her breath on the back of his neck as she whispered back. "He's always been fairly whimsical, all cuckoo clocks and bratwurst. People think of Germans as joyless Nazis, but they actually know how to party." There was a weary sigh that tickled the crimefighter's ear. "This is exactly the sort of ridiculous bs Dok would get into. So yeah, I believe him."
5. Grimalkin "Very much so," she said with a firm nod. Once they were inside and took a seat, Grim faded into the background...literally, as she used her glamour to become transparent. She didn't want Dok to feel too boxed in or crowded, though she wanted to be present to step in and come to his defense if need be. She and her former employer had some reconciliation several years ago; one could hardly call them friends, but they were certainly civil. The one part of Grim that was incongruously still visible was her hand holding Ghost's, which gave it a reassuring if disembodied squeeze.
6. Crystal-Gazer At first, Lulu wasn't sure what was going on, but then she experienced a rapidly expanding wave of emotions coming up from the lower floors of Freedom Hall. Fear, disgust, panic, outrage, concern - so many feelinge! And then they spread into several of the heroes already in the room, and a name was suddenly floating in the center of her mind. ARCHEVILLE As a telepath, she'd of course been interested in reading about the disgraced German scientist back at Claremont, but it was often hard to separate fact from fiction. But maybe tonight, she'd learn more than she bargained for. But the redheaded elf was all smiles as she followed behind Neko, visions of sugar plums literally dancing around both their heads. "Y'all are gonna love what we got waitin' for you in here!"
7. Grimalkin Grim looked at Ghost and sighed. "You're not used to good things happening in your life, are you? You have that look like you're always waiting for the other shoe to drop." She tucked her head into the crook of his shoulder and took a long slow contented breath as Berlin's synth classic played. "You need to let the good things in from time to time; otherwise what's the point of living? Then you really are a ghost." It was bliss for a few more pleasant moments before the changeling politely cleared her throat. "But of course...having Viktor frickin' Archeville show up at your party is not the kind of thing a Leaguer is allowed to ignore." She turned her head towards the direction of the gathering heroes, shook her head and sighed. "That same damn German cologne."
8. Grimalkin The lovely fae crinkled her nose and shook her head. "You worry too much, you adorable spectre; for one thing, only one of us needs to be a good dancer. Don't worry, I'm going to make you look amazing out there. Here-" She took his left hand in her right, placed his other one around her waist, and then closed her eyes; as she did so, her body subtlety adjusted its proportions (height, weight, etc) to ideally match him as a dance partner, until they fit together like two peas in a pod. "There, much better! Shall we?"
9. Shift Things were better than they had been a few seconds ago, but the young android sensed the fight was far from over. Chunk moving to Sebastian's side was probably not a good thing, so Shift moved to neutralize the more durable opponent. She looked like she was about to do a somersault, but instead her nanomass tumbled like a giant Slinky toy, reforming into her female shape right next to Chunk. Then her arms and legs abruptly snapped around his torso, joined shortly thereafter by two more pairs of limbs that slid out of her torso. In this position, it was quite clear Pol weighed well over six hundred pounds. "Stay. Put."
10. Grimalkin At the sound of Ghost's voice, Grim spun around to face him, the motion of which did all sorts of interesting things to her outfit. "Well if it isn't Mr. Ghost! It's been far too long." She gestured towards the dance floor, a warm smile lighting up her face. "Might I have this dance?"
11. Reroll: 1d20+8=17 That's a 9, so 27? Grapple check using Additional Limbs: 1d20+28=39
12. I think Shift is going to try and grapple Chunk. She's +24 normally, and I think she gets bonuses if she switches her VP to Additional Limbs?
13. Crystal-Gazer Floating in the air, Lulu closed her eyes and took a deep breath through her nose, held it for a few seconds, and then slowly exhaled through her lips. "Mmm...sure seems peaceful here! Let's have a look 'round, see what's the what." A little bit of Davyd's pop culture obsession crossed over to Lulu in his thoughts, and she grinned. "Well ah'm no Legolas, but ah'll give it the ol' Alabama try." An absent-minded roll of her neck snapped her Chinese government-issued inhibitor collar like it was a cheap Happy Meal toy, easy work for her TK. "There, that's better!" The telepathic redhead's eyes went unfocused as she sent her eyes and ears far ahead of their little group. Her head cocked this way and that, and when she spoke, it was just a bit too loud. "Hmm...not a lotta tech 'round here; looks like most folks are doin' things the old-fashioned way. Simple tools an' draft animals. Wait a sec, ah see...ah see him!" She raised a hand to point at the distant structure. "He's at some kinda monastary or somethin', doin' martial arts and whatnot. C'mon!" And at that, she began swooping through the air!
14. Crystal-Gazer Reaching out with her TK, Lulu gently picked up Veronica in her invisible mental grasp, and began floating towards the portal. "Be ready for anythin', ah guess!" She closed her eyes and braced herself for the unknown.
15. Grimalkin "Good lord, you've gotten tall since I saw you last," Grim blurted out like the old Jewish grandmother she secretly was. "He was like one of those spooky kids from Village of the Damned, but now he's all tall and grown up! You look amazing, Lawrence." She gave him a very firm hug before turning her attention towards another of the arrivals "And Stesha! Give me hugs, you crazy plant lady..."
16. Crystal-Gazer There was a soft knock on the door of the second floor crèche, and then a red-headed elf with a purse over one shoulder entered the room. She waved a hand and looked somewhat embarrassed. "Hey, sorry ah'm late! Davyd said you might need a lil' help with some of the kids?" As Lulu stepped further into the room, a miniature alpine scene appeared to form around her, complete with snow, pine trees and tiny skiers. As the telepath sat cross-legged on the floor in one corner, a few of the minitaure figures struggled to ski around her. "So what are y'all up to? Oh, that has got to be Davyd right there, don' it," she asked as she indicated the tub full of swans and Jell-O.
17. Shift Over Charlie's earpiece, he hears a soft contralto voice with just a hint of fury. -Copy that. I'd recognize that jerk's heat signature anywhere.- Seconds later, a high pitched whine can be heard coming from overhead, rapidly rising in volume and pitch. Suddenly a large projectile punctures the roof, slamming into the floor at a slight angle not three feet from Sebastian's head. A series of beeps increases in speed until the shell splits open and unfolds into an attractive young woman with a big head of curly hair, wearing a close-fitting blue jumpsuit that leaves her lower arms and legs exposed. She looks down at Luke and his prisoner with a warm grin. "Hello friends! Did you miss me?" Her right arm then raises up, shifting into a massive knobby tentacle before slamming across the would-be Casanova's face.
18. First roll to hit Cas: 1d20+8=9 "Mediocre!" Using Luck for a reroll: 1d20+8=10 (+10) = 20
19. Forgive me for being very rusty, but what would I need to do to have Shift drop through the roof and do a Slam attack on Chump? It can't just be as simple as roll to hit, right? This is M&M!
20. Grimalkin After releasing Velocity, Grim turned to Mali and clearly struggled for a second as she tried to place the face and voice, but then Megan did her magical host thing and saved her. "Omigod, yes, I'm so sorry! That was...August of 2014, when I was just getting resettled. You and your friend rented an apartment from me, and worked in the store for a while, right? You guys had that weird skeleton cat that liked spine scritches..." The fae heroine laughed and shook her head "Wow, that has to be the most non-heroic way for two heroes to know each other! How have you been?" When Velocity indicated the two Claremont graduates, Grim smiled and shook their hands with a warm grip. "Oh, nice to meet you! Grimalkin, Mistress of Mystery. Forgive me, I'm not familiar with your work; I don't follow younger heroes as well as I should."
21. Grimalkin It had been a long time since Lynn Epstein had walked these hallowed halls. Never an actual Leaguer but often Leaguer-adjacent, the veteran superhero always felt like a bit of an interloper at these shindigs. She often found herself tucked into a quiet corner, literally invisible but watching the spectacle unfold. No matter, she was determined to make a go of it. After spending some time working on her look, she settled on tall and playful, wearing a cranberry red dress conjured out no earthly fabric, but drawing on elements of silk, rose petals and butterfly wings. Grim felt just like Julia Roberts, arriving at the opera in that one movie. Snagging some champagne from an attentive server, the fae heroine scanned the crowd more with her ears than her eyes, searching for familiar voices. And of course one mellifluous laugh caught her ear. "My, don't we all look lovely tonight? Happy holidays, Vel!" She offered her oldest friend in Freedom a warm hug without spilling a single drop of champagne, clearly a gesture of supernatural grace.
