  1. "Yes, yes, body restored, but... He would still be in a cheese body." Pan was obviously not a big fan of the idea. Not that he had anything against cheese, but not as somebody's body. And then, Lorenzo went to work, everything changed and they stood in a vibrant forest. It was... strange. It felt almost like home. It looked almost like home. But the smell was off, was it not? This was not Neverworld. Perhaps it was the Fea Realms, as Lorenzo had hoped. He was not too fond of having been moved to another location against his will, or at least without asking, twice in one day. The last time, he had ended up on Earth, and he was starting to fit in here. He had plenty of friends. And now he was in another world again, without even being asked properly? No, he did not like that. In a flush of golden glitter, he was by Lorenzo, right up in his face, or what passed for his face, anyway. "Who said you could take us along?" There was an underlying anger to his tone. It was as much a statement of his feelings on the matter, as it was a question.
  2. "I'm hoping that you will just back down. I don't want to fight you, but I will do it if I have to." Justice kept her distance. Sure, the engines in her boots gave her Justice Kick more force than the gun. Would probably be easier to put the Wall down with a well placed kick, but she had the distinct feeling that if she got in close, and he got his hands on her, she would be toast. And at the same time, Blowfish was ordering his goon to take a shot. Robin looked glanced at him. She was not about to take her eyes off the Wall. No, not that quickly. If she did, he was sure to try something. So instead she spoke, doing her best to keep her voice completely calm. "If you even try to take a shot at the Wall, you're going down even faster than your boss when the big guys in prison tells him to pucker up. I don't care if he's bulletproof. Nobody here dies." She wasn't quite sure where the pucker up line came from. Maybe she had just gotten used to calling out Blowfish now?
  3. Readying an action to take a Justice Shot with Power Attack Maneuver against the first one that makes a hostile move, be it the guard, Blowfish or the Wall. Attack roll: 1d20+9 = 24 DC22 Toughness, if anyone makes a move.
  4. GM The guard gasped audibly, taking a step back. "My king! This man is clearly a skilled magician! To trick even me, with my eyes! It is a wonder!" The King let out a single laugh. "Ha!" No tears, not yet. But emotion. A beginning, perhaps? "Well done, bard!" The last word was more praise than mockery now. "That is indeed my card! Found skillfully, despite my guard's interference!" He waved the guard off. With a bit of a sullen look, the guard moved away, before the King spoke once more. "Continue!"
  5. Forever Boy Just trust him? Well, fine then. Had they any other choice? "Eh, I have found that tutting can do a great many things." he replied to Nicole, not really sure the reason for that particular comment, but fine, maybe he had committed some faux pas here on Earth. Selena made a lot of sense as she grabbed the book. Mike and his friends had screwed up majorly, and who knew what else they could do to make this worse? Then again, only Nicole knew any magic between the people here that had proven capable at demon slaying... But fine. Onwards, then. "It is all great that you know which path you took, but if everything is changing all around us, who is to say that the paths are still the same?" He paused for but a moment, before asking another question. "And since we are apparently such accomplished demon slayers, what can you tell us of this Baal? What is his goals in coming here? What can he do?"
  6. Pan followed, and he had to marvel at all the names that Corinne rattled off, so many different dishes. Not just spicy nachos, like she had said. Or maybe it was all some kind of spicy nachos? Interesting! While they waited, he leaned against the counter, trying to get a look at the food being prepared. "That was a lot of different things. How can you even keep them all straight at once?" he asked, stretching a bit to try and get a look at the kitchen. "I hope it is alright that I pay you back another day. I am still not used to having to carry money around."
  7. Yeah. Pass for whatever you want to do.
  8. Cheese? All of this, a gateway to another realm, accidentally summoning Pan, attacking Penny and Oz with a chess golem (also by accident, it seemed), all of it just because of cheese? "Cheese? You're doing all this for cheese?" He paused but briefly, shooting an incredulous look at Penny, then at Oz. "And you want a body of cheese?" Pan could follow quite a bit. He had his share of adventures, he had seen much weird and strange, but this? Cheese? This was a bit much. Just... Cheese?
  9. Can I get a perform roll (for whatever you feel appropriate) or maybe sleight of hand (depending on how you do it) when Lament gets the card?
  10. GM The Elf guard paused. His eyes were wide. Had he been caught, or was the mortal simply buying time? He could not let a mortal such as this shame him, or be the one to deliver the king from his lament, could he? "You heard the king! Get out of here before he decides to do worse!" the guard tried, only to be silenced by a gesture from the king. The smile was growing. "If my guard will not check his sleeve himself, then by all means, help yourself mortal." The tone of his voice was shifting, ever so slightly.
  11. Shooting the Wall with a Justice Shot, with Power Attack maneuver for -2 Attack / +2 DC: 1d20+9 = 22 DC22 Toughness, if that hits.
  12. "Nope." Robin snapped back at Blowfish. "But we know all about how you bribed him. Good thing we already got someone at him, right Kidd?" Hopefully he got what she meant. Robin really hoped that he did, but at any rate, they didn't have time for doing anything now. The Wall was back. Frothing, yelling, being just about pissed in every way that he could be. "Can't do that, Wall. Sorry." She meant what she said earlier. Nobody dies. Not even a scumbag like Blowfish. A quick adjustment to the Justice Buster, and she took her shot, sending a burst of kinetic energy flying towards him. She hated this. Everyone working together would have been much better, but he just had to break that, didn't he?
  13. Sense Motive: 1d20+9 = 16 That guy just seems SO trustworthy!
  14. You probably triggered at least one of your complications at some point, so let's assume you do! Remember that for rerolling toughness save, you add 10 if your dice roll is less than 11
  15. "I think he's the very very silly one, to be honest." Pan whispered back to Penny, removing the cherrypop from his mouth for a moment, before returning it and sucking on it with a very hard thinking expression on his mouth. He could honestly not follow what the once great and powerful Oz and Lorenzo were going on about, so instead he decided to focus fully on Penny. "Sooo... Sorry if the hug was a bit much. What brings the two of you here? From the mention of a cheese golem, I do not suppose you were brought here by an inept mage messing up a summoning circle?"
  16. Pan held his arm around Corinne's shoulder as she laughed, laughing with her. Oh, this was just brilliant. Sure, people around them might be staring, but so what? Let them! Who cared? "Yes, nachos! Let me get a taste of this fabled dish!" Pan agreed, letting her lead the way. He stopped in the door, staring at her with a serious expression. He could only keep that up for so long before his lips split into the grin that seemed to be his default. "Let us try spicy, then! And I will do my best to hang!" He moved on, into the restaurant, quickly gesturing for Corinne to lead the way. She was the one that knew about these things, after all! And spicy could mean many things, after all. He had once seen someone eat a very spicy pepper on a computer. A few other students had been laughing at the man's reaction, and Pan had joined them! Now, it would be interesting to see just how spicy these nachos would be!
  17. Maximillian Mars, converted from Emerald City Secrets 3E, as requested by Ari. PP spent above 15PP/PL, but due to conversion. Not really meant to be a direct combatant without his armor, which is why he is under caps, as noted under trade offs. EDIT: Made 1 foot shorter at Ari's request.
  18. Maximillian Mars Power Level: 11 (166/166PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: Under caps. In Brief: Super genius super villain that has mothballed his armor to lead a succesful technology corporation, hiding his ongoing villainy behind a popular reputation Alternate Identity: The Commander (Secret, former) Birthplace: Emerald City. Residence: Riverfront, Emerald City. Base of Operations: MarsTech Headquarters, River Front, Emerald City Occupation: Head of MarsTech, Criminal mastermind Affiliations: MarsTech, the Chamber Family: None known Description: Age: 55 (DoB: 1964) Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5' Weight: 170 lbs. Eyes: Green Hair: Light brown, greying at the temples Always dressed in tailored suits from London, Maximillian Mars always looks his best. A bright smile on his lips, a gleam in his green eyes, his hair and beard immaculate, he simply looks perfect, even as wrinkles are beginning to show on his face. History: Once, there was a super villain known as the Commander. He wore a high tech armor, filled with alien technology that he had stumbled upon and reverse engineered as a young man. He wanted power, he wanted riches. He fought the Centurion on several occasions. He was foiled by the Freedom League. Under the Moore Administration, he fought FORCE Ops on several occasions. His ever evolving armor meant that any encounter would mean something new. Never employing the same trick twice, he was a persistent foe. While he was defeated, he always managed to escape, and his identity remained a secret. And then the Terminus Invasion happened. Surprising even himself, the Commander fought side by side with the heroes, even aiding his hated foe the Centurion against Omega. After the Terminus Invasion, the Commander disappeared. Most believed that he had died. Few claimed to have seen him in the years since, but it was never confirmed. It was all just rumors. Years later, the company known as MarsTech appeared. Seemingly out of the blue, the MarsTech brand became synonymous with high tech user friendly technology. The popular Deimos laptop! The Phobos operating system! Stylized and cheap smart phones! They seemed to be ahead of the competition in every regard. Research in the history of the company showed it as a simple start up, all the work of a single man. Working for hire, the founder would eventually create a juggernaut of technological advances that would take the world by storm. That man, that founder, was Maximillian Mars. Inviting the world into his life as the chief designer, creator and director of MarsTech, he would only continue to grow on popularity, as he raised his company to even greater heights in his native Emerald City. He was a man of the people, a friend to every employee, he offered benefits and great pay, paid insurance for all of his employees: In short, the man of the year for all years. And of course, he was also once the Commander, and even now, he was a member of the Chamber, the organization that rules Emerald City from the shadows, supplying his technological expertise and businesses to their goals. The Commander armor left in storage, he now had more power than ever before. Maximillian Mars might be a lighter shade of black than his compatriots in the Chamber, and almost a hero to the people of the world, but make no mistake: At heart, he is still a villain, and his ultimate goal remains: Nothing less than world domination. Personality & Motivation: Maximillian Mars is a genius and a visionary. Even as the mastermind behind MarsTech, and the creator of the vast majority of their technologies and advances, he is friendly and affable. He knows the name and history of every employee, he eats lunch with the janitors every other week, if his time permits. He genuinely cares about his employees, and does his best to keep the them safe from machinations of the Chamber. Still, Maximillian is a super villain, even if he no longer wears the colorful armor of the Commander. He has a ruthless side, having masterminded several of the Chamber's plans, and even if he is the voice that will advocate keeping innocents safe, he is more than willing to go through with anything, if it means furthering his own goals. His ultimate goal? To rule everything. Emerald City is just the start, the testing phase of his plans for the world. After all, Maximillian Mars is a nice man, but he also knows that he is a genius, and he really do know better than everyone else. Powers & Tactics: Maximillian will rarely, if ever, directly confront others in combat. Those days are simply behind him, and he would much rather play mind games, or, if it comes to it, send henchmen, mercenaries or even MarsTech security to deal with any potential trouble. He keeps his involvement in any scheme a secret, perhaps even more so than the rest of the Chamber. Power Descriptions: Maximillian posses no overt super powers, but he incredibly intelligent, able to process knowledge much faster than the vast majority of humanity. His Commander armor is currently in storage, but can be used if necessary. Complications: Better a Villain than Bored: Maximillian wants fame and riches. He wants everyone to respect him, and he has achieved all that. Legally, too. So why do he is he still a member of the Chamber? Why do he still manipulate Emerald City, if he does not always need to? Simple: Boredom. What better way to fall into a lull? The Commander: The stock of MarsTech would surely drop should Maximillian's true nature as a villain and a member of the Chamber come to light. MarsTech: Maximillian genuinely cares about his employees at MarsTech. 19. Blow his head off? Just what, of anything, that Robin had done up to this point made Kidd think that she would blow someone's head off, as much as it would solve everything? That's not what heroes do! "And that excused ordering your men to shoot at everyone, including the people actually protesting against this place?" Tie him up in court, yeah. But they needed to stop him, if they could. Put him behind bars for a good long while, if it was at all possible. Everything else they had should stick, but could she be sure? And the Wall was getting closer... "Jackson, keep the camera on. Kidd, cuff Blowfish and his goon. We got our informant," Robin almost let Amber's name slip, but stopped herself, "and we got Johns. Throw the book at him. I'm sure he'll give up Blowfish if it helps him. You're going down, Blowfish, and I'm not about to let you get away on something like this." The Wall was coming. She looked down the sights of the Justice Buster, making sure it was set up right, then moved to the side. "Everyone get out of the way, and I'll deal with the Wall."
  20. Forever Boy Now, when had Pan ever given up when someone told him to? Especially when that someone had sent someone to hunt him or his friend (but most probably his friend), and now shot at his friend too? Sure, Reina did shoot first, but you could hardly blame anyone for doing just that in her situation. "Sorry, but I must decline." Moving in close, he swept his hand towards the hunter, the Forever Blade materializing in brilliant Pixie Dust, even if his swing went wide.
  21. GM Whoever the hunter was, he was fast. The violet bolt of starlight surged towards him, and he twisted to the side, easily dodging, while raising his right hand. The gauntlet moved around, parts splitting apart and combining. It took less than a second for a long barrel to form, one that fired a laser beam straight towards Aurora. It was a clean hit, but would it actually hurt her? At any rate, the hunter continued, stopping right in front of the duo. "Stand down, or I will be forced to hurt you. I have no interest in damaging the merchandise, but I will not let you hurt me!" There was an echo to the voice, distorted further by the armor.
  22. That's a miss! And Star Hunter is up. Coming in fast, so, still his move action. Shooting a blast at Aurora in return: 1d20+12 = 23 That's a hit. Toughness DC27 Star Hunter is now close. Pan returns the favor. Moves closer, uses Forever Blade with Stunning Attack feat and Accurate Attack maneuver for 1d20+8= 18 And that's a miss too! 29 - Aurora - 0HP - Bruised, Dazed 18 - Star Hunter - Unharmed 10 - Forever Boy - 4HP - Unharmed
  23. GM There was a hint of a smile, the tiniest wrinkle of the corner of the King's lips, as Lament threw himself on his hands and knees. Was it the show that took him in, that caused even the sliver of this reaction, or was it Lament, as he threw himself in the dirt and dust, lamenting his failure? It was difficult to say. Outright impossible, even! But the Elf King's response was swift. He gestured to the same guard, pointing towards Lament. "I am sure that you can. Your kind is quick with explanations. Did you even retrieve my tears? Or was that a failure as well?" The guard's smile was more showing, milk-white teeth visible between his lips. "On your feet," he commanded, reaching down to pull Lament up.
  24. Yeah, worked well last time. And DC20, like last time too, so just failed. -2 to attack, defense and checks.
