  1. GHOST "Eh, it was much better than anything I would've come up with," Ghost says with a shrug, before holding up his hand. "One sec." He quickly stuffs the snack he was holding into his mouth and quickly chews, before pulling his mask down over his mouth. "Sorry, it was getting awkward to hold on to that. And I get it. I'm only around Freedom, and I'm plenty busy myself. Lots to do all the time." "Honestly, I had no idea that anyone ever read those reports." Ghost takes a breath, and then. "So, uh... Sorry about some of the more rambling moments. And the jokes. And, ah, the points where I start going on about how boring it is filling out reports... and the ones where I had to rush off mid report and then never got back to it."
  2. Spaceman Parker turns to Velocity the moment she is on the stage, forgetting everything around him for the moment. The Freedom League... they're the ultimate goal to him. Becoming a member, maybe more... becoming like the Centurion. They're all muddling through, all just trying their best. So maybe he doesn't have to put himself up to such high standards yet? Maybe it's fine to just relax and do things at his own pace, instead of trying to be the very best already? And then... music. That is Bernadette, right? Multi-Girl. She is a few years ahead of Parker, but he has met her a few times. She is good. The band is good. And maybe he should follow Velocity's lead and relax a little bit. "Sorry, but, excuse me," he says to Fleur, instead turning towards Mizuki, Consuelo, Lawrence and Baz. "Do you want to get out on the dance floor?" It should be easier with more of them, at least. Then he's not asking anyone specific out with him.
  3. GHOST "That was nice," Ghost says, having moved over to where Velocity has moved after leaving the scene. His mask is still pulled up to reveal his mouth, a few snacks in one of his hands. His costume is somehow staying nice and clean white and light grey despite it all. "Real uplifting to all the kids out there." He gives her a thumbs up while he talks, even if he sounds tired, like usual. "Guess they can use that, right?" "Don't think we've run into each other much. I'm Ghost, been with the League a bit, but haven't really gotten to do much with you guys. Life and the city's keeping me too busy to show up to most meetings, I guess."
  4. The STORMCROW Charlie adjusts his tie as he makes his way back into the party. His hair is slightly ruffled, but otherwise, he has done his best to hide any hint of the events under the mistletoe. Still, he is smiling, a big, genuine smile, one where there's no doubt that he means it. He knows what is about to happen, of course he does. Bernadette and her band. Charlie still haven't told her that he caught their last performance, but at the moment, he is focused on Velocity's speech. One day they might be up there? Maybe. It's what he aimed for one day, but not now. He got other plans. One day he and his friends will be standing on their own stage, not the League's. And he can't wait. Charlie is brought out of his thoughts when Bernie and Multiplicity takes the stage, and his smile only grows wider as they begin to perform. He suppresses the urge to lean close to the nearest and telling them that he just made out with the singer, and instead just listens to the music, while he begins to move through the crowd to try and find any of his friends. Muirne and Luke should still be here somewhere, at least.
  5. Spaceman "I'm honestly not much for parties, but I try," Parker replies to Fleur de Joie. Stesha. She just wants to be called Stesha. Which feels very weird. "It felt rude not to come when invited." Like Lawrence, he notices the commotion with Consuelo and the shadow woman... person... well, whatever it is. He has learned from experience not to get in her business, but still... Parker raises his hand to do a short, awkward wave to Mizuki and Consuelo.
  6. WISHED AWAY by Thev A small update for Forever Boy's description. Please change it to this, including the picture, removing the old ones: --- Pan is an attractive young man with wild, semi-long dark red hair and green eyes. He has an athletic build, which he doesn’t mind showing with mostly form fitting clothing. Pan prefers green and red clothing, rarely wearing any dark colors. He almost always seem to be smiling. In uniform, Pan wears an emerald green suit with golden yellow details. A golden yellow line runs up the front of each of his legs from his feet, where he wears flared red pirate boots with golden yellow soles and detailing. The yellow lines on his legs run up past his belt and up his ribs, curving in and meeting at his solar plexus. A pair of stylized golden yellow wings stretch out from that connecting point of the golden lines at his solar plexus and up his chest to his shoulders, where they run around and connect at his back. The uniform ends in a golden ring at Pan's neck. He wears green gloves that seem to be part of the sleeves until he takes them off. He wears a red belt with a golden buckle, as well as an emerald green domino mask. Pan has taken to wearing a dark red coat with golden details, often wearing it both with and without his uniform.
  7. GHOST Kind of amazing, isn't it? Big christmas parties among all the heroes in Freedom and beyond, and somehow, everything is just all fine and dandy, everyone just walking around in their secret identities, chatting and introducing themselves, chatting, being friendly and everything. Well, not quite everyone. Not the friendly neighborhood Ghost, no. He is in full costume, white and grey, with his goggles pushed up to his forehead, leaving his eyes visible, and his white mask pulled up to free his mouth, leaving him free to eat as many sandwiches as he can reach. He has shaven, and added a red butterfly to his costume for the event. Most people tend to keep their distance, but he's used to that. At least the food is good.
  8. Bernadette and her band is done. Part of him wants to go up there, congratulate her, and he can already see Luke and Leon going there, but... no. Not yet. Things still aren't ready. With a smile, he instead withdraws, pulling back into the crowds and moving towards the exit. Next time, maybe, but for now, there's still things to set up, and he still has to find out what a few of his other friends have been up to lately.
  9. Spaceman Parker shrugs, after Lawrence's explanation. "I know that I still have a lot to learn about my powers and what I can do, so if you feel like you need guidance, you're not the only one." It isn't something that he usually likes to advertise, but on the other hand, it sounds like Vicki would feel better if she wasn't the only one.
  10. Spaceman Parker doesn't recognize the blue person that stands before him. Maybe he should, but who knows, if this is all the creation of some kind of reality warper? He is barely listening to what they are telling him, focusing on everything around him. Is is there. It is not just illusions. He can feel the distance to everything and everyone around him, and yet, the way he just started falling when he broke the sequence. It is like a giant video game. A poorly programmed one that doesn't like when you do sequence breaking. "No more creativity, no more free will, no more individuality. Is that what you want?" he asks, his voice calm. He stands with his arms to the side, hands held open, making no move to appear threatening.
  11. GM Despite the fact that Sebastian Shields is lying on the ground, and that those under his control are freed, the foreboding feeling remains. Something is still very wrong. The dark tendrils of shadowy energy of the Schattenwelt still connects him to Shadowborne. That motley drama—oh, be sure It shall not be forgot! With its Phantom chased for evermore, By a crowd that seize it not, "N-no, yo-you bill nod..." She lashes out, cracking her whip, but Stormcrow danced out of the way, seeing the strike coming before she even made it. She shakes her head, doing her best to remain standing, to stay in the fight, even as Paper begins to approach her. She is barely standing, but there is still a wicked smile on her lips. Through a circle that ever returneth in To the self-same spot, And much of Madness, and more of Sin, And Horror the soul of the plot. The paper dinosaur chews on Chump, keeping him tight, keeping him held deep within, and yet, hardened by Paper's magic as it might be, it is still paper, and Chump's strength is something else entirely. There is a tearing and ripping sound, paper being torn to shreds as he tears through the construct. It takes effort, sure, but it has no chance against him as he yells "Get this damn thing off me!" But see, amid the mimic rout A crawling shape intrude! A blood-red thing that writhes from out The scenic solitude! Chump falls to the ground and rolls, quickly getting up, he rushes through the fight, past Toxin and to Casanova's side, where he stops, staring down at his friend, with fear in his eyes, as he clenches his fist, while the shadowy energy begins to wrap around Sebastian Shields' form. It writhes!—it writhes!—with mortal pangs The mimes become its food, And the angels sob at vermin fangs In human gore imbued.
  12. The STORMCROW Charlie smirks, dancing back and spinning out of the way of Ms. Scorpion's strike, holding his staff out to the side as he avoids it. "Go for it, Paper." He can't help himself. There's this foreboding sensation, and yet, he's still having the time of his life, back in the thick of it with his friends, no matter how annoyed they might be at him. "And I got no idea who this Nevermore is, but he sounds handsome. I'm Stormcrow." Moving away, he holds his staff out behind him, as he holds a hand out towards Toxin. "C'mon, don't do that. Shields and Scorpion are jerks, we all agree on that, but killing isn't going to solve this, right?"
  13. Current thread theme: Your World Will Fail by Les Friction Stormcrow tries to stop Toxin with some Diplomacy: 12 Toxin's resist with Will: 15 Nope, still wanna kill Casanova. Ms. Scorpion strikes at Stormcrow with her one action: 12, that's a miss. Chump breaks the Snare, since his Strength has a +15 bonus, which is 5 more than the Snare's Rank. He uses a move action to move to Casanova. And then @Heritage is up! 27 - Bluebird - KO 24 - Paper - 4HP - Unharmed 22 - Stormcrow - 6HP - Unharmed - Master Plan 3 (not yet active) 22 - Ms. Scorpion - Bruise (x1), Staggered 22 - Chump - Unharmed 19 - Shift - 2HP - Unharmed 18 - Ghule - 1HP - Bruise (x1) 18 - Toxin - Unharmed 16 - Casanova - KO - Grappled by Nightscale (Bound & Helpless), Caught in Muirne's rank 10 Snare (Bound & Helpless) 12 - Multi-Girl - 1HP - Unharmed 11 - Nightscale - 4HP - Unharmed 10 - Shadowborne - 3HP - Unharmed 5 - Minions - x10 - KO
  14. Spaceman Lawrence seems so much more at home in this entire situation than Parker, but he seems to know everyone too, not just the students from Claremont, and... then he brings them over to actual Freedom League members and a couple of graduates. Go big or go home, right? Fleur de Joie and Grimalkin. Parker just stares for a moment, before catching himself. He should be better at things like this. He had been at plenty of social events like these with his parents, but not... not with super heroes. Finally catching himself, he starts offering his hand to any of the people around them. "Hello, I'm Parker. I'm... I call myself Spaceman." For some reason, the word play in his heroic identity sounded really silly right now.
  15. Spaceman Parker had considered to offer Baz something to wear. His parents' tailor probably wouldn't mind trying to make something, especially not if paid well enough, but he had hesitated. He didn't want Baz to feel like he had to take handouts like that. Parker isn't looking too comfortable about being there as they get out of the car, however. Sure, he's attended big parties before, it comes with his parents' position, but he has never liked it. Too many people, too much noise, and too many people that are just plain unlikeable. Maybe it will be better at a party full of super heroes. He is dressed well, at least, in a tailored white suit, with a black dress shirt underneath and an almost, but not quite, golden tie, making the whole ensemble look almost like his uniform, though he has not worn it at Claremont yet. "Do you guys see anyone we know yet?" So many well known heroes. Parker's not sure if he should really be here.
  16. The 15 hits, you don't need to reroll, so I'll save you the HP. Reflex save: 9 (the roll says 7, but I accidentally lowered it by 4 from his dex-4 from entangled, anyway, doesn't matter) Chump is bound and helpless. Give me an IC @Spacefurry and I'll follow up. 27 - Bluebird - KO 24 - Paper - 4HP - Unharmed 22 - Stormcrow - 6HP - Unharmed - Master Plan 3 (not yet active) 22 - Ms. Scorpion - Bruise (x1), Staggered 22 - Chump - Snared (Rank 10, Bound and Helpless) 19 - Shift - 2HP - Unharmed 18 - Ghule - 1HP - Bruise (x1) 18 - Toxin - Unharmed 16 - Casanova - KO - Grappled by Nightscale (Bound & Helpless), Caught in Muirne's rank 10 Snare (Bound & Helpless) 12 - Multi-Girl - 1HP - Unharmed 11 - Nightscale - 4HP - Unharmed 10 - Shadowborne - 3HP - Unharmed 5 - Minions - x10 - KO
  17. Charlie frowns, and for once, he doesn't bother to hide his feelings. Regret. At leaving, or on making Bernadette feel that conflict? That's harder to say. After a moment of hesitation, he replies. "Well, here's the thing," he pauses briefly, as he pulls her closer under the mistletoe. "now I'm here to stay."
  18. GM Chump takes the blow without trouble. It takes more than that to hurt him. And yet, Multi-Girl can see something in his face. He looks worried, but he doesn't look at her. He looks past her, towards Casanova. A worry that goes beyond his friend simply being knocked down. Lo! 'tis a gala night Within the lonesome latter years! An angel throng, bewinged, bedight In veils, and drowned in tears, Toxin staggers forward still. She is angry, but it looks almost like her body is not her own still, like she still has to get used to moving on her own free will, after so long in Casanova's thrall. She is cursing, starting to open up the suit at her hands, to use the deadly touch for which she is named. She makes her intentions clear. To kill Casanova, and any in her way. Sit in a theatre, to see A play of hopes and fears, While the orchestra breathes fitfully The music of the spheres. Sebastian Shields, Casanova, has fallen, no longer held by shadowy tendrils or the might of a dragon. He gasps on the ground. His eyes open. He is barely conscious, looking around with eyes that barely registers what he sees. He is clearly out of the fight, and yet, the strange dark tendril of energy that connects him to Shadowborne is still there. They are still connected. Mimes, in the form of God on high, Mutter and mumble low, And hither and thither fly— Mere puppets they, who come and go Ms. Scorpion holds her nose, as she tries to keep her distance from Stormcrow. And she smiles. At bidding of vast formless things That shift the scenery to and fro, Flapping from out their Condor wings Invisible Wo!
  19. Spaceman After nodding at Mizuki as she joins the group, Parker frowns at the thought of Vicki's father actively trying to put her out of the way, especially if it is because of her powers, which Baz of course shares his opinion of in his usually sensitive way. "Not to put words in your mouth, Vicki, but I imagine that's why she's here, Baz," he calmly states. "If I'm right... Are you alright with this, Vicki? About him putting you out of the way like this, I mean?"
  20. The STORMCROW "Use me and lose me, huh?" Charlie replies, sounding a bit hurt, even if he is still grinning. Maybe he means the tone, maybe he is just pretending. It is difficult to tell with Charlie, when he doesn't want to be read. Of course, that doesn't slow him down, and his continued response is just as playful as Bernadetta. "I suppose that depends on what kind of ideas you have for the night."
  21. The STORMCROW Charlie looks at each of the Claremont students in turn, smiling and nodding at them, while his information comes up on the HUD on the glasses as he looks at them. They're an interesting bunch, that's for sure. As varied as him and his friends were at Claremont, though Bernie is still there. Alek would disapprove of them being told who he was out of costume though, but at least the Charlie that he had been at Claremont was a different guy in many ways... at least this is an all heroes event. "Wait, you're fanboying over me?" He could probably hide the surprise from his voice if he wanted to, but he lets it show. "And I... Yeah, I think that'll wait for another time. Later!" He lets himself be pulled away by Bernadetta, not that he really minds. "A mistletoe, huh?" he asks innocently, his smile genuinely happy. "And boyfriend? What have you been telling the new students about us?"
  22. That does indeed hit, but denied with a TOU save at 33. Give me an IC, and then @Nerdzul is up next
  23. Spaceman What is going on? There is nothing around him, no distance, everything is there and not there, and then he falls. Not being able to see anything here, not being able to feel where anything is, it is... disorienting is not the face right word. What did he do? What is happening? He is falling. He can't stop himself. There is nothing here. Nothing he can change his distance to, and... He is back. Parker is blinking and sweating, but he is back in the trophy room where they first arrived. There are things around him, he can hear muffled shouts from the others. He takes a moment. He has to. The reality warper clearly does not want them breaking the rules of their game. Fine. He'll play. Parker focuses, and then, he is gone once again, reappearing in the middle of the rest of them. "I'm fine! I'm fine, don't worry." No he's not. "Seems like you were right about our... host... not wanting us to break the rules," he continues to Carmen. Play along, then. "Don't worry. I got it." He steps towards the door and focuses, increasing his body's density instead and then starts to pry the door open. Play along. Then find something he can do about this.
  24. Now that is something, even better than just Bernie's singing, she now brings in her dupes. The young man wonders how she explains that to the venue, if they're getting paid, or if they're just paid as a full band... still, it's good, and it's a nice show. He can't say that objects to seeing Bernie and her duplicates dancing around on the scene and singing. He kind of want to step out, let her know that she's there, but not yet. He should wait. So, he sticks to the crowds and enjoys the show.
  25. Spaceman "Y'know, Hawaiian pizza was created in Canada," Parker joins in on the food banter. "I looked it up once. It's a whole thing." He decides against doing the whole story right now, anyway. No need to do anything to build on the appearance of him feeling superior to the rest of them. "Cafeteria sounds good, though. Letting go like that always leaves me starved."
