Spaceman Parker appears in the middle of the group, having shifted his distance to get there. He doesn't use that trick too often, but it's useful. "Sorry, Mr. Faulks asked me to help him out." By lifting a heavy piece of machinery so he could fix something under it, but he didn't feel like sharing that bit. He nods at Crimson Tiger, watching as she directs the others to punch. "I'm Parker, sorry that I'm late." He is wearing a heavy white winter jacket with fur trim, which is open to show a black t-shirt and a pair of jeans. "Do you want us to use our powers? Or just do a regular punch? It... uh... it kind of makes a big difference for me." he asks Crimson Tiger.

GHOST "No, I guess I'm not" Ghost replies to Grim, though honestly, having her like this? It's something he could get used to. And then the Freedom League alarm goes off, and Grim already knows what's going on. "Then again, seems like I got good reasons, don't I?" he asks, even if he is grinning under the mask. He pulls away and pulls up his x-ray goggles. "Sounds like you know the guy. Wanna tag along?" he holds out a hand and, as soon as Grim accepts it, they disappear. Less than a second later, they're in the meeting room with everyone else, appearing just as Fleur finishes talking. "Sorry I'm late. Hope it's alright I brought Grim." Tensions are high in there, it seems. He's read about Archeville. Never met him directly, just dealt with the fallout from some of the things he's done. "Think I'll just sit down."

GM Or it was, at least. Of course, there is nothing that tempts fate like wondering what you should do, saying its a quiet night or contemplating toasting marshmallows in radioactive green fire. Down the street, from not far away, there is a mighty roar, followed by a scream. As the groups look out over the edge of the roof, they see a small figure, a kid, maybe twelve years old, clad in heavy clothing to stay warm, rushing out from around a corner between two buildings, running as fast as they can. And then with another roar, the pursuer appears. A mighty beast, a tyrannosaurus rex, follows, sliding on the slick ground before crawling up and giving chase once more. It is wearing a human sized black top hat. "CEASE, DESIST, GIVE UP! YOU CANNOT ESCAPE, GET AWAY OR RUN! GIVE BACK WHAT YOU HAVE STOLEN FROM ME! SO SAYS, PROCLAIMS, SHOUTS THESAURUS REX!"

Spaceman "Don't talk about someone's mom like that," Parker says, a bit of laugh to his voice as he playfully pushes Baz's shoulder lightly. "C'mon, that's just..." Whatever serious thoughts he had about Lawrence keeping this from him are clearly gone after Baz's statements. Alright, he can understand Lawrence's way of thinking. It isn't like he is going around announcing that his parents are the owners of Powers Holdings or that his sister runs the company. "Yeah, it makes sense. I get it. But still... your mom is Velocity. That's pretty awesome." He is grinning at Lawrence as she speaks, before turning back to Baz. "Sorry Baz, I guess we just wait around or start moving? Guess it's just a quiet night, right?"

The STORMCROW "Don't worry. The League got it. Otherwise, I'm sure everyone here will just pile on, and that'll just be a mess," Charlie says, as he moves in closer for a moment, before pulling back. He's good, but Bernie is better, not that he minds. It beats his training, by far. "No, no, you misunderstand. He trained me. Like, as my dancing partner." He pauses, while he moves in closer again for a moment. "The slow dances were very awkward." And he had made sure to delete all the security footage of that. "And sometimes he made me wear the vest. Trust me, you do not want to know about the vest. Just imagine that it's horrible."

GHOST "Neat trick," Ghost says, as Grim grows while he holds on to her. It's a weird feeling, her proportions changing in his hands, her hand and waist shifting and then... She is just there. "Yeah, if you're fine with it, at least." Casper does his best, but he didn't lie. He is in no way a good dancer. The only reason that he isn't constantly stepping on Grim's toes is that he keeps ghosting his feet just before he woulds step on them. "Sorry, but I told you I wasn't any good at this. Still, it's pretty nice." One of Grim's hands in his hand, his other still on her, he does his best. Maybe things are finally looking up a bit for the Ghost?

The STORMCROW Charlie can't help it. He should be focusing on Bernie here, letting others deal with Archeville... but... "Seems like there's some trouble happening." He doesn't want to lie to her about things. Then, the feed on his glasses show Ashley confronting him. Alright. Then it should be dealt with. "Seems like Patriot's handling it, so they should be fine." Taking Bernadette's hand, Charlie leads her out onto the dance floor. "Would you believe that the Raven trained me in dancing too?" he asks, grinning at her. True or not? He's not letting it show.

The STORMCROW The door opens, and a young man with red hair steps in. He is wearing a heavy black winter jacket with light grey trim. He is wearing a darker grey beanie over his head, with a little bit of red hair peeking out from under it. Charlie is smiling, as he usually is, while he shakes some heat into his body. He is wearing the same pair of glasses that Michael saw him wearing at the christmas party. Stepping closer, he unzips the jacket, revealing a black dress shirt and a light blue tie with stylized white birds printed on it. "So... I guess this is where you work?" As he walks closer, he pulls out a small device, a little ball with a button, and presses the button. Any cameras or the like inside the shop starts looping the footage from just before Charlie entered.

Spaceman "Right," Parker just responds to Baz's talk. Honestly, he likes Baz, but he is also just a lot to deal with sometimes. "Short of it: There's a lot of things to do here outside classes and studying. Besides, there's a lot of things to do out in the city. It's not like we're not allowed to leave the school." Sure, they aren't really allowed to go out and be super heroes, but from what he's gathered from other students, it's common enough, but probably something that shouldn't be said where everyone can hear.

GM The bone glove smacks into Toxin's armored face. There is a cracking sound, and she slowly turns to look at Ghule. The look in her eyes behind the dirty visor is a mix of pain, anger and fear. Out—out are the lights—out all! And, over each quivering form, "You don't understand! He has to die! He's..." She stops and stares at Ghule, then reach out, a burning touch from her hand as she yells. "To hell with you! Get out of my way!" Acid burns from where Toxin opened her suit, pressing her hand against Ghule's abdomen, where it begins to burn through clothes and flesh. The curtain, a funeral pall, Comes down with the rush of a storm.

That's a hit, with +3 to DC, for DC26. TOU save: 29 Toxin tanks the hit! She is pissed and attacks Ghule with an acid touch: 18, which is enough to hit. @Lone_Star: Give me a DC25 TOU save. Spaceman "I'm just... I just think I'm going to take a few steps away from that..." Parker says, looking at the faint glow. Baz is a great guy, even if he's weird, but he's a bit too casual about the radioactivity. Stepping back, closer to the edge of the roof, Parker shrugs at Lawrence's question. "I don't know. Just feels weird. Like deja vu, like I said." He stops. "But while we wait, I never did catch up about your mom after the big reveal at the party!" The slightly worried expression turns to a grin. "C'mon, your mom's Velocity! How did you keep that a secret?"

GHOST Casper stops in his tracks, staring at Grimalkin as she turns. Yeah, that motion does all kinds of interesting things to her dress. "Yeah, uh, just... just a sec." Ghost quickly pulls his mask up, raises the glass to his lips and empties the champagne, before putting it down on the tray of a passing server without looking. Holding his hand out, he offers it to Grim, while he pulls his mask down again with his other hand. "I gotta warn you, though. I'm a terrible dancer." At least he's got enough control not step on any feet.

The STORMCROW Charlie flinches for a moment, pausing as a message pops up on the upper left corner of the HUD on the inside of his glasses. Doktor Archeville had arrived to join the party. Charlie had never met the man, but he had been in the files that Alek had made him go through on numerous occasions. Should he do something? No. Probably not. The Freedom League is here, and according to the feed in his glasses, it does not seem like Archeville is here for trouble. He shakes it off instead. He can keep an eye on things, but there's people here more qualified to deal with Archeville if there's trouble. People with history. "Well, let's party then," Charlie says, holding out a hand and smiling at Bernadette. "Unless you just want to find another mistletoe, of course."

GHOST "Sure. Better you than me," Ghost says, raising a glass that he had grabbed while they chatted in a toast. "Knock 'em dead." So, what now? Hang around and wait? Go look for more food? Or maybe... Ghost perks up a little bit when he notices two people that he knows. He smiles under his mask, as he begins literally moving through the crowds, floating through several people, most either calling out to him to cut it out, or just at him, clearly creeped out. Finally, he moves through the back of a man dressed in a nice tailored suit, raising his glass to Grimalkin and Fleur de Joie as he comes through in his costume with the added red butterfly. "Grim, Fleur! It's been a while, how are you?"

The STORMCROW Charlie is already by the side of the stage when Multiplicity leaves to cheers, smiling widely at each in turn. "You were great! Even better than last time I caught a show!" Well, maybe he shouldn't have said that, but hey, he can always tell Bernie what he means later, if she catches it. "So, what's up next?" he asks, before stopping as Velocity pulls off her mask. "Huh. I did not see that coming." He doesn't sound as surprised as he is, though. Security's tight here, of course, but there's people like Bernie's band (he has of course made sure to vet them himself), and a bunch of kids around that might catch it, or well, a lot of people. "Sorry, Bernie, but I think she just stole you guys' thunder there."

Spaceman Parker's eyes go wide the moment Velocity pulls off her mask. Before she even says who she is, he is staring at Lawrence, forgetting everything else he had been thinking about before. He recognizes her. He knows her. She is Lawrence's mom! "Your mom is Velocity!?" he exclaims, all pretense of trying to be calm and at home at the party all but gone. "That means... you, your powers... and..." He stops for a moment, shaking his head, when Mizuki moves over to ask him to dance. "Lawrence, we gotta talk later. This is wild." So, this means... Alright. Parker can guess why Lawrence would keep it secret, why he wouldn't want to share it even with him and Baz (or did Baz know?), but Velocity is just fast, right? Not time powers? How would that even... Parker stops himself. It's not something he knows anything about. He will have to talk with Lawrence instead, but... for now, Consuelo has gone dancing, Mizuki is going dancing with Lawrence it seems and... yeah. They completely ignored him. Great. "Hey Baz, I think I see Vicki with Michael and Carmen. I'll head over there and give Mizuki and Lawrence some space." Pun definitely intended. Making his way through the crowds, it takes a moment for Parker to reach Vicki, Carmen and Michael (unless the last two have left). "Hey guys, that was wild about Lawrence and his mom, right?" he asks, before turning to Vicki specificially. "You've known Lawrence for a while, right, Vicki?" he asks. "Me too, but I had no idea. Did they ever tell you anything?"

Spaceman "I don't know," Parker responds, looking over Lawrence. "Seem like it's too cold for anyone to want to try anything." Parker is dressed in a pair of jeans and heavy boots, with a thick white winter jacket over himself to keep warm, all over his Claremont uniform. "Do you guys feel weird?" Parker asks, holding his arms around himself to try and keep warm. "I'm not sure how to explain it. It's like... something big is coming? More than the robbers we usually stop? Kinda like a deja vu?"

GM A Saturday evening in early January... It is dark and cold, but the streets in Southside are active anyway, with people moving around, doing their business, whatever it might be. Southside is not the nicest neighborhood in town, but it is not the worst either. Still, there is a good chance of trouble, and it has been one of the spots where Parker, Baz and Lawrence has snuck out to look for trouble and do some patrols. It has not been a regular thing, but they have done it a few times so far. It has mostly been stopping purse snatchers or would be robbers. Nothing big, nothing that they couldn't handle pretty easily. But today, as they're watching from the top of a building overlooking a street, waiting for anything to happen? They all have a feeling that it might be different.
