  1. REBELLION Elliot had turned to walk away, but paused, looking down at his phone and the message from Naomi. He turned back to them again, shaking his head. "Maybe. I don't really know what you could do, anyway, but don't worry, I'll deal with these things." He stopped, he looked like he was thinking about something, like a thousand thoughts were racing through his mind all at once. Finally, he took the chance. "Look, if you're looking into MarsTech and everything... maybe try to look into a place called Elysian Academy too. Might be something, might be nothing, but its probably worth a look at least." He quickly turned and walked away.
  2. As discussed in discord, Pan will do a stunt for some Postcognition off his Tricks array, so 28PP to play with: Super-Senses 9 (Visual Postcognition, Audio Postcognition, Time Sense) [9PP] + Enhanced Trait 2 (Search +8; Flaws: Limited [Can only be used when perceiving events with Postcognition]) [1PP] + Quickness 9 (Flaws: One Type [Mental], Limited [Can only be used for skills related to Postcognition]) (Mental Tasks x1000) [3PP] {13/28PP} (Descriptors: What Happened Here?, Magic, Pixie Dust, Enhanced Senses) Just in case you don't like those limited flaws, there's plenty of PP left over. Making a Notice and a Search roll to see how much he finds out. Notice: Taking 20 at x1000 mental speed for a total result of 35. If you'd rather I don't take 20, then 25 Search: Taking 20 at x1000 mental speed for a total result of 30 (or 22 if you don't like the enhanced trait for Search +8 in the stunt). If you'd rather I don't take 20, then 29 (or 21 if you don't like the Enhanced trait for Search +8 in the stunt)
  3. GM "We'll be fine!" Gepetto's voice was a growl, its volume raised by a strange wooden megaphone like device he was holding up to his mouth. Ahab shook, pulling the harpoon from his shoulder where it had hit. Sparks flew from the spot where his mechanics had been punctured by his weapon weapon. "I will kill you for that!" His voice was deep, darker than before. Calm, no more roars or threats, just a coldly stated fact.
  4. Pan talks. Ahab clears his Daze. And Gauss has a choice to make! 22 - Forever Boy - 4HP - Unharmed 17 - Ahab - Bruise (x1), Entangled (ATK/DEF-2, Dex-4) 11 - Gauss - 3HP - Unharmed
  5. Forever Boy Pan stopped, pausing, looking at Selena. "That is their story, is it not?" he asked, reaching a hand out towards the people on the ground below them. "The whale is diving. If you want to escape, then now is the time. Who knows where it will go?" Still, he seemed to hesitate, like he wasn't quite sure whether to go, or not. "We have to make a choice. Stay, remaining trapped until the Whale surfaces, where no one know, or go, and maybe we can save everyone one day."
  6. "What remains? And who is she?" Pan had entered the room, feet gliding across the floor with just a little glitter left behind as he entered the room. He had thrown on the same shorts that he had worn yesterday, but wasn't wearing much else. He yawned and stretched, looked around and paused, stopping a few feet away from Eira. Realization dawned on his eyes as he took in the scene. "This was... you?" he asked Eira, hesitating just a tiny bit. He was slowly waking up, slowly figuring out the scene, eyes moving from the pictures, to the hole in the wall, to the spot where something was clearly missing. "What is this room?"

  8. 20Q Even super heroes have to go to the dentist... and as usual, Mette had to wait. It took forever. She looked at the magazine on the table and groaned. She remembered this issue... a quick 20 questions interview she'd given right after she had gotten her powers. It had a cover date for March 2018. It seemed like forever ago, but there was nothing else, so she picked it up and flipped to the page. 20 questions for the new Little Mermaid from our readers! Alright, first question here. Danny wants to know: Where are you from? "I'm from Copenhagen, but I'd like to consider myself part of Denmark on a whole." Mia asks: How did you become the new Little Mermaid? "I've always loved the Little Mermaid, she was my great hero. She asked me to take over from her while she retired, and how could I say no to that, right?" That's awesome! Got some hero worship going there, huh? Leads nicely into the next question from Lasse: How did you meet the first Little Mermaid? "Man, that's not really a great question to answer. Don't need anybody trying to find out who I really am, y'know. Anyway, short answer: She saved me at one time, we hit it off, she taught me some things, and that's that." Mysterious! Peter wants to know: Why do you do it? Like, why do you go out and put yourself on the line for people you don't even know? The Little Mermaid looked a bit pensive at this question, taking a moment to compose herself before she responded: "I was given this power for a reason, right? The first Little Mermaid choose me to do this. I can't just stand around and do nothing when people are in danger and I could help them." Right on! Molly asks: Are you going to team up with the Snow Queen, Danish Dynamite or Jens Vejmand? It would be cool if you would all join up and make a team! "That would be cool, but I don't really see it happening. We're all kind of split up as it is, and there's a lot of ground to cover. I'd love to team up with the Snow Queen some day, at least, or to join a super team!" And we got a question from Mette: Is there anything that you're afraid of? "Sure, I know I got all these powers, but I'm really just a regular person, y'know. The thing I'm most afraid of is probably failing to save someone. I don't know what I'd do if that happened." That does sound kind of scary! Kasper asks: I miss the old Little Mermaid, she was way better at this than you. Any chance we could get her back? "Ow." The Little Mermaid laughed a bit at this question. "That's harsh, Kasper. I'm doing my best here. She's my big hero, you know, and all of this is a pretty big responsibility. Its been a while since I last saw her, but she was pretty adamant about not being able to come back, even if she wanted to. She was a hero for almost 20 years, you know. She just can't keep going anymore." Elizabeth wants to know is there's anything that you really like or hate. Just a quick answer now! "Sure. I absolutely love swimming and the sea, but that's kind of expected, I guess. I'm a big fan of rock music, I love Kim Larsen. I guess I hate people that try to hurt others, but I'm not sure that's the right word?" Thomas thinks you're cool, but wanted to ask about your family. Do they know that you're a hero? What do you think about it? "Alright, getting just a bit too personal with the questions here. Not gonna reveal if they know or not, but I got a perfectly good relationships with my family. They're very supportive of everything I do." Hey, I'm just reading the questions here, but I'll try and see what I can do! Here's a good one: Signe asks how you're feeling? Is it hard work to become a hero? It has to be mentally draining to be out there fighting all day. "It can be pretty taxing, I'll give you that, but I'm balancing things pretty well so far. Helping people is its own reward, y'know. Better to help someone than to let them get hurt." See, we're getting better here! Pelle thinks you're great, but he thinks you could do better! You could probably take down all the bad guys if you really put in the work for it! Get the litterbugs, the smokers and everyone too! "That's kind of extreme, don't you think?" The Little Mermaid looked at the reporter with a raised eyebrow at this question. "I don't really have any ambitions like that. I'm just one person, I can't stop all crime in Denmark on my own. I'm not against fighting crime in general, you've seen me catching robbers and all that, but I just want to keep people safe. That's my number one priority, right now." I have to agree with you there. Keep it down, people. Now, let's see... Ronja asks if you're Christian or worries about religion at all? Huh, kind of a weird question! "I don't really see how that matters. It shouldn't matter what religion you practice or where you're from, right? I'm just going to say that I believe in magic, alright?" Works for me! Sebastian says that Denmark really doesn't have a lot of super people, which is true! He would like to know how you feel about your unique position as one of Denmark's few super heroes? The Little Mermaid breathed out heavily, before grinning at the reporter. "Well, its, a lot you know? I am in a pretty unique position, the others have been doing this for a while and I'm the first of us to take up the name and powers of someone else, right? Sometimes, it feels like I gotta work extra hard to make everyone take me seriously. Don't get me wrong, I love being a hero, but I gotta put in the work too, and it can be tough. I gotta make my mark, right?" You already do! Kasper got a question related to that: How do you feel about Denmark not having a lot of super humans? America got a ton of super people, there's a lot more in the rest of Europe, but Denmark's a bit behind. How does that feel? "Its just how it is, I guess? It just means we gotta work harder to make sure everyone is safe. Still, it is a bit weird." So weird! Thor wants some details! You're strong, you swim fast, you control water! What's your greatest power? "Thinking quickly." The Little Mermaid grinned. "See, I come up against all sorts here. Its important that I do the right thing in the right situation, so I gotta move quick and think fast." Alright, I'm a bit uncomfortable about this next question, but Pia wants to know how you feel about immigrants and Muslims coming into our country. "Really? You really want to go there?" The Little Mermaid did not seem amused by this question, readers! And who could blame her? "I don't care? What do you want, Pia? For me to only save people with white skin? That's ridiculous. Everyone's people, everyone deserves a chance, and I'm gonna keep everyone safe." Thank you, and I'm sorry about that. So, how about something a bit lighter: Jesper asks if there's some hero somewhere that you'd really like to team up with. "I would love to be able to team up with the Freedom League at some point. Maybe join? I dunno, its kind of out of my reach." Much better! Stine asks about your eating habits! What do you like? What do you hate? "Aw, I absolutely love strawberry ice cream. I know its not healthy, but sometimes you just gotta down from a long day of fighting bad guys, right? And I hate eating fish! I used to love sushi, but once you've actually talked to fish it feels really weird to eat them." Yeah, I get that! Makes sense! Oh, hey, Mikkel has a big question for you here: Remember, I'm just the messenger! Brian asks: Little Mermaid, are you seeing someone? How do they feel about you being a hero? "Nope, I'm single. Spending so much time in costume doesn't really leave a lot of time for dating, y'know." And as a final question, Brian got a follow up! I'm just gonna read it here: I'll date you! Please be my girlfriend! I'd totally support you and get ice cream ready for when you get home! The Little Mermaid laughed, a happy little laugh, wiping tears from her eyes before she replied. "Sorry Mikkel, I'm not exactly high maintenance, but I'm gonna need a real connection with anyone I decide to date, and I'm really not gonna pick anyone that loves me just for being the Little Mermaid." ... Mette put down the magazine as she was called in. So much time had passed since she gave that interview, it was kind of surreal.
  9. Once upon a time… Mette had watched the water splashing against the Little Mermaid statue at Langelinie too many times to count, but she was pretty sure that this was the first time she was here on Christmas Eve. There was just something calming about it, something that just felt right. The waves crashed against the rock, the wind catching her hair, and the statue out there, sitting among the splashing water. It was a quiet evening. Only a few tourists around, which was a rarity, but it probably made sense on this day of the year. The nearby restaurant with the view of the statue had closed down for the evening. Snow was falling, and it was all very idyllic, quiet and serene. Mette had to admit that she was starting to feel a bit cold, even with her thick dark green jacket. She kind of wondered why she was here. She was seventeen years old. She had better things to do on Christmas Eve than hanging out near a fairy tale statue, right? Her family was probably wondering when she was getting home from her walk. But, Mette wasn’t just an ordinary girl, was she? She smiled to herself at the memories. No, she was pretty much the Little Mermaid’s sidekick. She had been running around with her hero for five years, helping out however she could. Solving crimes, staying out of the way when fists started flying. She had even seen the Snow Queen once or twice, when she had teamed up with the Little Mermaid. It was cool. She was cool. It wasn’t something she could really share with her friends or family or anything, but she didn’t mind. It was her secret, and it was a great one. Her friends were worried about boys, about what they were going to study, where they wanted to go in life. Mette? She was busy figuring out a super villain’s weakness, helping the Little Mermaid with mapping a number of fissures that kept spewing out Trolls and hanging out with a super hero. To tell the truth, she felt pretty awesome. Even all alone on Christmas Eve, standing here at Langelinie, looking out at the Little Mermaid statue on the rock in the bay, she felt awesome. Things were only getting better from here, right? “You spend way too much time looking at statues, you know that, right?” Mette perked up. She knew that voice. She almost knew it better than her own mother’s voice at this point. To be fair, she did spend way more time together with this older woman than she should, but hey, this was the Little Mermaid! She was Mette’s hero! Mette turned to face her, a greeting already on her lips, and then she froze. This was the Little Mermaid, this was her hero, she was sure of it, but she wasn’t in her costume. This was the first time that Mette had seen her like this. She was a woman somewhere in her late 40’es, maybe early 50’es, with long dark red hair that tied into a long ponytail, with a few grey hairs here and there. She wore a plain dark grey jacket, nothing like her usual red, white and green costume. The Little Mermaid smiled, but she looked tired. “Where’s your costume?” Mette finally asked, hesitating. Was this it? Was the Little Mermaid going to reveal her secret identity to her? Mette was just about ready to let out a squeal at the thought. She immediately felt stupid for asking a question like that. The Mermaid smiled and shook her head. “Don’t worry about it, Mette.” She walked closer and stopped next to Mette, looking out at the statue. “Just felt like coming here tonight, or something on your mind?” Something on her mind? Not really? “Guess I just wanted to get a look at the statue at Christmas time?” she offered, not really sure what her hero was trying to ask. “Its kind pretty with the snow and everything, isn’t it?” “Sure.” The Mermaid hugged herself, shivering slightly in the cold. “You know, there’s something I’ve been meaning to talk to you about.” Mette turned away from the statue to look at her again. The Little Mermaid was smiling. It was kind of weird to look at her like this, without her mask. “You’re seventeen today, right?” Mette nodded. “Yup.” Kind of a weird question. It wasn’t like there was anything special about turning seventeen, right? Mette’s hero grimaced, before returning to the smile. “I would have preferred to wait another yet, I guess, but it can’t be helped. C’mon, I gotta show you something first.” She raised her right hand. The water in the bay split apart, leaving a dry path to the statue. The Mermaid climbed down, followed by Mette. She quickly led her sidekick towards the statue. “We’ve spent a lot of time together, right?” The Little Mermaid reached out and touched the water as a fish swam by, her fingers touching its side. Mette watched, utterly fascinated by the sight. Things were usually much more hectic when they met. It was rare that they had a quiet moment like this, where they could just walk, talk and hang out. “Yeah, lots of action I guess. I’ve learned a ton of stuff helping you out.” The Little Mermaid climbed up the rocks, until she stood right next to the statue. It was kind of weird watching her this close to the statue. They were named for the same fairytale, and yet, they looked almost nothing alike. Still, there was some resemblance. There was something about those eyes. “So, do you think you’re ready?” the Little Mermaid finally asked. That was a loaded question, wasn’t it? Mette grimaced as she climbed up the rocks, until she stood next to the statue. She reached out and touched it. She had always kind of wanted to try that. It was slick. “Ready for what?” The older woman reached out and touched the statue. Its eyes started to glow with a soft golden light, followed soon after by its hair, tail and then the rest of it. Mette felt strange, like something was streaming into her, like something was changing. She looked up at the Little Mermaid as she said the words that Mette had never realized that she had wanted to hear this badly. “To become a hero, of course.”
  10. GM Barry returned, two pairs of rather heavy protective goggles on a platet in front of him, held gingerly on his flippers. He held it out to Blackstaff and Oz, waiting for them to take it. "Well, we have not moved yet, but knowing the two, Neil would look for some area with a lot of people. The Yellow Brick Road shopping district, perhaps? Travis would be somewhere up high. As high as he could get." He paused briefly, and started searching his pockets. "Ah, yes, yes. Treats." He finally found something in his pockets, pulling out a pair of small brown paper bogs. Each had the name of one of the pets listed on it. "These should do just fine!" He held them out, waiting for Oz and Blackstaff to take the bounty he held in his hand.
  11. GM Oh no, oh my, these party crashers were causing quite a stir, disrupting the lovely little Tea Party. What was worse, they were actually hurting Bill the Lizard! And he was such a nice lizard too, all happy and smiles, helping the party goers find their way to the party! That simply would not do! As if by one, the people trapped in the White Rabbit's thrall swarmed towards Bill the Lizard, or, more accurately, towards Protectron and Visionary. They moved quick, far quicker than they would have thought, and then they were on them, grabbing and tearing and holding and just generally getting in the way of the heroes. A few even tried to jump towards Justice as she raced along the wall and the flying Waverider, but they were out of reach!
  12. The Tea Party guests swarm the area, trying to get hold of anyone on the ground! Treat is at a Rank 10 Area Snare! @Dr Archeville @Growth Spurt Give me a DC20 Reflex save for the Area effect, then a DC20 or DC15 Reflex Save for the Snare effect, depending on whether you make the first save or not. @EternalPhoenix you're up As a general note: The Tea Party Guests are now swarming around Bill the Lizard, Protectron and Visionary. It might making hitting Bill harder. 25 - Waverider - 2HP - Unharmed 22 - Bill the Lizard - Bruise (x1) 21 - Dormouse - Unharmed 19 - Protectron - 4HP - Unharmed, Fatigued 18 - Emerald Spider - 1HP - Unharmed 18 - Justice - 4HP - Unharmed 11 - Visionary - 2HP - Unharmed 6 - Tea Party Guests - 1 Snare Applied
  13. That's a miss. Give me an IC of what you do and I'll follow up with the tea party.
  14. Yep, don't have to ask, just say what you wanna do and roll for it, then I'll say what happens. So, give me an attack roll for that.
  15. Justice Everyone was going straight for the Lizard, and the Mouse just disappeared. This was weird. They looked like Wonderland rejects or something, but then again, that made a certain kind of sense for someone calling himself the White Rabbit, didn't it? Taking down the Lizard and the Mouse had to be priority, no question there, but still, all these people around them were starting to look really unhappy with the party crashers. They couldn't hurt them, they had just been trapped by whatever the White Rabbit was doing to them, but they had to do something before they hurt themselves. Fortunately, Robin had many useful devices. Reaching into a portal she pulled out a Snare Grenade. She turned her bike up towards a wall of a nearby building, quickly driving up it as she dropped the grenade behind her. It didn't explode where it hit among the ground, instead a wire mesh rapidly expanded from it, quickly growing larger and ever more complicated, trapping anyone caught in it. "Everyone, watch out for people here! We gotta keep 'em safe!" Maybe the others would listen? She hoped they would, at least.
  16. Justice throws a Snare at some of the Tea Party Guests to try and keep them out of trouble: 22 That's a hit, with some of them getting snared. She drives along the wall to get out of reach and closer to bad guys. As a reminder: The guests are more of an effect than an actual enemy to combat. Applying effects to them will affect what their effect can do. @Growth Spurt you're up 25 - Waverider - 2HP - Unharmed 22 - Bill the Lizard - Bruise (x1) 21 - Dormouse - Unharmed 19 - Protectron - 4HP - Unharmed, fatigued at the start of next round 18 - Emerald Spider - 1HP - Unharmed 18 - Justice - 4HP - Unharmed 11 - Visionary - 2HP - Unharmed 6 - Tea Party Guests - 1 Snare Applied
  17. The latter appeared every bit as pleased as the former, though any trace of glow-in-the-dark lipstick that might have found its way to Pan were already gone by the time they walked past the billiards room. He waved after Eira as she walked past, before continuing into the room with the others. "So this is where we will be sleeping, yes?" he asked, directed at Micah or Eira's parents. He did not seem to acknowledge how long he had been gone with Eira, or what they had been doing. He quickly moved towards the billiards table, feet leaving the floor and leaving a golden glitter trail behind him. "Now what is this?"
  18. "None taken." Pan made a slight bow, turning his face slightly up to flash a devilish grin at Judy. "I do not need a boy around to have a good time, either." He winked at her. "Give it some thought, at least." He wagged his finger at Ashley and grinned at her response. "Nice, sure, but not nearly as fun!"
  19. GM Alice looked at Micah over Felix's shoulder. Fear practically radiated from her very being, only the top of her head visible. She shifted. Ever so slightly, for a brief second, she looked like she had when Micah last saw her, then she was back to the appearance she had all the time. "I'm scared, Felix. Don't leave me alone with him." Her delicate fingers held on to Felix's shoulders, kept him close, and then... "Look out! He's going to attack us!" She was panicking! She pushed Felix forward, towards Micah, with more strength than her form should have you think. Not enough force to actually make the two collide, but clearly, Felix was moving towards Micah, and clearly, Micah was starting to throw lightning at Felix and Alice!
  20. Justice Robin nodded at Salvo and moved towards the other evil Justice. It was so creepy to see herself knocked out cold like that, and then... things happened way too quickly. "Wait!" Robin called out, already grabbing a gun out of a portal, already getting into position to take a shot and then... they were just gone. She was left standing for half a second maybe, then she leapt at the USB key and the papers, quickly grabbing them before someone else could, before turning frantically towards Salvo. "We gotta get out of here before. How are you with portals?" She didn't exactly feel good about this whole situation, but it seemed pretty clear how Max Mars had gotten his hands on her tech. The other question was why, then. But they could try and figure that out, right now, they needed to bolt before someone showed up to figure out what was going on. A light touch to the amulet in her belt, and Robin created a bright rainbow colored portal, a doorway in the middle of nowhere, large enough to fit Salvo, if necessary. "C'mon."
  21. GM The moment the pressure was applied and Salvo asked her question, the girl was gone. Everything shattered about her. Before Justice could reach the other evil Justice, the girl was by her, kneeling and touching her. "What do you think?" There was a bit of an arrogance to her tone that hadn't been there before. "I don't need this kind of trouble!" Then, they were gone. Salvo's enhanced sensors could maybe grasp at whatever happened, as they broke through reality, a quickly filling hole through reality before they were just gone. A few papers and the USB key that the girl had dropped was still left behind...
  22. That triggers her teleport! She disappears, reappearing next to the other fallen Justice and then they're gone. There's a HP for them getting away. Returning to IC.
  23. REBELLION All of it was almost too much to process, even over the process of months. Dark spells, darker designs, plans to create another Terror, another monster to stalk the night. Was one not enough? Did they really need two at once? Or had something happened to the Terror that had visited Elliot? Elliot dove into the files and books, he was caught. This was more than he had ever found before, the greatest breakthrough yet. He wandered through days at the academy. Rebellion was barely seen during this time. His family rarely saw him, even when he returned. Independence Day was coming up. His father would be home for once. Elliot didn't care much, he had more important things to do. But... Elaine was coming home. That was something. He hadn't seen her for way too long. Elliot was brought out of his studies by the sound from the window. He looked towards it, then finally stood up and approached, looking out for what could have caused the noise.
  24. Reflex vs the Box: 13 16 You catch them both. @Cubismo, you're up. 25 - Ultio Suit Users - KO:1, Trapped: 2 --- Ultio Red: Unharmed --- Ultio Blue: Unharmed 17 - Carnifex - Unharmed 16 - The Dreamer - 0HP - Unharmed 9 - Ultra Girl - 2HP - Unharmd
