  1. Notice: 1d20+5 9 Ms. Thursday sees no evil.
  2. Notice Check: 1d20+1 15
  3. Astrid could have wrapped out Porrklubba and just flew above the somewhat rough terrain as they all traveled across the desert and the foothills in search of the missing scientists, but ultimately decided against it. She found that she oddly enjoyed hiking and the mundane experience of just walking in a land that she never been before. It was serene in a way, though she did still keep in mind they here to help some missing people. When Veronica abruptly stopped the group in their tracks Astrid asked the obvious. "Well? Did you find something?" The Asgardian herself looked around the terrain, trying to see whatever Veronica had already spotted.
  4. Ms. Thursday Föðursystir Sanngriðr (4 posts) Nordic (4 posts) Reptile Brain (3 posts) = 11 IC posts (2PP to Ms. Thursday)
  5. Reaction: Sacrificing another HP to remove Fatigue condition. Move Action: Using Flight on Porrklubba Device to move around 420 Ft. closer to Goanna. Reaction: Spending another HP add Snare 8 (Feats: Accurate 2, Improved Critical 1 [19-20], Precise Shot 1) onto the Powers of Porrklubba Array. Free Action: Switching from Teleport to the new Snare Power on the Array. Standard Action: Attacking Goanna: 1d20+12 27 using All-Out and Power Attack on the Snare. That's a 23 Ref for the Snare. Ending Conditions: Ms. Thursday's Defense is now at 3.
  6. Astrid scowled when she saw that her fake-out attack had failed to do much more than annoy Goanna but cheered when she that Micah was able to at least zap the lizard man's partner out of the fight for good. "That's one down for you, newt! Thinking it might be time to call it quits?" It was a rhetorical question, of course. After all this chaos the Asgardian wasn't exactly in the mood to just let Goanna walk away so he could do this all over again. With that in mind, Astrid started to prep Porrklubba for another attack. Seeing how effective Ben's paralyzation effect was when combined with Micah's follow up attack, she thought up a new spell that would hopefully slow down Goanna just enough to finally drop him later. Using Porrklubba to get back into air and closer to Goanna, Astrid called upon the frosty winds of faraway Niflheim and concentrated that power through Porrklubba to lash Goanna with icy bonds.
  7. Astrid took Sanngriðr's hand to get off her stead, but made sure to give Frárvængr one last pet before she dismounted. Back on solid ground, she took in the new location a the clearing. Astrid could make out and read the runes around the main stone slab easily enough, but the actual monument itself was something of a mystery. "So is this some kind of a monument to a peace meeting after a war?" she asked Sanngriðr before going into a little more detail about her theory. "The Indigenous people here and the Vikings that arrived get into a fight, because of course, but then they found a way to broker some kind of peace?"
  8. Ms. Thursday "And. Here. We. Are!" Astrid exited the fading corona of the Bifröst's multicolored light and took in her new surroundings. On first glance it seemed as if the Rainbow Bridge had dropped them somewhere in the rainforests of the Pacific Northwest and not a great realm beholden to the gods. Dressed in her rocker chic best, Astrid took another step forward and performed the aged old sniff test on the off-chance that the bridge had accidentally sent her and her companions to the wrong place. The demigoddess took in strong scent of something ancient, earthly, and by this point, quite familiar. "Oh, ja," she said turning to the nearby duo of Leroy and Dio. "Definitely aren't on Earth anymore. We're on the World Tree. Sometimes its hard to know for sure when you end on a part of the tree that doesn't have the cosmos' biggest canopies hanging above you, but the sniff test is always a dead give away. No forest or tree on Earth quite smells like this place." Astrid smiled as she admired the view. It had been way to long since she last got to enjoy the rustic beauty of the World Tree. She and her two travelling companions were standing upon what appeared to be the surface of a wild and untamed forest floor. The timeless wildness was all around and beneath them. From the tall ash trees that seemed to form an impenetrable wall of packed together greenery to the maze of thick vines that they stood. Even with the sun breaking through the canopy, the forest wasn't as chilly as one would except for a realm devoted to the Norse gods. That probably had something to do with Muspelheim, the Realm of the Fire Giants, only being a few miles away. That not to distant kingdom of literal fire and brimstone loomed in the distance, with puffs of volcanic ash being clearly visibly on horizon even from this distance. "Welp. Enough gawking for now. Gotta get a move on if we want to reach Muspelheim before the wolves chase Sól out of the sky. Dreki hunting at night doesn't exactly make for decent training. Trust me on that." Astrid was on the verge of blasting off with Porrklubba but stopped herself before summoned the weapon's powers of flight. She was pretty sure Leroy and Dio knew the plan or already, but she supposed it wouldn't hurt to ask before they really started the hunt. "Oh, if you got any more last minute questions about the hunt or the realms feel free to ask. But try ask them while we fly, ja." And with that she was off the ground.
  9. GM The Nine Realms, The Branches of the World Tree Góa (March), Sól Hangs Triumphant (Noon) Our saga begins as so many others have began before. There were three young heroes. One was a prince, another a princess, and the third a faithful friend and mentor. From beyond the realms they would come to the mighty and all-encompassing World Tree Yggdrasil. For what cause you ask? A common one for a saga of young heroism. They intended to find a worthy foe and high adventure in the realm of the gods. But in what you ponder? In a dreki, of course! The great and fearsome winged fire beasts of Norse legend. And so they would travelling upon the rainbow light of the Bifröst and descend upon one of the smaller branches of the World Tree. From there they would begin their perilous journey to the fiery halls and mountains of Muspelheim in search of their blazing quarry. Or would they? There was no telling what kind of mythical beasts they would find and encounter along their intended path. Perhaps the Norns intend from something far stranger and wilder for this heroic saga...
  10. Figuring that Ben and Veronica were going to be the very important persons for this part of the mission seeing as they were the Green Team's best trackers, the Asgardian waited outside with the others while Ben and Danica went about digging through the missing scientist's laundry. When Veronica started to explain a bit more about the archaeologist's mission and the site itself a question popped up in her head. "Hmm. So our missing people were helping survey a long-lost trade hotspot. Sounds cool. But is there anything else here that we should know about? Call me paranoid, but have any of the scientists here found anything... weird I guess? Something really unusual for this kind of dig?"
  11. When they left the veil of rainbow light Astrid's vision was meet with the view of a staggering land and seascape of high cliffs and crashing waves against the shore. Immediately the sight of it reminded Astrid of her own home country of Norway, which quickly put an nostalgic smile on Astrid's face. "Hmm?" she asks, still kind of mesmerized by the view by still able and courteous enough to listen to Sanngriðr's words. "Somewhere important? Like your hometown or something? You're uh... host? Partner? Lives here, yeah?"
  12. As all three started to play in relative if still kind of chaotic harmony, Astrid began to smile. She honestly didn't think they'd get to this point with all the earlier arguments and talk of sky concerts, but right now they were jamming together in a way that reminded Astrid of the tragically short-lived bands she and a couple of her friends back in Norway would habitually try to form. It was a good feeling and Astrid hoped that it would last. Still playing along with the others, Astrid finally broached the question that all bands eventually come to answer. "So what are going to call ourselves?"
  13. Whoops! Well with that being the case I suppose I'll use Extra Effort to surge for another move action so I can teleport out of the away after attacking Goanna with Strike. So things should now play out as so: Move Action: Using Flight on Device to get into Touch range with Goanna. Standard Action: Attacking Goanna using All-Out and Power Attack on the linked Strike + Dazzle. Got a 17 so I'll burn a HP to re-roll into a 21. That's 32 Tough for the Strike and a 20 Ref for the initial Dazzle Auditory and 20 Fort for any subsequent attempts at recovering. Free Action: Switching to Teleport on the Array. (Extra Effort) Move Action: Using Extra Effort surge to Teleport to about 500 Ft away from Goanna. Ending Conditions: Ms. Thursday is at 3 Defense and is fatigued. I'll make the edits in the IC.
  14. Not sure where Ms. Thursday would in relation to what side of Artificer's wall she would be on, but assuming she's on Goanna's side she's going teleport into Touch range with him, attack and immediately teleport back to where she was. Move Action: Using Teleport on Powers of Porrklubba Array to get into Touch range with Goanna. Free Action: Swapping to Strike + Dazzle on the Array. Move Action: Using Turnabout on Teleport to trans-locate back to original position. Ending Conditions: Ms. Thursday is at 3 Defense.
  15. Astrid had to shallow an open sigh of relief when she saw that Goanna had actually let Micah go when threatened. Of course, even with giving up his hostage, it didn't seem like the giant lizard was still unwilling to stop being an idiot and simply surrender. That was worked just fine for Astrid. For better or worse, the Asgardian's angry had been piqued into a righteous tempest that was in desperate need for an outlet. Goanna's serpentine head seemed like just the one she needed. As a liberated Micah called forth his own bolts of lighting and Heroditus summoned a wall of ice, Astrid had been concentrating and chanting in Old Norse to prepare herself for her next attack. When she was finally done, Porrklubba had become alive with charged and snapping electricity. her weapon ready, Astrid immediately blasted off the ground and flew towards her foe. By the time the lizard instinctively turned to see what had made all that noise, Porrklubba was already in position above his head. "Hey ugly! Remember what I said about not even slithering out here?" Less than a second later the lighting wreathed came crashing down on Goanna's head with a thunderous slap that boomed across the zoo. If the madman could see, let alone stand, after taking the hit he would have seen Astrid somehow several hundred feet away and making a very rude gesture with her fingers.
  16. Got a Emerald City PC in the works and with all the wonderful free time I now I'd be willing to take a whack at GM-ing. I got some ideas for MarsTech...
  17. When the brilliant flash of teleporter light fades one of the tallest of the new arrivals breaks from the conjured circle and takes in the expansive desert vista before her. Despite the winter condition, the redheaded teen was dressed like the frontwoman of an eighties punk rock band. She wore a dark ensemble of black ripped jeans, black combat boots, and a black studded leather jacket that went over a bandshirt that had the logo an obscure Nordic heavy metal group. If the lack of proper winter clothing bothered the teenager she certainly wasn't showing any overt signs of it. If anything she seemed to be her element. Astrid took in an inhale of chill winter air. It was much cleaner than the urban air surrounding Freedom City and its cleanliness reminded Astrid of her hometown of Risør back in Norway. The demigoddess allowed herself to enjoy the winter setting and the nostalgic feelings it summoned for a second or two before she hefted her weapon Porrklubba on to her shoulder and causally waved at the camped duo. "Hallo. You guys in need of some heroes?"
  18. Astrid made an internal sigh of relief as Eira seemed to finally let go of the whole sky concert. It might have been a rad thing worth doing, but the logistics and consequences of pulling it off were a bit much, even for her. With that possible disaster avoided, Astrid looked to salvage whatever remaining chances there were of their band actually becoming a thing. The name Hank Williams the Third definitely sounded familiar to her and Astrid promptly searched her mind for some reference to it. Eventually, she found it and started to catch wind of what she suspected Eira was trying to get at. "The drummer for Arson Anthem? The guy's a talent whose totally not afraid to mix up and play around with genres. I like him. In fact..." Astrid went and grabbed another electric guitar in the band room's storage. Quickly plugging it in, she made a couple notes at first but eventually started to play in earnest. Given what Micah had said about his preferences and Eira's mentioning of Hank Williams, Astrid came up with something that she believed fused both country and heavy rock with a touch of melodic thrown in for good measure.
  19. Will Save vs Calm Effect: 1d20+8 28 Passed! Full-Round Action: Intimidating Goanna into letting our fabulous Thunderbird go. Intimidate Check: 1d20+14 22 Going to spend a HP to get a re-roll on that. Intimidate Check: 1d20+14 25
  20. Astrid shot angry daggers at Goanna as the lizard man held Micah in his talons. Her vivid rage was so great that Danica's calming aura utterly failed to bring her any calm in that frenzied moment. She wanted to go all-out. Mash Goanna down with all her might and free her friend. It would have been so satisfying. But a part of her knew that could very well mean Micah's immediate death if she made a move that was just a second to slow. Those two instincts fought for dominance in Astrid's head for what felt like an agonizing eternity. Eventually, one bested the other. For now at least... "Drop him you overgrown newt," Astrid barked through gritted teeth. She hefted her war club up in a wide arc before pointing it straight at Goanna. "Or I swear to all the Gods that you won't so much as slither out of here." She was deadly serious.
  21. Astrid looked towards and the open sky and eye-balled who far up they'd have to be avoid to be get the kind of coverage they wanted and perhaps more importantly avoid sky traffic. "Well, if we're really going to do this I'd say two or three kilometres would be our best bet, give or take." Astrid paused for a second, thinking things over and really absorbing what Micah had just said about the potential fall-out of their little concert in the sky. The Asgardian started to frown. "I think Micah has a point, Eira," she begins to explain, her voice more serious than usual. "I'd really have to push Porrklubba to the limit to make the amount of coverage we'd need. Working together me and Micah might be able to pull if off, but like he said, dealing with the fallout of all that weather warping could cause some serious aftershocks. Honestly, it might not be worth it and Summers would lose it if she found out."
  22. Astrid laughed as she heard Sanngriðr's booming voice over the wind. "You must be a mind reader too because that's exactly want I've been thinking." With Sanngriðr giving her the go ahead, Astrid threw her hands in the air and enjoyed the ride across the city. She kept doing so even when they dropped all way down to street level in view of Freedom City's shocked residents. Summers probably won't be too happy about that if she found out, but Astrid figured that the veteran superhero did not need to know about it anymore than she needed to know about all the other things that Astrid caught up too that weren't exactly keeping with school policy. When they were back higher in the air, Astrid was on the verge of asking Sanngriðr if they were planning flying all the way to Great White North when her question ended up being immediately answered when a familiar flash of rainbow light enveloped them.
