Skaw, Unst, The Ice Maiden December 30, 3:00 PM With nowhere to go for the holidays Phaedra visited with Cathy and her family in the Shetlands. The visit wasn't unpleasant, time spent with Cathy was never unpleasant for the young half-angel, but it did leave her questioning her place in the world. Now she was sitting by herself in a pub halfway around the world, gazing down into her untouched drink and hoping her uncle--of sorts--got her message. And until--or if--he showed up Ms. Morningstar was left alone with her thoughts, in the dead of winter, halfway around the world she doesn't belong in.

Eve's giggle--a sound she thought made her sound too young--was cut short but the ball landing in her lap. Still, she chuckled when Jesse grabbed the ball and she just waved a hand airily, "No harm, just surprised," she said brushing some sand off of her stomach. The brief pause in her conversation with Becky did give the telepath a moment to smile and wave to Mali who finally arrived. "Good to see you Mali," the white haired woman said. "Make yourself comfortable, we have the beach to ourselves." Green eyes watched things for a moment before turning back to the viewscreen with the gorgeous brunette. "So, where were we again....?"

Min was upstairs with Ellie and Mara and she found herself chuckling a little at the blond inventors comments. Sounds of mirth from the dryad had become particularly rare since Terrance and Emily were born. That wasn't the fault of the children, and it was they (as well as Erik, Talya and the other two kids) that often brought that brief smile to her face. No, what made her more dour than usual was the knowledge that one of her sisters was still alive. Still alive and different enough that the Gorgon no longer acknowledged her as one of their own. She had shared a few concerns in confidence with Erik and Talya but even then she was vague on the details. "Perhaps," Min opined from the side, "But half of the joy is in the making."

"No," Min said with a shake of her head, "or at least it didn't feel like it." Her ears twitched at the sound of Steve and Stesha's arrival, and she made a small motion as if to table the subject. "Let's get the children home first," she said her expression softening when she looked at Terrance and Emily. "Then we'll plan an appropriate response to this."

Frowning Min looked one last time on those dying around her before shifting her gaze to Dimitri and nodding once. "Very well," she said as she rose to her feet. "Show mercy." A few moments later she joined her husband and, for lack of a better word, wife. Though the sight of the children did bring a smile to her face from the look in her eyes and the tension in her shoulders Erik and Talya knew something was troubling the dryad. "One of my sisters is alive," she said, her voice flat.

"Which Hell?" Phaedra asked, curious now. There was a brief moment where she was irritated with Peshkov, he shouldn't have been so ready to just allow her to walk, but she suppressed it now that he finally got to something interesting. "There are many Hells," she said, more for Winifred's sake than Frost's, "Throne, my home is among such, but generally speaking it is not one that invades other realms. At least, no invasion would be commanded from the ruling class." She frowned, biting her lip some. "How did people forget?"

Min was busy at that moment trying to save the lives of people who had just moments before tried to take hers. Kneeling down next to Kopesh Min put her plants to work drawing the four that still lived toward her, for Butterfly there was nothing she could do so there was she left to lay. The dryad spared the young woman a look of sorrow and regret before getting to work. The armor encasing the dryad peeled off her torso, twisted and reshaped itself into a dozen thick tendrils, and then crawled across the floor to the four still living rogues. There the tendrils burrowed into the four and it was only then, when she tried to draw out what was mutating and killing them, that Min began to understand the depths of their corruption. It was familiar, a level of manipulation not unlike her own re-purposing of plant life, and when she tried to draw it out the corruption repulsed her efforts. Repulsed and then subverted. It was Min's surprise at the familiarity of the manipulation that the corruption inside the four was able to briefly seize control of her plants, but that brief window was enough and with an agonized and short lived scream Shadows lost the ability to hold herself together. Shocked, then furious the dryad regained control and then promptly killed her plants. She had to, she could hear their agony as they too became corrupted. "I can't save them," Min said quietly. She didn't know if Erik could hear her, probably not since he was occupied. She looked at Katar, whose breathing had stopped, the womans lungs unable to support her massive frame as the corruption tore through her. "I'm sorry."

Eve made a pleased sound when the rest of Becky's swimsuit came into view, a corner of her mind noting and appreciating the Canadian's commitment to the flag motif. Becky must have heard my 'I'm not from Paris,' rant more than a few times, Eve thought. Settling back into her chair, and allowing her mind to wander to more basic thoughts that had nothing to do with flags. "Kitten," she said after a moment, "They're not testing you love, they just want to meet you and discuss wedding stuff." "So please put that aside and stop worrying so much or I'm going to have to tickle your thigh again," Eve said with an impish grin.

Min looked back toward the alcove that held Dimitri, Talya and two babies and allowed the barrier to start slowly unraveling itself while she turned her attention back toward the young woman her husband was attempting to subdue. Sparing a glance at Kopesh, she left the spot was she guarding to kneel beside her husband. "We must accept that we might not be able to save them," she said in a quiet but earnest tone that was the polar opposite of the one she used moments before when she was contemplating literally disarming the people she now wanted to help. "I lack the strength to sculpt flesh, but I could try to stabilize them.. or at least lessen the pain."

The sound of the babies crying actually brought a brief smile to Willow's face, though movement from Hooks brought her attention back to the moment. A smooth application of pressure on his arm reminded him that she could, easily, tear his limb from out of its socket and it was only her kind and gentle nature that kept her from doing so. Shifting her knee off of Hooks back, she grabbed him by the waist with her other hand, hauled him up into the air and slammed him back into the ground.

Emphasis mine. This shouldn't be a thing. The subject is one that is important to all members of the community and they should be permitted to have input. Discussing who is going to write what in the Guidebook is perfectly acceptable in PMs, as well as other organizational tasks. -
"You've earned what, exactly?" Willow finally asked in a voice that could freeze the sun. She used the sword Hooks had embedded in her armor against him, jerking her arm back and forcing him off balance. In one fluid motion the ancient guardian stepped into her attacker, grabbed his clothing and executing a hip throw slamming him into the ground. Hook's arm was held firmly in one of Willow's hands and held at an awkward and uncomfortable angle while her armor encased knee was planted firmly into his back. "Was it pain and torment?," she continued almost conversationally, "That is something I can provide in abundance. I won't kill you, out of respect for my loves, but I will ensure you can't take up arms against anyone ever again."

"Just the leaves? Maybe," Eve said with a grin. "Though I'm not sure I could really pull off the Greek statue look, I just don't have the height for it," she added with a chuckle, gesturing at her torso. She looked past the screen of her phone for a moment, watching everyone enjoying themselves in various ways and judging it good returned her undivided attention to Becky. "Speaking of trips, Mother and Ring would like to fly in one weekend to meet you." She was still smiling, but she shrugged, "Just you three. Mother's just excited but Isabel... do you know she laughed when I said I had a Canadian fiance? She asked if you really existed, I wanted to kick her in the shin." Eve gave her head a little shake, "Getting a little tired of that joke."
