  1. Miss Grue is currently attached to the other Birds of Prey like team in Freedom City, though I am sure neither Eve or the rest of the Castle crew would mind if Daphne stretched her legs some. After all, it's mostly my ennui that's keeping the team from doing anything.
  2. Willow sprinted into the kill box the fulliside of gunfire she drew blowing pockmarks into and chunks out of her armor, but that armor just regrew around her. Growing too, in her wake, were massively thick vines that tore up the ground like hounds loping after their master. Until she reached the center of the entrance when the vines erupted outward, grasping at and curling around the thralls and choking the area with vegetation. What was once a clear area with excellent sight lines became more dense than the heaviest jungle, and Willow faded into it. Near Jack, one plant tendril reached out to brush his cheek, but otherwise he and his allies were unhindered.
  3. Willow is going to vault into the kill box and then use her Envio Control to make a mess of things.
  4. Burn the school down and build a new one on the ashes.
  5. Chance Lebeau Power Level: 8/12 (180/185PP) Unspent PP: 5 Trade-Offs: +5 Attack / -5 Damage, +4 Defense / -4 Toughness In Brief: Dashing rogue tuning over a new leaf. Alternate Identities: Chance Lebeau (Secret) Birthplace: Somewhere Occupation: Gambler, Nightclub Owner, Grifter Affiliations: The Fix, Pier 6 (Nightclub) Family: Child (Deceased) Age: 179 (DoB: 1825) Apparent Age: Early 30s Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 6'1" Weight: 200 Eyes: Green Hair: Blond Chance has always been handsome, sometimes its dressed down and sometimes its cleaned up. He can rock a tux as easily as he can his jeans and battered hat but most of the time, he plays heavily into his good ol' boy southern charm with jeans, jacket and cowboy hat. Tall, blond and tan, without the trappings or scruff, he could very easily blend into a Hollywood gala. He's certainly got the charisma for it. He doesn't look out of place behind his bar, though, as Chance has always been able to blend into his surroundings. History: Chance's family were part of settlers heading out west. Born in 1825, the Frontier was sold to the family as a great land of riches. The trail, however, was a lot harsher than they had ever anticipated. They settled along the border of Texas and Lousiana after Chance's mother died along the trail. Motherless, Chance's father was not the best of role models as gambling and drink took over his life as he drowned in his grief. Still, despite the bad habits that he picked up, Chance grew up and settled down. He married a local girl, and had a child of his own. Despite his best efforts to not become his father, fate had other plans. With the war between North and South, his small family was caught in the middle and despite his best efforts to avoid the entire thing, his wife and child were killed during one of the many skirmishes. With nothing to hold onto, like his father before him, Chance took the only solace he could find. Gambling and drinking away his future, he would have likely ended up in the gutter until by chance he sat down at a game where the only price to enter was the one thing he no longer gave a damn about; his soul. Personality & Motivation: Chance is a man who has lost everything, several times over, and is still on his feet and walking. He tries to make the best of it, really, although Chance would be the first to tell you that if the world was remotely fair, he'd not have been the one 'blessed' with immortality. It's hard for Chance to make attachments but once he does, the threat of loss is an ever present motivation. He tries not to let people get to close - keeping them at an amiable arm's length where they don't actually get much past Chance's charming surface. He's certainly no 'lone immortal', as his bar is ever full and he knows most of their names at a glance. He even likes them. It takes, however, a great deal to actually touch the man behind the mask. He could be anywhere in the world, but he's here in Bedlam. Originally, it was just supposed a stop along the way but one of the few more-than-friends asked for a single favor. "Look after my bar," his old grifting partner asked, and then had the ill grace to die. Chance can't just walk away from that promise but it's just a bar. At least, that's what he tells himself. Powers & Tactics: Chance would rather talk himself out of any problems that might come his way. Just because he can fight, doesn't mean that's ever his go to. For Chance, physical violence is a last resort; the final ace in his pocket. He'd much rather people go for the razzle dazzle of his bluster, or his misdirection. In a conflict, Chance would rather escape. If he has to fight, though, he's all the more dangerous because it means that either he's been cornered with no other option or, worse, one of the very few things he cares about is being threatened. Complications: Deal with the Devil: He's made a deal for his soul and while he's currently got the upper hand, every gambler knows that a winning streak can't last forever. History Catches Up: Two hundred years is a long time to live, Chance has done a lot and seen a lot, and some days that's not a good thing. 7. In order to make sure the Refs accurately count all your IC posts and award you the due amount of power points, please post with a list of all the threads in which your player character, NPC or sidekick posted IC this month (including the News forum). This topic will automatically close on the seventh day of the following month at Midnight EST. Also list any threads which you are GMing. GM posts count as double and can be assigned to whichever of your characters needs a 'push'. 1-14 IC posts = 1PP 15-24 IC posts = 2PP 25-49 IC posts = 3PP 50-99 IC posts = 4PP 100+ IC posts = 5PP When you make your list, post a link to your first post for the month for each IC thread so we can jump right to it. When you start a thread, make sure IC is the first tag and topic prefix of the In Character thread, and OOC is in the first tag and topic prefix of the Out Of Character thread. It's not required, but additional tags including the major players and locations are viewed as a courtesy. Please list your threads in alphabetical order. Please clearly note any threads in which you are both player and GM/running an NPC. Please list your threads in a timely manner. Extending the deadline one week into the following month is already a grace period. If you've done any "extracurriculars" -- artwork, HellQ, 20 Questions, NPC, vignettes, guidebook pages, etc. -- please be sure to list them along with your active threads. For more information on ways to earn power points, see Character Advancement and Awards in the House Rules section of the Guide. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in your post counts being postponed or skipped completely. If you missed the deadline, see this thread.
  8. Trying to narrow down Gail's appearance. She'd obvious be the daughter of Una the Unrelenting and Eldritch if you could get all three into the same room. But Adrian is dead and Una is evil, so ... yeah. I play a MUD called GSIV, and I kind of used it's feature system to organize my thoughts but it comes out a little too matter-of-fact and it needs to be smoothed out. Anyway, my current thoughts: She is taller than average with a lithesome, nimble build. She has narrow, silver-flecked emerald green eyes and mocha-freckled, lightly tanned skin. She has hip-length, raven black hair tucked neatly behind her ears. She has a delicately featured, heart-shaped face, well-defined hawkish nose and classically elegant, chiseled high cheekbones. ... Some things I will want to add are that she often dyes the tips of her hair. As well as general dress and such.

  11. There was a brief knitting of Phae's brow as she considered the price of the information. She still didn't know what that price was but with a threat dangling above her friends she wasn't going to ask. The half-demon was many things, but most importantly she was honest with herself. She feared what the answer would be if she asked what price she'd pay for Keith's information, but she wouldn't have to wrestle with a dilemma if she remained purposefully ignorant. "We wouldn't want to disappoint," she told Keith, releasing her power and tearing open a portal closer to the Fens. She gave her girlfriend a confident smile, and took Cathy's hand into her own. "Let's go make a scene."
  12. Nicci's expression remained solemn for a moment and she nodded once. "I hope to have the same impact in Bedlam," she said. "There is a small Russian mob presence, lead by someone calling themselves the Red Queen, which honestly I kinda like that name. But they're not human, not anymore." She paused to take a sip from her new drink, sighing slightly. "Once I make some headway though, I'll have to make a report to the King. So I'll be in town."
  13. "I do not know," Phaedra admitted. Her own blood was up now, worry mixed with anger and her features were the furtherest away from human Cathy had ever saw, the more she pulled on her infernal heritage. "Please," she said with agonizing patience, "Stop wasting our time. Speak plainly and true, or we are leaving."

  16. Phaedra sighed and set aside her tea. "Thank you for the conversation," she said to 'Keith', "as well as for the tea and attending to Reeke. But I think it is time we should move on." The half-breed sounded calm, almost bored, and she turned to raise an inquiring eyebrow toward Cathy. "Ready to go?" she asked, "if we don't have much time we really should get on with loving and cherishing, yeah?"
  17. Phaedra wasn't sure if Cathy's comment about her appearance was meant to be deprecating--she thought Cathy was gorgeous and that seemed to be enough--but until now it had never occurred to her that someone might think different. Or that someone might disprove of her relationship with another woman so strenuously that they'd wish them harm. As the air chilled, Phaedra reached out to touch Cathy on the arm and gave her a faint smile. Then she turned her attention back toward 'Keith.' "Things getting better, or worse, is just life, so I am told," she said. "But for better or worse I will not abandon her."

  20. Phaedra's outward calm was betrayed by the gradual shift in her features; the lengthening of her nails and canines, and red and black pooling in her eyes. "I will give you a moment to think about your answer to her question," the half-breed said to 'Keith.' "But let me make one thing clear, I have no intention of leaving this realm." She settled back into her chair, crossing one leg over the other and gave the elder demon a curious look. "I am not in Throne because I am aware that, there, I am nothing but a tool for others to use. Or a threat to be eliminated. But here, in this realm and on this world I can be more than that. I'm not here for the sex" Well, not just that, she thought.
  21. Nicola laughed. "I'm fine being the monster," the vampire said, grinning. "But you're right--which I'm sure you're happy that I'm finally listening to you--and I don't need to be so morose about it." To punctuate her remark she downed her Bloody Mary and, licking her lips, she summoned another one from the barkeep. "Still going to unmake the one that made us though," she added quietly while she waited for her drink, raising an eyebrow at her sister-in-death. "Fair?"
