  1. In order to make sure the Refs accurately count all your IC posts and award you the due amount of power points, please post with a list of all the threads in which your character, NPC or sidekick posted IC this month (including the News forum). This topic will automatically close on the seventh day of the following month at Midnight EST. And if you are GMing something, list those threads, too. GM posts count as full posts, and can be assigned to whichever of your characters needs a 'push' to get up in post numbers. 1-14 IC posts = 1pp 15-24 IC posts = 2pp 25-49 IC posts = 3pp 50-99 IC posts = 4pp 100+ IC posts = 5pp When you make your list, please post a link to the IC threads -- preferably to the top of the page where your first post for that month appears (or the post itself) -- so we can jump right to it. When you start a thread, make sure IC is the first tag and topic prefix of the In Character thread, and OOC is in the first tag and topic prefix of the Out Of Character thread. It's not required, but additional tags including the major players and locations are viewed as a courtesy. Please list your threads in alphabetical order. Please clearly note any threads in which you are both player and GM/running an NPC. Please list your threads in a timely manner (1 week after the month is over is pushing it.) If you've done any "extracurriculars" -- artwork, HellQ, 20 Questions, NPC, Vignette, Wiki work, etc. -- please be sure to list them along with your active threads. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in your post counts being postponed or skipped completely. If you missed the deadline, see this thread.
  2. Ardent hung in the air on black wings, watching the battle below. Her soulglaive shimmered into existence near her right hand and suddenly she was no longer flying but plummeting, wings swept back, toward the curtain of blood. Then she vanished, only to reappear in a lurid flash of red light and the smell of sulfur right in front of the sanguine wall. Ardent's soulglaive sank deep into the wall, disrupting the magic that held it together and causing all of that blood to come crashing down in one nightmarish tidal wave.
  3. Ugh, the worst roll in the history of ever. Nullify Magic: 1d20+10 12 Going to spend an HP and reroll. Nullify Magic: 1d20+10 15. Rolled a 5, +10 HP bonus = 25.
  4. I thought I had this topic followed, apparently I did not. Ardent is going to pull her Soul Glaive out of her body, switch it to Nullify Magic, and attempt to disrupt the blood curtain. Tell me what I need to do.

    Act of Union

Eve blinked. She started to speak, opening her mouth only to close it again as she looked at the woman kneeling before her. Intellectually she knew what Becky was saying, what she was doing, but considering how difficult it was for her to be surprised Eve could be forgiven for being completely blindsided by Becky. Eve put in a lot of effort to get here, going so far to get two governments to sign off on her presence (though to be fair her assignment to True North was legit), but it could be successfully argued that Becky put in more effort. "W-What?" she asked, still clearly dazed and trying to catch up.

    Act of Union

A delighted laugh rung through the wintry forest as the petite telepath took in her surroundings. "Amazing," Eve said, her flushed cheeks just as much a result of the now crisp air as it was her previous thoughts. Everything felt so real to most of Eve's senses, the crispness of the snow underfoot to the smell of the trees, though she suspected some of that had to do with the underlying psionic impressions. She shivered a little once the cold managed to push past her sense of wonder, then grabbing her girlfriend's hand she led her into the cabin. The picturesque cabin truly was lifted from Eve's mind, the small decorative touches very much in keeping with what the Frenchwoman would have preferred. There was even a framed photograph of Becky and Eve on the side table near the door, the smaller woman snuggled up to her taller girlfriend.
  7. "I think you look wonderful," Phaedra said. And she meant it, Cathy to her was rather fascinating and certainly not something to be nervous or frightened of. Growing up in a Hell does a lot to alter ones perceptions of what is or is not frightening. Or beautiful. "I'm an abomination," the redhead said after a moment, her voice dropping. "The union of my 'Father' and 'Mother' should not have resulted in me. Their kind aren't supposed to beget. At times some exception is made and that gift is bestowed, but generally it is not a thing that is done, and certainly not between--" Phaedra said something in an archaic tongue, paused a moment and frowned. "Demon and angel," she said after a moment translating the words into English. "Sorry, such terms are so.. limiting."
  8. It was fortunate that the crowd was thinning since Phaedra wasn't certain she could keep up appearances any further, not when she can sense the thread of infernal energy twisting its way further into the park. Her first thought was an assassin, someone sent by her father or one of her mother's rivals, even her mother herself depending on how much further she may have Fallen. With a surge of infernal power of her own, red-tipped black feathers erupted from the half-breeds back in a bloody spray, the half-breed leaped into the air on ebony wings. Hunting now, Ardent rapidly followed after that malevolent twist of magic.

Eve coughed and felt her cheeks heat at the mental image Becky put into her head. Twelve! She silently thought, and a still quieter voice expressed some regret that she wasn't a duplicator. That thought caused Eve to blush even harder. Try as she might she couldn't suppress all of that through their bond, but some of the more graphic elements didn't quite make it across. "Um?" the telepath said, sounding distracted. "Let's see that forest, though if you make it winter I would ask for a cozy cabin."
  10. "I'd rather not finish this punishment," Phaedra muttered under her breath, quiet enough for Cathy to hear. She flashed the other girl a faint smile before looking back over her shoulder at the supervising teacher. "Most people don't talk to me at all," the half-breed admitted when she turned her attention back towards their task. "I think, maybe, it's due to how I arrived at the Academy," she said. "But I'm glad you are... even after.. well you know." Phaedra's cheeks heated, and she seemed a little embarrassed by her actions that landed the two of them in detention. "You're different," she added quietly. "I like that."

    Act of Union

if pressed Eve could recount in exacting detail how she and Becky ended up at the training room, but truth be told she did not pay much attention to the journey itself and only focused on the woman she was with. The walk was filled with small talk, shared smiles and laughter, and knowing looks while the Frenchwoman's hands were particularly well behaved. Eve was one who was always a little more physical in her shows of affection--in public these were limited to small, lingering touches on an elbow, forearm or small of the back--and she kept such contact to a minimum. As much as she absolutely adored Becky's blush the Frenchwoman decided she wasn't going to deliberately drive her girlfriend to embarrassment. At the threshold to the training room, Eve hesitated, clearly amazed at the space. "Do you ever come here, for personal use?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
  12. "Like I would forget," Phaedra grinned, calling after Cathy. The redhead didn't feel the need to spring into action, not when Cathy (and two others that she didn't know) were already involved and not when her own powers might incite more panic. Instead she stayed grounded, examining the scene as it unfolded around her. "Too much blood," she said absently, thinking out loud. Even if everyone in the park were exsanguinated it still wouldn't add up to the amount of red stuff the hellspawn could see. Her first thought was an errant portal to her home, The Red City certainly had its blood features, so she waded further into the park in search of such a thing.
  13. "Irritated," Phaedra responded spearing a piece of trash as if it angered her, while demonstrating a surprising proficiency with the spear like trash picker. She glanced over at Cathy and studied the other girls face for a moment before turning back to her work. "I have a temper," she said after a moment, sounding apologetic. "And it got away from me." She paused then looked back over at Cathy. "I just don't understand humans. And that vexes me."

  16. Phaedra walked against the flow of the crowd, deeper into the park and it was only due to her considerable strength that she was not overrun. She briefly toyed with the idea of taking to the sky, but quickly quashed that notion: uncasing her wings would probably only increase the level of panic. "This was please," the young half-breed directed as she pushed further into the crowd. "This way .. oh." She trailed off when she came to one of the pools of blood. She had smelled it earlier and a corner of her mind categorized it as a comforting, home-like scent. Crouching down she dipped her fingers into the red liquid and touched it to her tongue. "Huh."

  18. Fridays, for Phaedra, meant leaving the Claremont campus for some field training. Field training, in this case, meaning going into the public and learning how to interact among humanity. Generally the fiery redhead treated it as a sort of game, if a deadly serious one, since pretending to be something other than what she was could easily be considered a survival trait both here on Earth and in her home dimension. Today's field training took her to Ocean Heights, and she had only just arrived when all hell broke loose.

    Act of Union

"Just Eve, J'ou," Eve said with a warm smile, managing to mimic the Constable's accent when it came to pronouncing his name. She turned her attention back to Becky and cocked a snow white eyebrow. "Perhaps you can show me?" she said, and then flashed a grin, "I would love to see the training room--we don't have anything like that at the Castle--but don't worry kitten, plenty of time for play later." The Martel heiress turned back to the Dorah't, "Thirty minutes sound about right for a quick tour?"
  20. Phaedra didn't immediately follow after Cathy since the last thing she wanted was to look subordinate to one of Raina's friends. At least, that was her initial reasoning, but another part of her liked watching the strange looking human move. There wasn't a whole lot of time for that when they were engaged in their little scuffle, but from what she saw now she certainly missed out. Eventually she realized she was staring, and with a quick glance at the teacher she trotted off after Cathy, a little color on her cheeks.
  21. Phaedra sighed and gave her partner a surreptitious glance before stepping forward to collect the equipment. For the young half-demon, nothing had really gone right at Claremont since that Halloween party, and she found herself a virtual pariah at the Academy. It took a few months, but eventually the redhead's temper got the better of her, and now she was paying for it. And the worst thing, the half-breed thought to herself, is that she lost her temper with the girl she was about to spend to rest of the afternoon with. "Here," Phaedra Morningstar coolly said, handing Cathy her set of equipment.

    Act of Union

Becky felt Eve's irritation at the interruption even if the growl in her throat died almost as soon as it was formed. Eve looked up at the Constable and gave him a smile that was genuine,. "Please, while the mask if off I would prefer to be called Eve." She took the offered hand and gave it a firm shake before letting go and wrapping an arm around Becky's waist. "Do you know somewhere that Becky and I could have a few moments of privacy?" she asked J'ou. --I have something I wish to ask her,-- she thought to the Constable, --But I do not wish to put her on the spot in front of others.--

    Blood Drive

Nicola silently regarded the King and his consort for what seemed like ages, and it was clear from the set of her eyes and mouth that she didn't really want to talk about it. She held onto the bag of blood and considered feeding instead of answering in spite of her reluctance to perform that sort of activity in front of others. Still, she sighed, took a breath she didn't need and told her tale, all of it. From the time she ran away from home, through the time she spent roaming the streets and eventually falling in with the Bratva, followed by her life in prison and finally the convent where her life effectively ended. She talked of those first few days of maddening hunger, of learning that normal food no longer sustained her, and horror when she discovered what sort of monster she had became. Sinking to the ground, she talked in a quieter voice about her interaction with the church once she began her unlife, how their sympathy and remorse at what happened to her cut even more deeply since it was obvious that she was no longer welcome among them. But even then, they wanted to use her as a weapon against the unholy, and so they directed her along the path The Master took and how she ended up in America.
