  1. Tendrils grew from Willow's armor and lashed themselves around the man who, on account of his weapon, she had mentally named Khopesh. In Khopesh's battered state he couldn't easily resist the grab of the tendrils and the ancient weapon hauled him upright for a moment, armor peeling back from her face to favor him with a disapproving frown. It was the obvious corruption that bothered Willow and a part of her was irritated at the concern she felt for her attackers. With a snarl she crushed that concern and by the time the armor resealed itself around her face Khopesh was flung through the air toward Hooks. She was a little off the mark, sadly, but Khopesh didn't get back up from where he fell.

  3. In order to make sure the Refs accurately count all your IC posts and award you the due amount of power points, please post with a list of all the threads in which your character, NPC or sidekick posted IC this month (including the News forum). This topic will automatically close on the seventh day of the following month at Midnight EST. And if you are GMing something, list those threads, too. GM posts count as full posts, and can be assigned to whichever of your characters needs a 'push' to get up in post numbers. 1-14 IC posts = 1pp 15-24 IC posts = 2pp 25-49 IC posts = 3pp 50-99 IC posts = 4pp 100+ IC posts = 5pp When you make your list, please post a link to the IC threads -- preferably to the top of the page where your first post for that month appears (or the post itself) -- so we can jump right to it. When you start a thread, make sure IC is the first tag and topic prefix of the In Character thread, and OOC is in the first tag and topic prefix of the Out Of Character thread. It's not required, but additional tags including the major players and locations are viewed as a courtesy. Please list your threads in alphabetical order. Please clearly note any threads in which you are both player and GM/running an NPC. Please list your threads in a timely manner (1 week after the month is over is pushing it.) If you've done any "extracurriculars" -- artwork, HellQ, 20 Questions, NPC, Vignette, Wiki work, etc. -- please be sure to list them along with your active threads. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in your post counts being postponed or skipped completely. If you missed the deadline, see this thread.
  4. HP Reroll: Melee Attack to Initiate Grapple: 1d20+12 16. 4 + 10 = 14 + 12 = 26?
  5. Melee Attack to Initiate Grapple: 1d20+12 16 Opposed Grapple Check: 1d20+25 41 Throw (Ranged Attack): 1d20+8 19 @ Hooks.
  6. Khopesh is only staggered, what would it take to grab him and use him as a weapon?
  7. I feel it's worth pointing out that my original concept for the Guidebook was to basically re-write/update the Freedom City book for the current site. What you're suggesting Rav is in keeping with that idea.
  8. It was good, yes. Also apologies for any missed birthdays, at some point the app tracking all of that was disabled and I only clued in to it when my own rolled around and I didn't see a reference.
  9. Ardent grinned weakly at Cathy, though it became a bit of a grimace as she settled back against a supporting wall. The half-demon's features started to revert back to her more normal, human-like appearance and for that she was glad. She already got enough awkward questions at Claremont, she didn't want any more from the public. "Find out the why of... of this," Ardent said sounding incredibly exhausted, with a vague gesture to her surroundings. "Whatever this folly was."
  10. The kopesh wielder left scorch marks across Willow's armor but the attacks failed to penetrate and even that damage was rapidly healed over with new growth. The dryad kept silent momentarily evaluating her attacker though in her peripheral vision she noticed one of their assailants left vulnerable, but she was hesitant to follow up on it since doing so would leave a path open to the barrier she erected. She snapped out a quick feint with her left hand, a misdirection that allowed her to land a devastating right. To add further insult to injury Willow took a fist of his hair in her right hand and brought his face into her rising knee, only to kick him backward. Then, slowly and deliberately, she planted her feet right back where they started.
  11. Unarmed (Guardian Strength) Attack: 1d20+12 32 at the guy in front of her (Kopesh?) DC 32 Toughness due to Critical. While it would have been good to take advantage of the Set-Up, she has someone in her face at the moment.
  12. Toughness vs DC 23: 1d20+12 16. What. No. Spending an HP and rerolling that. Toughness vs DC 23: 1d20+12 31. Better. -1 HP.
  13. Ardent TOV: Thicker Than Water Blue Fox Down the Unfamiliar Road Nightingale Willow Interceptors: Terrance and Emily

  15. Eve bit the inside of her lip and grinned, giving her fiancé a short nod. "I love that suit," Eve cooed, tucking her legs under her as she settled back into the chair. "You know I'm going to have to reciprocate," she added with an impish grin. "Think I'd look good with some maple leaves?" The Frenchwoman's voice was light as she looked on Becky fondly, and though the distance degraded their mental link somewhat Becky could feel that fondness. Eve settled a hand on her thigh and concentrated on sending that sensation across the link, keeping her expression carefully neutral though her eyes betrayed some mischief.
  16. Until now Min had remained silent, just another physical barrier between their assailants and her as yet unborn children. But the more she studied their attackers, the more concerned she became. It was then, she decided, that they could not be allowed to walk away. "No," she said, shooting her husband a small look and shaking her head. "The House of Swords has been given more than sufficient warning. And these... these can not be permitted to leave this place."
  17. Min caught Talya mid stumble and held her close, giving the blond a faint smile at her quip before shifting her attention to their surroundings. The former thief could feel the ancient guardians muscles tense up, even if her outward expression was calm, before Min gently directed Talya into a secure looking stairwell. "Inside, both of you," she said, looking over at Dimitri with an expression that would allow no argument. A second after the thermovore crossed the threshold thick vines ripped out out of the ground and formed a lattice like barrier across the entryway with sharp thorns pointed outward. A moment or two later, Min was suitably armored.
  18. Ardent pushed herself into a kneeling position and as she fought to remain conscious, she lost another inner conflict. Her hands fisted under the shallow lake of bloods surface and the half-demon felt her nails bite into her flesh and as she drew deeply on her infernal heritage. The blood around her began to bubble and boil and flame licked from her red tresses as she shoved herself to her feet with a snarl, fang like teeth prominent. Hellfire blazed in her hands, and she must have heard Temperance because she looked at Dam and smiled. "Behold, Hurt is here." With that, a massive blast of hellfire screamed away from Ardent flash boiling the blood between her and her foe.
  19. Eve had settled into placing the chairs into little clusters around the fire, with a set a discrete distance further from the fire than the others. She was in the middle of setting up the cooking gear near the coolers, with the occasional bemused glance at the others as she caught snippets of conversation and playful antics when the sound of a phone came from the bag she brought. The Frenchwoman practically abandoned her efforts as she bound toward bag, fished her phone out and flopped into her chair with a huge grin on her face. "Bonjour, mon petit chaton!"
