2023 - 2024 Claremont Academy School Year begins September 11th!

 

     Dear Parent, Guardian or Mentor Figure,

 

     Congratulations to your child or ward on being admitted to the upcoming school year at Claremont Academy! We couldn't be more excited to welcome them into our proud legacy of academic excellence, practical experience and community service.

 

     The semester will begin on Monday, September 11th. Dormitory move-in dates begin one week prior on Monday, September 4. Below you will find a list of supplies each student will be expected to bring with them, along with a list of those provided by the Academy including toiletries, dormitory furniture and active wear to be used during our award winning physical fitness programs. Financial aid is of course available to students attending on scholarship and we offer meal plans to suit all needs. Our administrative offices will have been in touch by now regarding any dietary restrictions, allergies, atmospheric requirements, etc. See the enclosed contact information for any further inquiries.

 

     Claremont Academy has long been home to students of both exceptional ability and exceptional circumstances. While students should be prepared to work hard developing their talents and learning invaluable real world skills they can also look forward to a welcoming community of peers with their own unique perspectives and experiences. Orientation will cover movie nights, extracurricular clubs, our expanded intramural league and other activities. These are the friendships which will last a lifetime.

Reflection: Bernadette is still interested in pursuing some sort of singing career. She has also become more confident and in control of her abilities. Part of her focus now is becoming more capable of handling herself in a fight and using her duplicates to her advantage.

 

Independent Thinker: Overall Bernadette’s after graduation plans have not changed, but she has now come to be more accepting that she can pursue her career goals while also being a superhero.

Goal: Lawrence comes to Claremont with a lot weighing on him (it says something that being the son of a member of the Freedom League is lower among those issues).  Lawrence is hoping his time at Claremont can better help prepare him for what might come next and is looking to make as many friends along the way as he can.

 

Favorite Music: Lawrence (unlike his mother) has never been particularly focused on music, so he does not have any particular genre or band that is his “favorite.”

Prospective Roommate: Currently, Carmen does not have any roommates. Those she had through sophomore year typically leaving due to her more aggressive personality. 

 

Goal: Carmen if asked will tell the generic reply of trying to learn to become a proper hero. The actual truth is to learn the skills and knowledge needed to find out more of her past and who her mother was, having been orphaned relatively from birth. The only concrete thing she has essentially a sidekick position under the second Patriot, or at the least a prospect of it, the opportunity to potentially mask her true feline form.

 

Favorite Music: Favors music from Puerto Rico natively, but due to proximity to the US over time, she knows a few of the more pop tunes popular on the radio and online.

Prospective Roommate: New to this site. Don't know anybody yet, or where to try to coordinate this.

 

Goal: Rot's powers are disruptive. She inadvertently gradually destroys matter she touches, and her touch or close proximity elicit an automatic revulsion in people and animals. She doesn't see herself as having any hope of having a normal life. So she sees being a superhero as the one possible way she can make sense.

 

Favorite Music: lol. You flatter me. I'm way too old and out of touch with pop culture to know this information. She leans into being a misfit, so whatever kids these days listen to in that vein. I tried a google search on the topic, but it was no help. The internet has become useless! Get off my lawn!

Goal: Currently she has not seen enough of Earth to really form a plan, although if someone did flip through her diary, the big three are 'experience this earth school', 'be a super cool rebel hero' and 'stick it to The Man' with a side note to find out who exactly The Man is on Earth.

 

Favorite Music: Punk Rock, Metal and Dubstep. If it's loud and fast, especially with rebellious themes, she'll love it.

Okay, due to the influx of characters (which is great!), we are going to reintroduce the Squads for the remainder of the Claremont school year (we figure it is something the school would do for a host of reasons). This of course does not prevent people from doing threads with characters outside the assigned squads (which includes the Study Group stuff Poncho is doing). Several of us will be working to run threads for the individual squads going forward, in addition to any stuff we might want to do.
