  1. After finally managing to make that damn computer inside 'her' base, Cho found the access to what appeared to be a Freedom League teleportal. Realizing she was still in her pajama, she rushed back into her room, completely scrambling the place and turning it upside-down while trying to find either or costume or the morphic molecule version usually worn around her left forearm. After finally finding it, Cho went back to the teleportal and activated, still wondering just how the hell she ended up in there.

  3. Althought there is serious (read: almost everyone so far!) player overlap if this team is formed it need a Praetorian crossover. Why? Because team crossovers.
  4. While often understood to be a 'barbarian' by modern (or even ancient) standards, it was often forgotten that Kharag came from what was once one of the most advanced civilizations of his homeworld's ancient history. His home city had once been the center of the world or...at least the center of A world, at any rate. Layers upon layers of walls had suceeded themselves, always there to protect the ever-growing city. Beautiful stone temples, dedicated to the gods, had been erected in celebration to their wonders and those of civilization. What had not passed very well down into history is that Kharag himself had overseen most of these constructions, if not built them himself. He was the one who had chiseled those status out of their stone block, with only primitive tools and the patience of a being who never ages. With so many dead Praetorians, it was him who had the task of constructing their memorials. Fifty blocks of stone had been brought on board, not enough to make a statue for everyone. Some would have to wait for later. Currently, Kharag was at his first statue. Using tools mostly identical to the ones he had used over two thousand years ago, he had begun carving the face of a Delaztri from memory when he found himself called. Leaving behind his tools, Kharag headed out to the central room.
  5. Cho had a thing with alarm clocks. Well, more like a distinct hatred of them. A stream of terminus energy erupted from the bedsheets and struck where she imagined the alarm clock was. Instead it impacted the solid wall designed to withstand tremendous amount of damage and did nearly nothing. Getting out of her bed, Cho looked around, confused. "Where the hell am I?" Getting out of her room, she found herself inside a large underground complex. The place had been carved out and padded with walls able to resist immense amount of damage, perhaps in the event Cho had a fight in there. It was an impressive complex, the kind of thing she could never remotely afford, leading to the conclusion a large part of it had to have been actually designed by her and built with her powers. The inside had been carved from the earth (or a mountain) and the walls and floor had been altered on a molecular level permanently. The flashing lights no doubt indicated some kind of emergency. "Okay I don't know what the hell is going on but that's...not normal." She muttered to herself, trying to understand the computer console. That thing was no ordinary computer with keyboard and mouse. She figured that, even if she had somehow built this place there was no way the computer was her work. "Hello? Anyone else in here? No?" Her voice echoed inside the large underground structure. Moving at full speed, Cho tried every button permutation until she got the thing on...
  6. Well, think of it as what the character would imagine they would be in a few years if things were going well for them. Stuff like, I don't know, they finished their studies in whatever and the top of their class, they got a nice appartment, met the (sadly completely imaginery in this case) love of their life. Stuff like that. To make an example, it would be like the basic Peter Parker woke up and he was married to Mary Jane, he had a good job (no money problems too!) and the city didn't think he was a menace that eat babies. So yes it is much like Future Imperfect. And no, they just wake up in this strange scenario not having any memories of living that life. Same powers and skills as I don't want us to waste weeks over crunch and requiring ref approval for a single thread.
  7. Okay so here's what happen, describe it how you want: Your characters are waken up by an alarm. It is the alarm the Freedom League use to call them since apparently they are members of it. They find themselves either in their appartment or their headquarter and are about in their early twenties, living a rather ideal life. They have no memory of how the hell they ended up in this situation. One moment they were outside the mall the next they are woken up. I'll reveal more of it as we go along.
  8. GM The clean up effort continued while Cerulean and Rampart talked a little. However, in the crowd, someone wasn't happy. Not one bit. In fact, he was actually quite bored. "This sucks so much." said a boy in the crowd. "It's just not cool anymore. I miss the old days, back when the Freedom League would come out and play but now, oh now they're just busy! Or too old. Or gone." Disgruntled, Quirk threw his action figure of Captain Thunder and Centurion, the latter breaking when hitting the ground. "They didn't even come out to play. I need something new! Something fresh! The old guard is boring me, now. Boring me so so so so so so much!" Quirk froze time, and walked in circles, moving through the crowd as if they weren't there, gesticulating as he talked out loud. Not that any entity in three dimensions could hear him. Then he spotted Cerulean, Hestina and Rampart and grinned. "Now this is nice!" Quirk popped next to the three, still frozen in time and oblivious to all of this. "New characters. New costumes." He lifted up Cho's white cape. "And the cape is brand new!" Jumping and sitting on Hestina's frozen head, Quirk schemed. "Too bad they don't have the appeal of the classics. Then again..."
  9. "You believe this puny weapon can harm me?" Said Kharag as he tossed aside the pirate he had used as his improvised weapon. "The bite of an infant of my species has more sting to it." Walking up to one of the pirate, Kharag punched him straight into the face then finished him off with a kick in the stomach. Letting no motion go to waste, his moves flowed and the rest of the kick struck another pirate. Finishing his mention he punched the other pirate who collapsed too.
  10. "You know me? That's new." Cho said, frankly a bit surprised; she had never gotten any of those kind of reactions before. Plus there was the fact the new Next-Gen just had never really been that much of 'a thing' overall. She had spent more time with the World Youth Rescue Movement, even if that team had currently unfortunately disbanded. Ever since joining up with that team in July Cho just hadn't kept much tabs on Claremont aside from the circle of people she knew. For a moment she wondered if they too were dealing with the sudden monster attack or if that was just limited to this part of town for...some unexplained reasons. "No, I don't have any idea what's going on." She replied as she ducked, barely. "I-I was hoping you would." Even with effort the nervous stutter remained. As the other monster crashed, she turned back to Cerulean. "Well I think that was the last one around." Cho stopped talking and looked upward, expecting another monster to swoop in. "Huh. Okay. I don't know your name, sorry, you are?" Around them people started to gather while the police, fire fighters and ambulance arrived at the scene. Hopefully there wasn't too much damage.
  11. So anyway I'm going to wrap up the Batman-esque opening soon enough, probably as soon as Hestina gets a post in. Any objection?
  12. Wow you're the first person I've ever seen do this!
  13. I suppose this COULD actually be a good reason to dust off Bloodline (a Blade, Cable and Kyle Reese mashup). My main problem was that he didn't really have much to do. However keep in mind he might need a slight rework to his sheet, a re-approval and a perhaps a mean to keep his infection in check.
  14. There was a short whistling sound, followed by a loud crashing sound as a second monster crashed from the sky and landed, unconcscious, close to the one previously in the mall. Descending from a above was a figure wreathed in orange-red light and energy crackles, leaving behind a trail of energy as she flew around. The figure descended until it was a meter or two above ground, when the light died off. What followed was a rather clumsy landing. Cho looked around and noticing Hestina and Cerulean simply said; "Oh. I guess you two don't need me and got things covered." Seems like the mall's problem was already being dealt with by those two.

  16. Somehow having Racer under the care of the Freedom League did absolutely nothing to calm Cho's anxiety. She had been played like a fiddle once. While on one hand she had no reason to distrust the Freedom League on the other hand she also previously had no reason to distrust the World Youth Rescue Movement. Sure, it was true, they had shown themselves to be quite the mess as a team but that hardly qualified anyone as untrustworthy just because they had some issues. At worst they had shown themselves to be a little but unscrupulous in their methods but it hadn't bothered her. Now after these events, Cho just couldn't bring herself to fully trust the Freedom League simply because they appeared to be. She hadn't even bought the ridiculous propaganda Racer had been fed but the seeds of mistrust and skepticism had been planted in her. Unsure of what to do and where to go, she simply stayed in Freedom Hall, sitting in the lobby.
  17. OOC for this thread. Don't bother rolling, this is the Brave and the Bold-like opening where action happen. Just post what you want to do!
  18. Millenium Mall, Midtown May 17th What had started as a perfectly normal day for Eileen and Vicky took a very very strange turn. Strange even by the standards of Freedom City. Their shopping trip had been interrupted by the sudden rampage of a large, angry monster right in the middle of the mall. What made it so strange was that the thing had just simply...appeared there. All of a sudden. No rhyme, no reason, there was just some giant monster attack for some reason. So the usual things hapenned; people panicked, screamed, ran away and soon a fight broke out between the monster and the two heroine. As the monster continued it's rampage, it finally found a way out of the mall. If the two didn't stop it soon, it would escape into the city and continue it's rampage! -- The skies above the city "Seriously, what the hell?!" Rampart shouted, grabbing a winged monster by the tail and swinging it around before throwing it. A milk run had just turned into an aerial chase against monsters who had just appeared out of nowhere. She wasn't the only one 'on the case', as there were other people currently repelling the monsters in the skies. In comical puffs of smoke, three more monsters appeared on the top of buildings in Midtown. "Oh come on!"

    The Dig

GM "Well, it is not the most respected profession. In our old language, 'diplomacy' as you understand it. It's meaning was closer to...I suppose 'agressive negotiations' is an apt descriptor. Language can be a bothersome barrier." He then smirked at her, showing hint of the same sharp yellowed teeth as the rest. "If we resolved every single of our problems with wanton violence we would have gone extinct a very long time ago, wouldn't we? All our politics would end in blood baths and that is not very conductive to creating a civilization. As for not meeting diplomats, it makes sense; most of our kin who leave their homeworlds are warriors. I assure you we do, in fact have farmers, scientists, engineers and doctors. When you leave, I suppose you might wish to update the Lor's information about my species." His voice showed many hints of amusement, as if he was mocking Corona's lack of understanding of others and her prejudice about his kind at how they seemingly were all low-intellect knuckledragging warriors. "I am going to make a wild guess and say that was a very boring meeting, full of ramblings about ancient honor and grudges and all this incredibly mind-numbing old warrior talk."
  20. "Then we will rally the other Praetorians and see if we can hunt them down. You my word." Kharag nodded at Dragonid. "No being should ever be transformed into such monstrosity against their will. We will find them. And when we do..." He clenched his fist. "We will crush them, destroy them until nothing is left. Until they are wiped from history. It is better this way." And so Dragonid and Kharag set out to find the source of these technoassassins and prevent them from ever abducting more into their ranks. As for Ahazar's uprising, Kharag did not know it yet but it was the beginning of the end of his reign. When the Delaztri would be destroyed and the Za'akis survived, left without Kharag, they would rewrite history and paint him as dark figure. A new emperor, this one mortal, would claim the throne and start the first dynasty. The End
  21. GM The confrontation between the Praetorians and Ahazar ended with the rebel defeated and imprisonned. While Kharag pondered wether or not to kill the traitor on the spot or perhaps break his mind ultimately he decided that since this was not on Za'ak he had no authority on the matter and so Ahazar the fourth found himself arrested by the Delaztri. As Kharag and Dragonid talked some more after all this, Kharag admitted the following: "Ahazar was not wrong. His personnal choices may have been wrong and he may have let vengeance and ego cloud his mind, but his motives were perfectly understandable."
  22. REFLEXIVELY FORTIFIED BY HGM Raising Kharag's saves. +1 Fortitude +1 Reflex +2 Will
  23. Kharag panted from exhaustion. "I cannot keep my control over him forever. Even if I could I would not do so." While he still had the edge, Kharag mentally ordered Ahazar to begin removing the rest of his high-tech armor. Like a puppet, Ahazar began peeling the plates away, removing his armor until only a bodysuit was left. Meanwhile, the Za'akis crowd simply looked, horrified by this turn of event. Ahazar had lost and Kharag was no doubt quite angry over the whole affair. Even if they outnumbered the two Praetorians ten to one, it didn't matter. Beside they wouldn't dare.
