  1. Carmen "Strings?" she asked slightly puzzled. She wondered if he didn't have some sort of strange power or something, maybe a criminal record. She didn't know what really would stop someone from attending this place outside of those sorts of things as she had never been told fully why. Her own predicament for being here was simply just to say on her best behavior and show decent to good grades. A simple enough task even if she was a little bit behind, the summer period helping rather a lot. She fiddled with her skirt a little, walking with him to class, "Well... if you can't tell I'm special, I know it's hard to see why but I am," the black furred cat girl attempted to joke, "Claremont is all about using those special gifts I guess to be better. To help people, self-mastery and all that."
  2. Carmen Carmen didn't smile back, instead looking at him more passively. Animal eyes, with the hint of humanity that showed that she was still human, looking him over, "Carmen. It's also my first year as well" she responded. He didn't seem all that bad and he was just as new as she was. If he was a first year as well, it likely he was going to be attending the orientation, and maybe in the first class as well. It took her a bit to stop herself from refusing the offer, letting him grab some of the books even if holding them barely made her break a sweat, "Sure, if you'd like to help me. Are you attending the first period orientation?" she asks him, fiddling with the varsity jacket that she wore. Even if she was mostly black furred, the jacket seemed to cover over her body, as if trying to hide it away, out of view. To whom however was unsure. It was plainly clear what she was, but for Carmen, it was all for self-assurance.
  3. Carmen "No no, I have it, you don't have to do that for me. It's my fault," she says as she comes down, seeing him look up to her as she tried to pick up her books. She was on her hands and knees now as well, grabbing an Algebra book that had fallen over and was just a little too heavy to be in her backpack than she felt like having in there. For someone of her strength, it didn't much matter, but awkward positioning aside, she'd rather be comfortable than have bad back later. It appeared like telling him not to help her was out of the question, seeing as how quick he responded to helping get her belongings off the floor. By the time they'd finish, her arms were once again filled with her textbooks. Standing back up slowly, she'd look him over, blonde hair and looked roughly as old as she was. Brown eyes, slightly taller than she was by a small margin. Most notably of all, he was Human compared to herself, that seemed more like something out of a cheap horror movie, "Thank you."
  4. Carmen Having left the scene of some of the other Claremont students that she was familiar with and was now walking around the halls, attempting to find one of her classes. Due to her being a new student, she'd have to do orientation every other day for the first hour. A mix of teaching about the meanings of being a hero while also attempting to bring students into the Claremont family. She really didn't want to do this, having preferred to take the Art II class at this hour instead of some boring class like this one was. This frustration combined with the usual in dealing with Neko prompted her to be partially unfocused as she roamed the halls, her keen feline senses failing her as regular Human emotions clouded her mind, making it far harder to concentrate to weave through the crowds. Carrying her books in hand with only a small pack for the larger and heavier materials for class, Carmen would not see the Noel as she knocked into him, knocking the books out of her hands. An embarrassing event, the usual temper replaced now with a slight panic and timidness as her day was slowly turning towards the bad, "Soy tan estúpido (I'm so stupid). I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

  6. Carmen Puma hadn't really been trying to tell her much, but if she was, she likely wasn't doing too well of it, awkwardly fumbling with what appeared to hand signals. Not that Puma had much experience with doing so, having gotten it from the few American films she had watched before coming to the country itself. She'd immediately dash inside, growling before soon realizing after standing inside the room that there was no need at all for violence yet as the situation felt somewhat handled before they even got there. Those eyes weren't of a normal human's and the young heroine watched them shift rather quickly back to a normal state, "I... I won't ask yes..." she stammers, looking away towards the knocked cold moon wolfman that had so been unfortunate to have decided to come on such a mission for his people. "Do you know how many of them there are Ms. Gibbons?"
  7. Carmen Once the closet door was swung open, Puma leapt forward, trying to move fast against what she would assume would be surprised lunar wolf people. Instead, she was found wanting as she studied the room around her. The enemy wasn't there but following Patriot's movement and command, she'd keep silent, stalking like the cat of her namesake once more and moved to flank the other side of the door. Super hearing allowed her to hear what she would have likely not have heard, but what she did hear, muffled as it was, sounded rather like Ms. Gibbons to an unnatural degree. The cold and serpent-like voice brought a chill to her body that wasn't there before, unnerving her as she looked over to Patriot. Puma appeared to wonder if kicking the door in was the valid strategy here. She was fast enough and strong enough to do so but differed to Patriot for what was to be done. After all, she'd rather the guidance of the professional hero than her own rookie self to make such a choice. Still, something was right, it didn't sound like Gibbon's but it was.
  8. Don't even have one, not popular enough to have that sort of fan XD
  9. Carmen The young heroine kept rather close to her mentor as they traveled through the internal crawlways and spaces that were tight and ill-fitting for people to normally traverse through. For her at the least it wasn't too difficult, being of a smaller build than most as she kept her eyes on Patriot and moving at a comfortable distance and as silent as she could without trying too much. Climbing up ladders was trivial compared to her typical climbing habits, but the slight sense of dread and the fear of this dangerous situation was beginning to take its toll on her mind, a slight sickness in her stomach. Once in the janitor's closet, she'd take a deep breath, closing her eyes again for a few moments, "Realmente tengo un mal presentimiento sobre esto," Puma spoke in her native tongue. It calmed her down, feeling naturally with each syllable. Thoughts of the orphanage back home, thinking if this was happening there, she would leap to defend them in a heartbeat. Even if she didn't know these people well, she'd treat them just the same, paying them back for their kindness and follow her mentor into the fire in heartbeat. "I think I'm ready."
  10. Puma is up for either of them. Favoring the action one.
  11. Carmen Watching as Neko stormed off in a fit, Carmen just stood there, watching as the fellow feline-based heroine literally climbed up a tree to keep away in seclusion. Leon had to an extent deserved a little reprisal, but not a full-blown bite to the hand. Part of her wanted to go over and help her but threw out the thought. Her being there would only make things worse, far worse, and the only way to make things better would be time. Time of was something she had near forgotten was in short supply as she attempted to slyly and slowly begin to inch away. It would be better if she were to just fall back into the larger crowd, getting to her first class or whatever the orientation they were having her do was for.
  12. Carmen "Well, my lips are sealed. You've been good to me, so I'll be good for you maestro," she says before taking a deep breath, stretching her body once again before what seemed like a small prayer to herself. It was one that she was taught back in the orphanage and kept to heart when she needed to relax and be able to focus on what she was going do. For this, it was far beyond anything that she had ever done before. Lives were on the line, including her own, and she wasn't going to let some wolfmen from the moon get in the way. With another deep breath she spoke again, "Let's get up there then. I'll do my best to help whatever way I can up there. Once we do that, we clean up down here, right?"
  13. Carmen Maybe they were too different, but they seemed to share the same lack of family that haunted their lives in some way. Carmen found some sort of solace with this, she wasn't alone in misery, "I never had a real family. For all I know I'm an only child. Not even the nuns and priests know who really dropped me off, not even getting a birth certificate. I guess you could say the other kids and all the caretakers were but it's different." "I kind of think of them as my family but it's not the same. Something doesn't fit right now a days. Kids left the place, faces changed, a few stayed the same," she spoke before feeling his hand on her shoulder. It was a warm and somewhat soothing touch that calmed her nerves as she spoke, reassuring. Her hand went slowly up to his, gently touching it at her shoulder, "I'm not afraid of what we do, I'm afraid of myself."
  14. Carmen "The feelings mutual, I've never been to one either," she responded back to Bert before glancing over towards Leon. She had met him before, a familiar and at the least friendly face for her to spot in a crowd. One could guess that she wasn't at home in a crowd at all and would rather be in its periphery, and if anything, somewhat above it, able to see over and know exactly where things are instead of getting lost in a horrid crowd that she wanted no real part of. Her view on the paper boy quickly changed when he spoke of her being forced to room with Neko. For whatever damned reason there was, the two just didn't get along, almost like a strange sort of territorial dispute, "No estoy viv..." blurted out before stopping herself and calming down before speaking again. There was another new student, different. They seemed to have an accent as well, potentially from out of State or even out of country, "I politely refuse the terms."
  15. Carmen "Licantropos on the moon?" Carmen spoke somewhat confused. She had read up on the psionic colony on the moon but hadn't gotten to the part of their history where they had become full on werewolves. Finding out that people were living on the moon wasn't too out there, but the werewolf part was strange to say the least, even if she herself wasn't too far off from that same sort of state of being for herself, being a werecat. The young heroine would stand back up, stretching back as she rolled her head. Sometimes getting low like that could be a bit of a pain if it she stayed down like that for a while and getting into a fight without stretching was never a good idea, even for someone as limber and flexible as she could be. Claremont was teaching her plenty enough as she calmly spoke, "So you got werewolves hacking some sort of teleporter to the moon and got the whole building hostage, upstairs and down here. You'd think a place like this would have better security, but I guess coming from within go them off guard, right? So how we deal with the hostages?" she says with a sort of mock salute.
  16. Carmen "Puma" When Carmen had been told that she was going to be going to school at Claremont and living in the States, the representative for the school had stated that the money itself would be all from a grant and a small amount from the mission itself to supplement her stay here. She'd listen to him, unresponsive his laughter yet one could tell that she was listening to him rather intently and focused. There was something to his story that rang true to her, oddly enough too like her own. "I don't think we are that unalike," she spoke in a plain voice, eyes drifting over to the pool for a moment before coming back to him, "My life as being normal was short. I got a few years before I became what I am." She places the magazine down, sitting up, "Then again, was it even normal. We have no parents, no family. There is no shared apellido to call for, it's just us. This really is our only chance at being normal and doing something with our lives for the better. If it means being some sort of hero so be it. I'm tired of staying locked up in my room afraid of the world."
  17. Having managed to avoid being spotted or heard from her knowledge, Puma investigated the secret hideout of her mentor, low to ground like the big cat of her namesake. The smell of similar wolfman to the one that they had fought was in the air and she had to find them. Everything felt off, metal walls, all refined to make it look like some sort of government facility out of any sort of movie she had seen. She'd turn the corner, watching from outside a larger room that had plenty of the strangers there, like some sort of space alien from another planet or maybe world. She didn't like this, not one bit, and quickly came back to report her finding to Patriot. "Who was that?" Puma questioned upon her return, overhearing the conversation, "There is more of them, a lot more. Isn't there like defenses or security in these sorts of places. After fighting him I doubt we can take on more than a few at a time?"
  18. Carmen Hand reaching out somewhat shyly towards his, Carmen would finally take his hand to shake in a somewhat awkward greeting. Cold metal steel on her own strange and soft hands. It would be a very short shake, Carmen not wanting to take it for very longer, "I'm sorry... I'm Carmen. I transferred into the school," she says before backing off just a bit to give him room. Being so big, she didn't want to get in his way. Instead, she would focus on the small show that Simon was giving, wondering at the strange power they possessed.
  19. "How would he be able to sneak into a place like this, who the heck even is this perro?" Puma spoke as she watched the knocked out wolfman with a scowl, keeping her claws out and on high alert as she guards her mentor, Patriot cuffing him. It wasn't like she hadn't been in a fight before, and she had already met a near god-like being, but this was nerve wracking. A place that she wholly expected would have been safe and secure from all appearances was now terribly so one that could not be trusted in its security. Puma would nod to Patriot, rushing forward silently and deftly along, scouting ahead for the rest of the facility. Like a large predatory cat, she'd sneak forward, as if on the hunt for whatever sort of intruder had found their way into the place. For all she knew they could be anything from thieves to utter assassins, holding back the fury it was that pervaded her mind to teach these thugs a lesson the moment she saw one, but she recalled Patriots words, keeping to scouting what was up ahead.
  20. Rolling stealth for a 25 As well, a notice roll with all my sense for a 26
  21. Carmen Everything in her body wanted and told her to start hissing at Neko, some sort of territorial instinct that drove her try to do so, only stopped by common sense and the fact that she knew that Neko wasn't that bad. They had their differences, but it was no reason to be overly rude. That was why her smile was one that was of a more pensive kind, clearly planned out as not to be upsetting in some sort of nature. At the moment now, it was more jealousy. She'd watch the transformation into a small cat by Cat-Sith, unamused for the most part as she stood there. More interesting was the fairy like girl that had suddenly appeared in a puff of butterflies. Carmen wasn't sure about the fae thing but she herself was a talking cat herself, beyond the pale of a normal human being. This was what Claremont was all about, the meeting of such special individuals that she had been promised. People just like her. "¡Oye, míralo!" she spoke as she was bumped into. He was bigger than Carmen by a good margin, the tech noticeable by how close they were, "You're fine, just be careful."
  22. Carmen "Are you sure you'd want me to help, I think I'd just get in the way honestly" she spoke in response to his offer. Carmen really didn't know how that she could help him, and while prsenting her case why such would be a bad idea for her to help, she didn't actively refuse it, "I guess try to figure out what to do, if I should just go to my classes or take this orientation. I'm not entirely sure where I should be going." Like an abandoned kitten, she'd follow Luke around, and in her disappointment, it'd lead them towards Owain and Neko. Owain, she didn't have much issue with. A nice guy, though being so out of time was strange in some instances. It was Neko she did have issues with. For some reason, maybe instinctual, the two just didn't seem to get along at all, and while certain events had healed the rift, it only resulted in weirder and silent standoffs. "Hello Owain... Neko," she'd greet. Carmen had little to no social media of any kind.
  23. Carmen She was not further than she was before she got into the line, having been told that while she may be slightly above the age and grade of newer students, she still needed to take the orientation day tour regardless. It was something about fostering community and friends. Carmen wasn't the type for that and looked for any sort of opportunity to leave it and see if she could go one of her classes. If push came to shove, even skip them all together if it meant getting away from the loud crowd of new students. "O' Luke...I didn't see you there," she spoke. All her sense were on overdrive, too many people around, harder to track with inexperience that she had. Puma seemed to lose that more annoyed look to one of a shyer sort, "You seem rather busy today."
  24. It looked like intimidation wouldn't be the only way to try and deal with the intruder. Instead, it would just have to be a good old-fashioned beat down. She'd leap out from behind Patriot, moving with a speed far above that of any normal Human and with the reflexes to boot. La Puma took to such with ease, looking like she was trying to sweep him right off his feet, but then she came up, smashing a clawed foot right into the wolf man's chin with a flip kick. She may still be new, but Claremont was certainly catching her up to speed as she landed back on her feet, knocking the intruder out in swift style. "Serves you right!" she shouts at him.
