  1. Okay, so we’re lookin at a Ranged Disarm. Attack roll: d20 +13(Move Obejct) -4(ranged disarm) 21 Opposed roll: d20 +12(Move Object using paper) +5(aid from Pan) 24
  2. How high in the air are they?
  3. I had figured that I would have to fall back in initiative, which is why I hadn't posted yet. I just wasn't sure if I had to post Leon asking for Pan's help IC or something special. So then, I guess Leon falls behind Pan in turn order and I'll wait for your post.
  4. Double moving is fine for now.
  5. Paper/Leon - 3 Think Fast! - 2 Hero Class: Did You Say Run? - 0 Fire and Bring On - 1 Blackstaff/Christopher - 2 Missing Pets - 0 Fate of the Serpent - 2 Chimera/Jennifer - 1 (woot! finally!) Dr Midas Returns - 1
  6. Sticking to streets and alleyways will probably hinder Chimera’s movement, but double moving should help her keep up right. Or would she have to take to the rooftops for a clearer path?
  7. I'm okay with holding for aid. Next in initiative is Kevial and FB with matching rolls. So I assume that means waiting for Pan to aid somehow? Should I hold off posting till after Pan's post?
  8. I want to try to snare the weapon. I was thinking an attempt to seal the 'barrel' of the launcher with some kind of tether and pull it out of his hands? I'm hoping that even if I can't take it away from him, he still won't be able to fire it. So that be a ranged disarm attempt right?
  9. Jennifer's morning had already been going poorly. She'd already had to spend her Sunday morning downtown running errands. The microwave in her dorm room had 'mysteriously' stopped working. And when she told her roommate 'mysteriously', she had meant the alien symbiote she was bonded with had 'eaten' part of it when she wasn't paying attention. So she felt responsible for replacing it. Not that big of a deal normally but when her parents had transfer the money she asked to borrow to her account there had been a 'hick-up' as the nice, matter-of-fact lady on the phone had put it. So here she was at the bank to talk to a representative when a couple of yahoos in armored get ups knock the bank over. Jennifer had done her best to remain calm while they had, she assumed, broken into a safe or something and collected their, whatever it was they were after. She couldn't actually do anything with a bank full of witnesses. Their goodies in hand, the villains proceeded to smash their way out through the giant windows and out onto the sidewalk. In the moments after the bank staff and customers exploded into chaos. Jennifer stared out the broken window watching as the thieves seemed to hesitate before taking to the air. In the distance she could hear the sirens as they converged on the bank. "What the hell and I thinking?" She thought, even as her feet started to take steps towards the shatter glass. She had almost no experience. What was she actually gonna do? She could just follow them and when they stopped, she would call the cops. There was no need for her to actually confront them. Yeah, that was is. And like that, Jennifer was through the broken window and running down the sidewalk. She was still dressed in the skirt and blouse she wore on interviews. She had wanted to look as professional as she could when dealing with the bank, but she was regretting it now. She wished for some loose jeans, or better yet her track clothes. She wasn't wearing her running shoes either, but not for the first time she was thankful for the flats she preferred over heels. It wasn't until she was able to duck down and alley in pursuit that she was finally able to call on the symbiote. It reacted almost instantly, the techno-organic material seeping out of her skin and spreading like tendrils around her limbs and body. It crept up along her neck and across her cheeks and then a thin layer grew across her nose and mouth like some weird bandit mask. The tendrils did little to nothing to hide her clothes but with the 'mask' she felt comfortable enough to actually run at full speed.
  10. No, I haven't. I was considering trying to bring her in finally. So I will formally volunteer Chimera for consideration.
  11. Literature based shenanigans? Paper is only PL8, but if you can’t find someone higher he’d be happy to help.
  12. And there goes all my luck. ? 28
  13. Blackstaff turned to see Alaynah come up on deck. When she draws her gun and levels it at Dreamer he raises a hand towards her, his fingers in strange positions like he about to cast something. But Zach interceded first and he let his hand lower a little and turned his attention to Advay. He holds up a finger to signal him to wait and turns back to Dreamer, across from him. "Look, I understand you think you're doing what you think is right, but this is getting more complicated. I'm sure we can talk about this, but we can't do that if you drop us ashore." He says calmly.
  14. As he looked around with the others, it wasn’t too hard to spot most of the people that had rode the Delirium with them. Some were obviously angry and confused as to why their smartphones weren’t working properly. Most, if not all, of their social media accounts not even existing yet. Leon had to resist the urge to smirk at their reactions. He looked at Pan and was about to ask just what the other thought he could do. “What do you want me to do? Create flyers the say ‘If you think it’s still 2020 please return to the ride for a selfie. #dontfreakout’.” Before he could continue some dud-bro showed up on a... flying skateboard? Leon let out an audible groan as he listened to the new arrival’s ramblings.“I think I actually took Intelligence damage from the sheer stupidity of everything you just said.” He glanced back at Eira for a moment, did she actually look concerned? Looking back to the villain with the flying skateboard. “Listen up Cap’n Point Break-reject, you don’t wanna do this tonight. We’re having bad night as it is. So, how bout you turn around and go find a frat party you can crash before my friend here has to show you just how small your board is.”

  16. "I haven't been at the school very long, and I've already been Back to the Future'd. You guys are horrible chaperones." Leon smirked as he looked around looking for anyone, or anything, else out of place "Well, I got no one to call for help. So unless you guys wanna call up the school and explain it to them, I say we grab our food and meander back over to the ride to have a chit-chat with the operator?" He glanced back at others. " Unless someone has a better idea?" He asked, maybe just a little hopefully.
  17. Blackstaff nodded, acknowledging Dreamer's admittance of weakness. "Yes and yes." He admitted. "Both of those concern me at the moment. The 'something else' can wait 'til another time." He sighs and takes a moment to sit himself down on the deck. He hoped it would put the girl a little more at ease if he tried to be more at her eye level. "Look, I don't know who recruited you and I don't need to to know. But, I can guess that they told you Advay killed his co-worker and you want to bring him to justice. And you can assume that the professor hired me to help him escape the city." He reached into his pocket and pull the pack of gum out. Blackstaff unwraps a piece and starts to chew it. Putting the package and wrapper back into his jacket he leans back against the railing and looks across the deck at her. "The short version: I don't claim to know what happened first hand. Advay contacted me, claiming he was being framed for the murder of his co-worker and requested my help. Even paid in advance. It took me a while to find someone even willing to talk to me about it. But, from what I did manage to learn, I believed what he told me and choose to help him escape the city." Blackstaff spread his hands. "And now we're here, and that's my side of the story. I don't want to fight you if I don't have to. So, if you evidence to counter his claims, I'm willing to listen."
  18. "Reaction, gauged." He thought and turned towards the spot in the office occupied by printer/copier. Extending a hand in it's direction, Leon made a single grabbing motion. The sound of rustling answered with a sudden flurry of paper erupting from the stored reams. Carried on an intangible wind the paper swarmed around him, some of it quickly forming a hoodie and a chain wrapped around his forearm. The rest of the paper forms into a baseball bat that Leon shoulders with a grin. Turning back to the Headmistress he offers a mock salute, still grinning. "Let's. Get. Dangerous."
  19. Brute Power Level: 10 (142PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: -5 Attack / +5 Damage, -5 Defense / +5 Toughness In Brief: Advanced construct / flesh golem Catchphrase: Theme: Alternate Identity: varies (currently: Matthew Thate) (Secret) Birthplace: varies (currently: Freedom City, NJ) Residence: na Base of Operations: na Occupation: na Affiliations: Creepshow Family: na Description: Age: varies (currently: 35, DoB: 1995) Apparent Age: varies (currently: distorted 30s) Gender: varies (currently: male) Ethnicity: varies (currently: Caucasian) Height: varies (currently: 6.5 feet-ish) Weight: varies (currently: 350-ish) Eyes: varies (currently: brown) Hair: varies (currently: brown) History: Brute is a golem of flesh created by the flesh manipulating figure referring to himself as Creepshow. The current Brute was crafted from a man named Matthew Thate. Matthew was an auto mechanic who was hospitalize after automotive accident. He was pronounced dead after 4 hours of surgery, by the surgeon Dr Ethan Saddler. Later that night his body vanished from the hospital and records were changed to show the corpse had been properly processed. In reality, the body had been taken by Creepshow to be used as part of one of the villain’s experiments. Matthew was used as the base for what would become Creepshow’s muscle/bodyguard only referred to as ‘Brute’. Personality & Motivation: Whatever is left of Matthew’s personality and memories, if any, are suppressed by Creepshow’s tinkering. Brute’s only purpose now is merely to serve his master/creator. To which, he uses the considerable strength and power bestowed to him by his master/creator to carry out any orders given. Powers & Tactics: A living tank of a being, Brute lives up to its name. Brute utilizes the full extent of its strength to power through obstacles in its way. With little regard for tactics, it relies heavily on its abilities to take damage and shrug off blows until it can crush its opponent with its attacks. Although, its master/creator is able to access its senses and communicate over distance with it, directing it if seen fit. And if necessary, Creepshow can seize control of Brute and control it himself not unlike a puppet. Power Descriptions: Brute is a flesh golem, a ‘Frankenstien’ed bio-weapon, crafted to be strong and durable. Its body is distorted with occasional mismatched pieces. Its muscles are oversized and are obviously unsettling to look at. It's chest and arms are larger and longer than any human's should be. As such it always possesses inhuman strength and toughness, with a reach that some tend to misjudge. It can at times, at the need of its master/creator, be augmented with additional abilities. Theses abilities can sometimes cause the body to look even stranger and can sometimes come at the cost of reduced strength as an unfortunate side effect. 20. Blackstaff listened as Alaynah talked about her other passenger. “I though as much after talking to her.” He commented when the captain mentioned Dreamer’s intentions. But when she mentioned the demon bound to her, he nodded thoughtfully. It explained the girl’s questions earlier. He would have to see if he could help her after all this was over. He shook his head. “I’d rather not actually throw anyone overboard if I can help it. And, I’m not here for money.” He said. Considering the professor hadn’t actually paid him it money, it was technically true. “She seemed reasonable. I think she might listen if can talk it out.” Whatever Alaynah was about to say was interrupted and his attention shifted to the beeping monitor with her’s. Heeding her order, Blackstaff quickly grabbed the copilot’s seatbelt and snapped it into place as the boat picked up speed. As the tiny dot disappear from the screen he saw the captain relax a little. He almost started to relax himself when the wide flank of a second cutter filled the view before them. Blackstaff braced himself as Alaynah cut sharply to the right, narrowly missing the boat. But the second one was unavoidable. Luckily the Red Summer had lost a significant amount of momentum before it slammed into the side of the Coast Guard vessel. His head rang but he was fine as he looked over at Alaynah, a little blood ran from her nose where she had hit the steering wheel. “Sit tight.” He told her as he unbuckled and stood. “Be ready.” He added before moving as quickly as he could. He would have to check on Advay after this was done, but not right now. As he reached the stairs to the upper deck the boat lurched and swayed again. Except this time it was accompanied by a new sensation. A distinctly upward feeling of motion. “What in the nine hells?” He wondered as he fought the motion and climbed up to deck. What he saw next was not something he would forget anytime soon. A huge, multi-limbed creature cradled the old boat as it’s multiple wings carried them up into the air. A quick look around and he spotted ‘Heir’ half propped up against the railing looking strained and angry. Blackstaff only caught the tail ends of her decree as her glare looked like she was trying to strike the ship’s mage down where he laid. “Don’t do it.” He called from the stairs. He took a few cautious steps out onto the deck his hands open and empty. “Don’t do anything rash.” Blackstaff says, looking at Dreamer. His attention shifts to Zach, his tone more stern. “That goes for you as well.” He slowly moves towards the opposite side of the boat from Dreamer, not wanting to spook her further. At the railing he glances over, down at the water an easy 250 or so feet below. He was was again impressed by the young girl’s show of power. He could catch it if he had to... maybe. But he didn’t want to test that theory. “First things, first. I think we can do without the audience.” Blackstaff held his empty hands out, down towards the water. Under his breath he mutter a handful of what sounded like Latin or some other ancient language. Icy blue circles appear in the air around his hands, lines and symbols twisting around them. Below, the cold waters of the river grow warm as their chill is drawn up into the air above it. The new, cold air mingles with the warmer air saturating it until a dense mist forms in a matter of moments. The fog grows and rolls out across the river, filling it from bank to bank. Some of it even spilling over on to the shores as it rose up high enough to envelop the creature and the boat it carried. That done, he turns back to the other two on deck. His hands still out and empty as the icy blue magic fades into motes of light and vanish. “Now, I want to talk, but this seems like hardly the place for it. I won’t let them do anything to you.” He tried to give her a friendly, if not tentative smile. “Not that I don’t think you could protect yourself. Not after this little display.” He gestured at the massive winged creature she has conjured up.
  21. HP to use alternate power Obscure 10 (10,000’ radius [1.89 miles], Extra: Duration [continuous]) [20pp] (magic) Let me know if I did that wrong. I tried to keep it simple.
  22. Leon stood in line waiting to order. As he did his eyes moved from one group of people to the next, his old habits falling in line as he tried to make sure no one was trying to sneak up on him. Something was bothering him tho, but he couldn't put a finger on it at first. But as he continued, it started to register. "What the?" He hadn't even noticed Pan changing his the look of his clothing yet. He instead went from scanning just the crowd to scanning the boardwalk around them. "Hey, Tinkerbot." Leon says in a lowered voice directed at Eira. "You still got wifi? Anything funky popping up online?"
