  2. GM With the heroes rebuttals the Redcap wasted no time in his response, sneering "Our prince comes to these lands, our time is at hand!" at Blackstaff in response to his comment before casting a flint arrowhead at the mage. The Elfshot flickered in and out of visibility to those without magical senses, but with a flare of the wizard's shield bracelet it bounced away, skittering to the ground. At the same time, the first Redcap appeared from thin air with two additional cohorts. Each attacked one of the supers to varying effect: The one after Anarchilles apparently aimed as if he were attacking a normal sized human and instead struck air to no effect, while the one that attacked Bloody Mess found that the hero's boxing training assisted against pikes as much as fists, and the one who once more struck at Steel Shade drove his spear into the man's thigh. Having committed their violence the quartet of Goblins vanished into smoke once more. The woman in the magician's outfit looked slightly shaken as the rapid assault, air hissing through her teeth as the team's leader was stabbed repeatedly. Almost too fast to see she pulled a card from her sleeve, swinging it at the nearest goblin. With a small surge of light it morphed into an anvil, her hand clutching it's horn as it slammed into the little green creature. Before it left her grasp it turned back into a card, which she tucked away again. "What's the plan Shadey? My bucket list doesn't include being a pincushion."

  4. All right, we're entering Initiative. From the Steam Monster, we will be using a modified version of my Particle Man build at PL13. We've also got two hostages effectively Grappled by it who are taking Damage each turn due to being in the midst of steam heat. So they're going to need help. Nick goes on 10. Steam Monster goes on 4.
  5. "I think that's the general motif," Nick said. "But it's more of an art gallery. Postapocalyptic carnival chic." The second the words left Nick's mouth, he regretted them. It made it sound like an encroaching artifice, the kind of terminal hipsterism he was always afraid he was going to swandive into. The proprietors seemed earnest enough in their actual vision, and were definitely earnest enough to actually try to make a life in Bombay Beach, rather than make it an eternal three-day weekend. But it seemed to portend what might come to the place, make it another hipster magnet like so many desert climes in Southern California. Then again, if it could pull the city out of decay without turning into dust-colored cotton candy... But this wasn't the time for meditation. All this came in a blur of thought as Nick was distracted by the rising steam, the fruits of Sea Devil's efforts to control the blaze. But as she did, that keening in her head rose... and Nick and Artificer could feel the waves, the roiling of deep surf meeting an underwater caldera... Sea Devil felt a rude shock as the water was wrested from her grip. The steam and the wet formed a dance, surging into the house... and erupting through the roof, like a geyser. The steam emerged in tendrils, like the dances she had seen in grand liturgy around the mouths of glowing magma tubes, festivals of devotion to the blood and will of Mother Hydra. Like her brethren, she watched as two dancers emerged from the roof, wrapped in the tendrils of thick steam, reenacting this dance. But the flesh of the dancers beneath never filled the air with the sickly scent of parboiling flesh... The steam grew thicker, taking on a weight thinner than fog but thick enough to grasp. Faces roiled in the mists, a tide of piscine eyes and sharp teeth. A single voice emerged from many mouths, singing the same chant in Lemurian. "Crack the stone... call the sea... sweep me back..."
  6. Timeout As the momentum continued to shift in their direction, Lawrence’s eyes narrowed ever so slightly at Neko’s announcement of having once followed Crimson Katana. Of course, the Japanese girl did not clarify which Crimson Katana that might have been, although none that the blond teen was aware of had any positive histories. Of course, Neko would hardly be the first student at Claremont to start under the influence of a villain, so he pushed the knowledge back in his mind as he stayed focused on the threat they were facing. Of course, that quickly continued to dwindle, with Lawrence having a small grin as Iris and Daniel managed to drastically reduce the number of drones they were facing. And then the fight was truly over, as the individual operating the drones from some command center indicated her intention to withdraw and shut off the remaining drones near them. He tensed slightly at the appearance of two Tyrannosaurus Rex, with strange collars around them. But thankfully those collars disengaged, and the large predators seemed uninterested in Neko’s illusions. Looking around at the others, Lawrence released another small pulse of temporal energy, this time it gently washed over his friends and their guide, avoiding the two men that were not their prisoners, healing the minor injuries suffered by Kazra and Daniel.
  7. "My my..." Michael mumbled, looking around the Doom Room with a curious expression. "You know I don't often get to practice in here...it'll be fun, I think. Lawrence's been using this place a lot lately." It felt nice to be in his costume though, the red and white and gold and his swishy cape. "This is cool though...three different groups of enemies. I mean we could split up, or we could go from one to the other...either could be fun." He paused and waves at Daniel. "Hi Daniel! Hi Iris! Thanks for giving us a hand with this!" he yelled back, turning to Veuriz and Baz with a grin. "Ah, we're gonna have some fun today, aren't we? This is a new group team up right? Never been just the three of us." He offered a little lopsided grin. "Let's impress and get some nice marks, huh? I'll be relying on you two to cover all my weaknesses."
  8. "Well don't worry, Lynn. I'll teach you everything you need to know. If you're just starting Claremont, then I'll keep an eye out for you. Though I guess if you're related to Lawrence you're probably used to the fancy schmanzy stuff, so that probably won't be as much of a culture shock for you as it was for me. So how about instead whenever you get bored of that stuff I'll help you sneak out. Turn you into a real delinquent." Sam said with a cheerful grin. "Daniel! Do you want to play some!?" Michael continued to keep his attention on Lawrence, listening with a nod. "Got it. We'll do our best then. Do you think she's being tracked or something? Her relationship with you might make her a target...not to put unfortunate thoughts into your head, but given how intune with all this stuff, I assume you've already put it in your own head at some point. If she is, well...I'll do what I can, at least. So don't try to hold it all up on your own. We're in this together." he finished, smiling in an attempt to be comforting. "And Daniel and Iris are doing their best to, eh?" he said with a grin at Iris. "Mizuki's over there. Do you wanna try playing some games with her? I don't know how much time you've been spending with her lately, I know it's been a little while since we've seen each other."
  9. (Count as Golden Star Post) "I....I don't know." The Librarian said, looking between Carmen and Michael. "I uh...I had a book. It was an old book I found at an antiques shop. It was named uh 'The Real Mythology of America'. It didn't come up in any of the searches we had, and the author was unknown. I thought I'd discovered a real, actual piece of history, a book we didn't have recorded in our systems; I did age testing on it and it came up as being a genuine antique. We bought it and brought it back here to get it restored if it needed it, but I felt...I dunno, a calling to read it before we put it away. Books are meant to be read you know? So I decided I'd read it at the exhibition inside, a little surprise reading. Everyone got really excited. And the stories didn't seem that different from the usual tellings, you could still tell who was who. I read through John Henry, Paul Bunyan, and Mike Fink...then I got to William Tell and that confused me, because William Tell isn't actually an American folk hero; he's from Switzerland. So I didn't understand why it was in there, but I was already reading it...and then the little version of him literally climbed out of the pages of the book! He shot a bunch of arrows everywhere then ran off. No one was seriously hurt but I have no idea what's going on. I just...I think this book is responsible." She said, holding out the book in question. "...Okay, listen, don't worry." Michael said, taking a hold of the book. "You uh...you try to keep everyone calm here. We'll take this book to some heroes that I'm sure are coming by to investigate this, and they'll probably need this book. I'm sure someone will either being it back or put it somewhere safe." He said, looking at Carmen with the puppy dog eyes of 'can we please save the day' even as he picked up the book and flipped through it, taking a look at the art pieces in the book; each missing the main character.
  10. We'll do some gathering information rolls (but not Gather Information unless you want to); give me an IC post of what you're doing, tell me what you're rolling, and roll it, and what you're looking for, and we'll see how you go. Try to stay in the Hospital though, we'll move out of the hospital in a little bit.
  11. (GM Post) "Dennis...Dennis is..." she frowns and looks to the side a bit. "Dennis wouldn't do this. Not if it was him. Dennis was a good guy. He volunteered at the local shelter. He coached a local little league team. He'd been employee of the Month at the plant for like three months. He liked camping, went out all the time...he didn't come back this time. We sent out a search party and found him starving, dehydrating, mumbling about some 'cave' he found. We took him back here and he just...slowly withered and died...I almost think it was natural, we didn't get to him in time. But then, after we moved him down into the morgue, that was when things started going bad. One of the people who had brought him in came back, complaining of headaches, exhaustion. Then we just...watched. As he shifted and turned into a copy of Dennis in front of us. And he started freaking out. That was when we started to know something was really wrong. The people who hadn't been touched barricaded on floors they could find, slowly grouping up here. Everyone else turned into Dennis." She mumbled. "You can access his records though; I'll log you in on this computer. His apparel would be in the storage locker in the room he had been in. 845, two floors up. Please be careful with anything you touch that he was in contact with though. We're really not sure how this spreads. If you need anything, though, let me know."
  12. Okay, will be its turn after @TheAbsurdist Jotunn is up!
  13. Right, Redcaps and then The Prestige! The Redcap on the roof is gonna throw a stone blade at Blackstaff, while the other three are going to teleport through, attacking Anarchilles, Steel Shade and Bloody Mess with their pikes. To hit Blackstaff: 23, DC21 Toughness please. To hit Anarchilles: 8, that's a miss To hit Steel Shade: 22, that's a hit, DC24 Toughness, 21 thanks to his bruise so he takes another injured and Bruised. To hit Bloody Mess: 17, which is a miss too. All four will then teleport away. @Supercape Bloody Mess would be able to sense that the red on their hats is old human blood. To hit Bloody Mess: 17, which is a miss too. They then use Turnabout to teleport away. @Supercape, Bloody Mess would be able to tell that the red on their caps is blood. Human blood of various ages. I don't think you can sense them when they teleport into cover but I'm open to being corrected. The Prestige is gonna take a 10 to hit a Goblin, for 20 total. Which hits, provoking a DC25 Toughness which it actually can't pass, so 1 goblin down. I'll get the IC up today, then it's Bloody Mess' turn!
  14. Timeout Lawrence watched as Sea Devil seemed a bit uneasy at the approach of the Atlantean vessel, which also seemed to cause a reaction among the other Deep Ones. Sea Devil's suggestion that some of the Claremont students go out to try to talk with the Atlanteans and insistent that the Atlanteans were friendly with surface dwellers did not help alleviate concerns that there might be some potential hostility between the Atlanteans and Deep ones. But, the blond teen did not disagree that it was likely a good idea that a few of the students intercept the Atlanteans and try to talk with them. Not being able to fly, Lawrence himself was not the best choice for that group, so he watched those that could make their way out over the ocean to meet the Atlantean vessel before it reached the oil rig. "Ms. Innsmouth, should we be concerned about the presence of the Atlanteans." He asked, making a more direct question than Parker had previously asked (and not received an answer to).
  15. Thanks Dracostern Dont worry!

  17. OOC for this thread Let's pray I do this correctly @Kaede Kimura @Supercape @Poncho
  18. GM It was just that time of the week in Claremont Academy. A routine check in with some of the students. The faculty has decided to test a few of the younger heroes. As such Baz, Vueriz and Michael would be called and led to the basements under the Academy, to the Doom Room. A large facility with a hexagonal floor, white and grey walls and a high ceiling. Above them was the observation room. A figure could be seen from within, the supervisor for today’s session. “Greetings students.” The man spoke up through the intercom. “We are here to evaluate your abilities. Some of your fellow students have volunteered to help you with this. Please use your abilities as you see fit.” Should any of them look to the far end of the room, they could notice a platform that had risen up fifty feet above them. On that platform they could see the familiar figures of Daniel and Iris, tied up together there, they seemed to be tied with chains that had three locks on it. “HEY GUYS!” Daniel called out while Iris just rolled her eyes and muttered something under her breath. The students could also see that there were three platforms rising up at different levels, they were all quite large, stretching from one end of the Doom Room to the other. Each platform had platform would have different environments simulated on them. The first and closest to the ground, had a forest theme to it. Trees, rocks and boulders could be seen on it. The next platform up seemed to have a city simulated on it. Or at least an urban area, small houses could be seen on it. Finally, the top seemed to look like the interior of a space ship. The supervisor would speak. “The object of this exercise is to rescue your fellow students. Each platform you see with spawn an enemy of a specific type. There are also three keys, one on each. You must find the keys to free them. Please take some time to prepare. You start in five minutes.” ( @Kaede Kimura @Supercape @Poncho )
  19. Bluff Results 1d20+11: 29 [1d20=18]
  20. Could you throw a bluff roll for me? DC 10
  21. Cerebellum Daniel blinked in surprise when he saw General Sparks in...the real world?! The male twin's eyes shifted around the room briefly, he had to turn away from the flash, a flash that seemed to have awoken Iris. He breathed a sigh of relief before turning to the misplaced villain. "You shouldn't be here!" He cried out, seeing Carmen's attack fail made Daniel reconsider throwing something at him. "We'll tell you later Carmen! We need to stop this wannabe dictator." With that he pointed towards Sparks and focused. Faint purple waves shot out from his forehead and pressed against the General's. Causing mental pain as Daniel Mind Blasted him!
  22. GM "Roger... Paramedics en route...." called in the control tower. The Captain grabbed Predator by the arms, wincing in pain, skin pale, sweaty. Snow was falling on his face. Light snow, melting. "Listen. We are comprimised... do you understand? Nobody knew about our flight. Classified. And someone... something... was on it. They didn't tell me what this was about, but you can bet is hot, right? So take it from me, somebody, somewhere, is a mole. Whatever this is about, someone is on to you. Don't speak to anyone..." The Captain looked down to his bloodied military fatigues. "Nice job..." he muttered, before passing out.
  23. @Dracostern the psychic blast will automatically hit, so post that IC 11 for his will save vs DC 23, so that makes him staggered and dazed
  24. GM "What am I? What am I? I am no mere... THING!" roared General Sparks, shaking one lightning fist to the skies. "I AM GENERAL SPARKS! SUPREME COMMANDER OF EARTH!" He looked around. "Where am I? Am I on earth?" he asked, looking quite confounded and confused. The sparks still flewm however. The lights on the cieling exploded, and glass tinkled to the ground, covering the heroes. "What have you done??? Where am I?" screamed General Sparks.
  25. Carmen leaps down right towards this strange being that had come out of the game console and cartridge just as she was soon flashed by the bright light, blinding her intensely, unable to see whatsoever. The werecat's claws already in motion but cutting through pure energy. It would do little against this being, instead being given in return the worse shocking she had taken in her entire life. Volts cutting through her body, crying out loud before stumbling back out of the range of the aura that had just gone through her. Somehow, for now, she had managed to preserver herself, holding out but a more singed than she was beforehand. "What is this thing!?"
