  1. Toughness save: 11. Pfft. Reroll: 26. Much better! Initiative: 21
  2. Yep, I think we're done! Also, we should do another Towers / Jackson thread soon! :D
  3. Glow yelped in surprise as she suddenly found herself in mid-air, but quickly snatched herself out of the sky with her telekinesis before she could fall. After turning in a circle to inspect the surroundings she lowered herself lightly onto her feet on the ground next to Arcturus. "Alright, I guess we better get to it," she said as she heard the shots ring out in the distance. "There should be eight STAR squad guys in here, and an undetermined number of civilians. Guess it's going to be easiest to find the STAR squad guys - follow the gunshots." She glanced over at Heraldo. "We have to assume that everything in here is real enough to hurt us until proven otherwise," she said with a shrug. "I think we better split up so that we can search for people faster, have any of you guys got a way to keep us all in contact?"
  4. Glow didn't move as Marduk raised his hand aggressively. She didn't flinch at his shout, and she didn't raise so much as a hand in defence as the rather arrogantly named 'Hammer of Marduk' fell towards her. Despite her stillness the blow simply stopped a couple of inches short of rattling her skull as it struck her defensive barrier with a resounding but ineffectual crash. Green light flashed in her eyes as she grinned at the villain. "Hammer of fail?" she suggested as her telekinetic powers swirled around her, then lashed out at the man man with a hammer-like fist of mental energy that struck him solidly in the chest. "Want to reconsider that surrender thing before things turn really bad for you?" she asked as she eased into a fighting stance and flicked her eyes towards 'Rapids' as she prepared for the inevitable assault.
  5. Kristin laughed softly as she stayed in place for a moment, then spun neatly to face Jennifer again. "No no no, you're not understanding here," she protested with an impish grin. "Even if I mess up my parallel park and bump into another car it's clearly the other person's fault for parking there in the first place! They should have known that I'd be parking there!" She smiled up at her date as the music slowed and faded out at the end of a song. "I'm not saying you should give up your day job or anything," she teased gently. "But I reckon that with some practice you'd make a pretty fine dancer! 'Course, if it's stressing you out too much we don't have to dance all night, I'm not that mean!" She offered Jennifer her hand as the next song started up. "More dancing, or shall we wander around and see if you know anyone else around here?"
  6. So I had a bit of a think and my answer is.... I don't know! :? I'm actually happy with just about any outcome of this little conversation. Obviously Glow is trying to goad El Sierpe into trying to shoot her so that she can punch him in self-defence, but if he decides not to she gets to call him a coward which is fun too. If he does start a fight you can bet that Glow's going to try to accidentally throw him back to the states.. we can't be that far into Mexico after all, and if he happens to land in front of a surprised Captain Meddows then obviously then he's perfectly entitled to arrest him! On the other hand if he goes away we can probably do another thread where we find out if Glow was right about El Sierpe getting backstabbed by his own guys. Which would be pretty cool too! So basically I'm happy with any solution! :D
  7. Okay, so Glow is going to try to look completely unimpressed as she TK-blasts Marduk in the chest for daring to try to hit her: Attack roll: 26. This would be a DC24 toughness save. Edit: Oh yeah, still interposing for Warp.
  8. Glow has impervious 6 on her force field, so no toughness roll. Init: 22
  9. So are they going to surrender? Just once it'd be nice! Oh wait, El Sierpe surrendered and look how that turned out.. let's just punch'em! I know we're not in combat yet, but Kristin wants to interpose for Kat should either of team bad-guy look like they want to take a cheap shot!
  10. Glow smiled faintly at Warp's quips. She was glad to see the young teleporter in good spirits after such a trying month, but her amusement was short-lived as she found herself confronted with the pair of villains responsible for tearing up the building. She raised an eyebrow as Marduk teleported across the room to confront them, then turned her gaze towards the other villain. A teleporter and a speedster hey? she thought as she gathered her defences around her in preparation for the inevitable attack. These two are going to be such a nuisance... The telekinetic shot a quick glance over at Kat to make sure she was ready, then looked at Marduk again. "Running in the halls isn't allowed," she said challengingly. "So I'm afraid you're going to have to come with us. Don't suppose you'd like to just surrender and tell us what you're looking for in here?"
  11. Wanted to see if Heraldo was going to dish out the punchings first! :D
  12. Glow seethed silently as Heraldo confronted the smug villain with threats and bluster, but as her friend clapped her on the shoulder she took a deep breath and forced the anger down. Then she did something El Sierpe probably wouldn't expect - she smiled. "I guess you're right," she told the snakelike man as she brushed dirt out of her hair and off her shoulders. "I guess you made it to Mexico, and I guess we can't touch you here. Well hoo-ray for you!" Her voice lowered slightly as she continued. "But I'm not sure what you're looking so smug about El Sierpe," she said dismissively. "I mean, sure you escaped, but that doesn't mean you won today. Let's check the score. Today you lost two helicopters, a dozen cars, twenty-something men and a whole mansion full of who knows what. What's all that worth, ten million? twenty? Plus now you can't even go back to the states without the law landing all over you and you didn't even get your hands on the refugees you were after." She held her hands out wide in an almost apologetic manner. "That's not such a good day hey? But okay, what did you get in return? Oh sure, you beat up a few cops - but thanks to Heraldo here they're not even in the hospital anymore - and then you .. er.. well you got away by slithering through a tunnel like a frightened snake. So.. uh nice one I guess." "Truth is, El Sierpe," she finished decisively. "You got your butt kicked today, and once you stop gloating about getting away you're going to know it. And more importantly, these guys here with the guns know it too. Soon everyone that you've scared into doing your bidding will know it. How are you going to keep a grip on your organization when everybody knows you got your butt handed to you by a pair of kids El Sierpe?"
  13. Glow stepped forwards behind Wraith and Crimson Tiger as they tore an enormous swath through the seemingly endless swarm of robots before them. The carnage wrought by the two warriors was breathtaking - for all their advanced technology the robots seemed to be merely helpless prey with the shapeshifting hunter in their midst, and that Mali could keep pace with nothing but sheer martial skill was an astounding thing. As brutally efficient as the pair were though, the robots were simply too numerous for the two melee specialists to reach them all. Glow could reach them all. As she strode forward over the twisted metal remains that marked Wraith's first half-dozen kills the telekinetic gathered her powers around her. Green light flickered and swirled around her as she focused her will and took a deep, steadying breath. The light flared brightly as she spread her arms wide and lashed out in all directions with a powerful mental blast. Some robots were torn limb from limb under Glow's assault, while others were lifted bodily and sent crashing into walls or yet more of their metallic brethren. Still more were left mostly intact but for holes punched through their chassis by flying debris or the sheer impact of Glow's will. The wave of force curved past Wraith and Tiger to crush foes beyond the reach of their blows, then slowly subsided and faded away. With another deep breath the telekinetic continued to move forwards, and eyes flicked back and forth as she sought more targets.
  14. Ooh this El Sierpe guy is earning the punch that's coming to him isn't he! I sort of have a post in mind but I'm going to defer to Ari first to see what Heraldo has to say (or whether he's just going to punch the guy). As a side note, can we actually see anything that proves we're in Mexico?
  15. Initiative: 9 because Glow can't go early in the round at all during this series of threads. Ever. Sheesh! Seeing as we're apparently busting out the surprise assaults she would like to use her area TK power to blast the biggest bunch of robots that she can see that don't belong to Wraith's 'clump'. Or Mali's targets. Or Koshiro's either because he'll probably go before her too. Attack roll: 20. That seems like it should be sufficient to dish out some damage. It's TK 7 so the DC on that would be 22. Finally, Glow's also on interpose duty - she'll cover for Mali if any robots try to attack her.
  16. "Hey, stop!" Glow yelled at the retreating villain as he started to slither off into the gloom again. She scrambled forwards as quickly as she could and lashed out at him with her mind, the tunnel briefly illuminated by a bright green flare as she got a grip on his ankle. The success was short lived however, for the cramped conditions made it hard for the teenager to properly concentrate, and as she started trying to drag El Sierpe back towards her she lost her mental hold on him. "Damnit!" she hissed as the villain disappeared into the darkness once more. "Almost had him, come on!" Once again she started to crawl forwards as quickly as she could.
  17. Glow rolled her eyes and chuckled "Yes I'm very proud," as she followed Silver Spider towards the change rooms, then pulled up very short as the other heroine produced both of their bags in a bundle of webbing. "Jennifer?" she hissed in quiet amazement as she recognized the second bag that was bound tightly to hers. "Alright, I guess we've got a lot to talk about then!" She turned to look around and make sure the coast was relatively clear for them to make a quick exit, then glanced back over her shoulder at the other heroine. "Definitely time, let's get out of here."
  18. Glow gave a slightly exasperated sigh as her friend blinked into the building without the benefit of any kind of recon. "Alright then, I guess we do it the fast way!" she grumbled, then flung herself towards the shattered window a couple along from the one Warp had chosen. A telekinetic shove scattered any remaining shard of glass out of the frame as she approached and a moment later the luminescent heroine rocketed through the gap and landed with an athletic roll. "Didn't your mum ever tell you 'look before you er... teleport?" she asked as she straightened and started to move deeper into the office building.
  19. Hee hee! I love Jack Jackson, he's so fantastic! I think Jen and Kristin just need to make their escape (and have Jen point out that she knows who's under that green mask ( ) and we're done! Thanks Supercape! I'd love to have Towers back for more fun a bit later in his super-powered career! He was fun!
  20. Alright then! I just chuckled imagining Glow pinning El Sierpe with telekinesis and then having Heraldo crawl over the top of her in the tunnel to go punch him. "Ow get off me you big lug!" Attack roll: 20 Grapple if that hit: 19. Great stuff. Oh well, at least that probably means he can get away and we can chase him some more!
  21. Glow tilted her head questioningly at the other heroine and asked "Why do you call him my fanclub?" as she glanced over at the troublesome reporter. "Besides, I think you'll find he'll be off to chase down the ambulance with Towers in it - 'high profile basketball star overdoses on Max' is a way better story than 'dangerous telekinetic digs hole in floor at mall'!" It wasn't much of an attempt to deflect Silver Spider's interest and she knew it, but she already suspected that there wasn't much point trying to keep her identity a secret from this one. "You're right though," she agreed as she glanced up at the hole in the ceiling that led back to the trashed sports store. "If we duck back up through the hole we can make ourselves scarce while everyone is still enthralled by the mess down here." Besides, that would handily give her an opportunity to retrieve her bag from that change room..
  22. So can Glow try to make a telekinetic grab for El Sierpe there? If possible she'd like to drag him out of this little tunnel so we can properly dish out justice!
  23. "Nice driving," Glow told Mali as she headed for the door of the bus. "Think your park is a little crooked though!" With her powers wrapped tightly around her she stepped out of the bus behind the Kinigosi huntress and looked around. The tension she felt was clear from her posture, with her slightly hunched shoulders and her tightly clenched fists at her side, but she was still resolute. "Alright then, let's find something important to break," she said grimly. "Or failing that, let's just break everything. Stick close guys - if stuff starts shooting at us I ought to be able to cover you long enough that you can do something about it!"
  24. So a Wonderbus-smashing tentacle sounds bad, and it also sounds like it's kinda Glow's job. Can she zip outside and blast it away? Or interpose for the Wonderbus (that sounds painful) or something like that?
