  1. Okay, I'm sort of torn between having Glow go "Huh?" At Towers and not do anything this round, but I think she'd be worried enough about grenade armed enemies to keep paying attention for now. So... Let's stick with the area Telekinesis, and this time we'll try to grapple everyone with it instead of stealing their weapons. Taking ten on the attack roll again is fine, right? I think the bonus on Glow's grapple check is double the power rank again right? If so, 22 would be the roll. And if she wins she will pin people. With her mind. Possibly to the ceiling.
  2. Reflex save: 17+7 = 24 - accidentally hit enter before I could add notes to it and stuff. Whoops. That's good enough to avoid being blinded though, right?
  3. Do we need initiative rolls from team bad-guy now?
  4. Invisible castle is still the rolley thing right? 21! Edit question: Does Silver Spider get to go in the surprise round too?
  5. Okay, I'm a little out of practice here. What rolls do I need to make? Are the bad guys minions? Because then Glow could probably take ten on the attack roll with her area telekinesis power (which is at +7) right? Then a check to disarm? I'm sure I've done this before. Stupid brain!
  6. Glow counted off the time silently in her head as she watched the gunman mill around - and felt more certain by the second that she was about to spring some kind of nasty trap. She gave Silver Spider three full minutes to get into position just to make sure that her stealthy comrade had plenty of time to prepare, then took a deep breath and slammed the elevator doors open with a telekinetic shove and an accompanying blaze of green light. With her telekinetic barriers wrapped around her the diminutive heroine strode into the room in dramatic fashion and raised her hands as she summoned her powers again and reached out towards the sub-machineguns. The room seemed awash in a flickering display of fluorescent green as the teenager deliberately created more light than necessary while her mental powers sought to disarm all six gunmen at once.
  7. Kristin chuckled slightly at the accusation, then shrugged her shoulders at Tona and Sam. "She scientifically analysed our first date," she complained in her best attempt at an exasperated tone, then paused. "Well, second date. But not only that, she scientifically analysed it to accuse me of cheating to lose. See what kind of crazy I have to deal with here?" That it was true wasn't the point. With her innocence properly protested the Australian girl watched the gravity trick with interest while she gave her own cards one last shuffle, resisting the urge to one-up Jennifer by performing the task with telekinesis. "You're getting the hang of that pretty good now!" she noted as she drew five cards of her own, then regarded them critically. "If I don't have an action I just play a minion then draw two, right?" she asked with a raised eyebrow, then dropped a raptor on the remaining unoccupied base. "That can go there for now until I work out how to deal with mister leprechaun over there." With her turn played she drew two cards and regarded them thoughtfully.
  8. Kristin smiled sympathetically at Tona's discomfort as she shuffled her own decks, wondering exactly how Dinosaurs and Zombies might get along. "Don't worry Tona," she said with an easy grin. "I have no idea how to play either so we'll get along just fine looking silly together okay? I figure we should all just gang up on Sam seeing as she's the expert. Hopefully the dinosaurs let me drop a T-rex on her or something." The little Australian redhead glanced over at her girlfriend and her grin broadened as she caught the older girl playing with her ear-cuff. "Just don't make a bet with Jen here," she cautioned, her expression turning into one of mock-seriousness. "She's seriously devious when it comes to choosing stakes, you never know what you might find yourself doing." After favouring Jennifer with a trademark cheeky grin Kristin held up her newly shuffled cards. "So how many cards do I start with on my quest to rule the world with prehistoric undead?"
  9. Oi! What happened to my fist-shaking smiley? Lame!
  10. So I umm'd and ahh'd about how to do this and then decided to just stick a post in here. I figure some of you noticed that I up and disappeared without warning. I feel bad about that, my apologies to those who had threads in progress or in planning with me. Ari, Freely, Supercape, Azuth, anyone else that I've forgotten.. sorry! The reason for the disappearing act was that I was recently diagnosed with cancer. As scary as that sounds (and is), it's not so bad. I'm lucky enough that it's been caught super early and it's a brand of cancer that can be treated with a very high success rate. Treatment is off to a good start and everything points to things working out well. Telling people usually seemed to have been about as traumatic as finding out the news myself, so that's why I disappeared and also why I chose this quiet (cowardly! ) way of letting you guys know. I've also worked out that people have very hard time working out what to say, so seriously, don't worry about it. If you really have to I'll take "get well soon" or something! As for my absence from the site.. I haven't really felt like writing. Hopefully that'll change once I get bored with the books and games I've been occupying myself with, but for now I'm going to take a break. I do plan on swinging by the chatroom a bit though, so you won't get rid of me that easily. So yeah. That. Please don't make a fuss guys, it's not the end of the world and I've seen more than enough kids in the last few weeks who have it way worse than me to have gotten myself past the "why me, it's so unfair" meltdown stage. Yeah I'm sick, yeah it sucks. I'll get over it! :-D Anybody caught making a fuss will get :argh:'d at because I can do that to you guys without getting in trouble!
  11. Glow gets a 22 which I'm pretty sure fails by 1. Doh!
  12. Glow fidgeted in her seat for what seemed like the hundredth time (already), then folded her arms across her chest as she watched Heraldo answer his questions. The courtroom, she had already decided was her least favourite place in the entire world. As boring as it was to listen to the lawyers go back and forth over the finer points of the law it was also extremely tense for the teen-aged heroine. After all, very few things were more important to her at this point than ensuring that someone like El Sierpe was kept in custody for as long as possible. As Heraldo gave his description of the events at the border the green-and-black clad girl sat up a little straighter and held her breath. His account was perfectly correct of course, but there was almost no way that the defence lawyer was about to let it stand unquestioned, and Glow watched intently as she awaited his response.
  13. Shouldn't that have Warp free completely? A snare DC is 10+power rank not 15+power rank isn't it? ... invisible castle is down again *sad*. I'll roll when I get home!
  14. Hey Azuth.. I reckon it's your turn to post Jen heading off into the vents?
  15. Question: Nephilim's area damage power isn't selective, wouldn't Rapids and Marduk be in the area as well? (Especially Marduk seeing as Warp just hit him in melee). Presumably Glow gets to roll against the dazzle again: Fort vs Dazzle: 22 + 1 = 23 which still doesn't un-dazzle her. Reflex: 15 Will: 20 Rerolled will save just to see if Glow can actually get an action in eventurally: 11 + 10 = 21. Guess not. Dazed and yet another bruise. I'm going to have to stick a post in at some point even though Glow is daze-locked. Let me know when is good!
  16. Despite the fluorescent green light that accompanied her landing, Glow's arrival was fairly low key compared to Heraldo's. It was after all very difficult to compete with the sheer flair of the powerful young man's pants. Rather relieved to see most of the press focussing on her friend she crossed quickly to meet Captain Meddows and greeted him with a firm handshake. "Good to see you again Captain," she said with a small smile. "Let's hope today goes a little more smoothly than last time." Despite Heraldo's brash confidence Glow was uneasy. Facing a villain in battle was one thing, but facing lawyers across a courtroom was another thing entirely and the skill that El Sierpe's lawyers had shown in drawing out the proceedings thus far certainly hadn't filled her with confidence. "If you've got any tips for us that would be great as well," she said as she moved to stand next to her Puerto Rican comrade. "I don't imagine that the defence are going to let little things like the truth get in the way of grilling us after all..."
  17. Toughness - 29 -2 for bruises = 27, so failed by 6. Another bruise and dazed once more. Also, like we talked about yesterday, Glow is only fatigued right?
  18. Glow shuddered in Nephilim's tight grip as her body began to go numb. Am I dying? was the curious thought that crossed her mind as the pain faded away, and for a moment it was tempting to relax, to quit the fight. The moment passed and she fixed her assailant with a furious gaze as the power of her mind gathered and began to pry at the powerful limbs that held her in place. "I told you to get out of my head!" the defiant teenager snarled as she focussed, then lashed out with another enormous burst of telekinetic energy. The pure force that she put forth was too much for even the might of Nephilim to contain, and suddenly she was free. As she dropped into a crouch her eyes flicked skyward to measure the approach of the incoming leaguers. Just a few seconds more...
  19. Well I'm not totally sure how to describe that. Glow doesn't have any mental senses anyway, so I guess it's just numbness? Regardless, she's going to do the Grapple check thing again which if I remember rightly was at +35 (+5 from attack, +30 from the TK power). Sooo.... 38. Which is quite bad. With Glow reportedly still having a bunch of HP let's reroll just for giggles! 38 again. Oh yeah? screw you too Rolz! That's a 48 total with the +10 from being a reroll. Which isn't totally hopeless.
  20. Glow's not going for the ducts, she's going to go in the elevator door once Spider is in position. Glow knows she's an amateur stealth-user... and that she is kinda bright green when she uses her powers which doesn't help either.
  21. Alright. Assuming I did the dice rolling thing right... Reflex: 13 Fort: 16 Glow sez: "Ahh my eyes!" Admittedly I fail to see the point in the dazzle, it's not like it actually makes it any easier for Nephilim to hit Glow when she was already pretty much helpless because of the grapple. I thought the punching made more sense! Glow can't actually do a whole lot but try to break out of the grapple again on her next turn. I assume she can do that without being able to see?
  22. "Now now," Glow chided with a grin. "Haven't we talked about coaching the bad guys to be better bad guys? Let's not give them hints!" She chewed on her bottom lip and regarded the scene that faced them seriously for a few moments then nodded at Silver Spider. "I like that," she agreed. "Likely they're not expecting me to have brought backup along, so you should be able to spring a really nasty surprise once I've got their attention. And don't worry about the guns and grenades. If they're really crazy enough to start chucking those around I'm pretty sure I can cover them up enough to make sure nobody gets hurt." Unless they throw half a dozen at once... The Australian heroine didn't think it wise to mention that little doubt out loud, so she glanced over at her partner again. "How long do you need to get in position? I'll count it off and then jump out and make with the gun-stealing."
  23. "You can say that again," Kristin chuckled ruefully as Giang suggested that sparring might be a preferable way to learn where one's limits were. "Think I'm going to be hitting the Doom room a fair bit to get my confidence back at least. As soon as they'll let me in anyway. Probably get Kat and Mali to help make sure I'm up to speed in the gym too." She gave a little bit of a shrug. "Anyway, Kat saved my butt pretty good, so all's well that ends well. Take my advice though, if you see an enormous ridiculously hot guy claiming to be a god but acting like a common criminal don't get yourself in a fight with him unless you've got some serious backup. He's bad bad news. Goes by Nephilim and it took Kat and like half the league to chase him off me even after I belted him with a damn truck." The Australian teen sighed and a sheepish grin crossed her face again. "There I go again," she said with a roll of her eyes. "I'm not obsessing about it, honest."
