  1. After a couple of rough week, all that business with Nora came to mind, it was nice to have an evening of simple pleasures. And had to admit Johnny was good company, showing just the right amount of concern and not asking too many questions. Though she knew by the end of night she would have to tell him the truth, she figured she owed him that much. But for now she was just enjoying the dance, she had always found dance and music to be calming and relaxing. She could do this all night, literally, she never seem to get tired anymore. But that would be unfair and despite never feeling hunger it would be nice to have a romantic meal. “Let’s just finish this dance and well go try this fancy restaurant of yours.â€
  2. “I use to know this little Jazz place that was perfect for a spot of dancing, I wonder if it’s still open? Maybe for next time I’ll take you out to a club, though I’m guessing it won’t be your normal haunt.†Lucy looked thoughtful for a minute before breaking into another of her broad grins. “When have you ever known someone turn down a good meal? When are we booked on for? Do we have time for another dance; I think you’ve almost got it.†She gave a rather longing look at the other couples dancing around her.
  3. She spent a few minutes puffing on the cigarette she hadn't felt the urge or need for a cigarette since she woke up from the concrete, but it bought her time whilst coming up with a plan. There was a doorway behind her, not guarded, but she had to get nearer. Unlike the circle earlier she could move, she was just too weak to move fast. She needed a plan to get nearer. It was risky, and would hurt, but all she needed was for him to him her or get closer so she could hit him. He was already angry so this wasn't to hard. She stubbed out the cigarette and gulped down the whiskey. It was nice to taste again, and the whiskey was cheap but it wasn't bad. “Let me tell you about Mr. Giovanni. You know why none of the other families stepped in to help Sebastian. Because he broke the code he didn't just kill other Gangsters or the Police or even try to kill a Mystery Man. No he would target the woman and children, would kill civilians just to prove a point. Your revered ancestor was just a monster.†she kept her voice calm and level, all the more to wind him up.
  4. Agnes just could help herself she just burst out laughing, not just a giggle but a full on belly laugh. She had to stop herself so as to not ruin Madam Redpowders excellent work. “Message received Madam Redpowder, I guess I'm still not use to such formality.†she glanced at the miracle in the mirror “And I must say you've done another of your miracles today.†She listened to Rattlepikes messages and had to take a few second to calm her nerves. “Your welcome to stay and watch the show though I suspect you more of a Opera lover.†She sang a few lines from Madame Butterfly. Strange she had never heard the Opera before... “Oh well, is it to prim to wish me luck?â€
  5. Oh I wouldn't do it for anyone else, except I know that Nora will be okay. I think there should be a Nora post between my last post and this, I didn't want to post anything until I knew it would all work.
  6. Almost automatically she looked up and smiled “No I'm fine it's a wonderful party...†slowly realization dawned “Bloody Hell your, your that bloke off the telly. The public superhero/playboy, and you probably know all this already.†in her excitement he North London accent thickened noticeably. You would have thought by now she would be use to meeting famous people, but no she still got star stuck. “Hi I'm Annice Stone. Just feeling a little out of place, I'm just a small time singer. Plus all I can drink is this.†she held up a glass of orange juice “I really don't know how you cope without Alcohol.†Who'd thought she'd be saved by Lord Steam of all people. “Amir, may I call you Amir? This is Lord Lucien Lockwood, I helped him out with a issue he was having not that long ago.â€
  7. “You wouldn't believe what we got up to at the fair, it wasn't exactly what you would call normal.†she gave Johnny a little conspiratorial smile. She gave a little blush at Lydia's comments. “Well it's just the way I learned to dance, I've never had a chance to update my style.†another little smile “I suppose if I can teach him, I can teach anyone. As long as nobody minds me free styling a little every now and again.†Lucy looked a little thoughtful for a few seconds. “Though I think that kind of thing goes better in a nice a smoky little club somewhere.â€
  8. Revenant got a good mix of combat and investigation, and I wouldn't mind flexing her detective muscle a little either. Though I'm guessing I'll take second place to all those Fedora tyoes .
  9. Lucy looked embarrassed, smoothing down her jacket and trying not to catch his eye. She took of her sunglasses to reveal eyes as black as the lens themselves and finally looked properly at the young Bluesman. “Ah yes that would have been you Grandfather? Great Grandfather? But yes your right, not time to waste.†She walked over to the wall, crouching down and cupping her hands. “It'll be quieter if I lift you up. Then you can find out what's happening for both of us.†she gave a broad friendly smile “Don't worry I'm a lot stronger than I look, it's because I’m so well preserved.â€
  10. On spotting Bluesman the young woman did something totally unexpected, she threw herself at him with an unexpected speed throwing her arms around him. “OhmygooditisyouwowI'msuchafan†she paused and drew a breath “Sorry I'm such a fan of yours. I dodn't surpose you remember me. It was late I was going home from a court case, well the court case. And you stepped out and tapped your fedora and said Don't worry I'll keep your safe ma'am.†She stepped back looking for all the world like a giddy school girl. “I'm sorry where are my manners. I'm Lucy, Lucy Harker.â€
  11. “Okay you asked for it.†Instead of the more open partners of the others Lucy pulled Johnny close in a classic ballroom pose. “Just for this dance I'll lead shall I?†She gently encouraged him to step back and forwards, making sure she didn't drag him around. Which was something she could do without much effort. “Okay that's good bend the knees a little, start turning your feet a little.†Lucy carefully and gradually up the pace and started moving them sideways. “And next TAXI!†she looked at his blank face “Sorry a very old Movietone.†They dance in silence for a few minutes, Lucy lost in thoughts just enjoying the moment. “You dance very well, even for a first time. Not like poor James, he could never seem to get the knack.â€
  12. Agnes, no tonight she was Annice, felt so out of place. Most of these people earned more in a day than she had during all her career. But it was for charity after the horrendous events, hopefully the money raised here would help people would had really suffered during the strange events of that day. Because of that she didn't feel quite so bad about eyeing up all the expensive custom made dresses worn by some of the other women, compared to the, elegant and stylist she had to admit, off the rack dress she had on. But she rather be flying around the city than swapping small talk with people who didn't really know who she was.
  13. Lucy finally finished her dance, only to see that the rest of the room watching her. Without missing a beat she gave a little bow. Just in time to hear Johnny words. She stepped toward him a literal spring in her step. “Sorry I needed that, been a long time since I've able to do that. And I'm just an average dancer, I seen much better in my day†she called over to Lydia “Hello there, I hope I didn't disturb your class to much.†She watched the other couple as they took back up there dance. “Um it seems they all dancing the Charleston and little different from how I would do it. You sure you want me to show you the ropes. I wouldn't want to embarrass you to much.â€
  14. Lucy cursed her luck, why did she wear the dress it always seemed she was getting into trouble. She'd just had to hope the jacket would be enough to keep her modest. And that the dress would look good as a mini. The only lit window, were she hoped they were meeting were high on the wall more to let in light than enjoy the view. She scanned the alley and spotted the obligatory dumpsters. To noisy to push around but... Quickly scanning to see if anyone was watching she lifted the dumpster as quietly as she could before placing in down near the windows and silently clambering up.
  15. “I'm terribly sorry Madam Redpowder, but I this is important to me. This is what I do I'm an entertainer. It's not as important as spy work, but I want to make this work.†She sat back in the chair so the woman could do her amazing work. “Oh and could you ask M to check on Mr Trowell ? He had some meeting with a Vatican official a couple of night ago. Just in case it's not on the level.†Heh look maybe she was a spy after all. Baby steps and all. There was just one thing she just had to know. “I'm sorry if this is rude and all but I'm just wondering what your first name was?â€
  16. “Now that a tempting offer, maybe I'll help you out. But I'm planning to return to criminal law someday soon. And just remember you can always use your profit to branch out into new markets.†She entered the hall looking around at the décor. “Well it's certain changed since I was last here...†A broad smile crossed her face as the sound of the music. “Beats a little slow but we can work with that. If you would indulge me a minute I promise to teach you the move.†she breezed past Lydia with a friend wave and hello. Lucy closed her eyes and began to dance an energetic mix of arms swings, exagerated steps and high kick. She no longer heard the band playing only the sound of the old musicians of old speakeasies. Lydia stood beside Johnny her mouth open in pure shock, when she recovered she turned to Johnny with a look of something like admiration. â€Now there's something you don't see everyday. You partner there is dancing pure unadulterated 20's Charleston.â€
  17. Lucy carefully sat herself down so not to show how weak she was becoming. “I can see your not going to be persuaded from your course of action. Your not going to believe anything I say but I hope you well. In that case all I can do is wish you luck.†She closed her eyes, preparing herself for her inevitable unconsciousness. “But know this, if they or you harm any of my friends I will find you and you will pay for your crimes.†she smiled an evil smile “And others have proved I'm harder to kill than most.â€
  18. “I was lucky enough to visit Barcelona for the Sónar festival. It's a lovely city and a beautiful part of the world.†She walk along in silence for a few minutes, lost in thought. “I was made an offer by an ancient spirit of Justice for All. Actually I was fighting for my life from a gunshot wound. If I didn't have the powers I would thought it was all in head. A tiny part of me thinks that maybe it all is.†Agnes looked a little embarrassed. “I'm sorry I'm offloading. Thing is I've not spoken with the spirit since the event, and all this magical stuff is really new. And none of this comes with a instruction manual.â€
  19. Whilst Lucy was enjoying the acts, though this act wasn't as good as the last, she was still keeping an eye out for any trouble. The kind you often got in all clubs and bars. So she caught the two sharply dressed at the door almost straight away, time may have changed but they just screamed gangster at her. A hunch that was confirmed when she spotted some kind of pistol like bulge in there jackets. It wasn't really her concern, but the guy, the owner she guess, might be in some kind of trouble with the Mob. And she did have a history with the Mob. Seeing that they were leaving for the back she made her way towards the alley at the rear, hoping that the club's layout hadn't changed much since her day.
  20. Okay the two are your standard sharp dressed gangsters. Give a Notice roll DC 10 to see that they're packing heat. Revenant's Roll : 1d20+6=17
  21. Bobby settled himself down, a pose he often took when he had a tale to tell. “It was 1927 and the first of the Mystery Men were about including the Blues...†he trailed off at something he'd seen at the draw. “But I'm afraid the story will have to wait, I have some unfortunate business to attend to.†he waved at Otis bouncer. “Looks like it time to meet the Devil at the crossroads again. Let's just hope I have a guardian angel on my side.†Otis came over with two others a man a woman in incredibly sharp suits, ignoring Josh completely they focus all there attention on Bobby. “Gentleman, lady, Let's take this to my office, it has wonderful views of the alley.â€
  22. OOC for this thread. Bluesman and Revenant do some jamming.
  23. Lucy laughed “Actually I miss being a fully fledged lawyer. I was lucky enough to do something that generally helped people. That's what I’ve always wanted to do. I guess that what I'm still doing, just in a different way.†She looked thoughtful for a second. “Maybe it's good your not a businessman, sometime a company needs someone who thinks about people rather than the bottom line. Just think what good you can do for people with a company behind you? Just get a good business advisor behind you, one you really can trust.†Another hearty laugh. “Not that I'm fishing for a job.â€
  24. Agnes listened with a little concern to the young woman’s story. She felt a pang of guilt that her petty concerns were nothing to what she had gone through. “It's good that you were lucky enough to find someone to help you on the right path.†She paused for a minute, hopefully enough to go from such a serious topic to something more cheerful. “And I'd love a coffee, but I insist my treat. I'm sure you've got enough to concern your poor budget.†She stood and waited for Liz to joint her and as they started walking Agnes tried to spark up a conversation. “From you accent I can tell your from Spain, what part of the country do you come from?â€
  25. “I was lucky I wanted to follow in footsteps, and he was happy to help me achieve my goals.†a wistful look passed over her face “I hope he was proud of me, I never got a chance to find out.†The moment passed and her face lit up again. “I heard bit and pieces about a special school in the city, met a couple of there best students.†she gave him a cheeky look. “And by training I'm a lawyer, don't hold that against me.†a wry little smile “Though I'm trying to work out a few licensing issues before I could even think about returning to the practice. Right now I'm helping Padma with her business, all of it from simple legal advice to fetching and carrying. And you know what I'm enjoying it immensely.â€
