  1. “Wow you are quite the charmer aren’t you?†she smiled broadly and blushed a little, though her skin hardly showed it. She walked along for few moments taking in the sight and sounds of this vibrant part of the West End. Everything about Little India reminded her of these streets when she was younger, and long time ago. “I'm a Freedom city girl born a breed. I was born a grew up in the West End. Had to stay someone else for quite a long time, but the West End is where I felt I've always belonged.â€
  2. “An iPod charger?†she looked a little guiltily at his blank face “Sorry I'm fine Mr Rattlepike. Though could you send for Madam Redpowder? I think I still need her expertise on a multitude of tasks and questions.†She sat herself on the edge of the stage and looked out at the vast auditorium. Soon it would be full of a crowd, one who she would have to entertain. One who she didn't quite understand. It was true that the past was a foreign country, and she had booked herself a long weekend there... “if you would mind Mr Rattlepike I'd like a little time alone to rehearse.†She sat there a while gathering her thought's humming to herself I'm a poor hungry woman and I want a knob... , the tune was really quite catchy.
  3. I'm going to try and return the favour, so I'll grapple back Attack : 1d20+10=19 for the Grapple : 1d20+16=24 Okay I'm being a little optimistic, but if I succeed I want to hang poor Nora on a spare meat hook.
  4. GM “I wouldn't miss your mamma's cooking for anything, and you tell you grandpa to take it easy he's not getting any younger.†Bobby smiled his large toothy grin. He looked back towards the young woman and was thoughtful for a while. “Now you weren’t raised no fool Josh Brown! This ain't the movies where everyone look like there ancestors. Now I see a lot of your Great Grandfather in you, but there's also a lot of you in there.†He looked thoughtful full a moment, tapping his lips with his cane. “Anyway she's not just any old flapper who walked in the door, slumming with the Jazz Men. I don't suppose they teach you young ones anything about history these days but that pictures is of Lucy Harker. She made a big difference of how the law treats these Super's.â€
  5. â€I was, I am, a musician I had a successful career as a pop musician called Annice. It okay I don't expect you to have heard of me, my success didn't spread beyond the UK.†She sat on the edge of the bench, this was still hard to admit even to herself. â€I become isolated and lost touch made some stupid decisions. What I need was someone to tell me what a idiot I was being, ground me a limit.†She paused nervously and played with the edge of her coat. “I figure that it's got to be the same for the business were now in, only what we do is even more important. Hopefully this won't be the only time we meet, well it you can actually stand to spend time with me.†she give a friendly hopeful smile.
  6. She paused for a few minutes enjoying the feeling of this young man massaging her hands. How could she have been so stupid to forget that her skin was normally icy cold. Then again she tended to forget having never feeling the heat or cold, she hardly feel the lad gentle caress of her hands. She gave a broad happily smile, a genuine feeling hopeful this wouldn't spoil the evening. “No, no I'm fine, actually better than fine. I have a... skin condition, my hands always feel cold. It's why I always seem so pale, it's not like I don't catch enough sun on that roof.â€
  7. GM “Damn boy I still think you're wasted on the Blues. Your whole family was born for Jazz, now I remember when you Great Grandfather took to stage...†it was an old tale and an old act. As he talked he counted out the bills, more than he would pay any other act in the place. “And don't to say anything about it being to much.†he pressed the bills into Josh's hands “Without you, without your family, this place would be nothing.†He looked around his club and fixed on a pale white woman in a bright colorful dress. “Now there's something you don't see everyday. And take your mind out of the gutter young man, and look her.†he tapped with his cane, which he never seemed to need, one of the many photographs which lined the wall. The photograph was old from the original speakeasy days of the 20's in the center of the picture surrounded by other flappers with a woman who was the splitting image of the woman now sitting there.
  8. Lucy was on a bit of a nostalgia trip. After her night spent doing the Charleston she wanted just to listen to some Jazz. So she literally and physically took a quick trip down memory lane she was overjoyed that the old speakeasy was still standing and best off all still open. She was particularly proud of her latest purchase a brightly patented knee high dress, it's wasn't exactly proper flapper wear but she particularly happy with the results. But after everything that had happened to her over the last few months she still bought her jacket along just in case. She slipped into the club and took a seat in time to catch the end of Josh's act.
  9. “Well actually according to the law if you legally prove you are who you say you are...†it must be affecting her faster than she'd expected she was already feeling light headed and babbling. She drew an unneeded breath and gathered herself together “It's never to late to turn your life around, just a month or two ago I was living on the street with nothing...†She looked at the woman with a concerned look, it surprised herself sometime how much she cared for people despite everything they did. “I can, and I'm willing to help you. But you have to help me, and help yourself.â€
  10. Damn her but this city was beginning to grow on her, maybe it was the time she'd spent away but she was sleeping well and the nightmare's hadn't returned. And she had to admit the statue was impressive, she had planned to do the touristy bit towards the end of the visit anyhow. Sipping her Starbase Coffee she scanned the crowd looking for the young woman. What did she say sweater (Jumper she mentally translated) and messenger bag. As well as that it had become a habit by now to be on the look out for any potential trouble. She spotted the young woman fastidiously studying, moving as close as she could without startling her before clearing her throat. “Hi there I'm Agnes I believe we arranged to meet?â€
  11. GM In most cities there are a few of these special places, tuck away only know to the locals and the lucky souls who know about such places. This was one such places a Jazz club tucked between two building looks totally innocuous, no signs showed where or what the club was called. The club had no official name but most called it after the one of freedom's cities finest jazz musician who use to play there during it heyday of the 20's and 30's Chester's. It had survived everything from the Great Depression to more recent events. The club was currently owned by Bobby Johnson who claimed to be over 90 but only looked around half his age. The only reason people believed him was that he could remember details of things that happened since the late 20's in meretricious detail. Thanks to his efforts the club was filled was jazz of all kinds all day's with the best acts even being payed for the pleasure. Of cause in the evening the best act would own the stage and Bobby would sit in the corner holding court and listening to the acts.
  12. From the house Mrs Ahluwalia came striding determinedly pressing a small piece of paper into Johnny's hand. “The telephone number for this house, for some reason Lucy still doesn't have a cell phone. Maybe next time you could come to dinner. This poor woman she eats nothing.†Lucy just stood there and look embarrassed. “Yes well thank you Archana.†“Don't worry about coming home to early. And goodbye young man, it's been a pleasure.†Lucy smiled a little apologetically and put her hand into Johnny's. Despite the warm evening air her hand was icy cold. “Yes I've alway's loved this area, though it's changed a little since I was last here.â€
  13. She let his comments go, not yet wanting to tell him the whole truth. Anyway he was cute and she wanted to just kick back and have a good time. Hopefully without any dragon or miscellaneous mythical creatures showing up. “Well really to dance the Charleston you need a knee length dress. But I'm not sure you really want to wait a half hour whilst I pick something out.†she looked thoughtful and then broke into a broad smile. “Though I'm going to have to change these.†looking at the sneakers she was wearing “I don't think I've ever danced in anything but heels.†After only a few minutes Lucy returned wearing a pair of black 2†heels. “Okay let go.â€
  14. “It seems like it sometimes dear.†Lucy rolled her eyes and pointedly ignoring the comments carried on. “She not the only person who know what I am. I've never made of secret of exactly of who and what I can do.†she looked at him with her big coal black eyes “But she was a caring honest person who gave me a break when I needed it. When I first returned to the city I was homeless for a while. She and her daughter took a chance on me and gave me a roof over my head. This place is special to me for many reasons.†she wasn't quite ready to tell him the whole truth. Lucy looked a little thoughtful for a bit and then broke into a wide grin “But that’s enough maudlin. I've had enough to last me a lifetime, or two. Where are we going dancing, will I need to change?â€
  15. The man held up a hand and the golem stopped in it's tracks. He walked towards Revennat unbuttoning his jacket “See I am not a complete monster.†he draped his jacket over Revenants semi-naked form Revenant stood up, adjusting the jacket, and walked over to the young Yakshini put a hand gently on her shoulder. “Are you okay there?†The young Yakshini gave a weak little smile. “And now the box if you would.†Revenant replied through gritted teeth “Of cause.†they returned to the other room where the box stood on the counter. Lucy felt rather sorry for what she had to do it was a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. Grabbing the box firmly with both had she turned quickly smashing the box over his head with as much force as she could manage.
  16. Agnes had a sneaking suspicion, and a grudging respect, that Mr Rattlespike was pushing her as far as he could. Maybe she should let him have a listen on her iPod, at least half a dozen tune would make his eyes pop with it filth an suggestions. This was third rate Two Ronnie’s at best. Still this was a job and she was still a professional. “Of cause Mr Rattlespike. When ever you're ready.†She leant forward and altered her voice doing her best interpretation of a Marilyn voice. "I'm a poor hungry woman and I want a knob... “
  17. Diplomacy 1d20+9=13, not her best, but its a trying time.
  18. Waiting for just the right moment to strike she landed a series of blow upon the poor creature that was once Nora. Was that who she was? And would she ever be able to find out who she was? After all she must be even older that Lucy and even with everything record on her were quite rare. But she was well aware she would never get anything sensible from Nora now she was consumed by some kind of bloodlust. All she could hope to do now was somehow contain the poor creature until she quietened down. Maybe take her to one of the expert around town about the undead.
  19. She had flounced up to the stage with, she hoped, all the style and panache of a solid gold Diva. Looking disinterested in everyone until the stage was cleared. With that she visibly deflated adopting her normal friendlier tones. “Wow how do they managed to be so Diva-ish all the time, no wonder they're so grumpy it just so tiring.†She resisted the urge to give Mr Rattlepike a kiss on each cheek, even air kisses instead she gave him a friendly smile. “Oh before I forget I promised Mr Trowell free tickets. And if possible I'd like to give free entry of our brave lads of 31st Regiment of the Royal Navy. I will guarantee that the Ministry will foot the bill†Not giving him time to splutter his indignity she waded on. “As for the songs I'm not sure. I suspect you would hate everything I know, even the song I learnt last night. So why don't you suggest some suitable numbers?â€
  20. Simple stike again 1d20+10=14 Oh dear, hero point I think. 1d20+10=11, not much better. So that's 21.
  21. Despite having a killer of all headaches she actually felt pretty good. For one she she hadn't had one of her strange nightmares she had been plagued with she her transformation. Maybe it was the alcohol, she had to try a few more experiments. “Ship shape and Bristol fashion so I'm told.†she gave a small smile “And I'm sure Mr Rattlepike can wait a little while longer.†She began to tuck in healthy into the large piles of food before her. “And I'm sure we'll have time for second, especially for more of this excellent tea here.â€
  22. Despite the already starting to feel drained Revenant put on a brave front not wanting to show weakness in front of the woman, not whilst there was still a change of escape. “I do hope you enjoy your 30 pieces of silver. You'll find it warming, until the next time they need a favor.†She looked upon the woman with a look of pity, hopeful she wasn't to far committed. “It's not to late you know, all you have to do is release me from this†she waved her hand around vaguely “Do so and no more need be said.†Lucy just hoped the woman had any idea how to undo whatever had been done to her.
  23. She sat a respectable distance from Johnny trying to be as lady like as possible, some old habits die hard. “Mrs Ahluwalia I do believe you have other things to do now.†she gave the old woman a knowing look “Ah yes I have that thing I need to do in the kitchen.†When the woman left Lucy gave a relaxed smile and sat back. “She probably knows as mush about me as anyone, but its still nice to have the pretense of some privacy.†she smiled a friendly smile “Ah my promised dance for the lovely dress you bought me...†she looked wistful “It's a shame about that dress†“I would be honored to go dancing with you" she raised and eyebrow “And I'm sure you can teach me a thing or two yourself.â€
  24. She smiled a broad grin. “Well your not exactly Theda but you'll do Johnny. And I like it up here on the roof there are great views, I may let you come up and see sometime.†There was a little hrumph from the little old lady in front of him. “Sorry my landlady Mrs Ahluwalia doesn't allow “guests†up to my room. Archana would you be a dear and make my guest a drink whilst I get changed. I'm almost naked up here.†Mrs Ahluwalia lead Johnny to a meretriciously tidy room, and after ten minutes of light conversation about her daughter Padma, who seemed to be Lucy's employer, and her pride and joy her granddaughter Asha, Lucy appeared in the doorway. She was dressed simply in a jeans and Freedom City Comets jersey, the kind of just thrown on look that takes at least well ten minutes to achieve. “So how do I look?â€
