  1. "I can show you, no problem. I have to head there anyway to sign some paperwork on the room," Vicky said, opening a drawer in Janis' desk and pulling a crown royal whiskey bag and a few Dungeons and Dragons rule books out, allowing her roommate access to the desk. "Sorry, while I was the lone occupant I kinda spread out. I don't think I left anything else in your desk or dresser," she added with a sheepish grin.
  2. I could bring in Wisp as unskilled labor. Just about peak human strength and a 500lb teleport, might be handy.
  3. Victoria had to all but bite her tongue to hold back from humming Sweet Home Chicago as they took off. "A pleasure Logan." Turning her attention back to her dates for the evening, "I'm curious to see what you've got cookin' too Morgan. I do hope it doesn't involve landing in trees," she said with a playful smirk, "I've done that enough times while first practicing with my powers, only replace trees with fire escapes and landing with crashing into." "I think most of us have gone through a lot of firsts here. Before coming here I hadn't met many other metahumans, my parents not withstanding. Sure Chicago has a few metas but short of a bank robbery I wasn't going to get to talk to any of them, let alone get any advice. And if I can get some more juice out of my powers, I'll have to take you guys on a night out back home. You haven't lived until you've had a pizza from Gino's East."
  4. Vicky scowled, "Her... Oh I've met her. Last someone with her attitude I met, she ended up on the floor of my old high school's hallway with a broken jaw. I admit it was unintentional and in self defense but she did deserve it." At Morgan's mention of the various health and athletics services on her mood cleared a little. "Yeah, the folks in the weight room here don't give me funny looks when my weights go into the half-ton range." She nodded her head toward's Crowe, indicating she'd enjoy some lessons.
  5. Vicky pulled out her phone and glancing at the message nodded and gave Janis a wicked smile. Leaning over and whispering in her ear, "Now, now, play nice with the poor guy." To counteract her own whispering she gave Janis and thus earning her the hypocrite of the night award, she gave the other girl a quick kiss. Speaking up so Morgan could hear, "I've yet to get over to the mall so this should be a night just full of firsts," after a pause she added, "Wow, that sounded a lot less dirty in my head."
  6. Vicky ducked into the back of the car, sliding as far over as she could. Turning to their driver for the night she smiled, looking over his shoulder at the instrument panel, "I'm sorry, I can't hold it back any more. 'It's one-hundred and six miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."
  7. Vicky smiled, Janice's excitement was infectious. "Right this way," she said leading the way over to her room. Juggling the load she got the key out of her pocket, unlocked the door. Inside sat a desk, bed, two dressers and loft bed/desk combination piece. One section of wall had a motivational poster showing a colonial era warship sailing on an ocean of sand that reads "Imagination It's why we play". "Home sweet home," she said and set Janice's stuff down gently on the non-loft bed.
  8. Vicky eyed the car at Morgan's comment of riding in style. "Indeed, the car looks good. More importantly though, you look good. Love the pea coat," She added, running a hand on the forearm to feel the material. She resisted making any more Blues Brothers jokes while waiting for Janice. She didn't have to wait long. Watching her dormmate come out of the building, her breath caught. I knew she was pretty but damn. "Oh no, waiting wasn't a problem. And you don't look okay, you look fantastic," she grinned. When Jan's arm slid around her waist and Vickie's instinctively locked onto the other girl's. Turning to Morgan she nodded, "Okay Handsome, what's on the agenda for tonight?"
  9. Wisp fiddled with her chips. "True enough," she agreed. "When I first got my powers, I was kind of on the fence on the whole 'go out and risk my life' aspect but my first night out, I stopped two car jackings and a mugging. After that, I knew there was no way I could turn away from my duty as a decent human being with more power than most." After a pause and a sip of soda, she added, "Though if I can keep boosting my teleport's range enough, I might start a courier service."
  10. Vicky kept her foot stuck in the elevator's door so Corbin and Crowe could share the cab up. "I wouldn't call myself an artist, I'm that good, though Grimalkin liked the sketch I did of her last month at this autograph session she was doing at the comic shop I frequent." "As for absentmindedness, you haven't seen me when I get really focused on something. Ever skip a night's worth of sleep and a day's worth of meals because you had a great story idea and you felt a need to get it set to paper? And hardly notice the time's passed?"
  11. Wisp finished applying the last of her makeup before walking out to the car and one of her dates for the evening. As she neared the door she pulled her black leather coat over her tight gray sweater. Her jeans hugged her hips, flattering her curves as she walked while her white ponytail swung slightly. Eying the car as she approached she let out an appreciative whistle. "I didn't think a date warranted a car used in a mission from God," she said, leaning against the car next to Crow, their shoulders touching while they waited for Janis to come down.
  12. Vicky headed for the elevator, "We're on the top floor. And while I'm not a neat freak, more than once I've let a mess sprawl out of hand during the week and ended up spending a weekend fixing that. I do however try and avoid leaving an excess of dirty clothes laying around." Nudging the call button with her elbow she continued, "Mainly, my desk is the epicenter of messes. When I get in the zone on a sketch the rest of my activities get a tad sloppy."
  13. Inclining her head towards Crowe she noted, "That's also why I'm working on making a belt of many toys. Nobody expects a teleporter previously only seen punching things to whip a flashbang at their face. It doesn't have the wide variety of realty altering that magic provides but you don't always need to make reality cry uncle. And these days, it really is rather amazing what has been built to 'belt pouch size'." Coming to the door of the dorms, Vicky indicated the armload she had. "Morgan, would you be so kind as to get the door?"
  14. Wisp finished with her improvised doorstop. "Just in case we have to let the hostages out while keeping their captors occupied. Steel and Fae don't mix so leaving this door closed could leave them as screwed as before we showed up if anything goes wrong." Following his lead, she crept forward behind Glowstar, trying to keep her boots from impacting too heavily on the floor and suddenly regretting picking white as a major color in her costume's design.
  15. Vicky nodded, "If not bettering mankind, at least protecting the little guy. At the very least people should use their powers to act like decent people. Protecting those who can't protect themselves." At Janis' comment on being friends Vicky smiled, "I'd like that. And honestly, we'll kinda need it since we'll be sharing a room for a while."

  17. "Play your cards right, I just might buy you dinner. Play them well enough and it might be breakfast," Vicky replied with a smirk. As they walked Vicky adjusted the bulk she now hefted. "Well, there's the basic art class I've been enjoying, the combat training and phys. ed. in general are up there as well. Gadgeteering 101 is fun too, becoming the next Daedalus isn't likely to happen from that class but it should at least give me the skills to put together a basic utility belt." Looking over she gave a shy smile, "My fists don't always react well to everything I beat up and while I may heal fast, I still feel the pain..."
  18. "Yeah, some of the guys are a little off but," her eyes flicking to Crowe, "that's why we love 'em. So, your dorm. I guess that would make you my new roommate." Looking at the collection of luggage she asked, "Want a hand with that?" Before she could object, "Trust me, I'm stronger than I look. As for Mr. Summers, he's the headmaster here. Let's get your stuff into the room and then we can head back to administration and bury you a paperwork," she said with a slight smirk.
  19. Victoria Knight hummed to herself as she headed back for her dorm from the administration office for the school. She needed to fill out some paperwork and meet her new roommate. This last semester she had not been assigned a roommate to share her two-person room and she looked forward to sharing the space again. When she got towards one of the trees dotting the campus she saw Crowe being held upside under a tree while Corbin watched. With an effort of will she vanished in a bi-colored smoke plume, another surrounding her as she reappeared next to Corbin. She nodded to Corbin, "Hey Corbin. You okay down there Morgan?" Turning to the new girl, "Hi. I don't think we've met. My name's Vicky."
  20. And because I took a sick day, I miss a good one... Crap.
  21. 3+14=17 to find something anywhere in the alley or on the stairs to keep the door open.
  22. Wisp looked over at Mercury. "I was just coming back for ya. Sorry but my personal weight limit is five-hundred pounds. While I doubt you'd all exceed it by much, the three of you would still go over it. Last time I tried to bring more, I just didn't go, I'd rather not try and push it with people. Did you see 'Galaxy Quest'? I'm afraid of an 'It's inside out... and it exploded' moment by my hands," she whispered. Looking around she looked for something to hold the door open.
  23. As soon as Glowstar confirmed the lack of guards, Wisp grabbed Crow and Glowstar by their shoulders and 'poofed' behind the door, leaving Mercury and three clouds of red and white smoke in the alley. The familiar sensation of taking a single step through a cloud of smoke washing over her as she dragged the rune-caster and the non-diety empowered member of the team along for the ride. Giving Glowstar a smirk she whispered in a lighthearted tone, "Don't make me get the garden hose. Once we've dealt with the guys who kidnapped the Sidhe, there will plenty of time to try and score a date."
