  1. Oops. Sorry, didn't even see the OOC thread before! Did you still want that Notice, or should I go ahead with Init?
  2. The strange glitch in his vision pulls Victory out of his conversation with one of the many entrepreneurs looking into some manner of contract or other with AEGIS. Victory gives a few distracted "Uh-huh's" and nods, before putting a hand up to pause the conversation. "Excuse me a moment. But definitely call our legal department. See if that's something we'd actually be allowed to do." The man Victory was speaking to nods, as the hero steps away. Moving through the crowd again, Victory keeps his eyes locked on the waiter, running through his various forms of vision, testing to see if anything more shows up on the others. He has to be careful as he moves, however. His large size has been known to do some damage if he isn't paying attention. He keeps his hands very lightly feeling about, just to make sure he isn't about to slam into someone, while his visuals stay locked on the waiter, constantly cycling his senses.
  3. As Victory is always one who gets a lot of attention with every entrance he makes, nearly the moment he steps in to the room, he finds himself mobbed by the typical types. Reporters who got in on a press pass, entrepreneurs who would love nothing more than to get a big fat contract with AEGIS, and all the various flotsam and jetsam of high society. Of course, they can't be all bad, since they're here for a worthy cause. Victory prepares for the swarm, stepping forward at a brisk, but deliberate pace as they begin their flood. "Evening, evening, everyone. I'm sure you all have all sorts of questions for me, and there will be time to get to most of you tonight, but I've got a few things to take care of first!" Victory doesn't pause his stride, wading right through the throng, over to one of the collection bins. As he approaches,a very small slit in his arm opens, shooting out a stripe of paper from under his sleeve. Without turning to the cameras again, he briefly holds up the paper, where they can get a good shot. "I'm here, first and foremost,to drop this off." It was, of course, a check. A mighty large one, at that, in AEGIS' name. Victory, his back still turned to the crowd, hears the cameras go off, then finally lowers the check into the collection, and steps away from it, turning to the crowd once more. His face showed his big, public smile once again. "Like I said, I'll be available to speak to later, but it's been quite a flight, so if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go refuel!" The crowd gave some polite chuckles, as Victory backed away a few steps, before turning away. The moment he faced away and started walking to find his seat, his expression dropped. He let out a heavy sigh, and gave a brief roll of his eyes. Ugh...They're worse than sewer mutants, I swear....
  4. The dull roar of a distant jet engine flies over the party, the force of the wind sending a small tremor in the building below. Cups shake, silverware rattles, and at least one car alarm outside goes off. Fortunately, that last one was a car just parked, and was silenced quickly. It only lasted a few seconds, but the sound was around enough to stop some of the conversations going on in the party, at least for the time it took for it to pass. Outside the building, a white figure descends to the ground, rocket exhaust burning the asphalt below it. The tall shape is followed by a pair of coattails, still floating down from the landing. The rockets kick out an inch from the ground, causing the man to hit the ground with a heavy thud. But he keeps his balance easily, and stands, facing away from the entrance. Victory, AEGIS' representative for the fund raiser, brings a hand to his face, feeling it for a few seconds, before turning around to the entrance. Good....the synthetic skin was able to stay on through the flight. Some good stuff the lab's coming out with these days. Victory takes his strides forward, each step making a metallic thud on the asphalt. As he reaches the entrance, he points to the AEGIS logo embroidered on the breast of his all-white suit. The doormen, of course, know exactly who this is, and why he's here tonight. He gives them each a nod, as he makes his way in, lightening his steps, being careful not to damage the nice floor.
  5. "It does power them all, but unless I'm out in the vacuum, I wouldn't die. I'm still run on flesh and blood. My lungs, heart and brain are still my own. It would hurt, but the alternative leaves no comparison." Victory pauses, letting Protectron and Dragonfly note their objections to the idea. Or at the very least, a counter-plan to involve more groups. "That would definitely be the safe way to go. I still volunteer myself as a power source either way, but the more the better. But even still....how much time do we actually have to gather them together? We don't know what the Gorgon may have planned before actually arriving to Earth. We may have even less time than we know..."
  6. I was looking forward to blowing myself up to save the world But yeah, I think we're done here.
  7. So when's the thread up, and where?
  8. Victory [Gorgon] The Final Frontier Pass The Plate!
  9. Part of Victory's purpose is to show up as AEGIS' representative for just such events. How about he makes an appearance?
  10. Victory, not entirely knowing all of the science behind the plans, but understanding enough to at least follow, had stayed quiet. The heavy atmosphere for him in this place had been slowly eating at him, as well. But with the idea of electromagnetism and energy of the Sun is involved, he finds a place to chime in. "Well....you just need to generate a ton of energy, right? Even if it's just once?" His mask once again over his face, the other heroes could not see his mouth letting out a sigh, and he doesn't let it transmit, either. "Then all you'd have to do is find a source that can generate a huge amount of energy in a quick pace. If we had some way to harness the energy made from it...what about me? My engine produces enough energy to propel me around planet Earth faster than just about anything. And it's pure propulsion, as opposed to teleportation. If I cut out all the limiters on my engine, I could potentially produce an absurd level of energy....for a few seconds, at least. Would that be enough?"
  11. Oh no, it's nothing to do with the posts. I have to re-work some of the ideas I had originally had for the sake of where I want the plot to go. Unfortunately, I have been very busy and haven't had time to sit down and really work on it. For now, I have to put it on pause, but I plan to get things rolling again within the next few days. Sorry about this, but it WILL be continuing, don't worry!
  12. Not far. He's staying in the hangar. Just heading off to the side. If you read the link in the post, you could probably guess why. He's still in the same room, in range to get anywhere in it in a round, if need be. And easily within shouting distance.
  13. Victory's silence in response to Supercape's suggestion was more of an unspoken agreement. He would've eventually piped up about the spaceborne lab, but he wasn't exactly ecstatic about going back there. The last time he was there didn't exactly end well, and, while he knows it is completely abandoned now beyond the most bare of repair systems, he still was wary of that one rip in space he knew was able to come through once before. After they had all transported into the hangar, Victory's eyes went cold. His mask had stayed over his face the entire excursion, which is unusual for him. But he turns away from the group, and calls over his shoulder, letting the mask peel away from his face, but hidden from the view of the others by the angle he was standing. "I have to go take a look at something real quick. Give me a holler if you need me. And keep your ears open, just in case..."
  14. Which I am definitely going to do. But I have to make some changes to my original plan, so it'll be a tad delayed, I hate to say. It's coming, though, don't worry!
  15. Victory would've ended up proposing it if Supercape hadn't, so that's another vote.
  16. The weight of the potentially genocidal situation seemed to change the moods of the crew, as they know that there's more in the balance than just Earth. While it's unlikely they'd even be able to destroy the Gorgon as is, would they be able to do so if they were given the chance? A moral dilemma, indeed. And one that Victory, for his part, would have to wait on. For this part of the operation, Victory would serve as a lookout, his heavily-enhanced audio-visual senses trying not to let even a lone object near their work point without him knowing about it. But he keeps his comm open, as any signal from the others would have to take priority at the moment. With the nanites extracting, Victory listens in as Ironclad and Dragonfly discuss the potential danger of testing the material. The Major sighs, and chimes in. "Just do one thing. Don't let me handle any of the bottles unless it's an emergency and there's no other choice. If my superiors knew that I had one in my possession at any point in the operation, they would demand that I took one with me." Victory stops to momentarily turn off his recording software. "And quite frankly, I wouldn't trust even a spoonful anywhere near one of our facilities." He clicks it back on, thinking up how he'd explain the missing seconds in his recordings back at base.
  17. Oh, my mistake. What would be a good way to edit that, then? Just remove that bit completely? I will say that, as the most stand-outish member of the group in terms of the attention he can attract and the noise he can make, Victory is ready to run decoy should the need come up.
  18. Victory was maintaining a very careful level of heat and sound in his jets, keeping them burning as low as possible while still keeping his body floating through their descent into the mind-bogglingly huge entity. Fortunately, at its scale, a little extra heat from a source Victory's size is more like a slightly warm speck of dust. He figures he should be okay unless he has to really kick up. He'll just have to make sure that he keeps his feet on the ground whenever possible. Unfortunately. When the transmission hit, Victory had to give the side of his helmet a little tap. It seemed like some static, but he was definitely able to make out....something. A manner of speech far outside his own comprehension. But it definitely sounded intelligent. "It's definitely a language, but I don't think she's trying to actively speak to us in any way. She clearly speaks all earth languages, if her first broadcast was any indication. And it doesn't sound angry or have any alarms. I think we're okay. I'd say we dive in further." Victory readies himself to continue, but he makes a log in his recording software of the broadcast. He also marks this spot for future backtracking, and calls it "North" for his navigation computer's purposes.
  19. After being transported, Victory's various monitoring systems take a few moments to adjust after the teleportation. Even with the potency of Supercape's teleportation abilities, the sensitive equipment that make up much of Victory's body always does a bit of glitching out after transport. Fortunately, the life support is not one such system. As his vision clicks back in, his eyes are met by a sight he's quickly grown fond of. The stars in front of his eyes float by, the many celestial bodies being quickly scanned by his analytical systems, miniature readouts of each known star and planet blinking down in the corner. He turns it off, so he can see the stars for what they are. And even with his mask on, Victory takes in a deep breath of his artificial air, as he tends to do when he finds himself out in space. And then he looked down.... "A lifeless part, eh?" Victory's analytical readouts switch back on, as he gets back to business. "A big lady like this might be just a bit out of the normal definitions of alive. But still, there has to be some dormant sections. The question becomes this: Do we all go in as one big group, or smaller individuals? And if it's the latter, we'll have to map out some sort of rendevous point. Not that we know exactly what's in there...."
  20. High up in the sky once dominated by the sight of the approaching destroyer, a being who calls that very sky home floats, staring up into the space that may very well come crashing down on his world in a matter of days. Victory, his flesh face still holding on to an awful orange scar around the jawline, manages a smile. Raising a hand to the heavens, Victory moves his hand as if he were toasting with a wine glass. "Keep a spot open for my up there, lady. I'm coming for my dance. Just you wait." Victory looks back down, his artificial arm opening a holographic screen. It files through entries, before stopping on a particular series of numbers. The signal connects, and after several seconds of a ring, he gets a visual. It seemed as if his contacts were already getting themselves ready in their personal hangar, judging by the surroundings. Knowing they'd be able to see him as well, Victory deploys his mask, keeping his wound concealed for the time being. "Hey there, kids. Looks like you're planning a little field trip. And you could probably use one more chaperone." While Victory's mouth is concealed, his eyes are crystal clear through his visor. And they show the weird mixture of fear and excitement that any of his fellow pilots used to know all too well...
  21. Anything you find in systems, etc. is stuff you would find through normally checking through Nichtuberall. (Which is more up to Dok than any of us). There is a record of a series of major breaches within milliseconds of each other, but you already know the source of those. But at the same time as those, the internal AND external sensors picked up a COLOSSAL source of energy of Terminus origin, before it disappeared a minute later.
  22. Doktor'd 9/6/2011 For Victory! +1 Defense (2pp) 8 ranks Knowledge (Technology) (2pp) +1 Reflex (1pp) +1 Will (1pp) Doktor'd 9/6/2011
  23. You forgot somebody! Although, if it fits, of course, I'd expect Victory to have his own ride/meet them up there.
