  1. Since Victory was rigged up for this test in such a way to be able to get the "guests" to directly feed to him, he had the coordinates as soon as Blueshift sent them out. "Got it. Meet you there." Of course, by "meet them there", he'd mean that he was already at the location within seconds of getting the word. In fact, his own words were probably just meeting the other end of the conversation when Victory would have reached the building, and began circling in, checking out windows, the street, everywhere the little rat might've already ran out through. He couldn't exactly just smash through it searching for him, after all. That's civilian property!
  2. Despite the danger flying through the asteroid belt at these speeds pose, Victory doesn't seem all that concerned. When Supercape brought it up, he just calmly turned back to the controls, but kept talking. "Oh this? Don't worry. I've got it covered." He guides the ship through with what seems to be a minimal amount of effort on his part. However, if someone were to see it from outside, the ship would clearly be zipping at incredible speeds, dodging asteroids left and right. The flow of the movement seems to charge by milliseconds, due to having to get through at an outrageous speed, but Victory, as calm as ever, is able to keep his conversation, even looking back now and then. "So then, shall we continue?"
  3. Bugger. Can I try again next...let's say round?
  4. Victory decided to finally speak with the creatures directly, now that the Corps were all ready for pickup. Approaching them, he retracts his visor, so that they could get a look at him without being behind the impersonal screen built into his helmet. "I'm not sure if I'm speaking for all of us, but for me, there's no "if" involved. Any way we can help, I promise that I, for one, will do everything in my power to get rid of your intruders."
  5. Victory didn't think Sharl was going to hear him, but he was apparently closer than he thought. Hoping it wasn't anything Sharl would take offense from, his worries are availed as Sharl uses the chance to sing Miss A's praises, which she certainly has earned, to be sure. But as Victory was about to respond, the raucous cropped up, interrupting any conversation they could possibly have. At the front was an agent Victory had not met, but seemed to have taken charge of the situation. With the urgency in the agent's voice, Victory forgoes any ritual as far as introductions go and gets right to the point. "Of course! I wouldn't be here if I were otherwise. And these two are clear, as well, on my authority. Now quickly! What the situation?!"
  6. Dammit, Blueshift! Do you still have a grudge for Victory's "tear open a hole in the roof and just use that" plan revision?!"
  7. "Seems like a good kid." Victory mused while Sharl was off getting some tool or other. His voice drops a few levels, with the transmitting mic turned off. "How is he able to grab things like that? Some sort of Hard-Light projection?" As the work neared its finish, Victory had already begun his diagnostic program, all manner of lights and charts flying across his eyes. It would take a few minutes, but Victory was still able to talk and move around as normal. He just had to be careful not to do anything that would put significant stress on his parts. "...hmmm. Good question. It's still a bit early for them all to have gone home for the day. Especially since we've still got work to do here..."
  8. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF oh wow Search Check (1d20+1=3) Let's burn an HP for that one and re-roll. Search Check (1d20+1=4) I guess that's a 14 with Improve. Otaku must've gotten into Invisible Castle and is screwing with my rolls!
  9. Victory kept a good grip on the tank, allowing the others to get their good shots in. It wasn't quite as fast as he had expected, or maybe Otaku just wasn't particularly good at piloting it remotely like this. Due to it, he was able to keep a good grip while still being free to speak. "Because it's more than just that, kid. For one, to take it down, you've gotta go through me. And not just me, either...." As Ironclad's blast came in, Victory jumped off right at the moment of impact, pushing away, and keeping it firmly in the range. "We've got friends, too." When the tank was disabled, it was time to move on to the search. Victory calls over to the rest. "Search the immediate area. I'll do a wide-range search. But make sure the net-hopper doesn't get interrupted, either." With that, he blasted away, searching from high up, moving fast enough he could cover the entire area of Freedom City itself in moments. His eyes and ears search carefully, and he shouts out, both through his radio and into the air, sure that Otaku would probably end up hearing one or the other. "And you were thinking of androids! I'm a cyborg, you little dork!"
  10. So just Search? Or can I use his (better) Notice?
  11. Might as well try to search for the brat, right? While Blueshift tries the hi-tech approach, Victory can just go to his full Flight and scour as much ground as possible. He can move 5,000,000 feet in a regular move action, so....that's a lot of ground he can scour.
  12. "Heh. I prefer to call it space dust, but I suppose that's a good name, too." They had already begun making good time, and Victory took a moment to enjoy the sight of the stars moving at their incredible speed. Glancing back after a few moments, he turns his chair to face the others. "So, while we have a moment, shall we review what our first moves will be once we actually get to this thing?" For the most part, Victory's part in the plan was the transportation, but, due to his own ultra-high speed, he'd be able to provide the mobility and strength that may very well be required for covering the entire rock, if necessary. And if all else fails, he'll try to push that big hunk on his own!
  13. Just to be sure: It's still Blueshift's turn, right? Cannonade hasn't gone yet? I'm just being careful not to miss mine.
  14. While the others were figuring out what to do with the portal, Victory was dashing around and making sure all of the Corps members were fully disabled and got them good and wrapped up in whatever large pieces of metal he could get around them. As he put in the call to have them picked up, the portal shut...VERY loudly. Victory was far enough away that it doesn't really hit him, but when he turned and saw it was closed now, he cursed under his breath. He did hear some of their theories, though. "Can't say I'm surprised. Last time we took these guys in, although they were trying to keep as hushed as possible, what we were able to gather pointed to the Foundry as their employers. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the ones that busted these clowns out this time, too."
  15. Wait, was I supposed to be up? I was still a tad lost, and if I was up, I wasn't quite sure.
  16. Victory's visor got a bit active once it got a good, close look at Sharl. It ran a few of the quicker, simpler tests, which really just showed him what he had already figured out: He wasn't quite there. Not in the normal sense, at least. Not to mention his metal surfaces could feel that faint buzz it gets when in close proximity to electric and magnetic sources. The unexpected spot of praise caught Victory slightly off-guard, but he just smiled. "Oh, I'm sure she's just been embellishing on my behalf. I just do what any other soldier with a body made out of a jet engine would do. But anyway, good to meet you. Any friend of hers is a friend of mine." Victory turned to Miss A, and nods. "Yeah, I've been keeping a live log internally. It's linked up to the techs' computers. They'll be able to give you a readout. I'm sure whatever it is, you'll be able to sniff it out through there."
  17. Awwww, just missed it! Reflex Save (1d20+7=19) But he kills it on the Toughness save! Toughness Save (1d20+11=31) And besides, they already know Victory can take one of these things solo, and that's why he's not part of the test :P
  18. As soon as Victory was sure the techs were going to be okay, he turned his attention to the tank. No sooner did he turn, however, when the gas weapon went off. Before he charged in, Victory's mouth-shield swung down, completely covering himself from breathing any of the gas in. Even before it could begin to clear, Victory was gone from his spot, the only way to follow his movement being the visible gas billowing away from his flight path, which ended very suddenly...right at the tank! With a loud BANG, Victory's fist made a massive blow to the tank, severely shaking it up. And, now that he was close, he took the chance to look right into whee the main camera could see his face. "That is not yours, boy."
  19. Awwwwww, the one time a villain critically fails And can we just pretend the post I'm doing now is put up before KD's?
  20. Victory looked at his hand for a moment more, frustrated, when he heard the two guests come in. He seemed to calm down a bit, switching it up to put a courteous smile on. he'd been in a foul mood today, but he'd probably have an excuse to cheer up a bit now. Certainly, whatever needed fixing, Miss A was sure to be able to handle it. He took a step over to Miss A and shook his head. "We're not really sure yet. Every time we make one tweak, two more things get thrown off. Now even my punches are feeling a bit half baked. It's good to see you, though. I'm glad you were able to make it out here." Seeing the other guest, Victory brings his right hand up in greetings. Fortunately, that one was still flesh, so he could control it just fine. "Hello there. I'm Victory. You must be the friend Miss A here mentioned."
  21. As they approached the facility, they'd be greeted by an extremely loud BOOM, as though a bomb went off. Oddly, there was no sign of any sort of explosion or anything at the facility. But, if they were close enough when it happened, they could catch a ripple in the air. A very noticeable, but brief bend of the air around some source near the ground. At the ground of the facility, the source of that bang was made more clear. His left fist out in front of him, and exhaust coming from his entire arm and shoulder, Victory stands, looking a bit frustrated. "Damn. Still not quite right. It's taking too long for the speed to build up. Not to mention everything's still responding about half a second later than I tell it." A technician, with a VERY heavy set of ear phones on his head, speaks through a microphone attached to it. The headset actually cancels out noise completely, and he was far enough away not to be sent flying by the ripple. "We're still trying to compensate, V. We've got an extra hand coming in. Maybe they'll be able to figure it out. But until then, you gotta remember to stay grounded. With the upgrades we're working on, we can't risk you blasting off just yet." That news just soured Victory's expression. He's already had to spend the whole day grounded. Much longer and he might start getting...grumpy. Hopefully, the "extra help" will be enough to get him back in the sky before then.
  22. Wait. I'm gonna Improve Roll. Improve Roll (1d20+9=25) That should do it.
  23. Victory's going to move to his high-damage set (Strike 12, Flight...i think 10), which should be more than enough to make it with a Charge to the ARACHNE. All-Out and Power Attack with the Charge, of course. All-Out Power Charge (1d20+9=21) That enough? If so, DC 37 Toughness. If not, I'm gonna burn an HP to Improve Roll. (I'm assuming it's using Villain rules)
