  1. There's a good reason why Victory doesn't like to operate in small spaces very often. Several reasons, actually, but this may be the most prevalent: Not a ton of space to move around. Having to navigate in the small space without knocking it all down forces Victory to hesitate a bit on his blows, and as a result, they're fairly easy to dodge so far. Which is exactly what happens, as Victory lets loose with three surely bone-crushing hits, only to have them dodged with little effort. "Damn....If I could take this outside, it'd be much easier..." While he was fighting, Victory radioed to the crew outside. "What's the situation out there?"
  2. Welp, might as well go for Kalaa, since he's right there. As always, All-Out Power Attack http://rolz.org/myroomlog?r=TheBricksofBabylon Cutting my losses on this one. I officially hate this new dice roller due to this turn.
  3. So much happened all at once, between the super-powered elements are the more traiditonal, but no less immediate threat on the rooftops. But even in all of that, his combination of naturally-keen senses and the cyborg scanning enhancements caught something that may have gone unnoticed otherwise: In one of the buildings, a single man was waiting in one of the windows. He seemed awfully concerned with the truck they were guarding. More than just if he were looking at it, to be sure. Another super, perhaps? Telekinetic? Likely. Victory could take no chances. He radios to the others. "There's another one in that building! I'm going after him. The rest of you take on the bogeys on the roofs, and the powered ones. " Victory blasts towards the man in the building, and as he got closer, knew for sure his hunch was right. Anyone dressed like that came for a fight. Victory was going to give it to him. And more importantly, try to stop whatever he was trying. The silver streak barreled into the window, his fist going in first....but it seems whoever this was had better reflexes than he was expecting, and all his fist connects with is air and glass. "Dammit....You're a slippery one..."
  4. Alrighty then. All-Out Power Attack it is! I had to maneuver a bit and make a slightly careful approach, so I'm guessing no Charge bonus on this one? Although I think they all still count as having taken no action this combat. All-Out Power Attack (1d20+9=16) Hmmm....not great, but not awful. I might get lucky due to making the first move this combat. Is that a hit? DC 38 if it does.
  5. Well since he can use both Flight and Strike at the same time due to his Array, and he can't actually use enough Strike to take up all of his Flight, That still gets me an attack, yes? Unless the investigation used that action up?
  6. Victory will go after the guy in the apartment. My plan would be to approach as quick as possible, before something bad could happen with that person. Two blocks is no time at all for Victory to hit in a move action. Do I need to roll anything else, or know what I see as I approach? With a very suspicious eye, of course. Who knows what, if anything, someone could be planning?!
  7. Well let's get the Notice out of the way first, in case it's anything important: Notice Check (1d20+10=25) That seems pretty good. Anything?
  8. Victory Initiative (1d20+9=26) Anyone else we're waiting for?
  9. Sounds good! Looking forward to see it go up.
  10. While the rest of the team was discussing the matter at hand inside the convoy, high above the ground flies their escort, as the familiar silver-blue figure of Victory flies overhead. His visor was down, his protective mouth mask up, and the internal cooling systems were going at full blast. It wasn't often that he was sent overseas so formally like this, and very rarely for something as seemingly routine as a convoy escort. He knew something was up, but he hadn't been told much beyond "go here, follow the vehicle, make sure everything's okay." And he's definitely not a fan of being sent to dry, hot regions like this. Definitely not good for the mechanisms that make up his body. The thus-far quiet escort has Victory a tad bored by now, and he decides to radio into the truck. "Everything's looking clear up here so far. How's everyone down there? Staying frosty?" Almost to the nanosecond that the words left his mouth, Victory visibly (if anyone could actually see him up there, of course) winced at recalling the names of those in there and his less-than-optimal choice of words. "Errr....sorry, Doctor. That was just a coincidence, I swear."
  11. So would I be in one of the trucks, or am I providing overhead recon, watching them from the sky?
  12. Works for me. This is one of the trickier things about playing Victory sometimes. Some heroes, understandably so, might get paranoid, or at least suspicious, about what AEGIS and by extension Victory may or may not know about them.
  13. I'll leave that up to you. If you decide they don't, we could just handwave it as them making it a policy not to cross-check it for League members. That and they'd have to have DNA of him that they gathered while knowing it was from his identity to have something to compare it to. But like I said, up to you.
  14. Is this still a thing we're planning to do?
  15. "It should. Remember that there are things that carry your DNA that are around you all the time, even if you don't see it." Victory, with a smirk, raises his hand up to his head and makes a motion as if he were tugging a strand of hair out of his head. "How do you think we got the DNA data in the first place? Remember, someone has to do cleanup after a big battle." But Victory stops grinning, and crosses his arms, looking just a tad more business-like. "Keeping that in mind, do be careful about where your DNA does end up. You'd be surprised how little some of these mad scientist types actually need for their plans. We've got it pretty well covered while within city and country borders, but do be careful on adventures outside the country."
  16. Victory lets Gabriel take the card, and then quickly dispenses two more, holding them in his fingers. "They'll want to have their own, then. As for how it works...well, I don't know the full specifics of how they make it, but basically what it does is react to the data we have stored, and if you're touching the card, and your genetic data matches our records as being affiliated with the League, a little button appears. Hold a digit on it, and it'll put you on my line. I usually answer very quickly, but sometimes I have something on my plate already." Victory lowers his artificial arm, and hands the extra cards over. "So Gaian Knight and Fleur, eh? I haven't had a chance to work with Knight before, although Fleur and I have met. I helped her out with those bees of hers once. It was quite an interesting experience, to say the least. Nice lady, though. I've been meaning to catch up with how things are going over in that colossal hive of hers."
  17. "It's been a long several days for all of us. Every time something this scale goes down, I always see all the capes out there helping in emergency relief. But it gets tiring. We're superhuman. Not inhuman." Victory holds his hand out very slightly, palm facing up. A small slit appears in his wrist, and what looks to be a business card with the AEGIS logo shoots out. "Here. I'm relatively easy to get a hold of, but it doesn't hurt to have one of these, right? Actually...now that I recall, you're affiliated with the Freedom League now, aren't you?" His middle finger pushes the card back in, and Victory turns his hand over. A second slot opens, and a similar-sized hard pushes out halfway. This one, however, was quite different looking, apparently made of some kind of transparent gold material, with tiny circuits running through it. Victory pulls the card out,and present it forward. "Take this one, instead. This one will let you bypass the directory entirely and patch you in directly to my set. It's specially coded so that it'll only work near DNA or energy patterns that match those known to be affiliated with the League."
  18. The name Shadian Steelgrave instantly brought up another picture and bio, with his name, some vital information, and a list of known information over the last year. Victory very quickly looks it over, before reducing it to a thumbnail, as well. Victory doesn't seem terribly broken up about not asking how Gabriel is. The thumbnail of Gabriel expanded in Victory's visor, showing "Well you certainly look it. No noticeable injuries, either internal or external. If you were otherwise, I certainly wouldn't have approached you this soon." The sight returns to being just a thumbnail, and Victory's gaze refocuses back on Gabriel. "So an EMP is what knocked everything out just before the explosion? That explains how we lost sight of what went on. From the sounds of it, everything went down pretty suddenly. At least someone was able to make it out. I believe there were reports that you were able to get some people out with you. Well, we'll check the information against whatelse we have, and we're currently working on getting whatevidence we can. Thank you for the cooperation." Victory stops for a moment, checking...something going on in his head. Once he clears it out, the microphone icon disappears, beforethe entire UI turns off. The visor retreats back into Victory's helmet. Once it's all clear, Victory sighs and rubs his forefinger and thumb against his eyes. The mechanical hand lowers, and Victory's expression isn't nearly as stern and straight, his voice more casual, but with more than a little weariness to it. "Listen...all that official stuff...I have to keep myself sounding professional for the record when I submit this for investigation. But don't worry. You're not under any sort of suspicion. You were just who was last known to be at ground zero. No one's seen or heard from Miss Americana or Harrier since then. And I just wanted to know what happened to my friends."
  19. Oh god, now I have to remember the rules for social combat. *Scrambles for his copy of the hardcover* By the way, what the symbols basically meant were: Yes, he's recording, but it's only a personal recording, and no one on the other end will be hearing it or getting the recorded data, since he disconnected his microphone from the network. So yeah, he can leave certain systems connected to base while leaving others only local (local meaning just his internal systems), if he needs to.
  20. Giving this a little nudge, in case anyone forgot it.
  21. Have you heard anything yet? It's getting hard to follow stuff that was made before the new layout.
  22. Victory's expression remains static, as he floats in the sky. Even though he's focused on Gabriel, it could be seen through light coming out from the bottom of the visor that displays are going about beneath it. "I wanted to keep moving so I could observe my patrol while asking you a few questions, but very well. I don't think the city will burn down if I'm not looking at it for five minutes." Victory's visor quickly switches modes, becoming see-through, looking like the quasi-transparent plastic it's actually made of. Victory's eyes are visible, plain as day, but around them, Gabriel would be able to see the reverse side of a sequence of screens, showing news feeds, some sort of streaming data analysis, and a small thumbnail of what looks to be Gabriel's face. Maybe a minimized window of what information Victory and AEGIS may have about him? "You may already have figured out why I'm here, but it never hurts to be direct. The prison. You were there when it went up. And you weren't the only one. I want to know exactly what you saw. And more importantly...what happened to the others who were at ground zero." During the last sentence, a sharp eye might notice a microphone icon on the bottom right corner of Victory's visor, and next to it, a small network icon like those find on phones. The icon blinks, then turns grey, with a small red slash going through it.
