  1. James smiled down at the cat and chuckled softly. "Remind me to get you some cream later. Or fish or something. Thanks," he said quietly. He padded quietly forward towards his sleeping friend. He crouched down, just looking at her sleeping form for a long minute. He took a long moment to just enjoy watching her sleep. His mouth quirked into a little smile before he shook his head a little. Unlike quite a large number of the people in this school, James had little fear of Erin despite knowing she could beat the heck outta him without blinking. He reached out to lightly brush the hair from her face, trying not to focus too much on that. "Erin," he said softly. "Rise and shine sleepy."
  2. James sighed, steeling himself. He talked to girl, seduced them, charmed their socks off (literally sometime) without batting an eye. He'd seen monsters and horrors without flinching. He visited hell, regularly, cry crying out loud. There was nothing he was afraid of. So why the heck was he so damn nervous? Come on. Time to man up here. He squared his shoulders and took a deep breath. He settled his face and mind as best he could. He took a step and vanished. He reappeared outside the gates of Claremont. There was still some respect in him for the place, despite not going there anymore. Jumping past the gates seemed a...violation somehow. A little walk wouldn't kill him. He nodded and greeted people as he walked towards the buildings. He'd check Erin's usual haunts first. The gym, the lounge and the like before trying her room.
  3. James brushed himself off, frowning at the burn marks in his clothing from the energy beams. "I was just starting to like this coat too," he muttered to himself. He looked around with a grin and nodded to her. "That was rather entertaining, if somewhat painful. Thanks by the way. Forcing them out alone would have been a serious problem. Want to help throw the lot back through the portal, their machine too, while I work on sealing the breach?" He looked a little annoyed for a moment before his customary smile slid back onto his face. "I'm Hellion by the way, if you prefer code names. Outside of work though, I'm James. James Prophet."
  4. Combat is most likely done. there's still a whole ton of unconscious ones plus those 9 you have locked up in ice...
  5. Dark Star was torn. Despite his efforts, Stesha was still picked up and brought to the Keeper. Who was also still not blasted thanks to those giant bee minions. But Angel was...suffering. He couldn't leave a companion suffering but time was of the essence. He turned and shoved both hands into Freedom Angel's chest. He sent a wave of power deep into her fellow hero. There was a flash of energy as all the foreign poisons and taints were removed through Dark Star's cosmic power. He gave a nod to the hero before flying forward to come close to a stop in front of the Keeper. Dark Star could do nothing...not while the villain was holding Stesha. He couldn't risk it. "Let her go," he said softly, barely constraining the foreign emotions that were threatening to boil up and out. Dark Star seldom felt fear and true anger even less. But at the moment, he had both in abundance...
  6. James grinned in appreciation as the ice lady cracked the invader across the head, sending him flying right back through the gate. Head first. "Nice one," he said with grin. With another burst of will, he sent forth streams of hellfire to strike at the aliens. While two managed to throw themselves out of the way, the others were not so fortunate. The demonically inspired fire struck them and, combined with their previous injures, dropped them to the ground. Those last two, seeing the sorry state of their 'force', decided discretion was the better part of valor. Without looking back, they sprinted for the portal without looking back!
  7. Hellfire blast... Reflex saves... reflex saves (1d20+9=26, 1d20+9=10, 1d20+9=16, 1d20+9=16, 1d20+9=11, 1d20+9=29) Toughness... toughness (1d20+5=22, 1d20+5=14, 1d20+5=6, 1d20+5=7) Gives them all a 2nd bruised which is enough to drop them! 1 uninjured 1 bruised x1 9 immobilized
  8. toughness (1d20+5=7) Good grief! Think you punted him through the damn dimension! Without the gate! 9 immobilized in ice/snared 1 uninjured 5 Bruised x1
  9. "Of course," he said. Derrick smiled as Stesha took the younger woman by the hand to travel by tree. He waved back at her from across the crowded yard. It would take her a moment to get back. Now was a good a time as any to say hi to Ace and Elena. He stepped up to the little group, nodding to Jack since he'd just seen him a few moments ago. "Ace, how are you doing? Elena, nice to see you too. You're looking very nice today," he said with an honest smile. "It's been too long. I don't see any of you enough," he said with some lament. He looked at Elena's date curiously for a moment, figuring introductions would be coming along shortly.
  10. James blinked and suddenly winced at the bitter cold. He couldn't see squat, just barely keeping track of the others was enough for him. He concentrated, increasing the temperature around them by a substantial degree. It was still freezing of course, but not the 'insta-ice-cube' level of cold it had been. He didn't want to risk melting anything or, more importantly, setting off any weird sensors or alarms this place might have. He quickly followed the others threw the doorway, shaking the snow off. "Man. I bet that certainly cuts down on those door-to-door salesman and such," he said with a grin, warming them up easily as he began to look around.
  11. The others seemed to be doing quite well. The large groups of the creatures were dropping like flies all over the place. James stood fast as the others laid into the Behemoths, knocking them about. Unfortunately they were made of tough stuff and refusing to drop. But they were looking a little injured and stunned. He figured now was a good a time as any. Raising both hands, he reached inside himself for the hellish power. Summoning fire to his hands, he pointed up (WAY up) and launched a stream of fire from each hand at the creatures!

    No Mercy (OOC)

well, as I'm at 480 ft away w/ Wander at the Behemoths, going to say I missed that explosion... attacking Behemoth w/ Blast 10 [Fire] (Extra: Autofire x1) and since inspired, I'll full power attack (+5 dam) too. power attack behometh (1d20+12=15) Horrific roll...I'll HP that. hp to reroll (1d20+12=14) good grief Charlie Brown! least I get +10....so 24 to hit. Spending another HP to Surge and do it again (still power attack w/ same one). (if first one drops, I'll switch targets to the second) attack #2 (1d20+12=28) better! And I'm down to 1 HP. Those went fast. :)
  13. The invading aliens seemed to take the loose of their people and device (being that they were encased in ice) extremely well. In fact it spurred them on to greater success! The 5 near Hellion blasted at him, with multiple blaster bolts striking the no longer stunned hero. He staggered backwards, reeling, as he received fresh injuries. Likewise the two aiming at Lady Winter seemed to have focused their aim quite well, with both blasters striking hard!
  14. James looses turn but no longer stunned. Aliens: 5 on James attacking Hellion (1d20+6=23, 1d20+6=23, 1d20+6=18, 1d20+6=24, 1d20+6=11) gah, 3 hits. toughness (1d20+11=27, 1d20+11=18, 1d20+11=13) ugh.. toughness HP to reroll (1d20+11=24) James is now at Bruised x2. 2 attacking Lady Winter (1d20+6=22, 1d20+6=20) ouch...that's 2 toughness saves I need...
  15. DS powerstunts....something to cure Angel. so, minus 1 HP AA suggested the array power vs his power... powerstuning power vs power to cure Angel (1d20+26=34) (if that roll isn't enough, I'll HP a reroll since I rolled an 8. Will wait to do an IC till I know if it worked)
  16. James nodded, just glancing around him. He'd seen many freaky thing and had learned to cope with them quite well. Still didn't make it enjoyable or easy to deal with/see though. This place just ate at the corners of you; most unpleasant. "I couldn't evacuate a whole reality even if I wanted to. I mean, sure it'd be nice to save them all but the sheer mechanics of it are mindblowing, not to mention the ripple affect and cascading realities. It's not something I'd undertake without some serious help Talyor, I promise. It was just a thought, as 'whimsical' as it was for the extreme cases." He sighed. It definitely was something he wasn't likely to do now. Not if this could be the result. "It's not my main intent. The main thing is going to be finding those dimension that haven't fallen yet. And making sure they don't fall. You know, helping them here. Fix a problem there. Kick some bad guys around they couldn't do on their own. Just...help shore them up. Give them a fighting chance. And it'll keep those other forces busy too." He shrugged. "Its still way outside the Mission and our job. But...I've got the means to do it now."
  17. reflex save minions (1d20+7=15) toughness save minions (1d20+11=31, 1d20+11=29, 1d20+11=31, 1d20+11=15, 1d20+11=26, 1d20+11=22, 1d20+11=28, 1d20+11=31, 1d20+11=30, 1d20+11=25) wow...only two are hurt by that.... the other 8 are all fine. Meg's reflex: reflex (1d20+7=22) Not going to roll his toughness for that one He's fine. Divine is up.
  18. James nodded with a grin. There wasn't exactly a lot of time for coming up with a plan. There was no time at all really. So James decided to go with the direct approach. "Yo, snaggletooth! You like this heat or what?" He stepped forward, throwing out a swath of fire the flew by the innocent without any harm. It was definitely more dangerous to the villains however!
  19. James init (1d20+2=13) mag init (1d20+8=26)init (1d20+4=20) So: MEGALODON Minions Hellion Divine
  20. Dark Star just accepted it as truth once Taylor confirmed that the young man before them was their temporally displaced son. It was good enough for him. He relaxed fully, no longer concerned. He didn't know much about alternate dimensions but temporal science was closer to his own knowledge base and he could at least follow along. "While I'm certainly glad we didn't harm you, the truth is always easier. As for the temporal disturbances, it's too late. Simply by existing in this time, you've created a new timeline. It might be so close as to your old one to be almost imperceptibly different but it is still different." He looked between the baby and the adult version of the same person. "While we still need to worry about the younger you, the question does arise about you. While it might be possible to send you forward in time, I would place rather strong odds that that future timeline isn't going to be the exact same one you left. I suppose we could try working with Doctor Archeville to shunt the travel to a different temporal branch, but our odds of success aren't exactly overwhelming. I'm afraid you might be stuck here. Not that that's a bad thing mind you," he said quickly.
  21. James' saves: toughness saves (1d20+11=13, 1d20+11=16) Good grief! Will reroll that first one at least. toughness saves (HP that first one at least! (1d20+11=26) So James: Bruised x1 and Stunned too. Since he's up again before them, I'll let it stand and save the HPs.
  22. attack rolls! first 5 on Hellion. last 2 on Lady Winter (1d20+6=14, 1d20+6=21, 1d20+6=15, 1d20+6=23, 1d20+6=17, 1d20+6=16, 1d20+6=8) It's a Blast 7 attack...so DC 22
  23. The Aliens did not take this assault and interruptions to their plans lying down; well some of them did. The others responding with their blasters, now that they could see once more. Most targeted Hellion, since he was practically amidst them, while a few others attacked Lady Winter. In moments, energy bolts from their rayguns were zapping furiously over the wintery landscape.
  24. James blinked as he could suddenly see again, the blizzard suddenly ceasing. He dismissed the Blade and summoned fire to his hand. He noted the suddenly alien ice blocks with a grin. "Nice one!" he yelled, even as he gestured. Fire splashed out over the area, missing the ones encased in ice of course, to burn the invading aliens. "The machine is some kind of gateway thing. Don't let them finish it. Or break it," he added quickly since he had no idea what that would do.
  25. James does the hellfire attack (not touching the 8 who are in ice; don't want to free them accidentally) vs Hellfire Control 9 [infernal] (Extras: Burst Area, Selective Attack) reflex save vs hellfire (1d20+9=10, 1d20+9=29, 1d20+9=14, 1d20+9=11, 1d20+9=10, 1d20+9=10, 1d20+9=11, 1d20+9=29, 1d20+9=26, 1d20+9=29, 1d20+9=16, 1d20+9=24) 7 out of 12 are hit... toughness save vs hellfire (1d20+5=18, 1d20+5=17, 1d20+5=20, 1d20+5=23, 1d20+5=9, 1d20+5=25, 1d20+5=12) So...4 are hurt and combined w/ previous hit, will drop. 9 immobilized in ice/snared 2 uninjured 5 Bruised x1
