  1. James looked down the street as the distinctive engine was heard. He looked on in appreciation as the car pulled up and Eve got out. He returned her smile as he nodded in agreement with the other. He hopped off the bench and stood with the others near the vehicles, admiring. "Very cool," he said, still smiling. He thought it at the same time, for Eve's sake. He'd go completely nonverbal if it was only her out of respect but the others lacked her gifts. "Well, now that we're all here, we can get going. But this is not the place," he said with a smile. He tapped the beacon. "Ok 'Seph, bring us up." A brief moment later, they were all surrounded by a swirling lights and the parking lot faded away. The scene around them resolved into a massive metallic room and the lights faded away. Their vehicles were there as well in this large hold. There were boxes and crates stacked neat and orderly all over. There were even other vehicles there, all tied down and secured, ranging from jeeps to an APC to a good sized minisub. James nodded as he looked at all of them. "Before you ask, yes, you are back on Hell-Ion's ship. It's my ship now. Everything here is run by Persephone, an amazing AI." While Erin knew this already, he had to fill the others in. "Apparently, Hell-Ion built this ship to be special. A kind of temporal and dimensional anchor as assurance that it would be stable in case of a reality or temporal quake of some kind. When everything returned to normal, the ship was immune to the ripple and stayed in existence. Persephone found me less than day after all that happened. The ship is huge and can do same darn impressive things." He took a breath, letting them absorb that as he let them in on the 'secret giant orbiting spaceship' bit. There was more coming, but one thing at a time.
  2. let the trend continue reflex (1d20+10=16) also have acute senses (smell) if that helps any...
  3. James shrugged. "Yeah, my family is well known. Very. But I like to think I've done enough on my own legs. I've invested enough that I don't worry about money or have to go to them for anything." He shrugged once more. He didn't particularly want to talk about that anyway. "How about you? What's your story? Or do you normally hang out near the malls at closing despite not living anywhere nearby?" He flashed a smile, meaning no harm. He was just making pleasant conversation.
  4. The rain of Hellfire causes havoc amongst the finned fiends. As the waves of flame dissipate, Megalodon is STILL conscious but hurting badly. All but 2 of his minions are down and steaming. The last 2 grab their badly hurt master and leap into the water, quickly vanishing beneath the waves... On the beach, the terrified captive begin to peek through their fingers as quiet settles over the beach. For now, the battle was over and they were safe...
  5. vs DC 24 Mega: toughness (+4 due to injuries and drained toughness) (1d20+4=19) he is bruised AGAIN, and still stunned. sharkmen's reflex first reflex (1d20+8=27, 1d20+8=10, 1d20+8=17, 1d20+8=24, 1d20+8=19, 1d20+8=26, 1d20+8=28, 1d20+8=27) (that should have been +7 though doesn't change much) Toughness those that made it (1d20+11=13, 1d20+11=29, 1d20+11=23, 1d20+11=26, 1d20+11=26) those that didn't make it (1d20+10=27, 1d20+10=20, 1d20+10=22) So...Mega is still stunned, has an effective toughness of 3 now And the sharkmen go down...only 2 remain up after the double fire blast. Mega turn is next. No longer stunned, but not pinned anymore! Divine is stunned so no turn for her. Minions go!
  6. HELLION James wasn't making enough headway. Not nearly fast enough anyway as the horde of sharkmen pummeled Divine hard enough to do some damage and shake her us some. "Ok, that's enough of that!" He summoned Hellfire to his hands and a moment later it exploded outwards. the searing fire washed over Divine and the other hostages, leaving them untouched while to scorched the various attackers.
  7. James will use: Hellfire Control 9 [infernal] (Extras: Burst Area, Selective Attack) [infernal] spending an HP to Surge... and does it again.
  8. Bruise and a Stun for her then I think
  9. James shook his head in amusement, smiling. One of the most dangerous women on the planet and she couldn't fill an ice cream cone. Yet another endearing, and a little entertaining, quality in her. He turned a little to call after her. "The soft serve stuff? Just put the cone underneath and lift the handle up a little bit. Should come right out. When you're done, just lower the handle. Nice and easy." He paused. "If there are none out there, think the waffle cones are in the back or something. Check the fridge," he said with a shrug. He checked his watch. He'd give Eve another minute or two. After that, time was wasting.
  10. He watched her curiously as she spoke. She certainly did not fit the regular mold. "Purse snatcher or no, it was still a ugly little creature. Obviously not human. That took guts," he said with a nod of acknowledgment. He shrugged. "Order whatever you like or as much as you like; my treat. Everything is excellent here. As for soda," he smirked, "I'm sure they'll get you a coke even if they don't have any." He didn't pick up the menu himself, mostly watching her but occasionally scanning the crowd through his peripheral vision.
  11. oh, and Trevors gets a free HP, in case I forget (which is likely)
  12. boar man toughness (-2 due to intimidate included) (1d20+12=18) *sigh*
  13. He nodded with a smile. "Your welcome though I think you were doing pretty good there, chasing that little sucker down by yourself." He glanced over and nodded to the hostess with a charming smile and nod. A moment later, they were led to a nice little table towards the back. James held the chair out for her politely, before seating himself. They were seated and the server handed them some menus politely before excusing herself.
  14. The gas bombs erupted midway between the two groups. Quickly they turned and focused their weapons towards the cloud. However, neither group fired negating the risk of hitting one another, showing a rather significant amount of fire support training by doing so. Another clue was that despite the majority of them facing the cloud, each group had 1 alien looking the other way and expecting trouble. It wasn't perfect, but it did show they had more training than a motley group of alien pirates.
  15. Works for me. Post it. (they are going to blow the @#$@#$ outta that )
  16. James grinned and called in after her. "Help yourself then. Go nuts," he laughed. "I've picked up a few properties and businesses along the way. This is just one; and I pick them up for various reasons. I've been quite busy after all." It wasn't all about magic and dimensional guardianship or heroing. He had other irons in the fire too. He looked over as Trevor aka Midnight drove up, giving the darkly clad youth a nod in greeting. "Trevor's here," he called out, letting Erin know. He shook his head as Trevor walked up. "No, I haven't. And I have been looking a little too. Not tons, but enough. No, this is about something else," he said, licking his ice cream cone a bit more. "Not sure if Eve is going to make it but wanted to give her a bit of time. If you want some ice cream, help yourself," he said, nodding inside.
  17. James smiled as Erin pulled up to the otherwise empty parking lot. He nodded to her as she parked and walked over. "Oh there are. But here, there's no cameras. No witnesses for the most part either. Pretty deserted all in all actually." He grinned and licked the icecream cone. "'Sides, I own this one. If you want some ice cream, help yourself." He takes the keys out of his pocket and holds them out. "Just lock the door when you're done. I gave everyone the night off to make sure the general area would be empty." He shrugged. "We're not going till the others get here to so looks like we've got a few minutes to kill."
  18. James shook his head with a smirk. "It does not. Not by a long shot. It might have quite a market share, production capacity and population dominance, but that's not nearly the same thing. Trust me on that. They are nothing like 'ruling the world'," he said, speaking from personal experience. He shook his head, chuckling. "I don't do time travel. Not my department, sorry. Science and time travel aren't my things. But I'll warn you if there is a next," he says lightly. He took her hand, shaking it and giving it a light squeeze as he smiled. "James. James Prophet." He released her hand and took a seat at the table. "Nice to meet you Caroline."
  19. here we go Start date: Aug 2.
  20. James nodded to himself as he took a seat. He’d sent the message to the others once he was ready. He didn’t want to meet at Claremont, not with nigh-omnipotent Summers there. He hadn’t said much in the message besides that he needed to meet with them about something relating to the “L†event. At the moment only Persephone and Phantom knew what he had in mind. While this wasn’t exactly super secret, it wasn’t something he planned on broadcasting either. This was more…off the books kind of thing. He waited for them in a parking lot of Dairy Queen, sitting on table and eating an ice cream.
  21. He looked at her with concern as soon as they appeared. He crouched down and looked her over. "You ok? I've never had someone react that badly." He looked up and, in a fluent Chinese asked for some water and bread, before turning back to her. "It was just short teleportation; not dimensional. We're still in our reality's Freedom City. I didn't think you wanted to eat out in a reality where China rules the world. But I'm sure I can find one for you if it's that important," he said with a half smile and yet completely serious. "Sorry. I apologize. I don't think anything of it anymore. It's like second nature to me at this point."
  22. Wander and Midnight managed to get back and up into the treetops without being seen, the thick foliage providing cover. Above them and through the thinning branches, despite the daylight, they could see faint flares of light like stars blinking in and out erratically. Whatever was going on up there, it was putting on an interesting, if faint, light show. Below them, things were not quite as chaotic as they had left them. The wounded (read: beaten into unconsciousness) were all gone. There were roughly twenty aliens left, in two equal groups. They were about 150' apart and on very high alert. All many of weapons were pointed in almost every possible direction. They were nervous and on edge, obviously searching for the pair that had decimated half their numbers in a matter of seconds. Getting the drop on them was not going to be easy...
  23. James shrugged. "Well, not necessarily. This place is rather popular. Though given it's just after ten, it should be slowing down." He grinned and they vanished from the concourse of the mall to appear outside the best and most popular place in the city...which was obviously NOT in the Fens. They were likely a little under dressed not that it would matter. After all, there were few exclusive places James couldn't just walk into, reservation or no. "Here we are. Even if you don't want to have sit down meal, they'll pack something up for us. Trust me," he said with a grin. He hadn't gotten her name but she hadn't offered either. Either way, he wasn't concerned. He was just helping out a bit after all.
  24. James appeared outside the closed doors. He was running a little late, but that couldn't be helped. He shrugged his shoulders, settling his long coat into place. His slacks, shirt and long coat were pretty much all he had by way of costume anyway. One of these days, he thought to himself. Not that it mattered much as he didn't have a secret identity anyway. He shrugged and opened the doors. Stepping into the room, he immediately began looking around, checking out the magical talents. He knew Phantom and Ouroboros instantly given how much time he spent working with his partner. The rest were unknowns to him. It was impressive the number of magic users present. Nice turnout. He slowly headed over to the groups, smile on his face. "Apologies for being late. I had to help this lost fellow get home." To his own dimension. But James left that part out. It was nice when the incidents were so minor like that and didn't involved massive explosions, invasions or imminent violence.
