  1. I've got 4pp unspent on Dr. Archeville. I'd like to use those, and to trade in his Elektromagnetischer Schraubenzieher/Electromagnetic Screwdriver (4 more pp), to get the following: 1pp for another rank in Equipment (bringing it to Equipment 5 (25 eps), to add the following to his home HQ: Combat Simulator 2 (attacks & realistic illusions/Holodeck) Defense System (Snare 11, +11 to hit) Gym Power no.2: Super-Senses 22 (communication link [with Archeville's electromagnetic screwdriver], acute analytical extended 2 radius ranged tracking detect energy, acute analytical detect time, microscopic vision 4, acute analytical precognition [Flaws: Only for predicting macro-scale trends and behaviors]) (( Detect Time is from some superhumanly advanced clocks, most of which look at first glance to be simple cuckoo clocks. Precog is similar to what Ozymandias in Watchmen had in his arctic HQ, dozens of tv & news monitors filtered through some data-sorting software and his own incredible brain allowing him to pick up on broad trends. )) ~and~ 7pp for Gadgets 1 (Easy to Lose, 5 'device points'; PF: Restricted - Only usable by those with a +10 or better Knowledge/Technology modifier): an Improved Electromagnetic Screwdriver. Sample Settings: [*:2mt8ydfx]Datalink 5 (5 miles) [*:2mt8ydfx]Enhanced Skill 18 (+6 to any 3 skills that his home HQ can help with) plus Super-Senses 1 (communication link with home HQ) [*:2mt8ydfx]Move Object 1 (Str 5; Extra: 5-ft. Burst Area; Flaw: Machines Only; PFs: Precise, Selective, Subtle) [*:2mt8ydfx]Move Object 1 (Str 5; Extra: Perception; Flaw: Machines Only; PFs: Precise, Subtle) [*:2mt8ydfx]Nullify 5 (all effects of an electrical circuit descriptor at once; Flaw: Action/Full Round) [*:2mt8ydfx]Obscure 2 (radio sense, 10-ft. radius) [*:2mt8ydfx]Strike 3 (electricity, heat, radiation; PFs: Extended Range, Precise) [*:2mt8ydfx]Super-Senses 5 (acute analytical ranged tracking detect energy) [*:2mt8ydfx]Super-Senses 5 (acute analytical ranged tracking detect physical objects) [*:2mt8ydfx]Super-Senses 5 (penetrates concealment detect metal) The Enhanced Skills/Communication Link is to show that, when he's using his E.S. to help him with knowledge skills and the link, he's accessing his HQ's extensive library databases. Conversely/similarly, many of the advanced tools in his home HQ mimic some of the functions of his E.S.. Thus, the bonuses from both sources do not stack, as they're essentially the same source. 2. I'm still trying to figure out what those freed up 3pp went to. Though, since everything does balance out, I suppose it doesn't really matter. Approved!
  3. But Mario and Kirby and Sonic don't fly (except in special circumstance). Like Herid said, not all video game characters have very high combat ability and blast and flight and extremely high saving throws. Also, should the Comprehend be in his Alternate Form? Is it not something he can do while in his 'normal' form?
  4. Bluff/'innuendo' check to let Maria know he's not REALLY switching sides: 17 Bluff or Diplomacy roll vs. WK (not sure which is more appropriate): 3 Spend an HP to re-roll: 19 Would Archeville's Attractive factor in (at least partially), seeing as how he looks almost exactly like what WK thinks the Master Race should look like? Bluff/'innuendo' check to let Dryad know he's trying to set things up to help her take these guys down: 1 Crap.
  5. Time to put my acting ability, and my memories of the propaganda of those neo-Nazi boneheads who tried recruiting me, to the test, he thought. "Very clever of you, sir!" Archeville called out to White Knight, "exactly the sort of cunning move befitting von of your skill und knowledge! Take as many hostages as you can, ve know those meddling 'super-heroes' vouldn't dare risk harming them to get to you und your brothers! Meat shields, that's all they're good for!" He paused a second, then added, "Vell, and a vooden shield, too." As he talked, he tried to look at Maria and winked, hoping to clue her in on the ruse he was attempting. Maria may have noticed that the doktor's Germanic accent was less thick than it had been; perhaps he was trying to speak clearly so the White Knight was sure to understand him. "By the vay, you'll vant to be keeping a hold on that von -- even though I am sure your cleansing fires could reduce her to ash in no time flat, she really is much more useful as a living slave than as dead kindling. You see," he said, stepping out to full view of White Knight, making sure the ignorant bigot got a good look at his own Nazi-ideal features, "she and I are zhe reason you all haff your powers back. Und if ve vork together, I think ve can do some truly terrific things. Rebuild und," he cut his eyes to Dryad, "reform the whole vorld, in accordance with your righteous vision." Hopefully I'm still new enough to the area for him not to know who I am, he thought. Bluff/'innuendo' check to let Maria know he's not REALLY switching sides: 17 Bluff or Diplomacy roll vs. WK (not sure which is more appropriate): 3 Spend an HP to re-roll: 19 (or more; see OOC thread) Bluff/'innuendo' check to let Dryad know he's trying to set things up to help her take these guys down: 1 Crap.
  6. Not such a good roll -- a mere 13. But, I'll stick with it, because I've got plans for his Hero Points (and may be using one this round), and that may be enough for the char to know enough for his plan.
  7. Alternate Form is a Container, each rank giving 5pp worth of powers for your Alt Form. The costs also seem a tad off. I believe this would get what you seem to be after. However, this means all his forms are going to have the same stats, no matter what; also means none have any degree of superhuman strength (Master Chief) or leaping ability (MegaMan) or so on. It might be better to either A) do a few different alternate forms, put some Dynamic APs in there, or C) go with Shapeshift Flawed to only being able to do Video Game characters (and list a few examples). Also, his Initiative and Grapple mods need to be entered. Lastly, what's this "Imagination Spirit"? And what is his "Gamer's Creed"?
  8. One other thing: I'm assuming this means that, when that AP is active, his Force Field 6 becomes both Impervious and Reflective? If so, a note to that effect (maybe just tagging on "for Force Field" at the end) would be appreciated :)
  9. How much does Dr. A know about White Knight (or anyone else in the prison)? Can I make some sort of Knowledge check (current events? pop culture?) to see what he knows? (Either of those would be a straight-up Int check for him.)
  10. Hellboy on INSIDE THE ACTOR'S STUDIO (20 sec ad/clip/thing) Hellboy plays video game with Chuck (from CHUCK) (20 sec ad/clip/thing) GHOST HUNTERS meets Hellboy (20 sec ad/clip/thing)
  11. Make it something along the lines of With a note somewhere saying "Can teleport unattended items within 25 feet of himself, up to 500 lbs. total."
  12. Neither is a match for the mythical lamia, true... but neither are gorgons (D&D gorgons are metallic bulls that breathe a petrifying gas; in Greek mythology gorgons are monstrous women with petrifying gazes) or kobolds (in D&D they're either dog-like or draconic gnome-hating trap-making runts; in German mythology they're a type of shapechanging sprite) or stirges (in D&D they're some weird vampire bat/mosquito cross; in ancient Roman myth they're vampiric owls) or the tarrasque (in the original French myths it was a six-legged turtle-shelled scorpion-tailed lion-headed fire-breathing critter with a moustache that was beguiled & weakened by a beautiful woman) or trolls (D&D's Ogres are a closer match to the trolls of Norse myth; D&D's Trolls are taken from Poul Anderson's Three Hearts and Three Lions). But this new one has almost nothing in common with the one from the past 20+ years of D&D history, with what has been established in the D&D 'mythos'. So why bother changing it? Why not just give this insect swarm-in-fey's skin a new name, and leave the D&D lamia as the illusion-casting Wis-draining lion-woman it's been in all the prior editions? (Or just omit the lamia altogether, since 4E seems to not like attribute drain?)
  13. Just to be clear, what'd you do with the 3pp freed up from lowering Luck from 5 to 2?
  14. Looks kosher to me, so have another approval.
  15. That... is bizarre. The Refs'll mull over it.
  16. The new lamia is a cool critter, but I'm trying to figure out why WotC didn't just give it a different name, rather than give it the name of an existing critter.
  17. Anyone know why the lamia got changed from a Wisdom-draining tauric lion-woman to a swarm of bugs that devour eladrins (high elves) from the inside out & wear their skins as disguises?
  18. Heavy is still this side of Medium, yes :)
  19. End of Round Recap Players Grimalkin -- 1 Bruise -- 0 HP ManBat -- Full Health -- 1 HP Nightrival -- Full Health -- 3 HP Reflexion -- 1 Bruise, 1 Staggered, Shaken (by ManBat) (DC 20 Will save vs. Mental Blast) -- 1 HP Initiative Orders 29 -- Hispanic Woman (intimidated by Nighrival; in living room w/ Reflexion) 28 -- Nightrival (in bedroom) 26 -- Asian Woman (???) 22 -- Reflexion (down in living room) 21 -- Slick Willie (Unconscious? Dead? in bedroom) 21 – Heavy (Bruised, Blind & Deaf [effective initiative 17]; in bedroom) 20 -- "Twitchy Pete" (now in living room w/ Reflexion) 19 -- Druggies (6; 1 down; 5 up; 3 Shaken = 2 Fleeing, 1 Panicked) 17 -- Grimalkin (in kitchen) 15 – Manbat (outside)
  20. Heavy turns -- seemingly wholly by chance as he blunders about -- in such a way that Nightrival's kick hits him square in the forehead, rather than the temple as the vigilante had intended. Due to the change in angle, and the differing relative toughness of the hit location, Heavy doesn't even seem to register the attack. "C'mere, ya lil'-!" Heavy says as he tries to grab for Nightrival, but instead hits a lamp. It is clear that he's still totally blind and deaf. Reflexion, barely able to see due to his eyes squeezing shut from pain, finds himself almost completely paralyzed with pain. Knowing who attacked him makes the situation somewhat worse, as he knows exactly how deadly ruthless she can be. Targette saunters down the stairs, a "cat's got the mouse" smile forming across her lips. She looks down at Reflexion, then looks around, and sees the fleeing druggies. She then turns back to Reflexion, looks him over as if trying to make up her mind on something... then Reflexion feels another spike in his arm and brain. Outside, ManBat watches the five Druggies bolt, but suddenly two turn around and start heading back towards the house. Oddly, they don't run back, they just kinda... mosey. Suddenly, he hears Reflexion (gurgle/moan/scream/yelp) in pain from inside the house, soon followed by the sound of... a toy helicopter? [[ OOC: Reflexion can try and make a DC 16 Will save to shake off ManBat's fearsome presence. He can also try and make a DC 20 Will save against Targette's mental blast.]] Grim fades from sight, but 'Twitchy Pete' continues rapidly battering at the air for a few moments. Then his head jerks up and he looks about, moving so fast she was sure his neck would snap. He then begins whirling like a dervish once around the kitchen, then whirls off through the two-way swinging door into the next room. As the door swings back shut, Grim can just make out that there's at least one other person in the room.
  21. Still working, though it seems to still be holding at "your char concept isn't enough to warrant more than Luck 2."
  22. I don't have a problem with letting chars from other M&M books (like CROOKS) in, as long as their backgrounds can be meshed to the existing campaign setting. Can't speak for the other Refs, though ;)
