  1. Shall I add that to the Board Rules thread, then? Or do any of the other Refs have anything to add?

  3. It's a hell of a deal! *dodges thrown tomatoes*
  4. Gah, everything's flipped! *changes to subsilver2* Ah, that's better.
  5. If it's a suit that looks like completely ordinary clothes, that'd be the Subtle power feat on the Device itself. You'll also want the Normal Identity drawback to show how much time it takes to put on the suit.
  6. Thanks! I'd read through the IC thread earlier and saw her pic in an earlier post. This is gonna be one 'interesting' heist -- I can'twait to see Grim's/Whisper's reaction when one of the 'mooks' turns into a demon!
  7. Shadowboxer, Nightrival finds that Slick Willie is merely unconscious, not dead. Somewhat oddly, he doesn't find any marks at all on him.
  8. End of Round Recap Players Grimalkin -- 1 Bruise (DC 18 Ref save) -- 0 HP ManBat -- 1 Bruise (DC 20 Will save) -- 1 HP Nightrival -- Full Health -- 3 HP Reflexion -- 1 Bruise, 1 Staggered -- 1 HP Initiative Orders 29 -- Hispanic Woman (in front doorway) 28 -- Nightrival (in bedroom) 26 -- Asian Woman (in kitchen) 22 -- Reflexion (just outside, hiding) 21 -- Slick Willie (Unconscious? Dead? in bedroom) 21 – Heavy (Bruised x2; outside) 20 -- "Twitchy Pete" (now in living room) 19 -- Druggies (6; 2 down, 4 up; 3 Shaken = 2 Fleeing, 1 Panicked) 17 -- Grimalkin (in kitchen) 15 – Manbat (outside)
  9. Reflexion and ManBat, as well as the Hispanic woman, all notice a fairly large man being thrown out of the 2nd floor window. He lands with a (to Nightrival a very satisfying) THUD... Doing a quick look-around, Nightrival sees he is indeed alone, with no sign of the Asian woman. His trained ears do pick up on some activity downstairs, though, lots of crashing and bashing. The Asian woman's eyes go noticeably wide when she sees "Foreshadow," but seems unphased by his words. "Maybe you should've worn sunglasses!" she says as an intense purple light radiates from her, accompanied by a deafening near-ultrasonic whine. [DC 18 Reflex save, please] Reflexion remains hidden, planning what to do next. Heavy stands up and yells out, "Dat da best yous got!" As ManBat dives towards the Hispanic woman in the doorway, he feels another wave of pain tear through him! [Another DC 20 Will save, please] [if the mental blast doesn't stun him], ManBat dives for the woman and connects with his claws, raking across her midsection (and shredding her rather nice dress), but she twists and turns at the last second to just evade his grapple. Eerily, she remains silent the whole time. Before he swoops back up, ManBat can just see past her into the living room, sees someone in there whirling about like a top. He could also see, out of the corner of his eye as he made his way back into the night sky, that the woman was now... smiling? The lone moseying druggie reaches the crackhouse, and begins to clamber back into it through the broken window.
  10. I'm not sure if the Wide extra is allowed here. I've heard it get lots of flak around the ATT. The Refs'll confer on it.
  11. I've still gotten no word from Master_Pelle. I'll be posting the next round's actions either tonight or tomorrow morning.
  12. Back at Terhune's apartment, Jos put on the final touches to his disguise, a dusting of makeup over the thin layer of latex over his nose and eyebrows which gave him a more Aquiline -- and, he hoped, more thug-ish -- appearance. He'd gone slowly and carefully, taking nearly four hours [i.e., Taking 20] to insure that he wouldn't be recognized. "If half of what I've heard about the decor of that place is true," he thought aloud as he pulls the Goodwill-bought tee shirt over his head, "robbing it will be a boon to everyone." The night before, not long after he'd been 'contracted' for the job, he'd stashed a change of clothes in a large duffel bag on the roof of a squat little motel which huddled between the Golden Calf and Paradise. He hoped they were still there. One of the five mooks stood out from the others just a bit, though that's not to say he doesn't look like a mook. Rather than a tank top he wears a UWL (Ultimate Wrestling League) t-shirt, and he was more on the wiry side than bulky. He's also the mook most intently examining the map from behind a cheap pair of sunglasses.
  13. *appears in a puff of smoke* I'd asked thelazyblank if there was a way I might get my new guy in on this, and I think we've cobbled together a way.
  14. 'HUNKA' STONE; ROMAN ARTIFACT AN ELVIS-ALIKE
  15. Another thing that concerns me -- in a "are you sure you want to do this?" way -- is that that QR can only transfer a maximum of 10pp worth of effects at a time, and those immediately start fading, and it can only be used 5 times per hour (at most).
  16. Hrm... I'll have to think on this, because I'm very leery of the 4- and 5-point per rank Drains (and Boosts).
  17. It's not Area, but it should have the Range reduced to Touch. You could certainly add Area, or whatever.
  18. Yes, the entire Container can be nullified as a rank 1 effect. Though it would require that "all traits of [some] descriptor" level of Nullify, not the "one at a time" level, since the Container contains numerous things. At least, that's my interpretation.
  19. No. Well, actually, let me take that back. What does the QR target: a person or their Devices? Does it transfer innate mutant abilities, or technological ones, or both? Would it work on the Fantastic Four? On Dr. Doom? On Ultron? On Batman? On Superman? On Metallo? On Captain Marvel (either the Marvel or DC one)?
  20. That is being worked on. Never said we catch all of 'em. And, again, archived character. And, again (again), my own opinions, not necessarily those of all the other Refs. Indeed... but since the original issue is tied quite closely to the cost of Morph (which is what would let the high-ranked thing fit into the low-ranked Container in the first place), it would seem there'd need to be a consensus on that issue first. But, in a broader sense, we can look at other official/published containers and see how they're done. Do any of them have powers in them that are ranked higher than the Container itself? Yes, several do, most notably in assorted Devices. So, are higher-ranked thing allows in a lower-ranked Container? Certainly. But that's not what I'd be concerned about.
  21. Why shouldn't they? It is, if I recall, how the various Board Rules regarding Duplicate/Summon came into being.
  22. You've never been in a game where a character, at start, seemed fine, but in the course of play showed to have some combination of things that made them a game breaker?
  23. RPGs are living and evolving things. Rules change as they're tested. And do remember that the rule's not being invalidated, I'm just expressing my disagreement with it. There is a difference.
  24. Yeah, but neither of those characters are active, so it's probably not best to go by them (since they're not being used and thus not being tested for balance). Plus, I didn't approve either of those, so my "this is my opinion" still stands ;)
