  1. Oh, the poor things, Sage thought as she caught sight of the two children. The pale-haired telepath took a quick look around, to see if there were any adults who appears as though they were searching for someone, but nothing was stood out to her. Sage was reasonably sure she'd recognize the frightened, panicked look on a parents face when their child had gone missing. She had seen the same look on her own parents face when she got lost in the woods outside their chateau when she was… Sage shook her head, clearing her thoughts and focusing on the task at head. Dashing over to the side of the two children, with her hands out to the side, palms open so as to not frighten them, Sage gently made contact with their minds, invoking a sense of calm. Stopping a pace away, the diminutive acrobat crouched, so that her eyes were level with the two kids sitting on the curb. A small smile was on her face, as she raised a snow white eyebrow and gently whispered into their minds, --Hello, my name is Sage. Who are you?-- Sage glanced over her shoulder, taking stock of the immediate area before looking back at the children, --And may I help you?--
  2. Eve waved her hand dismissively, --I can pick up something from wherever we're going.-- She rubbed her chin thoughtfully. --I've surfed a bit back home, mostly off the coast of Britanny, so I'd be up for that.-- Eve shrugged, --Maybe some scuba afterword? Whatever, I just want to get out and do something.--
  3. Eve placed a hand over her heart and staggered as if she were struck, --Your words, sir, they cut me to the quick. I fear I could not survive the emotional suffering of another assault upon my stature. It would surely be my undoing!-- Eve tried to deliver all of that with a straight face, but couldn't help but chuckle halfway through the delivery. --Hey, Trevor,-- the pale-haired girl solemnly added, --Thank you.--

  5. Eve looked thoughtful for a moment then shrugged. --Dancing and clubs are nice and all, but I'm an athlete.-- She grinned, --And you know how those can be. If we're not pushing ourselves it's just not fun.-- She turned to pace a little but before she could take more than half a step her eyes lit up and she swung back around to look at James. --You said beaches, swimming. That sounds fun.--

  7. Eve laughed brightly, a rare sound from the normally silent girl. She ducked down and back and in a fluid motion snapped out a jab at the taller teen's chest, the smile on Eve's face, as well as the sense of playfulness flowing out from her serving to indicate that there was no malice. --Short jokes?-- she asked, grinning impishly as she danced smoothly away from Trevor. --You can do better than that, Gabby.--
  8. Eve paused for a second, and then flashed another wide grin. --Oh, I just thought your ability to so greatly understate things was amusing.-- She tilted her head to the side for a moment, her eyes unfocused slightly, a pensive look on her face. --Oh, help. Yes, you can help. What do normal people do for fun around here? I've kind of had my fill of charity functions, private parties and all that for the moment.--
  9. Eve nodded, smiling. -- Right, I'm Eve. Eve Martel.-- She took a moment to glance around the area before nodding at James, her right hand coming up to cover her mouth as she silently laughed, a sense of amusement emanating from her. --You could say that,-- she cheerfully admitted. -- You could also say I'm relatively new to this city and this country. I barely had time to get my bearings before that whole mess with the Grue and then.. well let's just say I'm still a bit lost and bewildered and just a smidge overwhelmed.--
  10. Eve looked thoughtful while she listened to Trevor's thoughts, a brief frown flickering on her face at the mention of how his parents treated him. Her frown deepened at his expression of thanks, and she shook her head and made a brief flicking motion with her right hand, as if she were throwing something away. --It's what we Martel's do and I am pleased to have been of some, albeit minor, assistance. That your parents are alive, despite your difficulties with them, is wonderful news.-- the telepath quietly responded. Her mouth twisted into a wry grin, --Look, Trevor, I appreciate what you are trying to accomplish, but we set out to restore the status quo. I knew what that meant.-- She reached out and touched Trevor lightly on the forearm, --It was essential.--
  11. --Too many witnesses,-- Eve observed. --We were in an auditorium full of people, not to mention that backstage was also crowded. There wasn't any way I could perform that act clean and get away unnoticed.-- Raking a hand through her white hair, she absently added, --La caque sent toujours le hareng.--
  12. --I promise I won't rummage,-- assured Eve, the edges of her lips turning up into a faint smile. Eve closed her eyes for a moment and inhaled the fragrance diffused throughout the garden before she gracefully rose from her sitting position and brushed off a few errant blades of grass from her pants. --It was James, wasn't it?-- the telepath inquired, quirking an eyebrow. --Something I can help you with?--
  13. --I don't know how much you know about me, or think you know about me, but there is over thirteen hundred years of history disagreeing with you on that last point, Trevor,-- Eve responded perspicaciously. --I didn't want to give it up, you know,-- the telepath quietly admitted, --I kept trying to think of ways that would let me keep it or somehow convince you guys to let the world stay that way. It flew in the face of everything I have been taught… but I was sorely tempted.-- Eve sighed, and opened her eyes, directing her gaze up at Trevor. --I was going to lose it anyway, since you all were determined to "fix" things. It might as well have been on my terms, right?--
  14. Eve winced when Trevor mentioned gymnastics, but she hoped he didn't notice. Chances are if he knew that he might know that she was banned from competing. And might even know why, Eve thought to herself, hoping that this was not the case though she reasoned that at least here she might find some sort of understanding. Arriving at the office, Eve stepped in for her brief meeting with Duncan Summers. It was merely a formality; after all, the legwork had already been settled a bit ago. As she exited the office she beamed a smile at Trevor and Aiko, --Well, now I'm official!-- she elated. --You said something about a lounge, Trevor?--
  15. Eve was sitting cross-legged on the grass near the zen garden's koi pond, her eyes closed and a distant expression on her face. A light breeze blew through the garden, rustling her niveous hued hair and briefly intensifying the scent of the nearby flowers. After a few heartbeats the petite telepath slowly opened her eyes and looked at James, her head tilting to one side as she regarded him.
  16. Eve closed her eyes, tilting her head back and resting it against the tree trunk. Unfolding her hands in her lap, Eve lightly brushed the very tips of the grass. --It's not what I wanted,-- she said simply, pulling up a few blades of grass. --Do you know what it is like to train so hard, for most of your life, riding the edge of perfection and then have that all stripped away in one moment?-- --I had my own dreams and ambitions. My own plans. And then I had these 'wonderful gifts' dumped on me.-- Eve made a sour face, --And all the associated baggage that comes with that.-- She sighed, --I never wanted this responsibility. I thought I'd be the lucky one.--
  17. Eve glared at Trevor, the expression on her face as well as the emotion she was broadcasting left little imagination to just how much she enjoyed being cut off. The annoyed expression gave way to one of resignation and Eve gracefully sidestepped around Trevor, though she paused a half-step past him and looked over her shoulder, eyebrow raised. --Follow.-- A short while later, sitting in the grass and resting her back against one of the many tall trees which embrace the zen garden, Eve looked over at Trevor. The expression on her face was one of calm, as though the telepath was finding comfort and strength in her surroundings. --How do you feel about your abilities, Trevor?-- the young woman asked.
  18. Brushing an errant winter white lock from her face, Eve directed a wry grin at Trevor, the melancholy aura fading around her somewhat. --Indeed we did. But the terms were you get me away from there, and I'm pretty sure that was Chris' ride we just got off of. Sorry hero, maybe next time.-- As Eve delivered that last statement she turned on her heel and headed into the school.
  19. No? Heh, I just assumed he did.
  20. How's his Gather Info? Per the rep chart that she used to compete is one of those things anyone can figure out.
  21. Init. (1d20+5=18) Sage will be doing her emotion control thing, though it's a 50 foot radius effect surrounding her. (So not as pimp as the others but oh well!)
  22. Eve raised a questioning eyebrow at her brother. --What was that?-- she asked, referring to Atlas' announcement. Looking down from the heights of the Martel Building overlooking the heart of Freedom City's downtown area, Eve could see the immediate effects of the announcement. The visual effect was akin to kicking over an anthill, and from this vantage point that's what the people below looked like. "Trouble, Eve. That was trouble." --Can I help?-- the telepath inquired, turning back to look at Nicholas as she heard the sounds of his armor sealing. The armored form of Paladin nodded once. "I will drop you off below. I know you don't know your way around the city yet, so stick to the city center. Do what you do best, calm the citizens, disable any threats to their safety." --Where will you be?-- Paladin clenched his armored fist, a blade of azure energy flickering into being. "Doing what I do best." Scant moments later, Sage watched her brother fly off for a second before sprinting off into the chaos.

    Junior Prom?

    I could see Eve attending.
