  1. Sage frowned as the two thugs converged on, and assaulted, Push. Initially she had intended to sneak close to the large alien and quickly put him down, but the hammer wielding hero looked like he could use some help. Slipping up unseen to the alien still astride his bike, Sage took a vicious swipe at him, telekinetic blade blazing a brilliant crimson.
  2. Power Attack: -5 Attack Bonus for +5 Damage w/ Mind Spike (1d20+6=18). If this hits it is a DC 26 Will Save to resist Drain Will 11 and a DC 26 Will Save vs. Strike damage.

Eve made a small sound of agreement. --Those are the ones I usually have my eye on, yes.-- The gymnast flashed Jill a quick grin before reaching for her coat. --Whenever you're ready.--
  4. Earth-Prime Sage nodded at the Dr. Atom hologram. Whatever feelings of awe she had from being inside Freedom Hall, or standing face to face (as it where) with Dr. Atom where completely buried under the gravity of the situation. The telepath reached out to the consciousness that thought of itself as Dr. Atom and added him to the mental conference call, and after offering Nancy Gardener a hesitant glance, reconnected with her as well. --Apologies to you both.-- Sage said, struggling with the guilt she instinctively feels whenever she touches a mind unbidden. --I am a mute; this is the only way that I may speak with you. If you do not wish to have our minds touch I will respectfully withdraw. In any case, yes, Dr. Atom for a brief moment I attempted to 'probe' the rift. My abilities are not ideally suited for such a task, for that I would recommend The Scarab or Psyche of Young Freedom. But what I found, aside from the images,-- Sage shot an apologetic glance at Nancy Gardener, --Was another mind probing the rift.-- The telepath scrubbed a gloved hand through her white hair. --To me, and other psychics I am sure, each mind has its own unique psychic impression. It's how we can tell we're 'speaking' to the right mind, or how we can locate someone on the other side of the planet. Well the mind I sensed? It felt, with some very subtle differences, much like my own.-- Earth-Paragon Unwrapping her arms from around Midnights torso the tiny telepath slipped off the bike and frowned at the assembled crowd. Turning her head toward Midnight she raised an eyebrow, the black visor of her helmet concealing the expression, though the feeling was transmitted along the mental link. <<How do you want to do this? Stealth approach or bully them out of our way? I'm down for either.>>
  5. Earth Prime Sage offered a weak but grateful smile to Midnight, touching his hand lightly before taking a half-step back out of reach. --Sorry about the infodu-- Merde, Madam Gardener.. she was linked!-- One thing at a time, girl. Sage told herself. --There is something else.-- Reestablishing contact with the team she relayed the images she had witnessed, though she edited out the emotion that was part of the original viewing. The telepath took care to relay the events slowly, taking steps to prevent a sense of information overload. --One more thing,-- Sage added as she finished the relay, --When I looked into the rift I felt another mind. It was looking back.-- Earth Paragon <<I'm fine,>> the telepath murmured to her comrades as she accepted Midnight's proffered hand, shooting Wander an apologetic glance . <<It just took me by surprise, that's all. I agree with Wander, we need to get to Freedom Tower. I felt something from that rift, another mind. Whatever or whoever it is may be behind all this.>>

Eve chuckled. --Mm, I suppose. And it is handy for interrogations. You know, completely crushing their mental defenses, rendering them much more susceptible to influence and suggestion, possibly even rendering them comatose. You're right though, it could be worse.-- The gymnast frowned. --I'd be horrified if it did any lasting damage or worse yet kill them. Ugh, my family would be so upset with me.--

--Your secret is safe with me,-- Eve responded affably. --Mm, besides, your hair is pretty. The color and length are a perfect complement to your features.-- The door to the bathroom opened and Eve stepped out, dressed casually in a comfortable pair of jeans and a black turtleneck. Nimbly brushing past Jill she poked through her jewelry case on her dresser, selecting a pair of diamond studs. --Well, there is more to it. If I concentrate just a little I can pinpoint someone's location; basically I home in on an individual's residual psychic impression. And if I get really close to someone, like touch them?-- Eve turned to face Jill and wiggled her fingers at the taller teen, --I do more than just read surface thoughts.-- Eve's expression slipped slightly, the white haired telepath looking a bit uncomfortable. --That… well it has some side effects on a person.--
  8. Earth Prime Sage nodded at Edge quickly finding the mind that identified itself as Nancy Gardener, honing in the residual physic impression her self-image impressed on the world. --Madam Gardener, apologies for the intrusion. This is Sage. I am currently assisting Young Freedom and there has been an incident involving the Pegasus. It's... it's destroyed Ma'am. We have our hands full with the levee situation, is there someone you can contact for assistance? I will maintain this connection and await your response. And ma'am, our hearts are with you.-- Standing up and turning to face the rift she flashed a faint smile at Midnight and inclined her head, sending him a brief impression of thanks for his concern. Sage didn't expect to discover anything; her mental senses aren't particularly tuned for diagnostic purposes, she needed a mind to connect with. Sage inhaled sharply as a series of images and malevolent intentions flood her consciousness; images of terror, feelings of hate, Pyramid Plaza burning and collapsing and so much death. A fresh feeling of horror welled up inside of her as she suddenly realized she was broadcasting and she abruptly severed the connection with Midnight and Nancy Gardener. And for a brief moment, as she turned her mind away from the rift, she felt another mind examining it. Earth Paragon Gracefully dismounting from the motorcycle, Sage removed the black helmet gave her head a quick shake and brushed a gloved hand through the white locks. With a casual flick of the wrist she tossed the helmet at Midnight, favoring him with the briefest of smiles before turning to look up at the rift before waiting to see if he'll catch the projectile. Curious and acting on impulse she sends a questing mental probe at the rift. The telepath blinked in surprise as she felt another mind probing the rift from the other side. It felt familiar, somehow, but then it was gone abruptly. Linking her mind to the assembled teens, Sage started to mention her revelation before a flood of image, emotion and intent slams into her consciousness. Whimpering she drops to one knee and grasps her head, fragments of what she sees travelling across the mental links.

--Hmm? Oh, the white hair. Nope, it's just one more genetic fluke in my cornucopia of genetic flukes. Do you think I should dye my hair?-- Eve thought for a second. She did dye her hair at one time, but the only color that actually took well was black, everything else just looked slightly off due to her base hair color. --Euh, I can get pretty sick of my brother and sister regardless of how little time I spend with them. We are siblings after all. That sort of thing just comes with the territory.-- The door to the bathroom opened a crack and Eve poked her head out, her hair slightly mussed from a vigorous toweling, and grinned at Jill. --Given a period to adjust most people find telepathy to be cool. Almost finished here.-- She ducked her head back into the bathroom and closed the door. --Rapid, private, communication that allows you to project thoughts, images and feelings? What's not to like? My range isn't all that impressive, though. I mean I can feel everyone's mind on the planet to a faint degree but I can only firmly touch the ones within twenty miles or so.--

--No, not much, lately it's been just vacations and family reunions Which is a lot less than I would like to. She's off…-- Eve trailed off for a moment. --She's in Jakarta at the moment. Odd, I wonder what.. never mind.-- There was a sound of water turning off as Eve paused again. --It is nice having Nicholas nearby, even though I usually just see him on the weekends I decide I've had enough of Claremont. Which is just as well; between work and… well he's rather busy and rarely at our house in North Bay.--
  11. Earth Prime Sage sat near the wounded, eyes closed with an inward expression on her face. There was little she could do for them directly so she concentrated her efforts on what she could do. Mere moments after the explosion she was already firing messages off to paramedics to come tend the wounded as well as contacting the FCPD so they could cordon off the debris field. --Edge, who can I contact at Freedom Hall? I need a name, or a memory, something to help me locate their mind.-- Earth Paragon Sage stopped running as she realized she was lost. She hadn't spent much time in this part of the city, and the torrential rains were limiting visibility and ruining what few landmarks she'd recognize. With a sigh of frustration Sage closed her eyes and concentrated on locating some of the minds that were most familiar to her. She detected Edge, Wander and Cobalt Templar in City Center already. Midnight on the other hand was… The telepaths eyes snapped open and she dashed down an alley. Unless she missed her guess, Midnight should be rounding the corner right about… now.

The sound of laughter on the other side of the door, muffled though it was by the physical barrier and the competing noise of the shower was joined by a sense of amusement filtering through the mental connection. --Oh, I can hear you just fine, Jill. I assume you're talking about the photo on my desk? That's Nicholas and Isabel, my older brother and sister. Nicholas lives here in the city, and it was he who got me enrolled here at Claremont. Apparently he knows Mr. Summers quite well.--

Eve wandered to her dorm in silence. It is a spacious two bedroom dorm with a shared bathroom. One room was clearly Eve's; it actually had stuff in it. Not as much as someone who lived full time on campus might have, but there were a few personal touches. Her desk was bare but for her unpowered laptop, a desk lamp, and a framed photo depicting Eve and two other individuals; a blond haired man and a dark haired woman, both with green eyes and more than a passing resemblance to the teen telepath. Tossing her satchel onto her bed picking through her closest for a sensible change in clothing and ducked into the bathroom. --I'll only be a few minutes.--
  14. Earth-Prime Sage brushed a damp lock of white hair out of her eyes as she looked up from placing another sandbag. She didn't mind the work, in fact she requested it. Brought out into the field due to the communication advantage she provides, she had spent most of time under a tent relaying messages between the various crews. It was driving her little nuts though and the constant downpour wasn't helping brighten her mood. Sage didn't see the explosion; she was facing the wrong direction. But she heard the terrible sound and Edge's call for help... Earth-Paragon <<Acknowledged,>> Sage replied, whispering in Edge's mind. She wasn't that far from City Center, only a mile or so. "A mile run in the rain?" Sage thought to herself, "I'd rather stay inside where it's dry."
  15. Player Name: Sorus Character Name: Willow Power Level: 8 (110/128PP) Trade-Offs: -3 Defense / +3 Toughness Unspent Power Points: 18 Progress To Gold Status: 23/90 (Silver Status earned by Sage) [floatr][/floatr] In Brief: A dryad, far from home, performing her duties as a guardian of the natural world. Alternate Identity: None Identity: Public Birthplace: Ancient Earth Occupation: None Affiliations: The Interceptors Family: Karya, Balanos, Kraneia, Morea, Aigeiros, Ptelea, Ampelos, Syke, and many others (Siblings) Age: At least 50,000 years (older than behavioral modernity in Humans) Apparent Age: 26 Gender: Female Ethnicity: Dryad (Preserver Bioengeered Lifeform) Height: 5'7" Weight: 130 lbs. Eyes: Amber Hair: White Description: Tall and slender and appearing as though she were in her mid twenties, Willow possess piercing amber eyes and a wild mane of snow white hair, which she usually wears in a long flowing ponytail. This, combined with her unblemished copper-hued skin, fine bone structure and delicate pointed ears enhance her exotic appearance and hint at her inhuman origins. She movement is practiced and serene, and brings to mind the lightness and grace of a dancer. Willow frequently has a faint smile, as though amused at some secret joke, and watches the world through eyes that are far older than her apparent young years. Willow tends to favor natural hues, favoring greens and browns, though the colors tend to trend with the seasons. Her dress is always comfortable, though some of her clothing has a well worn, almost lived in appearance. Regardless of what she's wearing, she almost always has a little brown leather pouch on her person. Willow's "tree armor," though frequently varying in appearance due in part to the capricious whim of its owner, significantly bulks out the tall, slender woman, easily adding two feet or more to her height. Regardless of how she feels the armor should look at the moment, or how complete the coverage should be, it is extremely rare for Willow to submerge her head into its tangled roots as it limits her view of the situation, and is unnecessarily restrictive on her hair. History: Eons ago, the Preservers embarked upon a bioengineering project on Earth, one of many they seeded across the cosmos. In this case, they began with a human template but wandered far afield, adding new powers and abilities that would permit these creatures to be guardians of the biosphere and protect the growth of the nearly-untouched planet. One of these creatures came to be known as Willow. Willow and her siblings watched the rise of the human nation of Atlantis with interest, maintaining distant contact and intervening in their development only when absolutely necessary for at the guardians were more concerned with checking the destructive power of Lemuria. When Lemuria and Atlantis started to wage war the attitude of the Guardians shifted; containing and repairing the damage of the conflict was proving too costly. Willow and her fellow Guardians concluded that drastic measures had to be taken for the good of the planet and fell upon Atlantis and Lemuria. In the end both nations were shattered, their people scattered to the four winds and with a deep scarring of their racial memory. As humanity slowly climbed back up from barbarism, Willow and her fellow guardians forgot about their creators and started to think of themselves as Gods of Nature. Inevitably this brought the bioengineered guardians into conflict with the new (and actual) Gods of Humanity and they were soon subjugated and subordinate. It was at this time that the guardians were given a name that stuck; nymph (and the various subclasses). Reduced in influence, Willow, like many of her fellow guardians gradually withdrew from the Preservers mandate, only stepping in when directly asked or when the need was great. As the Gods withdrew and humanity forgot about her kind Willow found herself entering periods of hibernation; sleeping away years, then decades and finally centuries. Each time she was awoken her power had diminished and her memories were more fragmented. The last time Willow woke, the world was recovering from the Terminus invasion. The dryad worked herself to exhaustion, doing what she could to clean up the residual Terminus energy affecting the natural world though she slipped back into hibernation before she could finish. Recent disturbances in Wharton State Forest have woke her up before she had completely recovered from the energy expenditure. Personality & Motivation: Willow is a complicated woman, with certain aspects of her personality becoming enhanced or subdued with the changing of seasons though the core of her being remains the same. In her youth Willow was ready to answer any slight to nature with the full might of her righteous anger, though as time marched steadily onward she adopted a softer approach. She does not despise the rapid advancement of the humans, for it is instinctual on their part, and instead she merely seeks to moderate their impact on the world around them. Willow is a believer in balance, and as such has extended her stewardship beyond the forests. In spring, Willow is almost perpetually happy, laughing and whimsical, even a bit seductive. She possesses a near rapturous joy of life, and seeks to encourage that feeling in others. During this season, Willow's optimism is enhanced, almost to the point of naiveté, believing there is good in everyone. During the summer, Willow's whimsical nature, along with her optimism is subdued somewhat. During these months her protective instincts are heightened, planning with contingencies in mind to ensure the safety of others. For Willow, the summer is a time of long term planning and intense focus. On the heels of summer, Willow's autumn aspect leaves her quiet and introspective. She thinks deep thoughts and takes great pleasure in long puzzles that could take a long time to work out. She rarely acts hastily and be easily overlooked at any party or gathering due to her standoffish nature. Winter is the time of culling, of winnowing, of separating the young from the old. At this time Willow is at her most secretive, since she tends to evoke a faint sense of dread. Serious and firm, Willow does not do well with long debate and discussion during this time, for as far as she is concerned things are black or white. Despite her generally bright outlook, there is a faint sense of sadness about the dryad. She misses her sisters, and while she believes they are still alive, she does not know where they might be. Willow also finds herself in a strange place, and though she would dearly love to return home her sense of duty compels her to stay in the new world. Powers & Tactics: Willow's powers have declined over the millennia however she still retains some measurable influence over plant life, passing unhindered through even the densest foliage without a trace, rapidly changing her location by traveling through the root network and even communicating with the flora around her. The dryad can even alter the fundamental nature of the plants around her, often using this to grow a suit of living armor. Encased in the suit, Willow's tactics are fairly straightforward; the suit significantly boosts her strength and reach, allowing her to pound her opponent into submission. Complications: Limited Knowledge: Willow's Knowledge (Life Sciences) only applies to Botany related checks. Nonentity: Willow has no birth certificate, no social security number, no drivers license or any other form of identification that proves that she does, in fact, exist. As far as the System is concerned, she doesn't. Public Identity: Willow is Willow. She has no civilian identity she can return to at the end of a day of heroing. Struggling: If Willow had to eat or drink she would be a lot worse off. As it is she is only Struggling. Abilities: 2 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 6 + 4 = 20PP Strength: 24/12 (+7/+1) Dexterity: 14 (+2) Constitution: 12 (+1) Intelligence: 12 (+1) Wisdom: 16 (+3) Charisma: 14 (+2) Combat: 6 + 8 = 14PP Initiative: +2 Attack: +3 Ranged, +7 Melee Grapple: +17/+8, +19 with Additional Limbs Defense: +4, +2 Flat-Footed Knockback: -5/-0, -12 with Bracing Saving Throws: 5 + 2 + 2 = 9PP Toughness: +10/+1 (+1 Con, +9 Armor) Fortitude: +6 (+1 Con, +5) Reflex: +4 (+2 Dex, +2) Will: +5 (+3 Wis, +2) Skills: 28R = 7PP Climb 4 (+11/+5) Escape Artist 4 (+12/+6) Intimidate 8 (+10) Knowledge (Life Sciences) 8 (+9) Survival 4 (+7) Feats: 9PP Attack Focus (Melee) 4 Improved Grab Improved Pin Startle Stunning Attack Takedown Attack Powers: 4 + 29 + 1 + 6 + 2 + 4 + 5 = 51PP Comprehend 2 (Plants 2 [speak To, Understand]) [4PP] Device 7 (35PP Container [Passive, Permanent], Flaws: Hard-To-Lose, Feats: Restricted [Plant Controllers, those immune to Suffocation in CO2]) [29PP] Usually grown from a seed that Willow keeps in a small brown leather pouch, Willow stimulates the growth and alters the nature of any plant within the vicinity to create her suit of "plant armor". 16. --So tell me about yourself James,-- Eve said after a period of silence as the pair threaded their way through the crowd of beachgoers. --From my perspective it seemed that whole reality warping situation was old-hat to you. Do things always get so marvelously screwed up around you?-- That last sentence was delivered without bite. In fact, there was a note of amusement in Eve's thoughts and a small smile played off the young woman's lips as she regarded James.

--Euh, it's a sort of after school ritual,-- Eve said as she rose from her chair collecting her things. --Granted that started when "school" was spent in the gym most of the day.-- She offered Jill a smile as she slung her satchel over her shoulder. --It's just going to be a quick refresher and change and you're more than welcome to wait my room. I don't have a roommate so it's not like you'd be bothering anyone.--

  19. --Eve, -- a voice whispered into the teen telepath's head also she drove back to the Claremont campus, on her way back from lunch. --Our deep range ScanSats detected a cluster of inbound objects. Lifeforms were verified but there was no response to ID challenge, either their comms are down or they're hostile. I'm stuck in a meeting so I need you to check it out. Tracking has them touching down near Centery Bridge.-- --Not a problem.-- Eve responded while sending a separate thought to Duncan Summers, letting the Dean know she was leaving class early. --Be safe little sister.-- That was ten minutes ago. Sage reached the bridge just in time to witness the aliens' arrival. Pulling her vehicle off to the side of the road the telepath quickly slipped into hiding just as a large alien threw two civilians. Her stomach knotted and Sage felt nauseas as she realized there was nothing she could do to arrest their fall. "Definitely hostile," she thought, anger flaring as she quickly and quietly made her way toward the invaders. She almost missed the arrival of the Cowboy, her mental senses alerting her to his presence just as he scooped the falling woman out of the air.

--Of course I feel like it!-- A curious expression passed over the younger teen's face. She thought for a moment about contacting her brother, chances were that the family had a private VIP box (such things are almost required in the high end corporate culture), but promptly squashed the notion. As much as she liked Jill (and she was rather cute!), she only just met the girl, and Eve figured it'd be safer to play a few things close to the chest. Not that I couldn't just poke around in her hea --No! Ethical reasons aside that's just plain rude, not to mention she'd also probably hate me. --How much time do we have? I'll need to shower and change before we go out an--oh, damn. That's right you don't live on campus..-- Eve trailed off, thoughts and focus turned inward as she pondered the logistics of what needed to be done.
