  1. Hale feels his heart fluttering beneath the black steel of his breastplate as he follows the beautiful woman through the archives but manages to keep his composure as she speaks with her wonderful accent, verily if it were a cartoon he'd be bubbling hearts out of his helmet like a teapot puffs steam, but theres time to be chasing his heart later, right now a very old and very dead man needed his help so he steels his spine and tightens his grip on his sheathed sword's handle. "Ah, Wonderful." he says as he takes the news paper clippings and looking them over before handing them to tanya, somewhat oblivious to her envy before turning back; "I feel i should warn you though fair maiden, there may be a horde of undead vikings soon to befall this city, I wouldst prefer to stay at your side during this harrowing i suspect but i fear i am needed to stem the tide at its source." he says getting down on one knee and with one hand on Aldonites Crossguard takes her hand once more in his gauntleted hand "wouldst thou grant me a token of thy favor to carry me through the battle milady and promise me you will secure yourself against any dangers that might elude my sword?" he asks earnestly. "i wouldst also ask thy name but i fear I have not given thee mine own yet...mayhap we could exchange them over that coffee?"
  2. Ulysses grits his teeth and with a mighty roar thunders forth to meet the encroaching colossus of steel and steam, straining against its might with every ounce of his own not inconsiderable strength he manages to not only hold his crumbling ground but with a mighty twist hurl the machine from the mountain side sending it tumbling to the ground below him, still slightly angry with himself for letting that monster in his mind complain about him taking too long to deal with the problems before him he presses his advantage, fearlessly flinging himself from the mountain and hurtling down towards his prone opponent like a meteorite trailing steam and debris. he hits the automaton like a bomb, landing squarely on the bulk of its midsection with an almighty KRAAAANG! cratering the ground bellow its bulk and sending a surge of dust and debris racing out from beneath it across the landscape, able to get a good luck at his satisfying elbow shaped impact before he rebounds from the recoil and lands with a thoom upon his two feet not far away.

  6. 1d20+12 (str) +4 (immovable) +6 (super strength)= 27 do i get to try and trip it now? i would like to send it tumbling down the mountain side.
  7. Slightly intimidated by the quiet and imposing buildings interior, lined wall o wall with tomes many of which are not even in a tongue he can understand he approaches the rather friendly lady at the desk, catching a glimps of himself in the polished floor of the building, he looks tall and proud, he wants to be more like the man in the mirror and so marshals every drop of courage and witt he has available as he meets the beautiful, icy blue eyes of the librarian, usually less such contact would have sent him cowering into his shell but at the moment he feels emboldened by his relatively successful endeavor so far he doesn't falter where he might've once. "Greetings fair maiden." he speaks with his deep, now unwavering voice as he reaches out to take her hand, lifting his visor just enough to press his cold pale lips to the back of her equally pale but much softer and warmer hand before returning his gaze to her face, framed by her auburn hair."I wouldst seek thy aid, I have journeyed here to the Greenland on a quest to thwart the machinations of a long slumbering evil, Feigr Iss, at the behest of Erik thorvaldsson's ghost." he says, not so much as blinking as he speaks these absurdities "I Find myself adrift however with nary a clue where to look, pray tell me what thee can of Erik the reds fateful landing on these shores and his battles with the natives?" he asks not quite pleading but impressing the importance of the tasks. "So i may fell the villain and return here...maybe for a coffee afterwards?" he adds blushing slightly.
  8. I will try to diplomancy the librarian Platonicly 1d20+6=7. whoops! Gonna reroll i think, mostly because i don't wanna drag it out or write him as too much of a goof in one thread. 1d20+6=25 Much better.
  9. "Hmm Alright then...ill get ready to try and impede it if that doesn't work out." as he turns to regard the rugged terrain of the mountain "Not a lot of room up here though...try and take care of its legs if nothing else..be a shame to have to run back down this mountain after it...or worse yet, have to climb back up if it knocks one of us off." he adds solemnly as he braces himself, planting his feet heavily into the stone bellow and preparing himself to receive the charge as it were. "Hope for the best, Prepare for the worst." he explains "Not that i don't have faith in you." he says mostly to synapse.
  10. Moon-Moth heeds his friends advice and halves his pace, finishing this next drink in two swigs instead of just one, bereft of the benefit being used to needing to stop to breathe he was rather impressive when it came to imbibing alcohol at a fast pace, his tolerance for it however was remarkably less noteworthy and he finds his legs falling out from under him and finds himself looking up at the lightning fixtures from the floor "So Beautifuls..." he mumbles to himself as he tries to get back onto his feet uneasily, succeeding after one or two uneventful attempts he puts himself back on a chair and continues to regard the light, somewhat mesmerized by it idly reaching out with one of his hands and flexing his fingers towards it in a daze, almost like he was wondering why he couldn't reach it up there on the ceiling.
  11. Hale Did what came naturaly when language barriers arose, attempted to communicate through gestures, trying his hand at the old standby for hitchhiking and sticking his thumb out like he'd seen in many movies and hoping the bloke in the cab caught his drift...or had seen similar movies. Proceeding then to lay his hand onto his chest he says "Black knight." before gesturing to Phantasmo and still a little bit sore about being called tin can man decides to make a little mischief "Phantasma the fairy queen." he says with a surprisingly straight face and an firm pat on the back. <hehehe> Proceeding to give his slight bow to Tanya once again "Lady Tanya." in part because it felt like the right thing to do, Aldonite would scold him if he didn't treat the lady present with respect and slightly to try and convince her to help hold up his little prank.
  12. "I woulds like to examine the holes first, any delays or interruptions could proves costly if not deadly." moon moth pipes up, not one to leave these kinds of thing to change "Could be some form of swarmer colony we set offs like angry space stingers with our EM pulse-thingies." he adds as he move towards the airlock "won't take a moments." he chirps as he lets himself out and floats down to the nearest hole. No one could accuse moon-moth of being cowardly nor praise his caution, this proved especially true as he slowly floated down towards the edge of one of the openings and poked his head down it for a closer look.
  13. I wouldn't worry about it shoe, dumb luck is on my side at the moment, but it's just waiting to pull the rug out from me when its really important.
  14. Survival check! 1d20+2=20 Black knight is on a roll.
  15. Black Knight lies on his back, in his imprint in the snow and regards the night sky for a moment before holding up hand, fore finger extended "In my defense I wasn't expecting that to work." he says maybe not as upset about it as he should be. proceeding to sit up and look around "But hey, we're here!; Huzzah, Progress!" as he clambers back onto his feet and looks around for when he dropped aldonite spotting it not far away from where he landed and taking its hilt once more within his firmest grasp and attempting to orientate himself somewhat.
  16. Ill Power stunt a teleportal on aldonite's array. Teleport 10:("Henge Gate"; Magic; 200,000 Miles; Extras: Portal, Accurate; Flaws: Long range, Medium (Standing stones)) {30/30}
  17. "black knight i guess..." he starts before he is given a swift reprimanding by Aldonite "I mean, I am the black knight, the kingsbane!" wiggling his fingers for added emphasis, "dude he's just a viking not a wizard...though maybe he summoned you here and that part of the job is for you to figure out...and i do the stabbing?" he ponders looking at aldonite "I mean, my portals only go about 20 miles at most. so thats a bit beyond my pay-grade....though maybe I can push Aldonite a bit?" he asks nobody in particular but hoping the sword would respond in some way "you seem pretty Ok at teleporting though, where were you before you fell out of Stonehenge?" he asks earnestly."see if i can get it work in tandem with Stonehenge's gumbo jumbo." he says flicking the sword expectantly at a nearby archway "open says me!"
  18. "hmm...thats quite impressive." Ulysses states matter of factly as he dismounts from his donkey, giving it an affectionate pat on the head as memories of weekends train rides to and from the sea side swim hazily into the his mind and back out again. "why four eyes and legs? not that it really matters but I'm curious." he asks before returning his attention to the automaton on the mountainside. "I could run up there and try to yank it down..." he muses to himself. as he turns the problem over in his head "If the plan is even to destroy it." he adds.
  19. Ulysses eyes fluttered open, hand moving instinctively to nurse his aching noggin as he groggily sat up "ooff...thats a heck of a brain punch you've got there Synapse." he says massaging at his temples "Like a hangover without getting tanked." he comments, in slight amusement as he gets uneasily back on his feet; Catching a glimpse on annie slightly bruised and bedraggled sends a small pang of guilt through him which is then highly excaberated by the agonized groans of the goons behind her. "...For what its worth im really sorry that happened." he says matter of factly, not quite willing to admit to himself he actually did such terrible things just yet. "That bugger snuck up on me when we were in the tunnel and before i knew it i was in a brain-nelson getting reprimanded for taking "the long way around." and hurling boulders." he says trying to explain and perhaps justify his indefensible behavior. "its nice to see everything worked out OK in the end though" he says with the shape of a grin on his lips.
  20. Yeah, ill get one more IC post in if you don't mind then, we can skip if you like.
  21. "Wormholes....bleh...why not moth-holes, I am much cuter than a worm am i not?" moon-moth jokes softly trying to dispel his own unease at the situation, he didn't get technology that well; possibly a result of his monastic and mystic upbringing, though it had enraptured his entire family very quickly when they were first exposed to it. "and chemical rocket residue? someone have a antique vehicle expose here?" he asks somewhat perplexed by the readings as he looked them over "...Don't likes that its in holes eithers...suggests it might be some sort of strange life form." he ponders softly as he gets out of his chair and prepares to disembark. <Really hopings it not worms that guard the wormhole generator; lelaks species doesn't seem to have a sense of humor likes that.>
  22. "I heard he was spooking some of the locals..." he says putting his sword down, slightly embarrassed about over reacting now "Came to see what he wanted...thats how ghosts work right? unfinished business and all that?; Anyway...turns out he's getting bad vibes from home and he wants someone to go stab a witchman for him so he doesn't make a army of undead outta his boys and make them kill their descendants." he states matter of factually as he can give then circumstance. "Yeah? thanks i worked hard cleaning it and Polishing it for tonight!" he says rather taken by the complement on his Armour "Had a bit of trouble with my first few heroing attempts but im sure it'll work out this time..." "and i could totally smite you, if you were evil!" he says defensively "You would be utterly smitten!" he says stamping his foot for emphasis. before aldonite floods his mind with images of long conical hats and veils demandingly "pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lady Tanya." he says giving a slight bow.
  23. "I'M BEING CALM NOW!" Black knight bellows bewilderedly in response sword gripped tightly in his hands as he tries to process all this information and surprise before reclaiming his wits "i mean...Yes! that was Erik the Red, who're you two?" he says as his illusion of competence crashes down around him like oh so much bone china. "He gave me a quest to go stab someone in Greenland, a undead witchman, Feigr Iss" he then looks at the zombie and raises his sword a little bit "Thats not you is it?" <Bother! you and your big mouth Hale, you might have just tipped of some of his undead agents or something!> "f-For if you are I must smite thee!" he adds trying to build up some facade of seriousness again "....Sorry!"
