  1. the Thing Reflex Saves 1d20+10=14 Full Effect, 1d20+10=28 but manages to evade the Effect itself. Spaceman manages to pull his hand free before the Thing can suck him in. Round 3 17 Spaceman 3HP Uninjured 12 The Thing ------ Uninjured 5 Jovian 3HP Bruised X 1 Spaceman is up.
  2. So are you burning an HP to remove the dazed condition? @Exaccus
  3. The waving pseudopod jolted away from the searing beam disappearing into the pool once more almost as if frightened on some animal level. A caution it had not shown to the volleys of gunfire clearly. Spaceman was able to free himself from the Things grasp, the limb wrestling him slowing and giving him the upper hand as it was distracted retreating from the energy blast Jovian had unleashed. Spacemans fist struck true his mighty fist driving deep into the writhing mass where the face had been moments before the surface giving way with too much ease he nearly went right through. But there was nothing solid within to grasp just the cold gelatinous interior of whatever this Thing was. Almost as soon as his fist sunk into the mass the consistency began to harden around his arm the surface crawling up his arm trying to engulf him further than his own strike already had. While spaceman struggled to free his arm from the tar like grasp of the Thing the other pseudopod emerged once more and seized upon a large block of fallen concrete and rebar hafting the massive chunk of debris like a feather before hurtling it directly at Jovian with deadly aim. The rubble smashed into the alien paragons body, it's full weight behind the spikes of sheared metal driving like spears into Jovians chest.
  4. That beats it's grapple I assume from your description you just want to escape the grapple with that success and will do so. Your attack hits. The tentacle is undamaged and I need a reflex save DC 10 vs snare from spaceman @RocketLord The Thing! Move Action: Pick up a big chunk of rubble Standard Action: Hurl the rubble at Jovian 1d20+10=30 Crit! DC 25 + 5(crit) for a total for a DC 30 Toughness save needed from @Exaccus
  5. Round 2 17 Spaceman 3HP Uninjured, Potentially grappled 12 The Thing ------ Uninjured 5 Jovian 4HP Uninjured @RocketLord Need Spacemans Grapple check v. DC 26 and then he's up.
  6. @Tiffany Korta Ms. Bright it up when you have time.
  7. "I don't know man!" One of the cowering scavengers yelped as Spaceman appeared. "Dino found some flask an' thought it was hooch or something." he was tearful and panic'd clutching his gun in a white knuckle grip. "He took a swig and started choking then said something about an upgrade and went nuts." he cowered under the shelter of a collapsed pillar, "He was talkin all weird and grabbed Ice an broke his arm, then ran off when Ice shot him." he shivered as Spaceman focused his power on the creature but it seemed to flow right around the hardened block of spacetime unimpeded. "Then that tentacle came outta nowhere an started melting the supports and grabbed Ice an...." he broke off in in comprehensible sobbing at the sight and sound of his cohort being dissolved or devoured by whatever this thing was. Across the room another pseudopod erupted from the pool and flew forward to wrap around Spaceman and try to pull him in to no avail. Despite the Things steely grip it was unable to budge the dimensional Paragon however and merely tried to focus it's efforts on confining his limbs until it could bring more limbs to bear.
  8. that will hit but its squirrely: 1d20+10=26 A second Pseudopod will erupt from the pool and smash out at Spaceman 1d20+10=26 (Yes very random there orokos) It will initiate a grapple with that attack 1d20+25=26 That seems unlikely to be effective. *edit* Spaceman DC 15 notice check as it grabs at you to notice a screaming humanoid face pushing against the surface as if trapped inside the arm. @Exaccus jovian is up.
  9. Happy to give his voice a rest while Muirne chatted with one of the more reliable students at the school Kam too the opportunity to observe the girl's reactions a bit more closely. She'd not reacted to Janus beyond the reaction everyone had to Janus, but here she clearly had no idea who the Dangers were. Which was possible certainly but unusual at the least. Between that and her earlier slip ups it became rather clear she was not from around here, or perhaps from around now, when she spoke of being from Kent and yet learning English from the Lady Farrington and her husband ensured she was not from this worlds modern Kent. Perhaps one of those displaced realms where history led to the isles not speaking English, though more likely time displacement. He was sufficiently distracted by his theorizing to have remained silent a potentially awkward length of time. Though he'd not been addressed directly at least. "Well traveled hardly covers it." Kam agreed readily, "She's an expert on more regions and cultures than most adults have visited." he praised with an easy grin. And thus quite the resource for anyone not familiar with modern Prime.
  10. Watching the back and forth over the 'ironic' nature of Eira and Pans date like the worlds least fun tennis match Kam carefully schooled his features. Tracking Danica's entrance and near collision with the ironically fuming Eira he frowned at the androids behavior and glanced to Robin with a wan smile, "Don't worry it's an entirely ironic fit of jealousy not the real thing." he murmured and stepped away to offer a quick explanation to Danica, "Her ironic date with Pan may ironically be rooted in genuine attraction." he offered with a shrug. Keeping an eye on Eira lest her temper flare on someone less unflappable than the tortoise totem he caught the motion of her doing something behind her back moments before the spider emerged from the punch bowl and rolled his eyes. Harmless at least for the moment he didn't imagine ad hoc hacking of the simulation running was going to do anything good long term. "And now she's mucking with the simualtor." he shrugged and turned to head back toward the tabel where his date awaited to give warning but measured his pace that Danica could keep up if she followed him rather than the angry android. "Eiras messing with the simulation so we know who to blame if the toon gang shows up." he warned Robin with a tight smile, "See I told you, it'll be just like old times." he joked as lightly as he could manage knowing full well she was not the schools biggest fan.
  11. Round 1 17 Spaceman 3HP Uninjured 12 The Thing ------ Uninjured 5 Jovian 4HP Uninjured @RocketLord Spaceman is up.
  12. right I think Eira, Callie, and Pan make the most sense as team up. I've gotta get one of my other threads wrapped before I kick this off but it's next on the docket.
  13. Initiative! the thing goes on 1d20+3=12
  14. The heroes rounded the final corner to the larger open area Spaceman had sensed ahead. The large room was strewn with rubble some looking as if it had burned or melted as well as large blocks of collapse from the initial implosion of the structure. The scavengers were here, though fewer in number than the guard had indicated. They had cast flares and industrial glow sticks around the nest of rubble they sheltered in casting long shadows against eerie flickering light that didn't penetrate to the far side of the room. Before Jovian or spaceman could fully take in the situation another burst of gunfire sprayed out of the impromptu foxhole wildly ricocheting off the walls and rubble across the room. The noise and flash of the muzzle dazzling in the dim echoing surroundings. As the guns fell silent a grey-black pseudopod snaked out of the darkness and snatched one of the vultures from it's nest and dragging it back beyond the light. The mans screams devolved into a wet gurgle and his remaining compatriots fired another burst of automatic weapons fire. To the Jovian and Spacemans enhanced sense the darkness was no hindrance, but there noise and light was certainly a distraction. On the far side of the room there was some sort of pool of liquid, emerging from it's surface the waving tentacle that had drug the scavenger away weaving unphased by the bullets striking it as it prepared to launch another attack!
  15. I think the dimensional aspect might make it trickier. Since z-space like the void and astral plane is a transitive dimension so it doesn't really have corresponding locations in prime to base TP range off of. This is both a benefit and a difficulty for the purpose of the HQ teleportal effect. Looking at what's here I think the best bet is to have the beacons be some kind of device though that may get into devices at less than 5PP. The device just has dimensional movement (to z-space) either limited or just handwaved to be only able to transit to the HQ. The IG effect is the person with the device can trigger it to move to the HQ as a move action. Device X(telebeacon; Flaws: hard to lose;) [XPP] Super Movement 1(Dimensional Movement(To Z-space HQ);) [2DP] Though container which device is built on is a 5PP for 5PP of container so we run into the weird 5PP minimum on a device. There is an argument to be made that a single power can be bought with the hard to lose flaw which woudl be a 1PP cost for the beacon as a hard to lose standalone power since we don't need it bundled with other effects. Getting out of z-space requires the HQ dimensional TP system which would be teleport, long range only effects others, others only, accurate, easy?, with the dimensional feat. Where the HQ is in relation to anywhere on prime for the Teleport range is a sticky question but given justice is in EC probably just treat the origin as EC. That basically comes down to a feature for members to get to the HQ (Which is a fair price IMHO) then all you have to define on the HQ is the power to get where you want people to be able to get to.
  16. Kams frown only deepened at Elizabeth's commentary on the nature of the duplicate letting out a tight sigh that he had missed whatever cue's she'd picked up on. "Hmm that does open possibilities to those with program rights on the Doom Room or perhaps those able to bypass the security." he Murmured almost under his breath as he adjusted his calculations on potential perpetrators once more. He snapped out of it at robins nudge and breathed out heavily as he let it go, "Yes tonight is not about that at the least." he agreed in practice if not principle. As Eira and Pan joined them he returned the greeting after Robin introduced herself, "Eira, Pan you put on quite the show." he complimented openly. Kan tilted his head slightly at Eiras statement that she clearly felt was some sort of jest. He chalked up the odd inflection to cultural differences for the moment and nodded, "Well you certainly did seem to be enjoying your date." he agreed with a shrug and gave robins arm a fond squeeze, "We did a tour of the floor once and will likely return after refreshment." Kam explained with a smile lifting his cup and finishing hte last of the watery punch.
  17. Kam offered Dee a polite nod as she took her leave and continued the tour certain she'd manage to catch up when she needed to. "Well the normal Gym should be more than sufficient for your needs than." Kam agreed readily and continued on to show the weight room and some of the indoor courts for various games Muirne was likely unfamiliar with. When they entered the vaulted room with the rock wall and gymnastics equipment he paused to watch Veronica's delicat aerial ballet waiting for her to complete her dismount and call out to them before he dared interrupt her concentration. "Veronica!" He greeted warmly and gestured to his ward of the moment, "Muirne here will be starting n the fall, just helping her get the lay of the land as it were." he explained and nodded to the high flying student. "Muirne, let me introduce Veronica Danger." he offered watching the younger students reaction with some care. Alot could be gleaned from a persons reaction to meeting a member of that famed family and he'd not paid sufficient attention when Janus had introduced himself.
  18. And yea a 7 misses. go ahead and post your IC and it'll be Ms. Brights action.
  19. The 88's let out a chorus of curses as their guns were torn from their grip by the magnetic prowess of Gauss' attack. As the weapons flew away they froze for a fraction of a second before diving into the crowd and behind whatever cover they could find. One turned with a snarl back to the Van leaning in through the door out of sight of heroes before rolling from the back to take a knee and balance the single shot anti-tank rocket on his shoulder, "I'll show you collateral damage!" he bellowed madly and with a scorching fwoosh the rocket streaked toward Gauss! The white trial of spent propellant was visible for a mere moment before the flash of the explosion lit up the evening sky overhead the shockwave of the fiery blast shattering windows up and down the street and obscuring visibility on the rooftop for several long seconds. When the smoke cleared Shooting Star hovered unharmed where she'd intercepted the rocket at the last moment leaving Gauss in the clear if perhaps a bit shocked at hte turn of events.
  20. Probably a good call! 88's action 4 will bolt for cover behind fences or whatever they can get behind. 1 will spend a move action pulling an Item out of the van and his standard to fire at Gauss, which Shooting Star will intercept. Attack roll 1d20+2=22 would be a crit but he's a minion so just normal damage. DC 25 Toughness save from Shooting Star.
  21. They can not beat that check and are disarmed Sorry @Azuth65 I thought I'd put this in on friday. Feel free to post the 88's getting disarmed.
  22. Kam frowned deeply at Leroys sudden over the top arrival and apparent costume change. His suspicions were confirmed as the boy arrived to greet Robin and himself as if he'd not seen them moments earlier. "Good to see you enjoying yourself Leroy." he replied as he let his eyes wander the room for signs of what the imposter might have been about. He patted Robins hand and glanced to Elizabeth with a flicker of suspicion before discarding her as a likely suspect. Capeable certainly but undermining Judy and Leroy's relationship was not her kind of trick. There were any number of students capable of spinning such an illusion or disguise convincingly. His gaze fell on Pan and Eira making a spectacle of themselves, Pan was more than capable, the color false Leroy wore had fit his style as well, Eira perhaps would encourage such petty incidental cruelty as a joke though he thought Pan had more sense. "I suspect some impractical jest behind the first Leroy." he explained as he continued scanning the room clearly overthinking the entire exchange that seemed to have wrought not but momentary confusion.
  23. Kam tactfully ignored Heroditus' faux pas as he was corrected by Murine and Dee he was thoughtful for a moment processing the clever atlanteans questions and having not the wherewithal of the Lady Farrington to leave questions unanswered. "Well the intricacies of the energetic oxidation at the chemical level or details of stoichiometric pressures may be beyond the scope of your study in this instance?" he suggested carefully focusing thankfully on recommending study methods rather than simply rattling off the specifics. "Instead perhaps take as granted that fuel mixed with air can with a spark be coerced to react explosively." he focused on the fundamentals having always found such a grounding useful himself in his own studies. "Beyond that it is simply belts or gears to see to it that ignition of the fuel happens at the proper time." He shrugged as Heroditus went back to his studies and winced as he realized he'd fallen to lecturing a bit once more. He offered a gentle smile to Muirne, "Apologies miss." he expressed with contrition, "I did not mean to grow sidetracked." He slanted a look at his sister as she suggested discussin the electric vehicles more common in thier own homeland and shook his head. "Point taken Àjàṣorò." he acknowledged ruefully taking her comment as a gentle jibe at his own overly enthusiastic aid, "We'll leave you to your studies Heroditus." With that he led them out of the library and gestured toward the Gym building offset from the quad and main campus buildings. "The gym has equipment to train the body as well and some even up to the task of the enhanced physiques of some students." he explained as they started to make their way in that direction. "If your abilities lie significantly in excess of human norms there are more secure facilities for special study but for the average and even exceptional this is quite well apportioned." he noted as they came to the entrance and slipped in. "Restrooms and lockers for changing if necessary." he pointed out off the lobby and waved to the attendant at the small snack kiosk off the lobby. "Handy if grabbing a workout between classes and you need a post workout pick me up." he indicated with the voice of experience. He was if anything overly diligent in his own physical studies.
  24. "I'm sure he's about then." Kam replied as Judy stepped away. He fixed Elizabeth with a flat stare and let out a small sigh, "So long as it's not the kind of trouble that results in he composing sonnets aloud whilst I' trying to study." he flatly invoked before the conversation blessedly moved on from his roommates romantic entanglements to the much more pleasant topic of how amazing his date looked. He couldn't suppress small smile of pride at the complements Robin earned from the other girls and dropped a hand to the small of her back in a reflexively possessive gesture. "Hardly cheating we all work with what we have." he pointed out as his attention was briefly drawn to the door where some sort of altercation seemed to be dissipating but it took only a fraction of his attention as he was on the whole at his ease safely ensconced in one of hte schools more secure environs. Of course he hadn't his companions memories of the Doom Room to color that opinion.
  25. With the combined might and speed the heroes could bring to bear what would have taken a demolition crew days and heavy equipment was removed in minutes by hand. The stairs were largely intact though badly damaged with railings missing and chipped and broken steps leaving footing uncertain. The lower floor was much more enclosed with a long partially collapsed hallway and rooms off to each side running it's length. Nearly pitch black with nearly no light reaching from the chasm above to these broken and failing levels of the substructure. Distant calls could be heard drifting on the still air but muffled as if from beyond some further barrier. Where the hall ended in collapsed rubble it was clear this is the damage that collapsed the floors above, removing it would not be so simple as the stairwell, here it supported the floors above, remove it and the chasm in the road would open further perhaps endangering nearby property and certainly putting the gawkers above at risk. They'd have to make their way through the rooms and halls to find a way around.
