  1. Barging back into his room with the largest (and cheapest) bowl of instant ramen he had managed to find from the shop downstreet, Luke quickly felt like something was amiss. Now, it could not be thieves, after all there was nothing worth stealing in his place... Graduating high scool and becoming a legal adult certaintly hadn't magically resoulted in his perpetual broke-ness going away, especially given that his criminal past didn't make him a particularly attractive hire. Still, perhaps due to his dragon instinct, he could feel that someone had violated the privacy of his den. Which was rarely a good sign. The message, styled somewhat like a ransom note didn't exactly manage to ease his tension either. Someone had Muirne? What? Coordinates? Sounds like a freakin' trap... Maybe Blowfish wanted the millions in gold bars that the young dragon had liberated back and thought about blackmailing him? Unlikely, though, somehow he doubted that the Southside gangster would be able to get to his girl... superhero and all... He dropped his bowl on the small kitchen table and then sat on his bed, studying the note intently. Nothing... He searched the pockets of his sweatpants for his (miraculously still working given the age and suspiciously crappybrand) smart-phone. Great, the cohordinates pointed at an abandoned warehouse. Another good sign. Wait. New messages. Groupchat. Mmm... What what? Chaz? ... Nop Nothing ... Wait... Did you? ... The F- message. ... You got one too? ... He... I... My chewing is gonna be f- litteral (roaring dragon emote) ... He almost got me an heart attack ... See you there! "Well buddy I guess you are gonna have to finish this..." He sighed as he left the bowl on the floor, so that Chewy could reach into it, and rubbed the abomination cub on the head as the creature clakced joyfully and threw soon started slurping what was supposed to be Luke's meal. "Good boy..." He muttered absent mindedly as darted outside, his eyes focused on the cohordinates on the screen.
  2. "What the f-" Luke ruffled the hair on the back of his neck. Plus, the scent of death, ancient one perhaps, certainly was not as enticing as the one of ancient gold. The young man winced, now what was the nickname of the mobster who seemingly owned the ship? Ah yes... Nothing good can come out of this. "The cargo is freakin mummies or something?" He wondered as he looked at the statues, raising his fists just in case. Even before becoming a superhero, the boy had seen enough movies not to expect one of those things to step out of the box and go for his brain. "That's sick... Like... they poured molten gold on them or somethin'" Hopefully those guys were already dead. Yep. Definitely.
  3. 1... Intelligence seemingly is not Luke's forte
  4. "Gold." Luke smiled. He was growing accustomed to the scent after all, especially after rescuing a real treasure from Blowfish casino. "Old gold." He sniffed the air again. "A freakin' treasure." He grinned, although magic being there also meant that likely there was some kind of catch, a curse perhaps. "And it's close... I just... Well I need to find the right crate..." He began scanning the air for traces of the scent. "If only it wasn't so dusty..." He lamented as he continued his search. "Perhaps... We should still see what's in one of the crates at random..." He suggested.
  5. Well probably it would still be faster than opening crates at random. So he's gonna give that a try.
  6. "Woah. Woah. Woah!" Suddenly he had found himself alone, his friends disappearing into a portal. Great. "Hey... Stop... Those are not for eating." He winced as the creature fangs cut into his flesh, sharp enough even to penetrate his bullet-proof hide. He roared angrily and gritted his teeth. If he wasn't disgusted at the mere idea, he would have been tempted to repay her with the same coin with his own fangs. He didn't need to. As quickly as they have vanished both Aquaria and Diamondlight were back. Which, while he would have not admitted it in public, was a relief. "Great job..." He smiled as the creature seemed to have lost the will to fight under the deep one assault. "I though... Where did you go?" Whatever. "What the hell is this thing?" Definitely not human, not entirely at least.
  7. 19 Missed by 1, while it's not much Nightscale kinda uses strength for pretty much all of his attacks so I think I'm gonna have to hero point it anyway. 1... That however is 11 with an HP + 9 is 20. So yeah...
  8. Nightscale is gonna try this: Super-Senses 5 (Valuable Object Awareness; Descriptor Frequency: Very Common; Sense Type: Olfactory, Default: Radius, Ranged; Extras: Acute, Tracking) {5/24PP} And if needed he has Notice at 20 with skill Mastery.
  9. "Nice to meet you." Luke shook Chimera's hand. "Again." He grinned. "Yeah... And my bet is, whatever is there, police won't be able to help..." Not that, despite the certain improvement after his years in Claremont, he had much trust in the force anyway. "I---" Luke sneezed, there definitely was too much dust around here. "Sorry, I mean... perhaps I do have a way to find what we are looking for..." Whatever that was, in truth, he couldn't be certain, but then again, if the ship was so precious that it needed mercenaries to protect or thugs to blow up, the cargo must have been important. "I have a good nose for treasures and the like..." He chuckled and then inhaled deeply, trying to figure out if indeed there was a treasure hidden in the hull of the Lost and Forgotten.
  10. Nightscale 11 Golden Dead - 7 Let the bodies hit the ground 3 Paper Trail to the City of Sin 1
  11. "Zombies... great..." He has had his fair share of scraps with the walking dead, both regular and of the German (but not Nazi) soldier kind. "Machete Max Hiring me? No... I am definitely not working for the mob." Luke growled, although he had regained his human form, the creatures were certainly still there. "And I have never heard of this Machete Max, at least before tonight. I am just generally opposed to people blowing up ships. You know... It's unpolite." He gave the mobster a disapproving glare. "Although, I won't mind sharing a few words with you, once we are done with... this... I have questions..." The young man tilted his head slightly and ruffled the hair on the back of his neck, as he studied Chimera. "By the way... I think I know you... Yeah... now I remember." He smiled "We fought together once... it was like... small army of monsters in a basement, creepy masked guy?" He wanted to add something like 'how the hell did you end up working with Blowfish' but that could certainly wait. "You can call me L- Nightscale, by the way." He introduced himself "And yeah, sure, by now, I am just curious..." "Don't go anywhere though, ok?" He turned to Blowfish. Yeah like if he was gonna listen...
  12. "I knew it." Nightscale had little time to ravel in the satisfaction of finding the culprit, as soon as his eyes crossed with the strange woman, a shiver ran down his spine. At first, he only thought that he had been unnerved by the situation, they were tracking a killer after all, but in truth, it was his mind coming under assault. He fought the impulse to freeze in fear, clenched his jaw and struggled against the attack. "Not easily scared. My bad." There was a cocky grin on his lips, although, honestly, it was more for show, a display to mask a moment of weakness. "Stay back!" He shouted as he realized that the officers had reached them, now sure he had no love for the police, but that didn't mean that he wanted them in the crossfire against a supernatural entity. His eyes were now glowing as he turned to the woman. "Sorry miss, you are not going anywhere..." He lounged quickly, unnatural energy flowing in his muscles and spectral wings propelling him to close the distance between them. He tackled the woman, trying to trap her under his weight.
  13. "Go ahead, I certainly won't mind..." Nightscale chuckled, in truth he had decided that he somewhat liked the mercenary and as long as he didn't turn on them, he seemed kinda ok. "One spooky guy... and musty crates, not ominous...at all..." Luke nodded as the man explained that he didn't know much about the cargo. Maybe Gas Man was lying, perhaps he wasn't, but there was only a way to find out. "I am gonna have to pay a visit to this Machete Max one of these days..." He mused as he deposited the mercenary on the pier, far enough from the ship that they would be out of range in case of an explosion. "Do you happen to know where I can find him?" Speaking of mobsters he had to talk to, his golden eyes pierced the darkness of the port, seeking for the location where Chimera had flown away to meet Blowfish, unfortunately though she was already on the way back. "Hey..." He waved toward the flying shapeshifter. "Since it didn't go boom... You up for checking what's on board?" Speaking of which, there was no way he could navigate it in his current form. He focused his mind on his human self and quickly his draconic form melted away, like liquid obsidian flowing back into his human skin. "Let me lead the way..." He offered.
  14. Initiative is 14 If Nightscale can act, he will go for this: Dragon Rage - Strength Attack (Extras: Autofire 1 [9 ranks] ) To hit is 20 If he hits, he is gonna use Improved Grab to try and grab with a roll of 32
  15. - 4... for a total of 13, I guess I'm gonna hero point that. 29? or 19? I can't remember on top of my head if you add +10 if you roll less than 10 or 11.
  16. "Gandalf?" Luke tilted his head a little, growling as the man teased him. In truth, despite being a creature of myth himself, he didn't really know much about the whole Lord of the Rings thing. After all, he was too young to appreciate the first series of movies and the second trilogy, well, he had only watched a pirated copy (perhaps Gas Man was at least a tiny bit right about him after all) it half-asleep with Gabriel, his little brother, finding it quite of a slog. "Great... Whatever..." He waited for the man to drop his weapons and then 'gently' tried to catch him with one of his claws. "Don't worry, I am just helping you out of the ship..." He 'reassured' the man. "Maybe we can use the occasion to talk about the cargo though? I mean unless your intention is to keep evading my questions." He let a bit of smoke escape his lips as he carried the man unceremoniously toward Chimera's position. "I mean, it must be worth protecting, if your boss went all the way to hire a renowned mercenary" Yeah ... sure... "Such as yourself."
  17. "Great." Nightscale nodded. At least it didn't look like anyone was seriously hurt. For now. Which was a start. "Oh... He is definitely not gonna stay alone on this ship." The dragon turned to face Gasman. "Now is it enough for me to ask nicely? Or do I have to be a bit more persuasive?" His eyes glowed, a bit more intensely as he faced, the mercenary. He didn't seem a threat, but there was definitely no need to get him out of their sight. For now. "By the way... You must know what's so precious about this ship, don't you? I'd love for you to share it with us on the way and no more semantics about piracy if you can, or gas... definitely none about gas..." He continued in a no-nonsense tone, in truth, this was beginning to sound a bit too weird. He waited for everything to be settled and then unfolded his wings. "I can carry you if you like... but don't even think for a moment that you can ride on my back." He offered the Mercenary a ride... in his claws...
  18. When Gas Man mentioned the idea of Piracy, the young dragon gave him a "don't push your luck" kind of glare. "Machete max?" Luke chuckled as well. "I got a tip too, that Blowfish wanted to blow up the ship..." He would have scratched the hair on the back of his neck, well if he could at least, as a dragon it wasn't as easy as when wearing his human form. "Damn.... This sounds very much like a trap..." He mused. "Can your friend be moved?" Yeah... Beanpole... "It's better if we get off the ship, before it blows up with us on it or somethin'" Now himself, he could probably tank an explosion, albeit perhaps one of limited power, he could not guarantee for everyone else present though. "Fast... Then we can try to figure this out properly..." Maybe we can also find that scumbag. Blowfish... In truth the young dragon was eager to ask him a few questions as well.
  19. Luke winced as he saw the carcass that much likely used to be someone else beloved pet. Poor guy... There was little they could do about that though, except catch the killer of course. This was old though... hours perhaps, weird... He would have expected their quarry to have killed to sate their thirst for blood on the way maybe, but not hours before. There was... Something else. Then it got him. There was something important around here. Perhaps the creature lair or something, besides, all of the clearing seemed... Well... too neatly organized. Like if the trash that littered it had been there on purpose. "Found you..." He muttered. Now hopefully they still had the element of surpr-- -ise... Luke's heart skipped a beat. Well, perhaps they would have to do without it. Although... Maybe the killer will be to focused on Aquaria to care about him. Plus, honestly speaking, they must have been expecting them anyway. Oh well... Luke walked in the clearing, his senses on high alert and walked toward the place where he suspected there was something hidden under the foliage and trash and began inspecting it more thoroughly. "I think they might be hidden down here..." He sent another message to Diamondlight and Aquaria.
  20. Luke had started their competition with a cocky grin on his lips, but it didn't take much for it to drop from the nineteen years old face. Damn! This guy was freaking strong, at first, just enough to match Luke human strength, that in truth, already wasn't exactly an easy feat, thanks to the dragon-boy intense training. That, of course, hadn't been enough to worry him, but even when Luke pushed himself further than what any normal person would, the fellow didn't seem to relent. Quite the opposite indeed. It was Luke's turn to sweat as well as slowly, although not without effort, the biker boss started to push his hand down. Luke couldn't believe it, at least until he could finally feel the surface of the table brushing against his hand. "F*ck... How..." Golden light flashed in Luke's eyes when the man collected his prize The boy closed his fists, but the biker interrupted him. "There would be no need of that." The grin on his lips showed a playful warmth that wasn't there long before. "I call myself satisfied about the outcome of this little challenge..." He continued, his gaze however met with Luke's and Leon in turn, like if to quietly say them that he knew that something was off with them. "Your friend wasn't lying... that was... really cathartic... you should try sometimes boy..." The grizzled biker grinned and then gave Luke a strong pat on the back. "And it was entertaining enough, that I don't feel like kicking your assess out either..." The huge man continued, his gaze shifting back to Leon. "No offense taken, I hope?" "In fact, sharing a pint might be in order..." He called for the waitress, with a friendly, yet booming, voice, quickly sorting an order for his whole crew. "Get one on me too boys..." He offered. "No alcohol though... I got a feeling that you two might not be of age." The man smirked. OOC - I haven't decided much about what else to do with the bikers, although for why this guy is as strong as Luke, I was thinking he could be an actual minotaur in disguise (I have a band of minotaur bikers in one of my games I thought it would be fun having them make a cameo. If you got any idea about where to go next, go ahead
  21. "Fair enough... you behave and I'll ignore that I haven't had dinner yet..." He grinned, using the occasion again to show his fangs. Gas Man? He shook his head. "Ook..." He replied. "Nah... Why I am here, is my own business. But I can say I did not expect mercenaries. But perhaps you can illuminate me about the reason?" "And you?" He turned toward Chimera. "Are you working for Blowfish?"
  22. Notice Luke can Skill mastery the notice check. As for Survival woah a surprising 22
  23. Blood it is then. Luke nodded and preceded the two fellow heroes toward the dirt path, he tried his best to stay quiet, but he could not avoid chuckling faintly at Aquaria's offer of protection. Come on where are you? Admittedly, this would have been an ideal beginning of an horror movie wouldn't it? A fellow running alone through an off-beaten path in park, a murderer on the loose. While himself, he was far from defenseless, the teenage dragon still realized that he was feeling at least a bit on edge as he followed his quarry...
  24. "Not without also tossing you two from the ship..." Nightscale shook his head, perhaps the wind from his wings could disperse the smoke, but somehow he didn't believe that the guy that the young shapeshifter had just rescued would enjoy it. "By the way... you... You feel familiar you know?" Yep, they have met hadn't they? Luke landed on the deck, using his wings to improve his balance and hopefully not shatter the hull of the ship with the far from insignificant weight of a bus-sized lizard. When he heard the click the young dragon positioned himself to cut the path between the Mercenary and the place where Chimera and the wounded mobster were laying in wait. "No definitely I'm not working for him... And what about you? My bet is... People don't hire mercenaries to guard a ship if there isn't something interesting about the cargo..." Yep, it was worth investigating for sure. He wondered if his hacker 'friend' knew about it. We are definitely gonna have a chat after this is over... "Well, you are still in time to not get eaten... For now..." The dragon grinned. "I'm gettin' pretty hungry, though."
