  1. Home for the summer. “Mooommm! Lulu has been in a fight! Again!” Gabriel’s high pitched shouts echoed through the trailer park as the youngest Landers rushed to greet his big brother, a huge grin on his lips. “Hey that’s not-” Luke protested, there went the chance (admittedly quite small, it was not like they lived in a mansion after all) of maybe sneaking in at home and getting changed before his parents could see him. Ruined clothes and plethora of bruises. Nothing too scary, of course, but well... “Aaawww… Shut up you snitch.“ Luke chuckled, giving a friendly nudge on the back of his little brother’s neck, when the boy finally got to him. “I missed you too. You know?” He teased. “Plus he is now hitting me!” The boy added. “Yeah and that’s the least he will do.” Luke grinned. “Hey….” Gabriel protested, when his brother leaned down to grab him from the ground. But the objections quickly turned to laughter, when the epic tickling began. “Stop. Lu… Stop!” "Never!" "Ok...." The laughter went on for a while more. “Fine, but just this once.” Luke laughed. He didn’t let him go though, instead he lifted his brother, letting him ride on his shoulders. “Mooom! Daaaad! Lulu is back.” Gabriel shouted (mostly in Luke’s ears) from his perch as the two brothers walked toward the family trailer. The young man shook his head. If only he could avoid calling me that in front of everyone… Too late anyway, the whole park knew that nickname already. At least it wasn’t the entire Freedom City (Yet). ------------------- “Aaaww…” “Ouch…” “Hey…” “Come on Luke don’t be such a crybaby” Johanna laughed as she medicated one of the many bruises on her son’s shoulders. “Really. Mom. You didn’t need to.” She just ignored him of course. “What was this time?” “One of those demons... “ Johanna gave her son a concerned look. “You should be careful.” “Piece of cake. I can deal with them.” Luke gave his mom a cocky smirk. “Ooouch…” “Sorry.” She grinned. “What were you sayin…?” The young man glared at his mother and shook his head again. She just chuckled. “They get here too?” Now it was his turn to be concerned, he could not always be around after all. Plus well, mom and dad had seen a lot of weird stuff in their lives, but his little brother… He shuddered at the thought. “They tried.” The light in her eyes was enough to suggest to the young man that it was the demons that would need to be scared, not the other way around, if they dared to threaten her family. “Dad is checking the wards right now.” “Mooom…. Lulu are you done?” A shout from behind the door. “Just one minute. Gabbo.” She shook his head, a smile on her lips. “Awww! Come on! You promised we were going to play before dinner.” “I’m going to stay the whole summer, you know?” “Yeah… I know.” The boy replied in such a matter-of fact-ly way that not Luke, nor his mother could do nothing, but burst into laughter.
  2. "That's what a villain would say." He jokingly remarked to Ghost after he pointed out that he was the good guy. "But yeah, I... It was like that freakin' mist sent me trippin' or something." Speaking of which, while it looked like both Leon and himself had managed to shake off the effect of the strange haze the crowd was still in utter chaos. "Gotta to do something." Yep someone can get hurt. In fact, he was sure that someone already had. There is no way he could go around stopping every fight though. Luke ruffled the hair on the back of his neck. What if they stopped breathing the mist though? Can work. Right? His eyes glowed faintly for a moment, as Luke let a bit of his true essence to the surface, ghostly projections of his wings unfurled. It took him a while, to figure out how to strike the right balance, but then he begun flapping his wings to form gusts of wind, that hopefully were strong enough to disperse the gas, but not to send the entire crowd flying. "Yeah, it was the DJ." Luke nodded at Leon. "By the way, what about Holly? Don't tell me this guy is her boyfriend or somethin'" He chuckled.
  3. Ok Luke will try to power stunt something like this to try and disperse the hallucinogenic gas: Nullify 8 (Only one effect with a gas descriptor. Extra: Area Burst[200 ft], Effortless, Flaws: Range[Close], Action[Full], Feats: Progression [Area 4]) 12 PP (I imagine I can get more progression, but I guess that 200 ft range is enough to cover the area?) In practice he is using the wind generated by his wings to disperse the gas on a large area instead of knocking people around.
  4. TOU save for Nighstcale: 2.... for a grand total of 10. I guess I'll Hero Point it: 2 Again. At least it becomes 12+8 = 20 so he is just bruised. EDIT: I misread your post Rocket. It was reflex + stun, not damages. So I guess it would be: Reflexes save for Nighstcale: 2.... for a grand total of 10. I guess I'll Hero Point it: 2 Again for a grand total of 20 still fails. Stun Save: 25 phew... I think that Nightscale is going to try and grapple again as he doesn't want to hurt Matt. Feint as a move action: 16 To hit: 28 (Can I score a crit at a grapple attempt?) Grapple check: 34
  5. Charles? Kinda lame for a supervillain. Luke found himself having to hold back a chuckle. Although he would have to concede that Luke the dragon wasn't exactly threatening either. He mentally shrugged and kept following the Big Guy in the darkness. They were walking straight into the lion's den. It was too late to change course though. "And how did you meet Charles?" He asked. He noticed the tunnel, but shook his head when El signaled to go explore it. He could not leave the group after all without his illusion disappearing. Luke's muscles tensed as he saw that they were approaching a set of doors, time to meet the scary Mr. Charles it seemed.
  6. “Woah. Lost magic trinket to a cardgame?” Luke chuckled. Then lowered his eyes. “I mean that must have been terrible.” He quickly added. Another chuckle followed during the torrent of expletives. Maybe this Betsy Brooks was going to be a fun one. “And it can animate the dead? Zombie? I mean like the walking dead zombie or is he gonna be a smart one?” Looks like he did, right? Especially given the whole ‘came to freedom city to lie low, thing.
  7. Ghost? Spooky. The fact that the guy had just replied politely instead of attacking Luke though, had definitely scored him a few points. Still not enough to fully lower his guard, but maybe there was no need for punching. "Night- I mean Luke." The young man replied to Ghost, stopping at the last second from using his super hero name when in his civilian identity. His gaze shifted toward Holly. Looks like she knew the DJ. Great. He gave both Leon and Casper a puzzled look. "Do you? What the hell is going on here?"
  8. Nightscale will try to grab again. He won't get the -2 defense in exchange for +2 to hit this time as I kinda have the impression that he should try to be as defensive as possible. He will also try to feint as a move action (9... would have been better with skill mastery at 15, but I was hoping for some luck) The grapple attempt isn't doing that much better with a 17 to hit, but maybe?
  9. Yep, again Luke found himself extremely grateful that Watchdog was with him, especially seeing the more experienced hero tanking a hit that would have much likely sent the young man flying. He didn’t have time to voice his appreciation though. With Matt back on the bad guys team. For now. "Do you have anything that can like... scramble coms or something? We need to cut off the ***** who is controlling him." Unfortunately though he had no idea about how this kind of things worked. Chaz would know what to do. Yeah definitely. No time to call for help though, it was just the two of them for the time being. So, instead he just attempted a tackle Matt, trusting that the more experienced agent could have a solution at hand.
  10. A breath of relief escaped Luke’s lips when he saw Jamie darting away. Now, he had no idea about what was going to happen once his deception came to light, but then again at least there won’t be an innocent woman around when the fight will inevitably begin anew. With most of his concentration absorbed in keeping his little magic trick going the young man could only listen partially to the conversation and nod, letting outrider do most of the talking. He swore under his breath though when they got to the abandoned warehouse, or whatever that place was. Smells like a trap. And yet they would need to walk inside if they wanted to know more. Whatever. You only live once after all. His gaze peered into the darkness, trying to see if his dragon eyes could pierce through it and maybe reveal any trap that might be waiting for them as he descended with the others.
  11. How are the people in the crowd? I was wondering, since the hallucinations are caused by a gas, what if Nightscale tries to use his wingbuffet to clear the gas (he would probably have to stunt and hero point it though as otherwise a lot of people might get hurt by the knockback)

  13. Yeah, a nice guy for sure. There was no chance that a fight won't break out once they got to the Master and much likely they would have to deal with the Big Guy too, after all he wasn't as confident that the magic he had managed enchant him with would last for much longer... First thing first though. He needed to get Jamie safe. So he waited for the Brute to be distracted by his companions and weaved a new spell hiding creating a duplicate of the young woman on top of the original and giving her a temporary screen where she could hide from sight and dart away as far as possible from the scene.
  14. Ok, Luke will make an illusion to cover up Jamie escaping and make a copy of her to keep in outrider's hands so hopefully the Brute won't know that she is gone, he will have to keep his concentration up however or else the copy won't move.
  15. "Whoa Whoah Woah..." Luke gasped. That was at the same time awesome and scary. Truth is, the display also made him feel quite happy that Watchdog was on his side and not the other way around. "I'm sorry for this man, but you have been pretty rude so far..." He grinned before socking Archer in the face. "That's gonna teach him manners." He smiled, but the euphoria didn't last for much. Matt was still in troubles. He turned toward his friend. "Don't worry man we are gonna fix this... " "We can bring him at Claremont... They can help him. I'm sure."
  16. Hehe it might be a bit rude, but I think that Nightscale is gonna punch Archer to try and knock him down with a 24 to hit, taking -2 to defense until his next turn. Edit: btw is there a way to contact the school for the students? (I mean apart from 'by phone' I imagine).
  17. Nightscale relaxed a little as he saw that the girl was now safe in Outrider hands. Now they would have to figure out what to do next. They couldn't bring an innocent woman to a fight with whatever monster was behind the abduction. Yet he imagined that the big fellow won't be happy if they just let her go... Awesome. Master fixed him. Yeah somehow I doubt that. "Yeah he must be a great guy." He replied dryly. "Is he far from here?"
  18. I'm not sure, will Luke emotion control fade away if he switches array to make an illusion of Jamie? Emotion control is sustained (lasting) so I imagine it will? I'm still not that certain about these kinds of interactions with arrays. Otherwise he can make a copy of Jamie and let her escape I imagine. He can also try to stunt an alternate power to keep both up, but that will make for a pretty lousy illusion (rank 2 or 3 at most).
  19. Luke was lost, a dreamlike haze enveloping his whole world, phantoms dancing among the maddened crowd, someone had to do something and yet every time he faced one otherworldly presence it just vanished back into the nightmare. What the hell was going on? Wait. The young man shook his head and took a deep breath, rubbing his eyes to try and clear his head. When he could open them again though, somehow the party has gone back to normal, well, as normal as it could be with so many of the clubbers still enthralled by the gas at least... "What the f-" He barely dodged a brawling couple of party goers, still lost in the nightmare. I should stop them... Yeah, but there was no way he could do the same to the whole crowd wouldn't it? Damn! He scanned the scene to try and figure out the source of the disturbance. There was... a ghost or somethin' at the DJ station? That's the new normal apparently. Could be it. Yet... DJ Purple Haze... Yeah... With one fluid jump, Luke reached the station. Landing on his feet close to the DJ. "You! What the Hell is going on here... Stop!" He growled, his golden eyes shining in the dark, fists clenched.
  20. Fort Save: 23 Yey! Luke isn't sure if he should punch the DJ yet. My reasoning though is that at least he will try to intimidate him (With skill mastery 20) as a standard action.
  21. While it was clear that something out of the ordinary was definitely going on, Luke was still too enraptured by the spectacle unfolding in front of his eyes to really focus on what exactly it was that felt so wrong. Plus even in all of that confusion it still seemed like Leon was actually getting some success with Holly. Yeah way to go ‘bro. A woman scream however did manage to bring him away from the party mood. “Monster? Where?” He moved in between her and the man she had been clawing at, unable however to see the actual source of the threat.
  22. 16 definitely not hehe
