  3. It felt like it had been a long time since the two of them had gotten to have a date together or outing, at the least without some form of interruption one way or another. So, to be able to go out with Michael without any sort of interruption spoiling it was a relaxing affair, even if it was to a public venue. A dinner date after school a sandwich place by the library, a simple and easy sort of date that cost nothing other than the price of decent priced hero themed sandwiches, and not a single alien invasion or time anomaly in sight as well. Carmen had ordered something that was called the Johnny Rocket, a sort of tuna sandwich with lettuce and tomato, alongside some sort of pepper relish that was rather to her own liking. The were-cat girl would even manage on this date between the two would not pick off the vegetables that were on it, a habit that she was told by the school counselor and her pediatrician to try and change. A slow and simple thing that she was working to fix over time, told that it would keep herself fit and active in her rather athletic lifestyle. A simple and easy meal in peace that she would have with her boyfriend, all comfortably out of the way of most prying eyes as to give them a bit of privacy under the shadow of the stone sphinx. Idly biting into it as they stood together, Carmen would watch him play with the yo-yo, "Only a little. I can't do any tricks, but I can make it work for a while. Think one kid would always get in trouble back home using it like a flail."

  6. Toughness save: 22 That’s a bruise for it Ref save: 17 Ans it’s Dazzled Man, the dice are really favoring the heroes. Wildchild - bruise x2, dazed monstrosity - bruised, dazzled Diamondlight - unharmed, 1HP Sea Devil - unharmed, 4HP Nightscale - unharmed, 4HP @Avenger Assembled Sea Devil is up.
  7. GM Nightscale and Wildchild struggled on the ground with grunts and growls from both. The genetically modified vampire snapping her teeth in an angry hiss before the dragon in man form lands a solid blow, dazing her visibly, nearly going limp in his grip. The two were suddenly drowned out but the sound of gunfire from Detective Ramsey’s police issued pistol. The creature that was the woman snarled at the attack but showed no sign of caring about the little metal bits being flung at it. Where the woman once stood, now a monster from a Carpenter or Cronenburg film stood in the tattered remains of its dress that did little in covering anything that had once been human anatomy. “I will tear your hearts from your chests and feast on them.” The creature's voice was rough and scratchy, like iron nails on stone as she snarled at the detectives. “But first…” It swung its angular face in Sea Devil’s direction and what could only be a sneer twisted its face. With a speed that betrays its new mass, one hand of dagger-like claws lash out at the deep one. But her swing is wide and deadly looking claws whistle through the air short of Sea Devil’s armored face plate as the hero easily dodges. Diamondlight seizes the opportunity to strike. And in a flash, literally, he attacks and then the hero is back where he was. Almost as if he never moved. The only evidence of his attack is a clean slice that reeks of burnt flesh, blood and ickor. That, and the cry of rage from the monster as it swipes at the lights still dancing in front of its eyes in futility.
  8. Freedom City has been rebooted! It's time to retell your character's origins with the hindsight of 5, 10 or even more time spent with the character. What changes? What stays the same? Or Imagine what it would be like if the character had been created in the Gold, Silver, Bronze or even... Iron Age. How would things change if they were written during those times. You can either ignore or embrace those aspects of the characters that would be considered problematic then, but just remember to keep things within the site rules. Your reboot stories should be posted no later than the 30th June 2024. (As a reminder, vignettes follow the same general rules as posts in terms of content, player character limits, and so on. You may have only one vignette per player character. Each vignette should be at least one page (~500 words) in length; if posted in your thread counts at the end of the month, it is worth 1pp for the associated character. An especially long vignette, 1000 words or more, may be worth up to 2pp. Multiple players can collaborate on a single vignette - we recommend Google Docs for this, it's very useful - but the vignette should be about one page per participating player.)
  9. Interesting. Alright, let's keep that in the back pocket for now, maybe find a auitably dramatic time for you to have to learn some skills from something that may not have the right body shape. Wiith an 18 and Leaping 3 + wall crawling I figure Predator can get over the rooftops good enough. I'll do a GM post in a little bit if you want to post in response to Predator carrying you IC
  10. Diamondlight Diamondlight took a step or two back, involountary fear driving his body whilst his eyes gazed at the monster before him. "You don't see that every day..." he whispered, somewhat subdued in tone, with a raised eyebrow. Despite his cool exterior, he could feel his heart pumping adrenaline into his muscles, feel the sweat soaking into his shirt. It felt cold, like his skin. But he propelled himself out of his fear. This was a moment for action, not lamentation or indecision. In a flash, he was right by the monster, slicing across with a laser blade of silver-blue energy that flared with the swing, with the impact. And in another flash he was back where he started, eyes focussed, laser blade brought behind him, ready to swing back if need be...
  11. Diamondlight is going to teleport to the monstrosity, strike it with a laser blade, and then (with turnabout feat), teleport (yo yo style) back to his original position. 26 which I suspect (and hope!) hits. If so, a DC 26 Tough Save (Dazzle) and a DC 21 Reflex Save (Visual Dazzle)
  12. GM "5 minutes to landing..." came the call. The snoozing private started shaking violently. "Godamn it, he's having a seizure!" roared the concerned captain rushing over. In but a heartbeat he was flung across the aircraft interior, collapsing in a heap against the dented fusilage. Jean recognised the seizure, the sweat, the drool. Just the same as the so-called Doctor North. The private stood up, veins on his necks taught like wire, pulsing, eyes bulging, red. And in a flash, the private was racing into the cockpit... Just as the plane started its descent...
  13. Can we have initiative rolls, @Dracosternand @Poncho?
  14. GM General Sparks raised his sparking fist and shook it at the heroes far below him. "I AM AN ENORMOUS MOUNTAIN OF GORGONZOLA, SCUM! YOU WILL NOT FIND A BIGGER CHEESE IN THE UNIVERSE. FOR I, AND ONLY I, HAVE THE POWER OF ELECTRICITY!" The heavens rumbled. A storm was about to break. "YOU CANNOT IMAGINE MY UNIMAGINABLE... POW....ER!" The first drops of the storm hit he heroes. A second later, there was a downpour!
  15. Echohead could copy acrobatics but has the "calibration needed" complication... as Jean is very different physically it would take Jim time to pract8ce the skill in new body. Would be a fun complication to put into action?
  16. Wildchild is dazed Monster lady swipes at Sea Devil Melee attack: 17 And misses Wildchild - bruise x2, dazed monstrosity - unharmed Diamondlight - unharmed, 1HP Sea Devil - unharmed, 4HP Nightscale - unharmed, 4HP @Supercape Diamondlight is up
  17. Predator The smooth face of the Predator armor reflected Echohead’s nervousness, but behind it, he just knew… The vixen was giving him an apologetic look, but there was a tinge of mirth behind it. Predator secured her scanner and scooped Echohead up into a carry. Luckily, the man wasn’t taller than her in the armor. “Hold on tight.” Oh ya, she was definitely finding this humorous. He had an idea of how her mind worked right now. Thrusters fired and the duo were airborne. The arch of her trajectory carried them to the first rooftop. A second leap carried them further, where her fingers dung into the wall of the building. She shifted Echohead and climbed up to the ledge. Predator and Echohead continued making their way towards the hospital, one rooftop at a time.
  18. Predator Jean smiled at the officer then regarded the private. “I try not to judge until I have evidence.” She gave the nervous looking solider a nod before turning her attention to the captain. The speakers crackled to life and Jean’s demeanor shifted slightly. She sat up straighter and checked her buckles. “Well now, I hope you packed warm clothing.” On the ground Jean stood from her seat. There was a shimmer in the air around her, the subtle sound of air being displaced and the Predator armor appeared around her.
  19. She also has Leaping 3 and Wall-Crawling 1 under her Movement array. And her light-load is over a ton if it helps. Her Skill Mastery in Acrobatics will only nab her an 18 though. So, if she still needs one. Acrobatics: 12 Oh, come on… Reroll: 26 first roll was good, but I accidentally typed in 1d29 so it didn’t count
  20. Timeout Lawerence frowned slightly as the one calling himself Esquire called for reinforcements to help face the Claremont teens. Then Neko unleashed her powers on the Englishman, downing out his senses with her powers. The blond teen then looked over to Kazra, noting her wound. Raising up one hand, he sent a burst of temporal energy over towards their guide. As the temporal energy washed over the young woman, it helped heal the worst of the gunshot wound. With Kazra in better shape to fight, he prepared himself for whatever might come to aid the hunter.
  21. Michael had been prepared to try and block the axe swinging down at him from the giant lizard man, but it was casually stopped by Paradigm. He would have had to try his best to stop it, and still might not have been able to, but there was this Hero just doing it easily. He grimaced a bit about that and tried to step up, flying up to swing at the big lizard alien's face, but the creature moved it's head and he caught only air, which he felt was quite embarassing. He floated around the creature afterwards, trying to keep his eye on the entirety of the battle as best he could, including watching out for Carmen, in case she needed help.
  22. Okay, sorry for the delay, Timeout will use his healing to heal just Kazra, which will remove her Staggered condition. Will get the IC post up soon.
  23. @Poncho Yes, unfortunately that is a miss. @MoonSimply Okay, Carmen is Bound and Helpless.
  24. Puma fails it with a 15 for the opposed.
  25. Last week
  26. Excellent!~ As per the goal of 'just hit the closest thing' I'm gonna swing at the Boran Lieutenant Attack Roll Results 1d20+7: 18 [1d20=11] Probably a Miss, but if it hits, it's DC 24 Toughness
  27. Cerebral and Cerebellum The twins look up at General Sparks and Daniel just blinks. "Wait...that's him?" He asks outloud, kind of expecting something a little more threatening looking...but this was an old retro game that they were trapped in. So this did make a lot of sense. Iris would nod at her brother and Michael. "Indeed, and he's just as annoying as he looks...still he is a threat." She then turns towards Michael and smiles a little bit. "Bring it down seems like a good idea, but that means you'd have to get around the tower and push it. Daniel, can you distract him while I pull on these support pillars with my telekinesis?" "I can!" "Alright, let's move out." Daniel would float in front of the two and call out to General Sparks. "SO! YOU'RE THE BIG CHEEZE HUH?! YOU DON'T SEEM SO TOUGH!"
  28. Nightscale just 2 https://www.freedomplaybypost.com/topic/14159-dance-beneath-the-stars-ic/?do=findComment&comment=319043
