  1. "And how many public schools have you been in Lingo?" She kept her hand on her luggage as she looked at him, "I've been to about five, and it's been pretty bad most of the time." She smiled as she looked at the rest of them, "But this place is bigger and fancier than most of the community colleges I've seen around Atlanta, and probably some of the towns outside of it. I bet they got like a super chef chopping up the fruit or something." When Will made a comment about his eating habits she snorted, "I've had guy friends before, but with this many of us it'd probably be fair to give them some warning since it's probably a slow day." As they headed towards the dorms a thought occurred to her, "By the way, are me and Cho gonna be roommates?"
  2. HOODED by Thevshi Catalyst Fluff Edits: One, Jasmine's 30 now, two, no longer affiliated with Franklin & Wesler Co., her occupation is Research Professor, and her official name is Dr. Jasmine Benoit (cause she got her Doctorate in inorganic chemistry).
  3. "I'm a colleague of Blackpool," Jasmine said it frankly, "Though we don't exactly see eye to eye on the subject of well," She gestured to him before continuing, "But that's a topic for another time." She looked up to see if Young Britannia was coming back down before looking back to Osprey, "My name is Jasmine Benoit, you may call me Jasmine or Dr. Benoit if you like, however, despite my possession of an AED and some premed classes," She looked over at the unconcious man that had been brought to her, "I'm not that type of doctor, so lets try to avoid making a habit of that."
  4. Jasmine raised an eyebrow at the man and stood up. She motioned to the men in the vans to come over and stepped around the body of the now stable man. "Je suis effectivement français canadien." Taking off one of the bloody rubber gloves she produced a clean hand and put it into his, "But, I did spend most of my teenage life and got my doctorate in the States. As for the problem, It is not exactly one we want to discuss in public. If it would be too much trouble, we would like to talk at a more private venue," She turned her head and looked at the MOPS as he called them, "Without them if you like, I'd prefer that actually. I know they haven't been very welcoming too you, and they haven't been very welcoming to me either. But they've somehow misplaced a good bit of their superpowered influence along the way, so I doubt unless they really tried for a unified front it'd make much of a difference."
  5. Furycraft Furies are elemental creatures that bond and obey Alerans. There are six elements, Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Wood, Metal. Furies are gained in two way, inheriting through family lines, or taming wild furies. Cap for Furycraft is 5, creation cap is 4. 1 Minimum Craft, Able to Do 1 Subtle Crafting (Gain One Bonus to Skills) 2 Decent Crafting, Able to Do 3 Subtle Crafting 3 Manifest Fury (Able to Call Upon Fury as Seperate Entity), Access to Standard Abilities 4 Access to one elements special ability 5 Access to All the elements special abilities Base Stats for Furycraft is 0 per element. Starting Level Furycraft Points is 15 Each Increasing Rank costs an extra point (1=1, 2=2, 3=3) Any unused Furycraft points can be put into Attribute Points instead. Manifesting A Fury A fury that can manifest can act independantly from it's Aleran, in practice, you use your turn to rely a command the fury acts the command in your stead, and can do so from a reasonable distance if you are otherwise occupied. This cannot work if you are restrained by the furies direct opposite. In this case, Air is Earth, Earth is not being in direct contact with the ground, wood is steal, steal is wood, water is fire, fire is water. Fury Abilities Air: Subtle Crafting: Enhanced Speed, Improved Iniative, Ability to Listen to Conversations From Afar, Seeing Things From Afar Standard/Manifest Abilities: Creating Windstreams, Veils Special Abilities: Flying, Weathercrafting Fire: Subtle Crafting: Enhanced Intimidation, Enhanced Deceit, Enhanced Diplomacy, Ability to make Fire Stones Standard/Manifest Abilities: Firecrafting, Increased Area for Subtle Crafting Special Abilities: Fire Sword, Large Fires Earth: Subtle Crafting: Enhanced Might, Enhanced Seduction, Enhanced Survival, Use of Causeways, Calm Animals Standard/Manifest Abilities: Earthcrafting, Earth Rafting (Riding a Fury on an Earthraft) Special Abilities: Large Earthcrafting Water: Subtle: Enhanced Empathy, Enhanced Disguise, Enhanced Notice Standard: Enhanced Medicine (Healing), Watercraft, More Youthful Appearance Special Abilities: Mass Empathy, Contact Ethropy (really Mess peoples up on the inside) Note: Enhanced Empathy CANNOT be turned off, as such, it's usually paired with Metalcraft which allows for the numbing of the impact of others emotions. Metal: Subtle: Enhanced Concentration, Enhanced Toughness, Embuing Metal Furies(Smithing) Standard: Enhanced Weapons, Enhanced Strengh and Sharpness (when Weilding Metal Objects) Special Abilities: Metal Skin, Can Cut Throw Stone (Special Note, Metal doesn't Manifest Furies most of the time, the furies are imbued into the weapon being weilded by the user) Wood: Enhanced Stealth, Enhanced Bows, Enhanced Survival Standard: Manipulation of Trees, Wood and Plantlife, Instant Tools Special Abilities: Deadly Accuracy (Can Shoot Through Stone) Notes: All Alerans have some furycraft and usually gain it early teens, late childhood. More powerful crafters can gain it earlier. Also, all subtle craft becomes more effective with each level past their base requirement. It is unusual for most common people to use more then three furies. The furycraft used generally says a lot about the person that uses them because of how the power effects their approach to problems. Earthcrafters and Woodcrafters are usually very closely associated with woodsmen and nature, Aircraftings are generally nonlinear thinkers, Firecrafters are usually very charismatic or have very pushing personalities, Watercrafters are naturally better at reading people in general and manipulating their feelings, for better or worse, Metalcrafters are almost always associated with weaponsmasters and swordsmiths. Using certain items in Alera require a minimum amount of Furycraft, usually one, but depending on the item it can be more. It is not uncommon for someone to focus on one particular craft to a degree, and have lesser abilities in other crafts, or none at all. Naming a fury and giving it a distinct personality from the owner generally makes manifestation easier. You can combine several abilities to create different effects (At the GMs Discression).

  8. "Good to meet you guys too," Georgia grabbed the hand of the pretty eager young man. Not that anybody matched Cho in excitement levels. She wondered if this school had cheerleading or something like that to help with that level of energy. Still after the storm of the probable confrontation settled they were more or less back on track. At least in terms of what they were going to do. It seemed at least that these weren't the type to overextend a confrontation. Which was good, cause honestly she didn't want to get drenched in whatever insuing battle Giang might of had with Thelia, "Depends on the food and the cafeteria." She adjusted the chest on her shoulder, "I'm pretty sure public schools order all there stuff prefrozen and prepackaged and then reheats it all at varying temperatures to make sure that it's either always a little burnt, or so runny as to be completely inedible. I'm not sure what they do to get the amount of grease on those pizza's though, the ones at my school you could go skating with if you put it crust down."
  9. Georgia took a step back as the slip of the tongue from Cho wasn't taken too well from Thelia, and then there was a pretty quick escalulation from there which more or less ended with the wall of seperating Cho and Thelia. Georgia was still besides Giang and wasn't exactly sure what to add. She wasn't sure what surprised her more, the fact that there was foreign sunken country royalty, that said foreign sunken country actually existed, that there was now a wall of floating water or how quickly a student tour had turned to threats of a brawl. Regardless it seemed that things needed to slow down for a bit, "Um, if ya'll want to simmer down for a bit. Maybe we can drop our stuff off at the dorms before we break any innocent luggage in whatever thing you guys want to be getting mixed up in." She glanced over at Giang, "For clarification, what are the rules and who do you report to for this sort of thing? At my old school you couldn't tap a person on the shoulder without being sent to the principles office or escorted off school grounds."
  10. Georgia shrugged her shoulder, "I guess that makes sense." Looking at the pointed out dorm building, "Will I be rooming with her since we showed up together," She poked a thumb at Cho a moment before the girl wearing the bathing suit, and absolutely nothing else say for a towel walked out into the January air like it was nothing. Which admittably wasn't likely to be the strangest thing she was going to see her, but was still strange. The girl looked to have been swimming, which made sense she she was pretty cut. Georgia in comparison looked pretty out of shape, well she was out of shape, and a bit on the heavy side (hahaha) but still, she glanced down a little more self concious when she was prompted by Cho, "I'm Georgia by the way, and so far my sturdiness varies." She shrugged her shoulders, "They haven't done formal tests, but mostly I can just control my weight, and sort of level of being able to like touch things. Well most of the time, if I don't like lose focus and aren't holding anything too fragile."
  11. Georgia might of thought of the new girl, Cho was her name, as having energy akin to a small dog. But the fact that the girl dwarfed her by a good half a foot made her think labador instead. While Georgia might of been nervous, it did not nearly approach the near manic levels of this girls giddiness that was seeping out as she played twenty questions with the tour guide. She had friends that got like that sometimes when they weren't entirely comfortable, usually it was best to let it play out, but there was some points the other girl brought up that she thought might be worth asking, "Speaking of things with powers, how sturdy is the lab stuff here." She glanced over at her bag, "Cause I've had some trouble with, well dropping fragile things and well, holes in concrete things, and maybe a thing involving a lunch tray halfway through a wall." It was actually still there when she left her last school, she wasn't sure if they'd actually managed to remove it. "Oh and how's the dorm set up? Do we have to share a bathroom or anything?"
  12. "Right, that's me." She gave the girl a good look, playing a quick mental game of guess the region, but stopped for the simple fact that she was terrible at it. Readjusting the trunk on her shoulder, she started to speak, "So do you thin..." She was interrupted by an announcement in the distance of another girl who was just a little past the gate but probably far away back that she couldn't really see them. "Well that didn't take long." She made a gesture for the older girl to go first then moved to follow so they could greet the other member of this welcome party or whatever the heck they called this sort of thing.
  13. Alright, just some throwing around stuff. I'm thinking a skill based system with additional modifiers for certain skills based on how strong you are with the element you furycraft. Natural caps in the skills apply in situations except ones that involve Furycraft which can push it much further as well as has other combat based effects First Off, Races! Alerans Advantages: Access to all Furycraft Disadvantages: Otherwise squishy Humans. Ice Men Advantages: Large in Size, Resistant to Cold, Bonus and Access to Water Furycraft, Intimidating Disadvantages: Additional Weakness to Fire, Scary as Hell Marot Advantages: Takes on traits of whatever bonded too, Bonus to Strengh, Agility and Constitution, Can See in the Dark Disadvantages: No Access to Furycraft Canim Advantages: Large, long life span, fuzzy, claws and teeth, Bonus to Strength, Agility, and Constitution, Advantages to Smell, Advantages to Hearing, Access to Blood Magic Disadvantages: No Access to Furycraft, Sensitive to Hearing and Smell based Attacks Abilities: Presence Wisdom Strength Speed Agility Constitution Intelligence Okay, I'm not sure what the scale for these will be, but basically your stat in each of these skills will determine your stat for any furycraft you have (And you have to roll the ability stat for Furycraft) Any stat you have to roll for certain furycraft will apply for the skills the furycraft is able to influence. Skills Fire Skills (Presence) Deceit Diplomacy Intimidate Water Skills (Wis) Disguise Notice Medicine Empathy Earth Skills (Str) Notice Might Seduction Survival Air Skills (Spd) Athletics Search Reaction Metal (Con) Concentration Toughness Weapons Wood (Agl) Handle Animal Stealth Bows Other (Int) Hand-To-Hand Investigate Knowledge Language Sleight of Hand Strategy
  14. "I say we get into the cab," Opening the door she held out a hand to help him in, "And we get you home and some water, otherwise you're going to have a pounding headache when you get up tomorrow." She looked at the Luddites, "You can discuss whatever you like on the way, but we should be going, it's not good to be out in the open like this." Glancing around she looked forward at the cab driver and gave him a once over before she stepped into the cab after Pennyworth.
  15. It does for the fact that most normal humans have really bad defense. Damage?
  16. GM When the robbers looked towards the door, they were stunned. "What the hell is THAT?!" The large bug like thing that nearly touched the ceiling in height loomed over them in the darkness. One of them outright ran away at the sight stating quite frankly he wasn't paid enough to deal with this. Two of them, not so much. They immediately drew they weapons and opened fire on the new person. Though one of them was shaking so badly that his shot went long and left an indention in the drywall. The other hit on the mark only for the bullet to be casually deflected off the armor.
  17. So, Robber 4 Unharmed Robber 5 Unharmed Graft Unharmed 3 HP Robber 1 Shocked With Fear Robber 2 Shocked With Fear 4 and 5 are both gonna open fire on you. Only one of them hits, DC 18 Toughness Roll.
  18. Lets see, First one is stunned, second one runs the hell away, third one is stun, the other two get their guns. And Iniative, Carrie's gonna be there next round cause she was behind you. So 8, 3, 19 and 15
  19. Jasmine watched as Young Britannia and the attacker mounted even higher and out of her effective range from this angle and pulled the rifle into the window. Turning her attention she was greeted with the odd sight of a winged man carrier someone heavily bleeding. The plead for help was geniune and it didn't take a doctor to know that man was going to die, well a medical doctor anyway. Opening the door she pushed pass the guards and sprinted over, "Let him down," She pulled the goggles off her neck and produced her glasses from her shirt pocket and a pair of gloves from her purse which she put on hastily as she went over the man's injuries and checked his pulse, or lack of pulse in this case. It didn't take long to figure out what had to be done, even if it wasn't her specialty it was still, obvious since his heart had stopped, "Here," She pulled out a thick pad and pressed it on the injury and looked at the winged man, "Apply pressure while I get out the AED." The AED in question was about the smallest you you could buy of a portable one. It took a second for her to go over the instructions before she asked him to move his hands, removed the tattered shirt and placed the pads on the man's chest, "Clear!" She pressed the button and watched as the first jolt went through the man before doing it again, "Clear!" She pressed it again, and then waited a second and put a finger on the man's throat to see if his heart had started again.
  20. OOC stuff, TK can you roll Intimidate?
  21. Carrie coughed as she looked at the clock and let itself tick away as she assessed her options. Okay, in good concience she had exactly two options. Drug seeking behavior was a likely explanation, in the Fens it was often the only explanation really, and drug seekers were not the most rational of folks then there was the Doctor. She didn't know him that well, she didn't know what experiences he had or what he was capable of, but she suspected something that as a general whole was true for most people, He wasn't bulletproof. Coughing a little she jumped off the bed and glanced at the little black domes on the wall. Whatever, she didn't feel like changing for this, she'd just cough up a lunge in her mask and make herself sick again later. Walking over to the door she took a second to examine the lock and produced a credit card from her wallet. It popped and she turned the handle and looked down the hallway, no doctor, which wasn't good, taking a guess at the buildings layout she sprinted in the direction they heard the breaking glass.
  22. GM About five guys, of varying degrees of menace were shuffling through the back storage rooms. Medically speaking, they weren't looking for anything in particular, one of them had a box and they were essentually taking anything that looked vaguely like medicine only occasionally glancing at bits and bottles they were looking for. It was a fairly simple thing in their mind, late at night, hit the clinic. Much less security then a regular pharmacy, certainly there wasn't an alarm like most places. They were armed, but most of their guns were holstered, they didn't expect much if any fight.
  23. "Just wanted to check, I'm a bi.." She started coughing again and pushed a tissue against her mouth before she continued, "A bit paranoid I guess, plus I couldn't sleep like this anyway, so I'll probably just grab some nitequil and shut off my alarm cloc..." There was the sudden sound of a window breaking near the back of the clinic. Carrie's reaction was instantianous, it wasn't surprise or fear, her hand went to her head and there was just a sigh, "Doctor, you don't happen to have any legal meds on the property?"

  25. Carrie took the tissues and essentually tried to empty her nose of the offending mucus. It didn't work out so well because more kept coming, but the initial flow had been taken care of, "I would of gotten some col..." Carrie was coughing for a minute before she continued, "Cold syrup, but the stores sell out faster in the Fens." She sniffed a little bit, she tried to rub at her nose but the irritation even with the tissue made it burn when she did so. She sat down where she could and tossed her handful of used paper towels in the trash bin, "Been a while since I've been sick, given, if you fall in a river in the middle of the winter something might happen eventually."
