  1. That's a DC 32 to avoid being rushed off the side of the building. Spending an HP to surge Power Attacking for 5 Spending an HP to reroll my attack If I get my Sneak Attack bonus (I do have full Visual Concealment and we are falling off a building), that's DC 30 Tou, plus whatever damage he takes when he hits.
  2. Avenger had watched a lot of movies with Taylor in the months they'd been together. One of his favorites, given that it was after all the story of a monster in love with a beautiful woman with a penchant for classy outfits, had been King Kong. Invisible even in the glaring, maddening sunlight above, Avenger tackled the monkey, plowing it right over the side of the building itself. Without hesitation, Avenger went right with it, only belatedly remembering he couldn't fly or grab the walls! Crap! I HATE the Sun! Stupid daylight! Why can't we blot out the Sun like civilized people! Hissing defiance as he went, he slammed his fist into the monkey's head even as they fell.
  3. In a corner of the living room, Jack watched Ace's shudder with narrowed eyes. He'd opted to just conceal himself here quietly, his misty body invisible in the wash of the apartment's heating and cooling unit, and as usual with Ace he didn't really like what he saw. It wasn't that he objected to Ace's familiarity with Taylor; he knew that was simply the way the immortal adventurer operated. It was just that sneaking suspicion that told him that it was done for his benefit, to annoy him and bedevil him, that was so irritating. But that was all right; he was used to that sort of baiting from Ace. He'd just sit here in the corner and make sure the party went on smoothly, and that none of the intruders in his family's territory went where they shouldn't. It'd be fine.
  4. Math is looking better. Low defense is low; you really want to hit PL caps at PL 6. If you lose some of your redundant feats, you can come in hitting combat caps (which you really want to do) and buy them later with XP.
  5. The math is off on the drawbacks section, you can't have more than your PL in drawbacks. You need to add her ability modifiers to her abilities section. Glancing at Malcom, the math is off on his skill modifiers.
  6. Mark power-stunts the following off his Probability Control array: Nullify 12 [all firearms] (Extras: Duration [Concentration], Burst Area, Selective) (Flaws: Distracting) (PFs: Progression 6 on Area, Precise, Subtle) (60 pp) This should shut down every gun in the bank!Mark will spend every HP he has (he has 7 base and several more from his complications to his Young Freedom allies like Eddie, Mike, and Chris) to make any guns inside the bank that pass the save fail with Luck Control. Boo-yah!
  7. "Okay, fine," said Mark. "I'm going to make all their guns not work anymore. If it doesn't work, you'll have to move in really fast and stop the bad guys before anyone innocent gets hurt." And with that, Mark concentrated carefully, reaching out to tug at the strands of fate and chance the way he'd only recently learned how to do. "Breakdown, you remember in history class when they told us about the first time somebody tried to kill the President? And the President lived because both the guy's guns jammed in a one in a million chance?" Mark closed his eyes, and then opened them wide, spreading his hands. "What are the odds that every bad guy's gun fails at the same time!?!"
  8. And you'll want to fix the cost of your blast.
  9. OK, looks like you've overspent on Feats. What does your other Second Chance feat give you?
  10. Starsign, Just looking at the numbers right now, you've got some editing that needs fixed. Remember that your Skill Modifier is based off the relevant attribute, and Rycon's attribute modifiers are a bit lower than you have. i.e; with a Dex mod of +2, her Acrobatics is 2 (+4) and Stealth is 2 (+4). We do require that you buy at least one rank of base Attack/Defense. I like your choice to make her knives a hard to lose device, the better to not be disarmed. (Or rather, that she always has another one somewhere.) That said, you need to give the cost of the various powers you've bought with the device. Backstory looks interesting!
  11. "I don't know how I should feel," admitted Mark again as they finally reached the baseball field. "But I'm not going to let not having my powers keep me down. This is just for a day. Things are going to be okay." He walked onto the field, gave a loose ball a kick, and watched with shock as it soared away from him and rolled far out of his reach. With a deep sigh, he jogged further down the field to retrieve it.
  12. "We'll meet you there," agreed Avenger, stepping back and taking Phantom's hand. "It's going to be okay, Dark Star. I really think...it's going to be okay." He actually smiled behind his mask, at that.
  13. Avenger was dead silent, and perfectly still, almost long enough for Dead Head to wonder if he'd made a mistake, before the vampire spoke. "So, you do have a realistic outlook," he said, something like black humor in his voice. "Wondered sometimes if your condition had driven you insane. Physically, from the decay, or mentally from the social isolation. Only the restless dead to talk to, their words ever-haunting your nights." He snorted, and it was more a growl. "Expected every superhero in the city to turn on me when what I was leaked out. Don't know why it didn't happen. Suspect grim and gritty persona coupled with popular entertainment made vampires appear unthreatening. Still expect it to happen, sometimes. Heard you had a do-gooder come after you the other day."
  14. Avenger picked the easiest thing to say, or at least the less complicated. "Come home with us, Dark Star. Help us make sure she comes back to you." He walked up and extended his hand to his flying friend. "It's...it's actually going to be okay this time."
  15. You have no idea what I mean, my revenant friend. And maybe it's better that you don't. Glad for the chance to change the subject, Avenger gratefully growled, "She's doing well. Another few weeks, and I'll be a father." Avenger shook his head at that. "Never thought I'd hear myself say that. Always regarded the idea with horror, much less what it would have meant...after."
  16. "Except me," said Mark wryly, grinning at Mike's polite phrasing. Some of his friends at school were considerably more direct when it came to telling him when his luck powers were and weren't acceptable. "I'll be as good as luck allows me," he said. "Maybe I'll just be the ump again."
  17. Avenger threw up his arm as the field of energy washed over them all, a rock seeming to fall right through him...but surely that was a trick of the light as the wash of Dead Head's power came through over all of them, pulling them away from certain death.
  18. "Oh yes," agreed Avenger, hmming at that. "I was distracted at the time." He reached over and put his hand on Taylor's stomach too, his gloves hiding the fact that his skin was the temperature of the air outside. "I guess the black hole's not very threatening at this juncture, though. Could you take the whole setup and drop it back in Freedom City, say in Archeville's labs?"
  19. Avenger strode unhesitatingly through the snow, following his fellow heroes and not looking affected in the least by the cold. I need to remember to warm up before I touch anyone, he thought. So they don't get any funny ideas. At the sight of Dark Star's prison, he called, "Phantom, can you see the generator that you cracked open before?!" He strode up to the container himself, giving it an experimental blow.
  20. Setting Divine Power Array to the Flaming Sword (free action) Move-Action to get in House's face Spending an HP for Ultimate Diplomacy. That's DC 40; enough to move a Hostile target between Friendly and Helpful.
  21. Freedom Angel flew into the hangar, dodging around explosions, his magnificent wings fluttering as he came to a halt in the air just in front of the huge creature there that was causing all the trouble. He spread his wings wide to get its attention, momentarily stopping the beast's rampage. "My friend!" he called out, seeking empathy with something he knew very little about, "can't you see the damage you're doing?" He pointed to some nearby fuel barrels. "If you're not careful, this whole building could explode, endangering innocents everywhere." He extended his free hand. "Come. Let us put an end to this violence."
  22. "I feel funny," admitted Mark, watching his feet very carefully as he walked down the street. "Not even clumsy, really, just...really funny." He suddenly sneezed, violently, but caught himself after a moment. "And not ha-ha funny, either, just funny weird. But I'll be okay."
  23. You guys have reached the limit of the useful information you can get from Captain Thunder. :D
  24. "Drop me behind the monkey," said Avenger without hesitation. "I'll give him something to scream about," he added ominously, feeling especially protective of Phantom in her condition. "See if you can find Hellion or Atlas when you're done."
