  1. Mentioning things from chat: It's Hell controlled by an emotion demon. The scenery's not going to stay static! Nox (and Kaiser if you return) can mess with the scenery too. I figure it changes every time we go in and out of a room. Also the rain is liquefied pain. It's raining pain
  2. Scion nodded, "yeah, drinks sound pretty good right about now." As they exited the room, the once Escher-designed halls had changed into an open field. The sky was filled with dark red clouds and it was raining sloppily wet. The liquid that was falling was silver and stung as it hit them, before sinking into the wet, sloshy ground as the thunder rolled from above. Off in the distance the was a shelter. "alright, I guess that's the only place we have to go then," she pointed the structure out. "Last one there probably melts," she said racing off to it. As they got closer, the structure grew and grew until it was the size of a sky scraper. The lone glass building loomed. "Surely this is the way back to Kansas, Toto," she said to Spitfire sarcastically.
  3. You are adept at reading between the lines and making connections between two apparently unrelated facts. This is not so much intuition as the ability to process and compare information on the fly. If you roll a natural 20 on any Gather Information, Investigate, or Knowledge check, you gain an insight that appears unrelated to the subject at hand. You can then make a new check for any one of the skills mentioned without needing to have any tools or reference material readily available. The subject of the second roll doesn’t need to be related to the first one, so a hero could suddenly deduce the answer to a scientific problem that had been plaguing her for weeks after talking about the latest baseball game while searching local bars for information on weapon shipments. Each additional rank in this feat moves the die roll threshold that allows a second check by one, up to a natural roll of 16 to 20.
  4. I'll change it to biological then. About the Fangs not needing Mighty, are you saying it would add Strength damage without it?
  5. It's to cure diseases and poisons, but it can be weaponized to take away physical powers. Also the target has to have blood of some sort (not a flaw but something for hemokinesis to work). Also also, it's distracting, not something that would be wise to keep up for long in a fight.
  6. Player Name: Moira Morley Character Name: Sanguine Power Level: 10 (150/154PP) Tradeoffs: -0 attack, +0 effect; -0 defense, +0 toughness Unspent Power Points: 4 In Brief: A bloodbender trying to make sense of her unheroic powers in a heroic light. Residence: Freedom City, New Jersey Base of Operations: None Catchphrase: "It's what's on the inside that counts." Alternate Identity: Maria Sangre (birth name), Bloody Mary (nick name) Identity: Public Birthplace: Manhattan, New York City, New York Occupation: College Student Affiliations: Freedom City University Family: Sarah Sangre (mother, 36), Tyrese Sangre (father, 40), Martin Sangre (brother, 20), Martha Sangre (sister, 20) Age: 18 (born 14 March, 1999) Apparent Age: late teens Gender: Female Ethnicity: Hispanic Height: 5'5" Weight: 140 pounds Eyes: red sclera, black pupils Hair: black Maria is somewhat of an hourglass, but with slightly wider hips. Her body is firm and put together nicely, not a single ounce of wasted space. Her hair is smooth and long enough to reach her mid-back, she mostly wears it down, but can tie it up into a large, braided bun. Her skin is a darker brown. She was born with her eye color. Her top canine teeth are short sharp fangs. She has three tattoos. Between her shoulder blades are three Chinese words, top to bottom, 'Red', 'Life', 'Serpent'. On her left shoulder is a snake coiled around a sun, trying to swallow it. On her right wrist is a sleeping snake wrapped around it. She always wears knee-length or ankle-length skirts that always flow. Her tops are either sleeveless, button-up vests or sleeveless sports tanktops. Shoes are a pair of white trainers. Her costume is a full body suit that covers everything but her neck and head, and a domino mask. The suit is made of morphic molecules, and feels slightly ridged to the touch. It's dark red with thin black lines that look like snake scales. Power Descriptions She was born with her powers, making her a mutant. Though she didn't get any of the Hemokinesis or Levitation until her junior or senior year of high school. As mentioned, she was born with her eye color. Hemokinesis is noticeable as she and the effected are surrounded by a damp, dark red corona. Levitation is a weak form of telekinesis that she can only affect herself with... for now. Fangs are subtle because they fit in her mouth. Blood Awareness causes her eyes to glow, though it's a purely mental sense and doesn't need to see to use it. Her Mutated Blood is not visible, but she cannot donate and does not have a matching type to any. History Maria's parents are second and third generation Puerto Rican immigrants. They met as children and grew up together, eventually having their first children and getting married afterwards. Her older brother and sister are identical, and (to Maria's belief) some what psychic of each other. Being the youngest, her sister and brother believed she was coddled too much. Maria didn't disdain the love of her parents, but she did test their boundaries. She was a smart kid who got away with more than she'd admit. None-the-less, her smarts got her into good places, like advanced classes. Puberty was kind to her, the cute little kid turned into a beautiful woman. During that time she tested her boundaries again, and she found out she was pretty much savvy in the ways of giving direction. She was happy about that. She saw herself a leader, a guide. Late in her senior year of high school is when she started developing her powers. It was almost an accident. She though she was losing a tooth at first but when she saw the fangs it was less scary and more intriguing. She joked around school that she was some kind of vampire. only to find out that there was more than just fangs. She could sense blood and when she sensed it, could do things to it! From then on she kept on pushing the boundaries of her powers, seeing what she could do. She even ordered a morphic molecule costume. She was going to be a hero post high school. Then the free ride to Freedom City University came. She had her suspicions, but the scholarship was just for good grade. She could have went anywhere, but Freedom City had superheroes. The more she could interact with the big guys. the better. So she accepted. Personality and Motivation Maria is 'dominant'. She leads, balking at the idea of following. Not that she's mean or rude about it, she just knows her place is the front. Though if she has to defer to someone, she'll take notes meticulously, trying to see what it would take to be in that position. Like any leader, she is a problem solver. She'll listen and try to find solutions. Maria is also studious, and a researcher. Even in quiet times she likes to challenge her mind. If there ever is quiet time. Maria is a mover and shaker. The only time she seems to be still is when she's asleep. Maria seeks two things right now. One the destigmatization of her powers. People see the whole blood part of her powers and think very lowly of them! She's not a bad person and wants to show that. The other goal is to balance being a hero and continuing her education. She has a degree to earn and people to protect, of which she's giving up on neither. Complications Disability: Her blood thickens without power use. She takes blood thinners or uses her powers, depending on the situation. Disability: She needs contacts or glasses to see far away. Identity: She does not keep this secret. Prejudice: Being a hemokinetic gets you looks in the hero community when you work your powers. People think she's either a villain or is at least an 'Iron Age' hero when they see it! Reputation: Blood powers? Fangs? People think she's a vampire! Reputation: Her headstrong leader attitude does not endear her to some. Responsibility: She is attending Freedom City University on a scholarship. She's also pledging a sorority at FCU. 7. I'll be submitting one soon. Within the next day or so
  8. Edone... Scion... Moira knew that little display wasn't real now, but it felt like a little piece of home in her heart. Spitfire's 'comforting' words softened it a bit. She nodded when he asked if she was alright, "Mind tricks, I'm OK with them in some regards. I know a few psychics. They're good folks despite the wrap they get. But yeah, sucks to be on the receiving end of a whammy." Her eyes widened as Vita Nexus began to flicker in and out. "You alright," she said stepping towards him. Before she could reach out, he disappeared! Scion was a mix of anger and astonished. Not that she hadn't seen someone disappear before. She turned to Spitfire. "And then there were two?" There was slighted anger in her voice, "we have to find him. We have to find out what's going on in this place."
  9. I thought you'd build them one a piece! Actually, I'd be OK with just Scooby and Shaggy. If you want to give Shaggy some kick, there's a series by DC called Scooby Apocalypse (whihc is getting good review). Gives them post apocalyptic tech. Though I don't know if that'd fit into the 'non-violent' scheme of things
  10. Mystery solving teens with a quirky talking animal companion. or Flower Child from the 60s with immunity to aging and a long memory. Power wise, either a plant controller or some kind of psychedelia inducement.
  11. Yeah, Kaiser hasn't been on in two weeks. Hope everything's OK!

  13. @Kaiser6012 @EviscerusNox I hope I didn't turn you two off from this game!
  14. 'Hermes' looked confused, "Mistress Edone, you would bring these non-believers into our place of worship? Show where your true loyalties lie. Strike them down, as a goddess of Olympus. The goddess of Olympus." Scion looked around a terrible headache was welling inside her every time Spitfire and Vita Nexus revealed the ruse. Like some discordant harp. She knew that they were right, but what of it? She would be a true goddess here. She was better than any of them all. That's what she felt. Or she was made to feel. "Stop," she said grabbing her head, "Is this real? Is this not real?" She looked to Hermes, "bring me Ares, my father. Bring me Aphrodite, my mother." "Right away, Mistress Edone," in a flash representations of her mother and father were before her. "My daughter," 'Aphrodite' spoke, "you are much more beautiful and well-spoken than I, why do you need us?" 'Ares' nodded, "and your skill and prowess in battle has surpassed even mine. These inhospitable thugs should be no match for you." Each time they spoke, Vita nexus saw the black tendrils feeding into her aura. Scion had seen enough, if they were her real parents they would have greeted her much differently. These were puppets. Her headache grew lesser and lesser now that she disbelieved. So did the room's decor until it faded back to the purple room with a single light in it. "I'm sorry you guys had to see that," Scion said sullenly, the lowest she could go for Spitfire and Vita Nexus to hear. Still Vita Nexus saw the tendrils in her aura, but they were snapped and useless to whatever was using them.
  15. Denise hits Maybelle 25 > 19 That'll be a DC27 Toughness Princess hits Moira 18 = 18, ties go to attacker DC 27 Toughness Moira saves 31 > 27
  16. GM The blast of silver energy connected squarely, ripping Denise's coat and burning into her side. "I should have guessed. You got energy. But I'm going to kick you down and take off of yours, Glowy," she lied, badly. She was trying to keep her spirits up as her ex was over there flirting with the enemy. "You want energy, Cheffy, have all the energy!" a large line of purple energy zapped into Maybelle. Feeling it was less energy and more like some weird body shot that felt like a glob and disapated instantly. Princess frowned a little bit and then crinkled up her nose in disgust, "you know what? I don't need your sass. I don't need an of you. The whiny girl. The angry super chef. The high maintenance girl. Forget all of you!" She hauled off and delivered a swat at Moira that hit perfectly, but did not seeming crumple her like she thought the smaller woman would. Her heat leapt into her throat, "@#$%!"
  17. Moira questioned this whole set up. Princess was throwing petty insults and not really helping anyone but her. While it was a 'nice' gesture she guessed, Moira couldn't help but notice the two were in league and basically this heist was their break up. MOira was not impressed at all. "You do know that taunting her is going to cause more property damage, right," she looked to Princess with a quirked eyebrow as Denise and Maybelle fought in front of them. "Listen, you're beautiful and all, but I get the hunch that you're not my type. This ratchet noise has to stop."
  18. "Oh, me," Moira acted surprised, "see I don't think I shout have to cower to an, admittedly awesome costumed, a-hole." She shrugged but before she could say another word, she heard glass breaking. "See, in my city, Darth Fisherman, we have heroes," she grinned. Looking at the large woman about to snap into the villain of the moment, Moira could have held back. Though she heard 'Atlantean'. She sent a message up to Olympus, "Like, our Atlantis? You have any info on this girl?" She was connected to Aphrodite her mother, Ares her father, Apollo her love, and Dionysus her close friend, "if not poke Poseidon, if you can, see what he knows." All the while she was talking, she glowed a golden color. She figured that the amazonian looking woman would be taking care of things, but she was very visible now.
  19. Denise Toughness 24, failed by 2, bruised
  20. GM Denise snarled at the hero's taunt, not paying attention. "Of course," she mumbled to herself, "this city is sick with them. Can't go a minute without finding a hero." She looked over to Maybelle, "If you want to have this out, Chef Glowstone, you'll get some of the roof action too!" She pointed at Maybelle and shot another purple glob of energy at her. It attached to Maybelle and launched her into the roof! Princess stood up as Denise began to quarrel with the cook. She wasn't going to take this lightly. But for now, maybe silver would beat purple. She looked down to Moira and offered a hand up. Moira obliged standing up. Both of them were not about to let this go unnoticed. "Don't worry about her, she's just jealous," Princess taunted her now former lover.
