  1. This Should be this I see that of the 10pp freed up, 5 were spent on the "Protective Undersuit," and 1 to make his Immunity to Sleep innate. What'd the other 4 get spent on?
  2. What, there's no thread on this, either?! Heroes season three will premiere on September 15, 2008 with a three-hour premiere event. The first hour will be a recap of the first two seasons, and the final two hours will be the premiere episode. The season 3 premiere was lter pushed back to Monday Sept 22nd. Seth Green and Breckin Meyer to join cast? And now... spoilers!
  3. [[ Written in Dutch, with completely normal ink in a completely normal leather-bound journal ]] July 23rd, 2008 I've finally made it to America! To Freedom City, no less! I've been thinking of coming here for some time, ever since graduating from the University of Groningen. I'd wanted to go to Chicago and New York and Raleigh, see their museums... their art... but, I predict I'll be very busy in Freedom City for quite some time. Though I almost didn't make it! There was, of course, a screaming babe on the plane, and I was stuck next to some prattling fool who kept going on and on about his lost love and his descent into alcoholism. I was, fortunately, able to keep my temper in check -- killing him would have given me some satisfaction, yes, but it would be fleeting. There'd be more screaming, an air marshal would pull a gun, I'd wind up slaughtering everyone... and then likely have to bail and wing my way here under my own power. However, I did see that the man got off the plane here, and got a taxi into town. If our paths cross again, things will go very differently. What direction they go will depend on my mood at the time, of course -- maybe I'll tempt him into being a patsy for some scheme, or maybe I'll just tear his head off. Speaking of schemes, there's so much here catching my eye! The Hunter Museum of Natural History, near FCU Campus and Liberty Park, is filled with archaeological wonders. I doubt any on display would be magical -- I've heard they get Eldrich to looks over all items and make sure they're "Safe for the public," but there could be some un-examined ones in the storage rooms, waiting to be seen. Of course, even the non-mystical ones are treasures in and of themselves, and would certainly look better in my home than in a cold museum. Ditto for the Kirby Museum of Fine Arts, also near Liberty Park. I hear there's some great restaurants, too. I'll need to set up one soon, along with an antique shop out of which I can do business (both legitimate and covert). This small apartment is good enough for a start, but I need something more, something I can make my own. Perhaps something along Riverside -- easy access to docks and shipments, and I hear that's where most of the artists hang out, the sort willing to do most anything for a shot of fame, or some drug, or a meal. I'll need some concealments, though, something to block Eldrich's senses (at least his passive ones) so he's not tipped off to my presence. Just one more reason to get in touch with the local mystics, though. In the meantime, though, I need some quick cash, but something low-key. Much as I may hate lowering myself to such a position, my other form's strength and appearance would make me an imposing bouncer, especially at some of the more 'extreme' clubs. Later I can work on getting something more 'respectable,' something with ready access to... precious things.
  4. Then I shall stamp him APPROVED. And let the Refs know he's ready for hi second look.
  5. Prostrate thyself before ye Refs, and beg for thine character to be retrieved from the Pit of Oblivion. ;)

  8. Found one error: you've got 49 ranks in skills, not 48. Fix that, and change the wording of those flaws so that it's clear that his own Darkness isn't sufficient for them, and I'll give my approval.
  9. As the four travel, Mongrel Angel, Vigor and Wesley can all tell that the winds are blowing in a westerly direction, that is, from east to west. The three also realize that these winds have been fairly strong for the past several days. Perhaps Mashin-Kun's artificial skin cannot feel the wind as well as the others.... Wesley alone, though, picks up something on the wind, perhaps owing to the nature of his powers or to a sudden gust that just happens to go right up his nostrils. It's faint, he can just barely pick it up, but as soon as he does it triggers some very primal parts of his brain. It's the smell of animals, and straw, and excrement, and water. It's the powerful, pungent smells of a zoo, carried on the winds.
  10. Eric's bark-laugh caught Archeville's attention, and when Eric saw the super-scientist looking his way, he had an expression as if he were trying to remember who Eric was. Archeville's attention was quickly drawn away by hearing someone speak in his native tongue. He made a mental note of the rather tall speaker, and planned on making sure to chat with him for a bit before the reception was over. But all this would have to wait, because at his moment, Archeville was being half-lead, half-dragged to a table with some of the old alumni from the stage. Including the one who'd been so unceremoniously tossed about on stage, and his dagger-staring wife. “Ah, professor und Frau Terrayne, so... good to see you two again. How was your latest trip to Yellowstone?” After about 10 minutes of being talked down to by the Terraynes, hearing how terribly offended they were at the events and at Archeville's cavalier attitude towards it all, the doctor subtly nudged a passerby with his foot. The passerby apologized for almost tripping over him, exactly as he'd hoped. “Ah, no need to apologize, my good man, such things happen! Say, aren't you von of de new Engineering professors?” Archeville turned back to the Terraynes, “excuse me just one moment, please, I've been meaning to talk to dis man for some weeks now!” Before either could reply, Archeville was off, following the man... whose identity or vocation he in truth knew nothing about. Soon he'd made his way to the small table where the young man with the barking laugh (i.e., Eric Micheals) was seated, though it took him another 15 minutes as he stopped to exchange pleasantries with numerous people. “Guten abend, good evening! I trust you're all enjoying de food."
  11. It appears the old map link is dead. Here's the current one: http://grfiles.game-host.org/2e_files/freedommap.jpg And here's the new link to the FC Encyclopedia: http://grfiles.game-host.org/2e_files/F ... opedia.pdf And here's the latest M&M 2E Rules FAQ (last updated December 4, 2006): http://grfiles.game-host.org/2e_files/MM2eFAQ.pdf
  12. You can take 10 for tis Survival check, yes. VM, what's Mashin-Kuin's Survival check?
  13. Objects made of shadows that don't cast shadows? Trippy... 8-) Everything looks fine, but I want to sleep on it before giving my final approval.
  14. I liked X-Men: Evolution. This series looks somewhat similar in style, I think.
  15. We try and keep thing a bit more Four Color-y than what's going on in current comics. Grim and gritty have their place, and in small doses they can add excellent contrast, but we do try and keep things firmly rooted in "this is the kind of place no player would be opposed to living in, at least for a short while." Ah, so it's "any shadow or darkness not directly generated by his own Darkness Control"? That's a different story... but we still have the same problem. Since he has that Continuous Create Object effect, he can just create a shady spot anytime, anywhere. *re-reads the sections on Dynamic powers in UP* Well, seems doable: it doesn't say the base effect must by Dynamic.
  16. Welcome aboard! As for where to jump in, once you get a character approved, poke around in the Campaign Discussion board for anything that's open for folks, or post your own ideas for adventures you'd like your character to go on. The board is very player-driven: if there's something you want to see happen, make it happen!
  17. The "party" heads Southeast, the rising full moon adding a bit of illumination to their travel. Almost immediately they're back at he spot where Alex McGee -- and, more recently, one of Mongrel Angel's earlier "associates" -- had been attacked. [[ In terms of where this is on the map, it's about the middle of the first 'bulge' in the Promenade, the bulge that's at the part of the river that says "Wading River", and due west of the Hanover Zoo. ]] Anyone pausing to investigate the area would find no sign of any blob-monsters, but would find a patch of dirt that was damp. Anyone who touched it would feel a tingling, burning sensation, though not enough to cause any real lasting damage. If a person carrying baking soda were to sprinkle some on the patch, it would bubble and foam for a few moments like an elementary school volcano. The tree branches above rustle softly, but it is impossible to tell whether that's from something moving among them, or simply from the light breeze that's blowing through the area. [[ I need a Notice and a Survival check from everyone, please. ]]
  18. Welcome to FC PbP! Please, introduce yourself in the "Secret Identity" thread (see my .sig for the link). The concept's solid, though a tad grimmer than what we're used to here. There are a few stat errors and issues, too. "Requires shadows/darkness as a medium or source" isn't really a Flaw for his Concealment or Regeneration, since he can make his own Darkness at most any time. This also applies to his ESP and Teleport, since they're Dynamic APs and so he can create darkness at some target point. Speaking of the Dynamic APs, his Darkness Control actually costs 31pp -- 22 for rank 11, +4 for the four regular APs, +4 for the two DAPs, and +1 more to make the Darkness Control itself Dynamic.
  19. This says it'll start airing in the US in Spring 2009.
  20. At first I thought of the Anchor flaw (from ULTIMATE POWER): Teleport with the Anchor flaw can only be used to teleport to a specific place or object; you can change the anchor point by spending one minute at the new anchor site. This would work for being able to teleport to your Lair, but not back out to where he was before (he'd have to walk or fly back to the site and then he could attune to it). (And, no, you can't have Teleport [Anchor/Lair] with an AP of Teleport [Anchor/Where he last was], no more than you could have Blast [Only vs. Men] with an AP of Blast [Only vs. Women]. It's too cheap.) Also, I'm not sure "No Extra Weight" is really worth a full Flaw, especially if the Suit does not count as "Extra Weight". It could be a Drawback, though. I would suggest having the Lair be in another dimension (Isolated), and for the watch to have Super-Movement (dimensional)... but I can't recall if Dimensional Movement is a banned power here. That... doesn't really answer the question Do you want All Powers, or All Traits? Oh, no, Battlesuit/Gadgeteer combos can work -- instead of Normal Identity, use Power Loss for that Device. At best, it'd be worth one pp less than the comparable Normal Identity drawback, since you're just losing that one power, not everything. And in your case, where he's got a watch which lets him Teleport to his Suit, it'd be worth even less of a drawback. If the Immunity to Sleep is a racial thing, you may want to consider slapping Innate on it.
  21. Sorry, thought I had done all that. I must've not saved something somewhere. Should be fixed now.
  22. "Get me to mein gear, I can teleport us. If you think I'm White enough, of course." "So, er, just how long haff you men been in here? Months? Years?" Archeville asked, sounding very much like the New Prison Inmate from tv and movies. "I don't suppose any of you were here during de Invasion of '93, or de Riot of '83, no? Those must haff been a sight!" [[ I don't think there's anything unconscious about WK's racism ]]
