  1. Hmm, the software here at works prevents me from veiwing this, so I must wait to form any sort of opnion. In turns of crossover games, I still want to create a game called NFL Sniper: "Take that, Tom Brady!" :D
  2. I think Grim will soon appear here, in her new guise as Leonard 'Lenny the Lifter" Stein, a superpowered street punk and booster just in from Atlantic City; she's looking to create a rep for herself (or more properly 'himself') in an attempt to get closer to Heironymous King.
  3. Personally I would be fine ending this storyline here; it allows us to move in several different possible directions, and I kind of want to leave Ren's last statements hanging in the air. How 'bout you, VM?
  4. Oops, just edited my last post here - check the exciting new conclusion above!
  5. Hey, didn't you say Nightrival was gonna ask Grim to join his team at the end of 'Take the Skinheads Bowling'? If you ask her now in 'The Hole', she won't think it's a sincere offer Technically I guess you still could ask in Skinheads, since it's just ended, so we could tack on a post or two.
  6. I just realized that I never got Grim a set of lockpicks/tools to use with her Disable Device skill; she's no longer Impoverished by the time of 'The Hole', so I'm wondering if this would be one of those things she could reasonably have per the site's take on Wealth? If not, I'll just deal, and buy some next month ;)
  7. Ok, I'm going to post here today/tonight, and will assume that Colby is driving, just to get this party started...er, restarted ;)
  8. Hey, I'm just glad your okay, dude - the internets starts to look mighty cold and lonely when a gaming bud is long absent  I hope things in your life get better, and don't worry about us, we'll be fine; take all the time you need to get your house in order, we'll be waiting here with a virtual pint for ya when you come back :D
  9. There are two men in Grim's life, and up until now they have been oblivious of each other: Nightrival, the streetwise avenger of the Southside, and Nanowire, the Japanese flying robot man. One is her mentor, the other her friend and possibly much more. Both men care a great deal about this petite crimefighter, and would do seemingly anything to protect her. But both have fought in the past, and may again in the future; as Nightrival comes to depend on Grim more and more, and Nano's feelings for her grow stronger and stronger, can this possibly end well for any of them? And what is it in Grim's nature that has allowed this state of affairs to come to pass?
  10. Grim laughs. "Yeah, kinda; more of a boyfriend-slash-ongoing project. He's been walking on the dark side for a while, and I'm trying to pull him back into the light." She takes a tentative step closer to the wall and leans as far forward as she can to peer at its surface. "I think, given time, he could be one of the greats; maybe not like Centurion great, but he could pull his weight on the League." She smiles to herself. "I know he could." And then the walls started moving in. "Oh crap!" Apparently ingoring the pian in her ankle, Grim scampers towards the door, but skids to a stop about ten feet short. "Wait, it's gotta be a trap, too, right?"
  11. Now that the wind is no longer rushing past them, Lynn's sensitive ears pick up Ren's murmured endearment, and the diminutive heroine stretches, yawns and scrunches up her face like a kitten. "Are we at the moon yet?" She rises to a seated position, her short hair sticking up in all sorts of crazy directions, and squints around through one open eye; once she gets a look at the view across the river, she smiles and opens both eyes. "That's beautiful; God, I love this city so much sometimes it hurts." She turns back to Ren, sees he has reverted to his more human form, and her sleepy grin could melt through hardened steel. "There you are." She worms back into his arms, head leaning back against his chest, and sighs in pure contentment. "This is the good part; we have to figure out a way to make this last forever, bare minimum." She peers up at Ren's smooth handsome face, searching his features for a few seconds. "I live on the seventh floor of the Imperator Hotel, the suite in the southwest corner." She scrunches back down and returns to watching the lights on the boats chugging up and down the river. "I could, like, put a sock in the window when I wanted to see you; then you would fly by, see the sock, and bring me ice cream. And maybe one day-" She laughs and shakes her head. "See, that'll never work - I'd just put a sock in the window every day; more like ten socks." She looks back up at Ren. "But I could give you my patrol routes, and you could hang a sock, or, y'know, whatever you want, and I would go to your place, or we could take turns..." Grim stops herself from getting too worked up and looks back across the water; after a minute of silence, she speaks with great determination. "I want you in my life...a lot. I'd like to see you every day, barring crime waves, undercover work or major Jewish holidays." She sighs and closes her eyes. "So that's it." Pause. "And I think I left my stuffed cat back at the crime scene."
  12. I'm going to add just a little something extra here, which might require one or two more posts form one or both of us, but I think we need to leave room for this to grow. EDIT: Did a few minor tweaks on that last post.
  13. SB, please forgive me if this bit of info Grim just dropped in your lap takes the storyline in a direction you don't want to go in right now, but my training and instincts as a dramatist tell me this is the perfect time to bring it up  I don't actually plan these things for Grim, even though it might look like it; I go with my gut on her storylines, and pray to God I don't piss anyone off. Let me know if you disagree, and I can edit it.
  14. Grim nods glumly and gets to her feet, favoring her left ankle a little bit as she surveys the chamber; she shakes and clucks her tongue. "Oh man, this is gonna be tough. God, I wish I had a way to contact Nanowire; I bet he could bust us out of here in two seconds."
  15. Grim shakes her head and smiles. "Mmm, don't worry about me, I don't get cold; I mean, I might in space or even the upper upper atmosphere, but if I can see the ground, I'm fine." She lays her head back into the crook of his arm and closes her eyes, and in a minute she's softly singing 'Fly Me To The Moon' in an untrained but not unpleasant voice. Fly me to the moon And let me play among the stars Let me see what spring is like On Jupiter and Mars In other words hold my hand In other words darling kiss me. As she gets to the end of the first verse, she begins to trail off, until finally it's clear she's fast asleep... ;)
  16. I'll be 40 on July 31st; did I speak in haste?
  17. Okay, I assume we would drive around in something like an unmarked Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (ah, the old Crown Vic!), but this begs a rather important question: who drives? This says a lot about the relationship between two cops, which also makes me want to ask, just how well do we know each other? Have we worked together for a while, or is this our first time partnered on a case together? BTW, I'm fine with Morena as either driver or riding shotgun ;)
  18. Grim nods at Nano's announcement. "Okay, yeah, we gotta get you out of here." She moves to join him by the door, and then turns back to yell in Jawbreaker's general direction. "Sorry about your massive abdominal injuries! I hope you get better, and, y'know, learn your lesson and stuff! Take care!" 'Take care?' Lamest superhero exit line ever. She shakes her head and laughs. "Okay, so can you fly me to the moon or whatever? Or I can show you my secret hideout, but all you'd be getting is a Diet Coke as a nightcap. Plus you would have the honor of meeting my three cats." She shrugs. "Or, the night is young; there's always time for karaoke, or a flight around the skyline or something." She starts worrying at a bit of combat schmutz on his exoskeleton with her thumb. "You know I'm flexible."
  19. Nice justification for RQ's crappy roll, MBCE :D
  20. I think we can leave it at that. Thanks very much, MBCE, that was a blast, and I really look forward to seeing where this story leads us.
  21. Grim carefully places her stack of papers on the sofa and shakes her head with a grin. "I hate when he does that; such a showoff." She picks her way through the mess over to Monty, steps up on tiptoe and gives him a quick peck on the cheek. "You take care now, and leave the worrying to us." She smiles and pats him on the arm, and then disappears just as suddenly, though her voice lingers in the air with a hint of laughter. "Hey, I never said I wasn't a showoff, too."
  22. Dude, that is awesome! The sign is indeed a very nice touch :D
  23. Yes, because he's allergic to freedom and justice!
  24. Happy belated, EF! Hmm, does this mean I'm the 'Old Man' of this website? Maybe I should buy a rocking chair and take up whittlin'...
  25. Congrats on the big 2-1, C! I have to admit that to me drinking lost some of its appeal once it became legal, but you kids today seem to have your heads screwed on right ;)
