  1. "Max? Noh... I dunn-" It was again Luke's turn to be taken aback. "I mean... no one summoned me. Nor I know this person you are talking about." He growled back. That was... weird? Definitely there was something he did not understand going on around there. If Eye had set me up I'm gonna freakin' eat him... Well. Much likely not. Eating people was a big no (plus... pretty yucky) But that would have definitely been tempting. "Put me down eh? We should see about that..." He exhaled a small puff of flames, to better state the point. Nightscale glance briefly shifted toward the men on the bridge of the vessel. Now they didn't look exactly like innocent sailors didn't they? "Avoid doing anything you would regret down there..." He growled. "I will be back with you in a minute-" OOC- Nightscale would be kinda distracted for a moment by the people on the ship if Chimera wants to use it as an opening.
  2. "Really smooth..." Luke teased his friend beneath his breath... Unsurprisingly perhaps Leon bravado didn't exactly help in defusing the situation. "Look there are two cubs..." The man chuckled. "And both feel like they are in dire need of a lesson..." The other bikers all stood up from their chairs. When Lacey tried to intervene, Luke 'reassured' her with a "No need. I bet you we are not gonna be the one getting lectured here..." Which the bikers replied to with a chorus of colorful expletives as the waitress rolled her eyes and retreated toward the counter. As the men surrounded the two boys any hope of resolving the issue outside also evaporated...
  3. Nightscale winced. "Terrorizing. No I..." He replied, more than a hint of surprise in his voice. Well... admittedly it was not like a dragon was the most reassuring of sight, that he would have to admit it. It took him a short while to recover his composure, but then he continued. "On the contrary. I am guarding this place." He objected, his tones shifted again to the more threatening 'big dragon' speak. "Do you think I'd allow anyone, to blow things up on my watch?" He growled again as his gaze shifted briefly toward the vessel, although the flying woman appeared to be the biggest threat at the moment, he wasn't gonna allow two goons with bagful of explosives being out of his mind for too long.
  4. Nightscale Golden Glove 7 Let the bodies hit the ground 5 Paper Trail to the city of sin 4
  5. A part from an enhanced sense of scent, that I imagine is not exactly a boon when there are dead bodies around. Luke has the ability to sniff for treasures and to intuitively understand what a person want most (although not in high detail), again by scent, I am not sure if this power would work on someone who is dead... But he will give that a try, in case he caught something important. Super-Senses 5 (Greatest Desire Awareness; Descriptor Frequency: Very Common; Sense Type: Olfactory, Default: Radius, Ranged; Extras: Acute, Analytical) {5PP/36} Super-Senses 5 (Valuable Object Awareness; Descriptor Frequency: Very Common; Sense Type: Olfactory, Default: Radius, Ranged; Extras: Acute, Tracking) {5PP/36} Nightscale has skill mastery on both Notice and Sense Motives at 20 if needed.
  6. "Aquaria! Hey! Happy to see you as well f- Yeah." Luke gave a warm smile at the deep one waving back enthusiastically. Although the grin on his lips died a little when he realized that the friendly deep one was carrying another victim. "F-... How... Where did you...? Damn!" ---- Luke gave Carter a cocky smirk when the more senior officer allowed him and Diamondlight to pass. Perks of being a superhero, or actually being with one. Sorry man... In truth, the boy didn't have a massive sympathy for the police, although some officers were ok people... He nodded when August vouched for him. "Yeah we are workin' together..." He added confidently. "And like he said. We can't let this stand, a killer on the loose, if we can bring our talents to help." Unfortunately, without knowing much about the victim or the killer, he didn't exactly have many tricks at his disposal. Although maybe his inhuman senses would allow him to catch some extra that could escape the attention of normal people. It was macabre perhaps, but he did direct his knack for finding treasures toward the victims, at least, if they had any, the scent would help him cover the stench of death, that his enhanced senses could do nothing, but pick up. In fact, he was already feeling a pang in his stomach. Definitely I don't need to throw up... F---
  7. At least they will be busy scurrying away from me rather than blowing up the boat... Yeah, assuming that no one does it by mistake... Which was always a possibility with people running around with explosive in the dark... Damn! Nightscale golden eyes peered into the labyrinth of crates stacked on the bridge of the Lost and Forgotten, glowing faintly in the dark. "Where are you hiding?" He growled, as he searched for the guys with the explosives. First thing first, he needed to get the one that could blow everyone else to kingdom come. Then he could think of the rest. "Get the hell off my ship!" He lied, but perhaps those goons would get an extra motivation to leave if they thought that the vessel belonged to a scary ass dragon. "And all will be alright..." Yeah somehow, he doubted that the 'reassurance' would work. He was about to swoop in to try and snatch at least one of the gangsters with the explosives when he caught a hint of movement nearby. Massive silvery wings? Was it a bird? A plane? No wait... definitely wasn't that? Flying monster? Angel? Demon? A woman? What the hell was she doing there? Now, of course, it wasn't really a stretch of his imagination to believe that Blowfish had someone with super-powers working for him right? Or at least he had hired one, after the casino heist. "Who do we have here?" He half spoke, half growled, as his attention shifted toward the newcomer. He roared again, golden light filling his mouth as he pretended to be about the breath a weave of fire.
  8. "Never met him in my whole life." Look stared down at the man, dismissively. "Look. We don't want any trouble here..." While his posture remained relaxed, the young man cracked his knuckles and smirked. The biker didn't seem particularly impressed though. "Look, the cub is jokin'" The man laughed and his friends quickly joined him. "Any help from your own amazing people skills man?" Luke whispered to his friend as the group was distracted. Now of course, either of them could probably clear the diner of a gang of common bikers without breaking a sweat. But well... thrashing the place didn't feel like... Plus they were on vacation. Luke would have much likely left Nightscale at home...
  9. If it can help Nightscale in dragon form has +17 to Intimidate. With skill mastery that's a 27.
  10. Baseball bats... Woah scary. Luke smirked from his hiding space. The gun's weren't going to be much of an issue either, his hide was pretty much impervious to anything, but some serious military grade stuff. Yeah. Again. Piece of cake. Wait! What's in the bags... Damn! His eyes widened, freakin' explosives. Those could be an issue. Collateral damage and all. And... Definitely no dragon breath around those guys... Yep... Not that he was eager to start a fire at the docks, of course, but from his experience a bit of a pyrotechnics was frequently pretty effective in convincing common crooks to back down. Whatever. He could not let the Blowfish goons blow up the Lost and Forgotten. Ominously named or otherwise. Besides someone could still be on board. Oh well. It was time for a bit of theatrics. Quietly, Luke shed his human form. Once he was ready the onyx scaled lizard stretched his wings and flew the small distance that divided him from the vessel. He searched for a place on the ship that felt like could sustain his weight, although, he had decided that, in case he failed in finding one, he would just start flying circles above the group. "Isn't a little too late for romantic stroll by the docks?" The dragon grinned, exposing rows upon rows of fangs to the group of goons. The solid gold of his eyes reflecting what little ambient light there was and a hint of smoke filling his lips.
  11. "nks..." Luke replied with a soft smile when August seemed to recognize his reputation, a hint of pride gleaning in his eyes. "Maybe..." The smile turned into a smirk at the mention of the Casino Heist. "Robbin' is such a nasty word though..." He continued playfully. "Yeah, so I have heard. A killer on the loose. That's not gonna stand. Not here. Not anywhere." Luke subtly clenched his fists. Not for much. Yeah, they are gonna put that sick bastard behind bars. They had to. "Than I'd be one whole cent richer." He chuckled lightly, although the humor was a grim one perhaps if they were betting on death. "Yeah let's go." He nodded, then sighed loudly before following Diamond Light toward the scene of the crime. Now, unfortunately, despite his young age, Luke had seen death already, it was unavoidable perhaps, given his line of work, but that didn't mean that the young dragon in human skin took it lightly. "I know her by the way..." His gaze shifted to Aquaria. "We fought Nazzi- I mean, like World War I zombies in a sub together... Ah and there was a witch as well..."
  12. “Make yourselves at home.” "Thank you Lacey..." Luke nodded and gave the waitress a friendly smile. “My friend here’s trying to put on a little extra weight.” "One of us has to." The young man grinned at his friend's playful teasing. "Yeah, it'd do, two of those." He smirked. "And Leon what are you gettin'?" "With chips and an ice cold bee-..." Lacey's disapproving, but still gentle, gaze reminded him that, well neither of them was old enough of drink. "I meant coke. Thanks." He smiled again warmly at the waitress. Now of course, the Luke's fake Id was quite believable and 'somehow' he was sure Leon's papers were as well, but there was no need to cause problems. --- "Boy..." A gruff man interrupted the two nineteen years old. "Wh-" "You have some courage in showing your face down here..." The biker continued, his gaze shifting, ever so slightly to the grinning tiger tattooed on Luke's shoulder. Now Luke couldn't be sure, but it almost felt like that this guys's bull themed gang had some beef with one who used a tiger as their symbol. Great...
  13. Docks... six thugs... Easy... Piece of cake. Luke nodded as he checked the infos that Eyeball had provided. For an omniscient mastermind, it wasn't exactly much. It'd have to do. Plus Luke's dad worked at the docks and well, it was one more incentive to keep Blowfish's goons out of the area. A mysterious ship... Lost and Forgotten. Spooky name... The captain (or whoever named ships, Luke wasn't actually certain), must have had a bit of a dark sense of imagination. In truth he was more than a little curious about its content. Luke had quickly donned his costume, that was still nothing more than his costume and headed up toward the dock, jumping between rooftops, dragon wings propelling him in the air. After finding a position where he could survey the Lost and Forgotten on top of a nearby building where he could dominate the scene and, if possible, catch the crooks in the act.
  14. "We never got the chance to introduce ourselves... But I kinda figured that we are in the same business." The young man had a cocky smirk on his lips, as he closed the distance between them with the hands in the pockets of his sweatpants. "And I don't mean casinos..." "Luke here." He smiled as he offered August a confident handshake. "Some people know me with a different name as well." He lowered his voice to almost a whisper. He was in his civilian identity after all, for now. "The Soutside Dragon is at your service." He added a moment later without raising his voice. "Or Nightscale..." "I'm here here to help. Not sure if my... talents... can be useful for catching a freakin' murderer..." He was after all more suited to beating them up, but he did have an ace or two up his sleeves at last. "I mean... it's the right thing to do."
  15. "You know what I meant..." Luke shook his head, but the smile didn't leave his lips. "And don't tell me that your suit could not be used as a weapon..." Yep, fortunately he had managed to disable it before Grabber could use it, though. "Yeah... sure, I imagine that it is unavoidable when you are fighting. But I have met a few vigilante types..." Well that was a bit of a white lie, but at least he had learned about them in school. "They don't care who gets trampled in their crusade, or how much people get hurt and that's not something I will tolerate." He continued confidently. "Ah and obviously, no killing..." There was no need to add it? Right? "I can't, but what I can promise is that I'd do anything in my power to avoid innocent people getting hurt." He replied with conviction. Again, he considered himself lucky having attended Claremont, after all a very similar dilemma to the one Eyeball had suggested. "And I know I can't be anywhere... Nor save anyone." He added, the young man ruffled the hair on the back of his neck. While his voice, was as confident as before, the boy wasn't truly as adamant in his conviction as he wanted to show. Yes he knew, but in truth, he wished he could always be there... At least for his people. "But that's not a freakin' excuse not to do what I do..."
  16. "That's great as I was not planning to share just half of it with my people." Luke smirked again. Although he really had no idea yet about how to do this, especially in a way that would avoid repercussions from the mob for the beneficiaries of this 'donations', but at least not having to fight Eyeball for it was a start. It was his time to pause though when the man offered him some sort of alliance. He hesitated, looking thoughtful. Could this guy be trusted? After all, his motivation seemed somewhat noble, although, much likely there was vengeance rather than altruism behind his actions. "Yeah, sure. We can work somethin' out." He nodded a short time later. "But a few things must be clear, I don't want anyone getting hurt, no superweapons given to criminals... Oh and I would not be your lackey, any plan of yours, I want to know it, no secrets."
  17. "Damn!" Luke clenched his fists when he realized the the woman was nowhere to be seen, managing to elude even his enhanced senses. Now, the boy was unfortunately not unaccustomed to the scent of blood, but that didn't mean that it wasn't distracting, or worrying. In fact, a shiver ran down his spine as he surveyed the scene. Convinced that he had done enough to survey the scene, the young man decided that it was time to change approach. He needed a way in. Now, maybe Aquaria would have been more receptive, but then again, she was a about to enter the water beneath and there was little that Luke could do to help there. There was always the guy from the casino... Perhaps... "Sir?" He stepped closer to the police line, calling for Diamondlight. "Remember me? From the Casino?" He tossed, trying to meet the man's gaze. "Maybe I can help?" He offered, letting his eyes fill with the solid gold that revealed his supernatural lineage the moment they crossed with Diamondlight's ones.
  18. "Somehow I did not expect that you were gonna give me the real one." Luke smirked. "I hadn't myself after all..." "A nickname will do, for now... Eyeball... Fine..." He nodded as he studied the man, trying to get a glimpse of what made him tick... Are you lying to me buddy? He thought as he did his best to bank on whatever ability to read people that he had picked up on the streets, combined with a bit of dragon magic. "I don't mind the mobsters and corrupt scum being bled a little." He chuckled. Not at all. Especially if the golds ends up somehow in the hands of the people of the neighborhood, that was, after all, his plan with the loot. "What I do mind, though... is if the violence spills among my people..." He continued, stressing the 'my' perhaps a bit more vehemently that he would have wanted. "That's not something that I can stand for..."
  19. Nightscale is gonna try to sense if the man's intentions are honest. He has sense motive at 20 with skill Mastery if that is needed. He is also using another of his magic tricks: Super-Senses 5 (Greatest Desire Awareness; Descriptor Frequency: Very Common; Sense Type: Olfactory, Default: Radius, Ranged; Extras: Acute, Analytical) Fundamentally he is capable of catching by scent what a person wants the most.
  20. Luke stepped into the shack, his senses alert to the surroundings. Straight out of an horror movie. Still the guy inside didn't feel like the typical maniac, nor like a mad scientist hiding in the woods, to be honest. Appearance, though, could be deceiving, after all, Luke didn't look like a bus-sized winged lizard either, most of the times. "Nice to meet you, doc... I didn't catch your name by the way..." He replied as he walked in, minding his steps, just in case there was some kind of trap lying in wait. "How worried you should be... depends on what are your plans. I kinda don't like people giving super-tech to criminals in my territo- I mean neighbourhood, you know?" Although, to be honest, he didn't mind too much if that kind of stuff was used to rob mobsters, but then again, with that kind of stuff in the streets, things could get dangerous very fast.
  21. "Challenge accepted, man. I mean... Can't say no to an easy win... Speaking of which... wanna bet somethin' on it?" He suggested playfully. Now, he didn't have anything specific in mind, yet, but perhaps, Leon was up to for the challenge. The diner they stumbled upon was little more than a rundown shack nestled on the side of a dusty country road. Its neon sign flickered intermittently, spelling out "Biff's Diner" in red letters. Peeling paint adorned the façade featured, one side of the building, was fully decorated with graffiti, dominated, in particular, by the stylized head of massive black bull. A couple of rusty, vintage gas pumps stood sentinel by the entrance, seemingly barely operational. There were no cars in the asphalt lot surrounding it, but it was not, in truth empty, it's sole inhabitants being a row of Harley Davidsons, many of which heavily customized. Inside, the place had a sort of rusty charm almost straight out of a movie set. The scent of smoke and grease almost overwhelming to Luke's dragon senses. The walls were adorned with decades' worth of memorabilia – faded posters of classic motorcycles, yellowed newspaper clippings, a bull skull and worn-out license plates from every corner of the country. A friendly, albeit world-weary, waitress in a pastel uniform bustled about, pouring beers for a group of burly bikers perched on worn leather stools by the counter. A jukebox in the corner played a country song neither of the boys could recognize and a small row of dusty arcade games and gambling machines lined up on one side of the building, while two well kept pool tables, occupied what little other space was left between the maze of tables and stools. OOC: There you go, feel free to add whatever fun quirk you want in the scene as well Including who the patrons are.
  22. Luke smiled as he witnessed the arrival of Sea Devil, a familiar face, finally, perhaps he could find a way into the investigation with the Deep One's support. After all, they did fight nazzi-zombies together right? Besides, she was not the one he could recognize. The sharply dressed guy from the casino! It was a bit of a weird coincidence that he was there on another scene of the crime. Now unfortunately, the boy hadn't yet had the chance to pay a visit, despite the man's offer... but maybe this time... Still, perhaps it was better to wait until the crowd has dispersed before making his presence known, after all, there was always the chance that he could spot someone by staying in the shadows. Speaking of which... That couple... there was something wrong about them. Perhaps they were just onlookers, but still... It wouldn't hurt to take a look... He was about to head toward them, as discretely as he could, before his eyes glanced toward a young woman... There was something... off about her. He couldn't tell exactly, but the feeling was enough to get the hair on his neck to raise. "Wait stop..." She like... vanished in front of his eyes. Now of course it was just a sensation, but he needed to know. He reached for the last spot that he had seen the woman disappear and then searched the crowd for any sign of her presence.
  23. Getting close to the shack was easy, a bit too easy in fact if you asked Luke. Then again, he had no way of knowing if he had found all of the sensor and alarms, or if one had been tripped by his presence. Whatever. He needed to have a talk with the mad doctor, assuming that the fellow was ever there. Throwing caution to the wind, the young dragon landed in front of the cabin. "Knock... knock..."
  24. Still with that massive grin on his lips, Luke barely managed to catch the keys and enthusiastically jumped in on the driver side. "Let's go!" He shouted as he let the engine roar a couple of times, before heading toward their adventure. --- Freedom City had already vanished past the horizon and the two boys were now navigating a country road, Highway to Hell blaring from the old radio of their time-worn, but still glorious, as far as Luke was concerned, ride. Not a cloud in the sky... That was, of course, not going to last... OOC: @Spacefurry Sorry for taking a while to reply. Anything fun you'd like to do for their first adventure?
