  3. That'll protect anyone from being seriously injured by flying Cutlery at least! Get in that IC post!
  4. (Golden Star) "I agree. The Axe seems like a good plan. I've dealt with a magical crystal that gives people super powers and it usually turns out that the people who have weird magic weapons and things like this often have the ability to track or scan it. If they want it back, when they see these two didn't manage it, they'll send someone else after it." he was pulling on his own knowledge from things he'd seen, but the truth was he was only making blind guesses in the dark. He smiled at Officer Morris, though. "Ah, we're just doing a little teamup. They're fun, right? After all, aren't we all on the same team when it comes down to it." he waved his hand a bit. "As for what happened...well, we found these two attacking a van; it seems like someone had stolen that Axe from their boss, who sent them to get it, but the people in the van fled before we got here. These two are quite dangerous, at least to me and people who aren't as strong as me, though it seems like they were less than a match for Shooting Star."

  6. 1d20+12 = 14, truly a roll like never seen before at least it's still an improvement on he average persons defense, I think...
  7. Even if they aren't approved I think the numbers are right so it's fine to use it until we get them confirmed. @Kaede Kimura just one roll is fine. For everyone else, go ahead and post some IC stuff too The Punch missed, but distracted the werewolf from attacking anyone. Puma's intimidation is keeping it focused on her instead of the civilians. And depending on Harlequin's roll it will protect the people from flying cutlery and angry tables and chairs!

  9. While still waiting on getting my updates approved, I'll go ahead and roll Initiative and getting 15, damn. Puma will use Intimidation to distract the Wolf, getting a 21
  10. Do you want me to roll Deflect, and if yes how many times?
  11. ]Initiative: 1d20+3=21 and as right now I'm playing Wack a Wolf! Attack Roll: 1d20+8=10. Or maybe not...
  12. Initiative! 1d20+8 = 20 Can Harlequin use Deflect 12 (Shield of Silver; All Attacks 3PP/Rank; Extras: Range [Ranged]; Feats: Triggered 2; Drawbacks: Power Loss 2 [When unable to speak and gesture; Frequency: Common]; Flaws: Limited [Only Deflect Attacks Against Others]) {36/36PP} (Light, Silver) as a full round action to Deflect attacks against the crowd?

  14. Shooting Star Alice smiled bemusedly at Golden Star's willingness to let the gang members go, nodding when he stops and defers to her, "We clearly have bigger things to deal with. They can go." The gangsters don't seem to need much more encouragement and flee post haste. Alice had to admit that she also didn’t like that they were apparently just now hearing about some supervillain big enough to be tossing mercenaries around through the streets after magic axes, and nodded at Golden Star's comment about thinking of how tp go after them. "But how are we supposed to go after a guy we don't even know the name or face of?" She looked over at Rage and Ruin, the latter of whom was already shaking his head. "Even if I knew, I ain't gonna make the mistake of crossing 'im. I don't have a death wish." Ruin said, while Rage stayed silent. "Well in that case our best bet is probably the axe. If the villain took it once, he'll probably try to do so again." As she finished her statement the first police car rounded the corner, a total of three pulling up before the fight scene. Six officers stepped from the cars, the first of which apparently recognized the pair of heroes, and he approached the heroes while the others began securing the scene and the villains. "Shooting Star, Golden Star. I'm Officer Morris. Didn't know you two were a team, although I should've guessed from the names. Can you tell us what happened here?"
  15. GOSSAMER II In response to Renee's description of her abilities paused in her unpacking, and frowned slightly. "'Trichokinesis?' From the Greek, 'hair movement'? I suppose." She shrugged and then returned to her task. "From where I come from, I'm just called 'Gifted', like the other noble houses." For a while, the blonde metahuman worked silently unpacking, although she occasionally hummed to herself, or absent-mindedly played the keys of an invisible keyboard with her slender fingers. But once she saw Renee's collection of bottles and liquids, her eyes lit up and she sat upon her, arranged gracefully upon the comforter. "That's very interesting; are you an alchemist? My uncle practices the Art as well! What substances can you produce?"
  16. Slipstream "Yeah, spreading out sounds like a good idea." Lynn replied to Renee’s suggestion on how to try to address the whole situation with Gookgak. But before the blonde teen could add any more, Kadene spoke up, yelling to get the attention of everyone. Lynn was not entirely certain about the story with Kadene or her twin brother, but she had heard talk they were from some alternate dimension. The blonde teen regarded the other girl somewhat sternly. "You want to be bossy, that's all fine, but save the threats." She stated before turning away. "Come on Mattie, no sense standing around debating what to do." Lynn added before heading toward one of the exits from the pre-fab building.
  17. GOSSAMER II "Good afternoon, Lawrence," Estelle replied with an amused smile and a slight bow, clicking her boots together. "And good afternoon to you, milady," she stated as she offered Lacie a deep bow and a flourish. Reaching into a pouch on her belt, she pulled out a wrapped bundle. "I brought carrots and sugar cubes for us to offer the magnificent beasts, more than enough for us to share. Shall we seek them out?" It was genuinely unclear how much of Estelle's speech was her playing a character, and how much was just her being her aristocratic self.
  18. @MoonSimply @Supercape @Tiffany Korta @Kaede Kimura instead of a full combat for this moment, I want to try a 'skill check', so to speak. Tell me either one skill you're using to help something here (Helping people escape, wrangling the automated tables and chairs, stopping the witch, stopping the Werewolf), and roll either a skill or an attack alongside your post. The results of the rolls will determine what's going on in the combat that starts afterwards. Don't feel like each person has to pick a specific thing; do what feels natural for your character and I will adjust as needed Roll Initiative alongside your 'skill check' though so we can be ready to start combat on my next GM post.
  19. (GM Post) Chaos and Claremonters! Mayhem and Monsters! Civillians fled away from Superheros and Monsters, as the witch was casting 'spells', which really seemed more like a combination of fireworks and animatied objects as tables and chairs came to life, dancing a macrabe dance. The Werewolf was rather aggressively booped on the snoot, and it tumbled face over teakettle, knocking drinks and food into the sky and dousing the food court in abandoned, half eaten lunches and drinks. The witch skirted about, but when Aiden spoke to it, it seemed almost unaware; could these creatures not even talk? Perhaps they were simply mindless automatons. Miss Del Gado disappeared in the flurry, hopefully gone off to her own escape since she had no powers, as security guards joined the fleeing civilians in trying to get away; peace officers in Freedom knew when it was time to get out of the way and let the spandex brigade handle it. And yet, for now, whoever the rabbit was seemed to have disappeared in the Chaos.
  20. (GM Post) What kind of criminals were bold enoguh to break into a building to make it a distribution hub for their drugs? Ones with- presumably- deep pockets and a lot of product to move. In a few weeks, this same area would host the Magic the Gathering World Championship, the area filled with Magic players and fans from all across the world watching the action or participating in side games. But right now, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, in the big entryway, there was jostling and moving of crates. Dealers lined up at plastic tables handing off money and getting tickets, then getting shuffled to the side where they were given marked crates of bottles of that liquid gold, then they quickly left. Some took small orders, some took big orders, but there were easily hundreds of people all together between the workers and the dealers buying product. All of it was being overseen by a dark-skinned man in a heavy fur coat- despite the heat- sitting on the balcony on the second floor and flanked by two heavies, watching the proceedings with a grin. "Come on, come on, you know we don't have this place all night. Turn in your purchases and buy your new product people; Liquid Joy's only good for a little while. But don't worry if we run out, there's always more tomorrow! So hurry up and turn in your purchases." For now, between the Void and the fact Luther wasn't trying to be anything, no one had noticed him slip in. But if he did something drastic, it was likely they would.
  21. (GM Post) "Now now, I would never bare steel so unseemly." Captain Hook said, twirling his mustache around the hook that had replaced his hand. Even the way he stood belied a way of noble bearing; one foot forward, one dragging back, cocked in such a way to puff out his chest and give him a strong, baring standing. "I believe so truly in fair competition, you see, it'd be poor form to do away with all the peculiarities." He looked to Smee. "Go on and call all our boys back, Mr. Smee, the Captain has requested it, and we are on his territory." The heavy Smee nodded, and the floating dinghy began flashing signals with it's lantern again, which the big ship responded with a few bells and horn calls. The roving bands of pirates dutifully stopped their pillaging, returning to their Captain and slowly forming a circle around the group. They began to stomp their feet and clap their hands, hooting and hollering. The Captain was a refined gentleman- or maybe he just acted that way-, but his pirates were roustabouts and ruffians for certain. "Now then, Fortune Favors You, eh? We'll see. I happen to believe that Fortune favors the bold, but there is a Providence reserved for Fools, Imbeciles, Drunkards, and Children." he flashed pearly white teeth. "So let's see which is which. Do you have your own dice, my Captain, or do you need to borrow some of mine?" he produced 6 dice from his jacket, as white as ivory and pips as black as ebony, but the side with one pip was replaced with a grinning skull. Why was he so insistent on playing by the rules when the conflict would be much easier? Especially if the conflict seemed inevitable. He had just been pillaging and stealing, and now he was slavishly playing by the rules, or trying to.
  22. Stormchild Kadene threw back her head and laughed. "Noble sailor?" She made a show of looking around. "Where could one of those be? There's only despicable pirates here." She laughed again. This was someone fun. "Do they even have a nunnery in this city, O Horned Liar? It's been so long since I've teased a nun." This one, on the other hand. "Don't be boring." But on the gripping hand. Ugh. Being banned from returning in the future would be...annoying. "All right, listen up!" She was First Mate of a crew of pirates. She knew exactly how to get the attention of a large group. "We're going looking for a small green boy. He's kidnapped a grown man, somehow. When we find him, he's getting a boot in his backside for his idiocy in doing this. Mademoiselle Renee has a solid plan and we're following it. So spread out, or I'll spread you out!" At that, her hands crackled with energy, and the wind suddenly howled for a few seconds before quieting to normal. Yep, definitely a pirate.
  23. Serendipity and Stormchild Riel sighed internally. And everything was going so well. "As unfortunate as it is, my friend has a point. It's difficult to assume you're negotiating in good faith while your crew continues their work all around us." He raised his sword from his side to rest on his shoulder. "If you want to play a game of chance with a man favored by Fortune, that is your decision." At his side, Kadene mimicked his pose with her sword, with energy crackling in her free hand as a bonus. "However, I would ask that your crew stop robbing everyone in sight during the game. Alternatively," And at last Riel grinned his bold, insolent grin. "we can stop pretending to be civil, and start beating all of you senseless."
  24. Serendipity Riel pondered the situation. Perhaps there'd been some small misunderstanding. "Monsieur Owen, Aquivan has rules as well. They may have been set by the wealthy aristocracy instead of the common townsfolk, but they exist. And as nearest I can tell, they exist in both places for much the same reasons. To restrain those with the power and courage to seize their destinies with their own hands. A shackle made for the benefit of the people is still a shackle. My sister and I went to sea to escape such shackles." He did not yet shake Owen's hand. "I don't want to give you the wrong impression. I gave my word of honor as a man and a Captain. I will cause no major incidents." He seized Owen's hand like it was made of gold, and grinned ferociously. "However, friend, if you expect me and mine to toe the line in all respects and be good little citizens, you are suffering from some rather fascinating delusions." He released Owen's hand and casually flopped onto his bed. "Well, it's certainly more comfortable than my hammock." His grin was absolutely insolent.
  25. Harlequin Harlequin could not resist wincing as he leapt to his feet. It was hidden by his Glamour, but he would not be shocked if he had quite the scorch on his shirt and a welt on his torso. Still his grin returned as he sauntered up to where the large man was pinned by Were-Jack. They had offered him the chance to surrender, and so it was time for him to be instead defeated. "<My how heartily thou must weep, to know that victory is not thine to keep, the cost of failure is surely steep. But I am afraid that for all you have sown, it is mine to reap.>" A weapon of shadows grew in his shadow as he spoke, which he then seized. As it passed into the light a scythe made of pure darkness was revealed for the briefest moment before he swung, the shadowstuff farm implement driving into the man's side. It was not a physical blade, there would be no blood. But the damage was quite real.
  26. Emerald Spider As the scanner did its stuff she got her Spider Phone and sent a quick update to those heroes she knew. Unlike the bigger cities, superheroes were rare enough that everyone more or less knew each other. And that meant they could share information relatively painlessly. She gave a quick version of events, leaving Kessler out for now, including where the car was right now! With some luck, one or two might be sorted out before she had to worry about them, but right now, it was triage—deal with the biggest threat first! Leaping into the air and firing off a quantum thread she quickly made her way to the University district and a showdown with this Speed Racer!
