  1. An HP award to you, then, Cape!
  2. You are up, Cape. Feel free to post everything that Pitch did, including her round 1 action, if you like While technically possible to save against a DC24, the chances are pretty small, and I'd have to roll concentration, so I won't bother. Instead, I take 10, and the mutt botches its save and gets pummeled to death! However, I do have to ask that you make a Stealth check, in order to move around the wolves without making a sound. Notice check vs Concealment Move: 1d20+6 7 Good news, you won't have to try terribly hard, and even if you fail, an HP would guarantee your success!
  3. GM Post "G-Gotcha! Be careful, Boss!" Billy said, as Carmen stepped out of the bicycle. With the Elephants behind him and the wolves in front of him, he turned left, then started pedalling, as fast as he could. The wolves noticed this, but for the moment, they seemed more fixated on the fiery visage of Pitch. Letting out a low snarl, one that begun at the bottom of their jugular and went on to the jugular of their prey, five of the winged abominations took flight towards Pitch, barring their fangs, and along with them, their intent. Pitch, for her part, seemed to be expecting their response, as she summoned unholy fire and smoke that burned the plants and trees nearby, and submerged everything inside it to complete darkness. The wolves seemed disoriented, unable to sense their foe by means of sight or smell, but they did not stop their advance, and 4 of them struck true, burrying their knifey teeth on Pitch's left hand.
  4. Round 02 Pitch: 21 (5 HP, Bruised, Total Concealment vs Visual + Olfactory) <- Current Turn Hellhounds: 21 (Minions, Unharmed) x8 Elephants???: 11 (Minions, Unharmed) x3 Pitch is up. Hailstorm Weather Pitch Traits
  5. "Wha-?" Vyrdnaya barely had a time to react, before it was too late and she was surrounded by the force construct. "Aw, you spacetrawling Glomsworm and Ricketbeetle!" she cursed in her native tongue, the tongue civilizations thriving under the rule of the Delaztri Empire had adopted, albeit peppered with local Akarnean dialect. She once more powered up her hand-cannon, ready to rupture the wall in front of her in twain. "You think I'm gonna let a frazzling wall block my way, you're sorely mistaken, you floatboating Quarkspark!" she swore in her impotent rage, as she let loose a blast that produced a few cracks on the force field, but otherwise was unable to create an opening for her to escape. "... Anathemas!" Perhaps a different approach was called for. In Galstandard, she spake "Cavalier? Traveller? Dragonid? I've been... forced out of this fight, and I could really use some help getting back in right now!" She pleaded to her teammates.
  6. Mater Vyrdna Standard Action: Mecha Dragon Head Cannon whatever's ahead of her. Plasma Energy descriptor. DC 25 Toughness Save (DC20 Reflex halves) EDIT: Because i seem to have forgotten Free Action: Spend an HP to fight off the fatigue from Power Stunting.
  7. Round 01 Pitch: 25 (6 HP, Unharmed, Delaying Action, Readying Action) Hellhounds: 21 (Minions, Unharmed) x8 Elephants???: 11 (Minions, Unharmed) x3 Hellhounds Move Action: 5 of them will fly towards Pitch, while 3 of them will not act this round. I am assuming you mean that Pitch uses Hot Smoke to obscure the area. The Concealment works, but the Hellhounds do retain a good general sense of where Pitch was last standing for this round. Standard Action: Combined Attack using Sharp Bite. Concealment Rolls vs DC11 (total Concealment): 5#1d20 17 2 15 14 17 4 out of 5 make their concealment checks. Attack roll: 4#1d20+5 17 24 22 23 3 attacks connect, so thats DC20 + 2*2 = DC24 Toughness Save for Pitch. Elephants??? ??? Billy will ride his bicycle away from the hounds and stampeding... Elephants(?!). He is safe... for now! Hailstorm Weather Pitch Traits

  9. Jerry took Atraxia up on her offer, and joined her in her tour of the place. So different than a typical earthen structure, this place seemed... lighter. As if it was designed for someone weighting 10 kilos, not 60 kilos. It all seemed so etherial and floaty and... alien. But not completely so; he could see there were plenty of similarities to the architecture of terran buildings. It was just alien enough. Mystified by the look of the place, Jerry stumbled a few times on his way to reach Atraxia. When he reached her, he listened to her suggestions. "Well... you've got me at a disadvantage here. I honestly couldn't make a sound judgement, so... what the hell, let's go to the Lab first!" He exclaimed, with some excitement to his voice. At this point, no thought of his paper and its subject could enter his mind.
  10. Let's roll for some initiative: Initiative Roll: 1d20+3 21 Initiative Roll: 1d20 11
  11. GM Post Billy nodded, and was about to go back to pedalling. However, trumpeting could be heard in the distance, and the ground started to shake, as if a pack of elephants were stampeding just a bit off to the distance. "Uhhh, boss? Is that the sound of elephants? What the hell do elephants are doing here?" The few birds that had been in the nearby area, all decided that it was more prudent to weather the hail than stay where they were. Unfortunately, their journey met a sudden and immediate end, as hound wolves suddenly leaped an incredible distance, snatching them in the air, and devouring them in one gulp. They landed about 200 feet away from Carmen and Billy, and on closer inspection, they appeared to be sporting bat wings, and their mouths exuded a green-hued breath that seemed corrosive to everything it touched. Still in the distance, the stampede went on.
  12. Hearing Paradigm's comforting words greatly boosted Vyrdnaya's confidence, a fact she tried her best to hide, only managing a small nod. She frequently felt the need to address her senior fellow Praetorians by title, largely because she still felt she hadn't earned the spot, she hadn't earned the right to stand alongside her heroes. When Galvanic transmitted her body to the room, she was taken aback by surprise. Given Vyrdnaya's own predelection of unnaturally appearing out of the floor or the computer or whatever other mean available she could use, it was a rare occurance for her to be on the recieving end of such a spectacular entrance. "Wow! You're here!" She stated, shocked. It wasn't often that she went wide-eyed. But there you have it. "Wel-welcome, Galvanic! It's, uhhh, we'll be counting on you!" She nodded at Paradigm's plan, nevertheless, after catching herself. "Acknowledged, Imperiatrix. If there's anything you require of me specifically, please let me know!" Corona's comment made Vyrdnaya smile wryly, and she responded. "And you've certainly proven yourself time and again that you stand with us, Corona. That's why I'm proud to have your back, obstinate though it may be." She then added, with a more cheerful tone on her voice, as Corona was about to make her exit. "But don't be too late, or we're leaving you behind!"
  13. Mater Vyrdna Alien engineer who fused with a spaceship, becoming capable of controlling machines in the process, and joining the order of the Praetorians. Playlist Mater Vyrdna Theme Song (I am a Praetorian): Air Man (Rock Remix) Haunting Memories: Good Fight Tension: Alien Champion Dogged Pursuit: Keep Moving Proud Fight: Kisei Unrestrained Struggle: Nazo Space Dogfight: Hanran-gun History Vyrdnaya Solnys-Kori Milareth was born into a relatively wealthy family in the Akarnia Planet of the now long gone Delaztri Empire. Despite having had all comforts available to her, Vyrdnaya had nevertheless managed to grow into a responsible young woman, and through her studies, she quickly developed an interest in engineering. While she'd frequently have arguments with her parents, who were far too oldfashioned for her liking, she held them both dearly. After graduating from college, she decided to enlist in the Delaztri Empire's military, wishing to join the exalted ranks of the Praetorians. Unfortunately, she couldn't meet the recruitment standards for the Praetorian guard, and instead was enlisted as a regular military personel instead. Service in the military wasn't easy. An unfortunate short-lived affair with a fellow officer left her pregnant, and her parents, who weren't very supportive of her being a lowly military officer, forced her a choice; either marry Jihiskh Mavon-Kuros Ainour (an old university colleague of Vyrdnaya who was making rounds in the field of interconnectivity), or refuse to give her any further support, lest she decided to quit the military. Caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place, Vyrdnaya aqcuiesced to the marriage, after reaching an understanding with Jihiskh, who was also being forced to the marriage by his own parents. The marriage finalized, the two returned to pursuiting their respective careers, and Vyrdanya eventually gave birth to Solmav. Despite all setbacks, Vyrdnaya's engineering talent didn't take long to shine through, and she was being steadily promoted in rank, eventually becoming Lieutenant Commander. Things were also looking up for her, vis-a-vis her marriage, as Vyrdnaya and Jihiskh found themselves warming up to each other, and eventually falling in love. Their newfound relationship led to the births of Triinareti and Tormug, and the five enjoyed the next 15 years, not as strangers who happened to be together out of necessity and convenience, but out of love and understanding. During this time, Vyrdnaya was eventually transferred at the ship that she would serve, remaining there for three years, before the Communion attacked. During the climactic battle, the Warp Engine of the Delaztri ship was severly damaged. Vyrdnaya ordered the other engineering crewmembers to evacuate the engine room, while she stayed behind to ensure that it would remain operational. A sudden explosion caused the warp to go haywire, and Vyrdnaya got caught in the surge of energy that teleported her inside the fusion engine. This was a death sentence... or it should have been one. Instead, Vyrdnaya's body was infused with the ship, deep inside its engines, and her consiousness was left wandering the ship's network, with no way to escape or interract with the outside world. Until one day, the Praetorians, not long after being revived in the present, discovered a strange subroutine that was running in the background of their ship. After a few Giga Cycles (roughly months, by Terran calendar standards) of trainning in combat and in her powers by the senior Praetorians, Vyrdnaya joined the latest battle against the Communion, in an event that would be known as the Incursion. Having adopted the monicker "Mater Vyrdna", and as an honorary Praetorian, she would help the allied forces to storm the Communion Mothership, and shut down its communications systems, dealing a massive blow to the Communion Hive-mind. With the Communion's destruction, the allied forces would go on to establish the Coalition, and the Delaztri survivors would go on to reinstate the order of the Praetorians, electing Paradigm as their Imperiatrix, and formally inducting many new recruits, Mater Vyrdna among them. Ever since, Vyrdnaya has found herself a new home, and a new purpose; to honour her fellow Praetorians' faith in her, and to ensure the protection of theirs and their ideals. Costume and Appearance Mater Vyrdna's body has been fused with random mechanical parts, with various patches of blue colored flesh serving as proof that she once had been a purely organic lifeform. Especially standing out, half side of her kneck, and the upper-left part of her head, are comprised of machinery, while her fin-like ears and her blue tail betray her heritage as an Akarnian, and a Meso-Akarnian at that. Her medium-lenght hair is coloured Hazel Green, same as her eyes, and it is tied in a knot. She dons a pair of glasses, mostly out of habit. Mater Vyrdna's form, and specifically, the mechanical parts of it, is often subject to change, depending on the situation, such as materialising wings, transforming her limbs into weapons, or even her entire body melding into an external machine. In fact, most clothing she is often seen sporting are fabricated from the same techno-organic substance that her body is made up from, and fashioned into shape by her own will. Powers Mater Vyrdna can control machines. This includes, but is not limited to, reconfiguring and transforming machines at the merest touch, granting them sentience, and exerting mental control over them. These powers apply even to her own body, allowing her to shapeshift her limbs into rayguns, hammers, laser swords, rocket launchers, drills, etc. She is able to meld with machines, allowing her to transfer her body through them. Finally, she can directly communicate with machines. Allies The Praetorians are Mater Vyrdna's foremost allies. They are in fact the closest thing to a family to her, especially the ones hailing from the fallen Delaztri Empire of 2000 years ago. Of those, special mention goes to: Paradigm, who is the elected Imperiatrix, the highest ranking Praetorian. Firm yet reasonable, Paradigm has taken quite well in her new situation, and often strives to help Vyrdnaya in her adjusting as well. The Traveler, who played a pivotal part in helping Vyrdnaya by reassembling her consciousness, helping her materialize a body, and helping her in adjusting in her current life, powers, duty, and all that entails. Moon-Moth, Elite, Kharag, and Dragonid, Senior Praetorians who take an active role during missions alongside Mater Vyrdna. Magnetar and Seresk, Senior Praetorians Since the reestablishment of the Praetorians, many new individuals have joined the group's ranks. Mater Vyrdna's stance towards them is more ambivilent, given that they lack the connection to the Delaztri Empire that she and the Senior Praetorians have. As such, she is often cold, dismissive, or aloof to them, a deliberate attempt on her part to disassociate herself from them, to not form attachments with them, and to ensure the safety and well being of the Delaztri Praetorians. However, when duty calls, she is willing to set aside her differences with the new Praetorians, and work with them in order to accomplish their given objective. As a side effect of that, she seems to have formed a great deal of respect, and a good working rapport, with the following non-Delaztri Praetorian allies of hers: Cavalier, bounty hunter, Star Knight, and eventual Praetorian, his professional demeanor and take-charge attitude quickly won over Mater Vyrdna's respect, and she always relies on his tactical insight. During battle, they frequently end up watching each other's back. Corona, fellow Praetorian and Lor citizen. Corona and Mater Vyrdna initially exhibited an initially antagonistic behavior towards one another, due to their respective partiotic loyalties. Overtime, however, they've both come to trust one another on the battlefield, and even enjoy their confrontational rapport with one another, which has evolved into more of a friendly ribbing contest. Queenie and Huhunu, fellow Praetorians Galvanic, Tempestian intergalactic superhero. Galvanic is a conduit for wild and, at times, barely restrained electrical energy, and as such, poses a constant risk to Mater Vyrdna's health and well being. As such, Vyrdnaya tries to keep her distance as far as possible from Galvanic. Upon Galvanic officially joinning the Praetorians, those efforts grew increasingly unsuccessful. (Sidekick, HQ, Etc) Timeline 2014 Autumn Ghost in the Machine: The Praetorians Paradigm, Traveller, and Moon-Moth, are enjoying a rare instance of peace and lull amidst the Incursion aboard their ship, the Devotion, when a consciousness that has been trapped inside the ship's network starts making its presence known... 2015 Spring Incursion: Only Hope: Mater Vyrdna, Seika, Moon-Moth, Temperance, and Citizen, are planning an assault at the Communion Mothership. Their goal, to shut down its communication systems, and critically cripple the hive-mind the Communion operates under. Praetorians: The Deadly Dozen: The Incursion had ended, the Communion was no more, and the Coalition between the Lor Republic, the Grue Unity, the Star Knights, and the Terrans had been forged, to usher the surviving worlds in a new era, an era of peace and prosperity. In its wake, the Delaztri surviving Praetorians, under the blessings of the Coalition, reinstated their order, with a newfound purpose, and an influx of new members. Paradigm, elected as the Imperiatrix, the highest ranking Praetorian, and fellow Praetorians Traveller, Moon-Moth, Cavalier, Mater Vyrdna, Dragonid, Kharag, Corona, Huhunu, Magnetar, and Seresk, all head off to the Dreeda system, on their first official assignment; capturing 12 of the deadliest criminals known to the galaxy, a group of Lor Republic's convicts who benefited from the Incursion and escaped captivity. Autumn Praetorians: Sovereign Right: Praetorians Cavalier, Moon-Moth, Mater Vyrdna, and Seresk, aboard the vessel Kavaca, head to the Galor System, to investigate the increasingly aggressive actions of Pirate Dovox, self-styled "Sovereign", an opportunist who claimed himself a piece of the pie that was the Stellar Khanate, after the weakening of the Star Khan during the Incursion. The planet Galor III soon finds itself under siege from one of the pirate's warships, but to the pirates' surprise, the planet does not stand unprotected; the Praetorians are joined by local superhero Shell, as they tackle on the forces of Dovox in a fight taking place on both the surface of the planet and in space. 2016 Spring Praetorians: Zealots: For months, the Praetorians, allong with their Coalition allies the Star Knights, have been hunting down the Spectrum Knights, sworn enemies of the Star Knights. Having lost key parts of their leadership, the disarrayed Spectrum Knights proved a disjointed, if yet persistently hostile group, requiring the Praetorians to expend increasing amounts of resources and manpower to apprehend the rioting villains in the 14 corners of the galaxy. Currently, Praetorians Corona, Mater Vyrdna, Elite, and Magnetar, are joined by the newest Praetorian recruit, Earthling superhero Queenie, to investigate the sighting of Spectrum Knights in the Vanor System. However, things aren't wont to turn out routine, as the Spectrum Knights may be beaten, but they are not defeated! Revanche: At the Point of a Sword: As the Revanche is about to commence, Ambassador Draan Raal, an envoy of the Star Khan, arrives at Kestevan 79, the heart of the Coalition, requesting an audience with the Coalition Council. Weakened though the Star Khan may be, both in physical stature and in hegemonial power, the Lor officials nevertheless suspect foul play from their long-standing enemies, but are nevertheless willing to humor them, at least until they can get a good picture of the situation. To that end, they employ the aid of the Praetorians Paradigm, Corona, Elite, and Mater Vyrdna, currently stationed at the CoVic Station, in order to safely escort the Khanate ambassador, safely, that is to say, for all parties involved. Additionally, the Tempestian intergalactic superhero Galvanic joins the escort mission as well, on Paradigm's request. The sword has been unseathed!
  14. Vyrdnaya melded into her seat, until she completely submerged into the Kavaca, leaving Seresk alone on the bridge. She ran her consciousness throughout the ship, until she found the connecting lines between it and the Capital Pirate Vessel. Now merged with the new vehicle, she scoured it, in order to find a place she could safely materialize into. Remembering the communications with the Pirates' leader, she sought the bridge, materialising there only to find that the pirates had hit the floor, being completely disoriented. "In the name of the Praetorians, and by the authority of the Star Knights and the Coalition, surrender peacefully, or prepare to feel the hammer of Mater Vyrdna!" She shouted at the pirates present there, while waving her right arm, which she had morphed into a hammer.

  17. Tou saves vs DC25: 1d20+12 28 Easy peasy, sez Vyrdna
  18. "Perhaps it is as you say. After all, it was not the empire that saw me fit to serve as a Praetorian, but you did. Forgive me if I spoke out of turn, Imperiatrix Paradigm." Vyrdnaya apologised to the Naram. Back then, she would have trusted the empire with her own life. A fact that she did prove when she thought that she had sacrificed herself to save her fellow engineers and give her crewmates a fighting chance against the Communion. Now though... things were different. The Delaztri empire was no more. In the wake of their lost home, the surviving Praetorians sought to find a new one here, serving for the common good of the Coallition, and all those who would fly under its banner or seek its protection. But as for Vyrdnaya, her new home and loyalties lied quite a bit closer than the entire galaxy, or even the CoVic Station; it lied with her fellow Praetorians, especially the ones that came before her. Those were her home, her family, all that was left of her world. And she would gladly give her life for them, thrice over than what she did for the Old Empire. It was at this point, that Galvanic's image materialized in the room. Truth be told, the static that the Tempestian was emitting was reacting with Vyrdnaya's own mechanical parts. In fact, she could feel her entire skin become electromagnetically charged, and not in a metaphorical way. She reflexively backstepped, as Galvanic came into view. "Eh, umm, greetings, Galvanic." she uneasily said. "You are, uhhh, most welcome to help!" She flashed the Tempestian a fake plastic smile.
  19. "Copy that, Cavalier. I'm bringing the Kavaca in. Mater Vyrdna out." With that, Vyrdnaya punched some commands on the control panel, before grabbing the pilot stick and using it to maneuver the Kavaca over the pirate capital vessel. The enemy spaceship was spinning wildly out of control, so she had to time her approach with as few errors as possible, given the limited window for mistakes she had. "Hang in tight, Seresk! We're boarding this giant piece of space scrap." She had the Kavaca spin on the same rotation as the enemy ship, trying to match its movements and speed, to better make for a smooth landing. "Steady... Steady... Streaaaadyyyy..." And make it she did, as the Kavaca landed on top of the enemy pirate capital ship with nothing more but light tremors. "Aaaand done! Get ready, Praetor Seresk, you're taking over the commands of the Kavaca!" She informed her allly.
  20. After discussion in the chat Pilot Roll: 1d20+7 23 Using this to move within boarding range of the ship, with Mater Vyrdna's delayed action from the previous turn,
  21. Fire was the word of the day, as numerous blasts, both friendly and hostile, rained upon the battlefield. Both Mater Vyrdna and Cavalier came under fire of the enemy. "WATCH OU-!" Vyrdnaya tried to warn her ally, but she was a second too late. Thankfully, only a single shot managed to graze him, but she wasn't sure if it was a flesh wound, or a deeper one. And she could nary spare more of her attention to her teammate, as soon trouble came looking for her, in the form of a hairy beast. She barely managed to put up her guard, as techno-organic matter from the back of her black jacket shot up and covered her arms, reinforcing them with something that looked like a malleable metallic alloy, at first sight. "Hey! Careful with those. You could put someone's eye out!" She commented, as she resisted the pressure behind the furious slash of her opponent. "Zadvian, right? There's a couple of dead Lor bodies floating in space right now. You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?" Mater Vyrdna asked, not really expecting a reply. Meanwhile Traveller arrived at the scene, just in time to become yet another target for the armed criminals, though Dragonid followed soon after, returning fire in the process. Just then, Cavalier came up with a request. "The heavy artillery..." she peered through her guard, spotting the criminal who bore the anti-vehicle weapon in question. She noticed that he was flanked by a plenty more criminals. She smiled. "Consider it done, Cavalier!" At once, she applied pressure to force her opponent off her, transforming the protective alloy to metalic dragon-looking wings, that looked big enough to cover her entire body, while her left hand had been morphed into a handcannon that resembled the head of a robotic dragon. With her wings extended, and a triumphant pose over Zadvian, she declared "Sorry to leave you hanging there, I'll come finish our talk in a bit." Headed towards the criminal, she avoided the incoming fire by expertly flying around the incoming blasts she could dodge, and using her wings to slap aside the blasts she couldn't, until she started straffing. Getting herself into position, she opened fire with the Dragon Cannon, unleashing a burst of plasma energy on the move, that took out the fight out of all 7 of her lined up threats, while using her Mecha Wings to both balance her flight and absorb the shock of firing a big heavy cannon laser beam on the move. She'd made sure that the intensity of the beam would be just enough to cause intense pain and some vomiting. She then signaled at Cavalier with her right hand, when the deed was done. "Target down!"

  23. Sighing a breath of relief, Vyrdnaya felt her shoulders relax. "Good. Now to finish up with the big hulking ship." She commented, her finger touching lightly on the firing trigger. The pirates have had their fair share of warning, which they summarily dismissed, effectively declaring war on the Praetorians. Furthermore, it didn't appear, by the looks of it, that they were willing to raise the surrendering flag, even though horribly outgunned at this point. But nevertheless... Clicking her tongue, she releashed her grip on the trigger, and activated the Kavaca's communications channel on the ship with Kyle. "Cavalier, do you copy? This is Mater Vyrdna speaking. Thanks for taking care the spacecrafts. The big one is also pretty much done for. Our safest course of action would be to keep up with the concentrated fire and take it down, before its crew has time to repair its functions. This might kill a significant number of these pirates, though. And while they did declare war on us, and don't seem particularly intent on surrendering... I dunno, whaddayathink? Feeling up for some storming the enemy stronghold with me? You know, get aqcuainted with the leadership, get good and personal with them." She messaged her fellow Praetorian.
