  1. The people of Paris were still waking up when they started making their way through the streets of Paris. The Temple was a dark looming shadow against the pre-light of dawn, from the street the place was an imposing structure. As planned Constance when first, leading the guards away from the gates, with what Rene knew was the authority of the Committee of General Security. Soon the two guards followed to help Constance to subdue the guards. This left Rene and the Countess free to make their way to the room where Rene knew the young Prince was being held.
  2. Rene had spent a little while around Constance and was beginning to be able to pick out her subtler facial movements, the advantage of a painter eyes, a could see a flash of something. He wasn’t quite sure if it was regret or even sadness but it was there. “I might not be able to have much influence on what happens to the Countess, I’m just an agent of the Republic. But l will I’ll try to stop them doing harm to her. Gallia will survive in some form whatever happens, I’m more concerned about the woman she inhabits.†She gave a small smile, her face a mask again. “But as you say the time for words is over let’s do our bit for France.â€
  3. The Countess seemed to agree with Rene as she summoned the rest of the crew to discuss the plans for invading the Temple and freeing the Prince. It was amazing to watch the Countess question Constance; it was obvious that she didn’t trust her completely, and for Constance to answer the question without revealing anything important. Eventually it was decided that they should keep the numbers downs to avoid drawing two much attention to their rescue. Constance along with two others would disable and subdue the few guard stationed at the Temple, whilst Rene and the Countess herself would rescue the Prince.
  4. “Here you’ve made that cold, let me heat that back up.†She took the mug from his hand “I can work a Microwave you know.†As she walked to the corner where all the supplies lived she carried on talking. “Maybe it’s me. At the height of the fame I lost it a little, no wait a lot, I could have anyone I wanted. I thought nothing of spending a night with a guy and then just throwing them aside. After all it was just a bit of fun, what harm could it do?†she handed the rewarmed coffee back to him "Now drink it whilst it’s hot.†She took her seat again and picked up here mug.
  5. Whilst inside Blodeuwedd was chuffed with Medrauts compliments she didn’t show it, it was how she had been trained to deal with the world. “If anyone can unravel this puzzle then those from the Order can do such a thing, I assume this poses a threat to if not the country then at least Conwy.†She waved her team to her side “If all fails I will attempt to escape to those who are friendlier to the order, though I doubt I’ll be able to free the Afanc in such a case. But I’m thinking of the worst case scenario, let’s hope fate is on our side.â€
  6. “Ah but a pawn that makes it to the other end of the board become a Queen.†She seemed to be lost in thought and as she spoke her voice lost it strange echo “A simple village, a girl named after its most famous inhabitants. We cheered when the Revolution came, the corrupt noble overthrown a new start for us all. But the new regime was worst, cruel more violent drunk with power. The girl called on aid to stop those corrupting the values of the revolution.†Again her voice took its strange tone “So we came and aided the village, we did not oppose this change, countries always change, such is the nature of such things. But those here in Paris feared us, so they created another cut us off from the spirit of the land and the people we protected.†She seemed back to her normal self “So I must overthrow this Revolution, regain my place in this world, release the upstart and begin anew.â€
  7. She placed the pallet down with the others and looked at the rapidly emptying trucks. The driver was watching them work with a bemused look on his face “Well we’re should be done here soon, just a few more to go.†She clambered back up for another pallet. “I couldn’t help but notice you didn’t answer the question, I hope you don’t figure that I’m going to become a villain and use my knowledge against you.†She gave a bright grin “Sorry in my previous life I was a lawyer, which some seem to consider evil these days, so I tend to notice these kinds of things.â€
  8. She never been quite sure how she could but Lucy could blush, something she did now. She had never considered herself pretty and still didn’t totally believe people, but it was still nice when people told her. “Why you old charmer you.†She gave him a broad smile “But I’m nothing special. It seems that my look has fallen out of fashion, at least among most people†she glanced towards a couple of pale teens preparing to enter the theater. “But I find there are two ways to deal with changing times. One is to embrace it, to soak it all up, enjoy the new. Not that you need to abandon the old. Or you retreat into the old ways, and grow stagnant and possibly bitter. I’ve unfortunately meet people like that, I can’t help feeling sorry for them.â€
  9. The Countess gave a smile “A painting of myself on the eve of a great challenge, that could made the difference to our cause. Yes I think that would be an excellent idea. They say a great artist captures apiece of the soul of the sitter. Are you that good Rene?†She stared into space for a few seconds, lost in thought. “Why am I doing this? Sometime it’s in revenge for the King… or for the loss of place in the world… my place being stolen by another… and sometime it’s for a village stolen by a greedy Revolutionary.â€
  10. Could you all give me Notice Rolls please.
  11. “Ah yes I suppose I do on a bit too much. Well I managed to complete my dimensional device and return to my own world. But after spending a few months on another world my mundane existence seemed well mundane.†“I tried wondering world for a while, that’s where I picked up this little thing.†She waved her hand around at the ship “But after the challenge of my daring escape even this seemed to pale in comparison. It’s rare to meet people who can truly challenge intellects like ours. But then I hit upon an idea, I assume you’ve read the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle?â€
  12. “Well time travel cleans away all known germs guaranteed.†Even her humour sounded a little forced in such a sick alien environment “Of cause we’re being watched, we’re going to meet Jenkins friends, who don’t exactly trust outsiders at all.†she gave a little sigh “But we need Broken Crow’s help and that means we need to stop this Madame Malaise. Which means we have to gain these peoples trust. †after a moments though she gave a smile, more genuine this time “Time to turn on the charm I guess, luckily we’ve got that in spades.â€
  13. With a subtly movement of her head she shooed Gail away, she trusted her not to repeat anything to anyone else. Except maybe her friend Stephanie and she wasn’t sure how much she trusted her. She wouldn’t be surprised if this meeting turned up as a rumour in one of tomorrow’s tabloids. She kicked off her shoes and tucked her feet up, sitting down she was fine, and if anyone was going to notice her dramatic change in height it would be Asad. “Well apology accepted.†She paused to take a sip of her coffee; she couldn’t kick her flare for the dramatic. “But why exactly are you apologizing to me? We had like one and half dates six months ago, what makes me so special?â€
  14. Lucy set her face into a look of grim determination, well if that was there game so be it. She carefully and deliberately spelt out her own address to the guards around her. “I’m sorry about all this; I really didn’t want to cause any trouble. Please bill me for any damages, though I suspect I know the owner.†This would take careful timing she would have to ignore the Guards assaults if she wanted to get the two vampires by surprise. But she didn’t want any of them to get hurt; they were just doing their job after all. She simply forced her arms forwards, hopefully pulling down the two guards holder her. “Please don’t try shooting me with those.†She gestured to the Tasers “They don’t have any effect on me, and someone might get hurt.â€
  15. About an hour later Merge summoned Asad to outside the unassuming building where Ephemeral Entertainment. The Merge who meet him earlier was subtly different. Her suit was substantially cheaper and slightly crumpled her hair, normally immaculate, was slightly disheveled. She also carried a bundle of papers and folders. “What do you think? I’m your hassled assistant, this is what normal assistants look like when dealing with the likes of you.†Her smile suggested she wasn’t entirely serious, she leaned in to whisper in his ear “I've bought Camera Obsura along, he’s invisible but not intangible. Just pause enough at doors to let him pass, I’ve told him to brush you as he passes so you know he’s through.â€
  16. Lucy returned the smile “I try to judge people on their own merit, and so far I see nothing but good thing from you. But I’m from what people call a simpler time, not that it seemed that way when I was living through it all.†She lifted another of the pallets and jumped down from the truck. “One advantage of my condition is that I never tire, but that does mean I forget that other people do. Just let me know if you need a break. I’m not quite sure what you’re capable of, it seems people are more interested in what you get up to than what you can do.â€
  17. “Well the initial experiment was for the advancement of science, but once I arrived at in this new world I was banned from continuing my experiments. They feared drawing attention from other more hostile worlds. They wouldn’t even risk sending me home, though they knew how. So it was a lovely place of peace and harmony, but it was still a cage.†She paused for quite some time whilst she drank some Champagne “My only choice if I wished was to go home was to build the device in secret, and I wasn’t allowed access to the equipment I would need to build the device. So I had to resort to stealing what I needed, not easy in a world with such scientific wonders. It seemed however that I had a talent for such things.â€
  18. The Lenape also know as the Delaware are the Native American tribe that use to live in the area in the Prime Universe.
  19. “Oh this little thing I picked it up later, from those ghastly little Germans.†She gestured around her “No I’d arrived on a world of scientific wonder of beautiful cities of glass and flying machines. As soon as I arrived I was detained by the Science Police who bought me to the Science Council. They were warm and welcoming, providing me with all I could ever want. But I was informed that I couldn’t ever attempt to rebuild the device.†She looked both wistful and sad at her memories of the event. “It was a wonderful place, but I missed my home, family and friends. So I started to in secret rebuild my device.â€
  20. The General gave her two centurion a look before explaining <“Remember there from another world, and know nothing of the politics of this land. First we’re going to have to reveal military information, so I’m officially drafting you into the Auxiliaries. Congratulations.â€> she smiled and gave them all a salute <â€Brix will provide you with our radio frequencies and any equipment you require.â€> That done she gestured towards the Holotable. <â€Whilst our garrison is small we have a small number of tanks and attack helicopters, and if we need air support we can call on the Tiberious. The problem is where the second base is sited. This one must have been chosen because of the easy of generating the portal. That’s why we were able to secure the base so easily and probably why they haven’t check up on its radio silence. This base is on the border of our Roman claims on this land and those of the Lenape. Any assault on the base would probably be seen as an attack on the Lenape, it would lead us into a full conflict with a hostile power.â€>
  21. The house they choose in Paris was in the 3rd Arrondissemtnt near to the Temple itself. They just picked a house that suited there need and the Countess talked to the owners. Who after listening to her just allowed them all to take residence for the night. “That’s why we had trouble tracking there progress, there only mistake was staying at the Tavern to long.†Whispered Constance They house owners gleefully provided food and wine and the mood was generally buoyant, everyone seemed confident that tomorrow they would strike a blow against the Republic. As the evening drifted into Evening people drifted away on various task and Rene somehow found himself alone with the Countess. She smiled at him and gestured for him to sit beside her, before speaking to him in her strange double voice. “Ah Rene our newest recruit. You have such vibrancy so much life about you, more than enough for several lifetimes. You have questions? Well ask away, I shall answer as truthfully as I can.â€
  22. Blodeuwedd crouched down cloak around her, rain pouring down. For most people it would be a horrible experience. But for some reason she was enjoying herself, her she was in her element doing exactly what she was trained to do. She could have probably stay up her all night watching the ship, but it was an imperative to find out exactly what they were up to, plus tomorrow was a school night. Checking her cloak was still concealing her correcting, she fired off her grapple line and made her way down toward the ship to get a better look around.
  23. Blodeuwedd didn’t know why but she was pleasantly surprised by how successful her bluff worked. Sometime even she forgot that she had been trained to do this kind of thing, so long had she been playing the part of the warrior. Luckily there were other skill she still remembered having, those that would be most useful in these circumstances. <<â€Luckily I have some skills with security systems of all types. If the system is too esoteric for my skills I have other resources to call upon. It might be necessary to set a secured communication link with the outside world though, if you’re capable of such a thing?â€>>
  24. None of the crew seemed concerned with Starlights action, indeed it seemed to spur them all into action. "Yes your right. Computer initiate hostile actions on anyone who now attempts to enter the ship. Also all airlocks on a rapid recoding until I say otherwise." she gave a broad smile "That should buy you a few minutes to get down to the main airlock and come up with a plan. It's the only place without defences. Good Luck." With that she unslung her massive rifle and began directing her crew in defence of the ship.
