  1. Can I blow an HP to make him re-roll the save?
  2. Gwen moved closer to the shark Wisp was holding, watching the girl struggle to hold him. If you'd be so kind as to knock him out. Gwen directed the Vines to the shark. As they drew close bright lavender flowers blossomed on the vine and smacked the shark in the nose. "Oh!" Gwen realized that Wisp was rather close, and the vines rather rigorous and at the last moment was able to be sure she didn't smack her friend. "This should help!" she stated, watching the shark begin to fall asleep.
  3. Gwen couldn't help but smirk, Dutch. She didn't want to tell Zach and Jeena that she had spent a lot of time in Zeeland studying the effects of the climate change on plants there. Her mother had a love for Dutch Windmills also. Gwen could feel that something about the story wasn't right, but as she said everyone here had secrets, they didn't all have to come out at the same time. Gwen frowned at the last part, about people being left alive. "I lived in villages in South America, Asia and Africa, where it is a popular practice to sell potentially gifted children to richer families in larger towns." Gwen's face fell thinking about it and the chat she had with Brian about the same situation. "It sucks."
  4. We might have a problem... Being as savy a world traveler as Gwen is, with her combined knowledge of History and knowledge that it happens to children in poor countries (as notes in Hitting the Books w/ Brian) she's getting suspicious of this "dutch" cover.
  5. Yeah, the pollen is touch range, can't afford area yet :-p
  6. Gwen pulled her hoodie down past her hips so it covered the seat of her jeans. She folded her legs under her at the ankles and slid into an "Indian style" position. She pulled her hands out from inside the sleeves and started running her fingers through the grass. "I've got some time, and I'm feeling better than I did this morning." She pulled the string that held the hood around her head tighter, seeming to fight off the cool breeze as if it were icy cold.
  7. Gwen was very glad that the Vines were asleep. She didn't think she could take another round of excitement from them. "Since they... appeared--" Gwen couldn't find a better word for it. "It's always been them and me, no one else. They weren't even allowed to touch other people until we came here. No one knows about them." Gwen leaned her bare cheek on the tree. "To the world I'm Gwendolyn Barr, junior botanist and sustainable agriculturalist. Heck, my parents don't even know I can talk to plants and that has been going on since birth." Gwen closed her eyes for a moment. "They're asleep right now, like real plants they seem to need an active time and a resting time to properly function. They're getting smarter by the day, more inquisitive, more--aware. They're remarkable honestly." Gwen looked Zach in the eyes. "You've made yourself a mystery to them. The inquiring minds wanted to know how you got into our secret place."
  8. Gwen listened to Zach. He and Jeena had, since the first day they met, reminded her of a foreign plant among many natural occurring ones. He and Jeena reminded her of herself everytime she visited a new town. She once reminded herself that they WERE exactly like her, people visiting a new town but there was always something different about them. She smiled at his near word miss and listened to him continue. "We've all got secrets here, I promise."
  9. Despite the mask the woman had thrown her Gwen could not see through the fog that had rolled around them. She swore under her breath. We have to find one of them. Gwen stated and the Vines extended out from Gwen's legs, they snaked around the ground seeking a target. Branches split off covering the ground like a net. Finally they hit. It was Steelshanks and immediately the vines around her blossomed large lavender starflowers. The pollen from the flowers should have knocked someone out cold-- however it seemed that the large metal woman was not affected. "Shoot" Gwen let out when she didn't hear a thud.
  10. "I... You'd think a girl who lived in some pretty hot and hostile environments wouldn't forget to drink." Gwen shrugged. "I don't think that the Vines helped the situation much. We seem to feed off of each other and... I guess we will have to be more careful with eating and drinking now that they are active more often." Gwen put a hand on the tree they were next to and closed her eyes for a moment. Feeling the sleeping giant with her mind. She looked back up at Zach. "I'm sorry you thought it was you-- I mean, I guess it sort of was, you made the Vines curious and that made them more active, taxing our mind more."
  11. Lets go with that then!
  12. Gwen was dressed in a black hoodie, her hair hidden beneath it, she wore long blue jeans and a pair of brown walking shoes. She seemed to be bundled against the cool breeze that swept the warm evening. There were no vines to be seen around her, though the trees she passed seemed to reach out for her, almost calling to her as she went by. She walked over to the tree at a slow pace, bottle of Gatorade sticking out of her pocket. She finally approached Zach's place under the tree. "Hey." she managed.
  13. 1d20+10=28 to hit sharky DC20Fortitude save against being put to sleep.
  14. 1d20+10=21 SAVES! I'm blowing an HP to not take the penalty for cover if I can. If I'm allowed then 1d20+10=20 attack roll on Steelshanks for a stun effect DC20 fortitude (it's a sleep stun)
  15. I'm genuinely curious, does anyone else have one? if so what is the one thing you really want to do but just can't for some reason or another? My one thing is skydiving. I want to do it SO BAD but I'm absolutely terrified of heights.
  16. GM Nurse Joy sat at a desk, looking over a pile of paperwork, her pen scratching notes here and there. She didn't seem to notice Vicky come in. She lifted up her head and peered over small glasses to look over at Vicky from across the desk. "She's just over there, behind that white curtain. I assume you're the student taking her back to her dorm room?" Nurse Joy didn't wait for Vicky's response, she seemed to keep writing her notes while speaking. "She's dehydrated, and her poor vines are wilted as well. She'll need plenty of fluids and electrolytes over the next few hours. She keeps rambling on about the greenhouse..." the woman pursed her lips and seemed to consider something for a moment. "If she MUST continue its to be in a supervisory manner only! She is to stay in the shade and hydrated at all times. She's all yours." The woman didn't look happy at the idea at all. Before Vicky could take Gwen though the nurse cleared her throat. "I want to see her back here tomorrow to check on her and the vines."
  17. :toot: :congrats: :GreatJob: :applaud:
  18. Gwen could hear the sound of the gun firing again but the shots sounded like they went in the other direction. She prayed that the other person was not injured and she began to slink around. More of the Vines edged off Gwen's skin and crept out into the fog, feeling around for anything but finding a whole lot of nothing. Gwen found herself frustrated and swore under her breath. The Vines blossomed large pink star flowers heavy with pollen in the middle of them. She intended to knock these women unconscious.
  19. Rav, I'll take the miss on this one.
  20. "They are capable of lifting quite a bit but I have never really tested their limits." the pinned girl replied, rocking her body gently to test which way she should chuck Vicky off of her. She listened to Vicky continue to talk and Gwen laughed at the thought of the boys walking in. "Yeah, that would be priceless wouldn't it?" Gwen sighed. Since the episode while building the greenhouse things had been... strained was the nice way to say it. Well, I do not think they will bring each other pizza and soda anytime soon--but I think they may salvage a working friendship." the obvious reference to Gwen and the boys going over the girls head.
  21. Just too much going on in her head at the same time, combined with dehydration.
  22. poop, well then vs smoke (1d2=2)
  23. meh, Wisp can have fun with it. I'll hold my action.
  24. The vines drooped a little, like a scolded child and then released Zach. Did it AGAIN! they chirped and began their chorus of HHHEEELLLLLLOOO, are you still there? in Gwen's head a gain. The vines eased back towards Gwen slowly. Gwen shook her head, trying to dig through the mental confusion. She tried to nod her head in agreement but the lightheadedness took her over. Gwen's body went limp, she slumped to the ground only semi-conscious.
