1. Gwen kept edging into the soil and moving to no avail. "I'm trying to find a water line... Mr. Summers said it was here in this area. We need to find it so I can tag it." Gwen thought about that for a moment and realized it wasn't a full thought. "I need it marked for the groundskeeper. I'm going to get a rain barrel set up for the greenhouse but just in case of drought we need a hose line here." She looked up at Zach and stopped edging the shovel in. "You wouldn't be able to help would you?"
2. Bah, I will read posts with my glasses on now. Edited.
3. Gwen blushed at the offer and pulled her skirt around her, gracefully falling to the blanket like a flower pedal falls to the ground. "Thank you." Gwen nodded to Brian and arranged her skirts and hair around her so not to be sitting oddly on either. Gwen winced at the thought of what Vicky said about bad guys. The last thing she wanted was a repeat of the Green Freedom incident. She had her mask with her, as she always did, along with the green bodysuit that was now a staple under the short girls clothes. One never knew where danger could crop up. "So which of you maverick men picked this as our date today?
4. As Gwen sidestepped Vicky she answered. "Not much." Gwen turned on her heal to face her opponent who had sailed behind her and took a left foot forward stance, eyes locked on Vicky. Let me try this. she told the vines. "I have watched a lot of people practice, I've had a handful of lessons with martial fighters in the towns I have worked with." Gwen rushed Vicky for a grab but slid past the girl, just missing her. "I've done a lot of 'farm' work though, planting and tending fields, working in dense jungles, forests and other areas."

6. Gwen pushed her braids out of her face and took a drink of some ice water. She watched Zach arrive. "It's ok. Better late than never, You're just in time though! Pizza is on its way and we should have plenty to eat!" The vines decided they wanted a break of their own and set out, moving outside Gwen's skin like odd projections. Some curled around in her hair, others flowered on her hands but still under the skin. As if they weren't there Gwen grabbed a shovel and dug down a little away from the greenhouse, edging grass up but then moving to another area, then another. Almost as if she was looking for something in the ground.
7. Everything was happening just too fast. Gwen was distracted by the shots flying by. She noted several that ripped through the car the other person was hiding behind. Gwen saw an opportunity and she swung out at Targeter. Out the corner of her eye she could see Steelshank trying to get back up but the short redhead couldn't do anything about it at that moment. "Murderer!" Gwen cried as she let the vines wale on the woman to no avail. They overshot their target and frustrated Gwen even more.

9. DONE BY SHAENTHEBRAIN I updated some things like Gwen's ethnicity, which is not just white. Added an alternate form container to her living tattoo powers, added a healing AP to plant control, also super strength. Moved her Drawback into the container since it applies to the vines, not Gwen herself. Added a few feats also. Waist length brown hair with red highlights, an almost double for her mothers, frames her face with thick cut bangs. Her pale green almond shaped eyes she inherited from her father are almost never adorned with makeup and her slightly tanned complexion never has need of foundations or coverups and a gentle, natural, rose to her cheeks is all the blush she requires. When fighting crime Gwen has chosen a light green on dark green color-scheme, she also dislikes capes. Power Descriptions:An inherited mutation caused Gwen to be born a flora-path. She has spent all of her life communicating with plants. After getting a “temporary†henna tattoo of vines it became a permanent addition to her physical aspect. The living tattoo can sprout from her body in the form of green vines which act as additional limbs. History: Gwendolyn Barr grew up in a small town outside of Boulder, Colorado. Her parents, William and Andreina were both college professors at UB college. Her ability to converse with plants had never made much trouble for her. She simply kept her conversations to herself, as she grew she was appreciative of the fact that her ability to talk to plants was mental, not verbal. (People tended to think one was nuts if they were having a serious conversation about life with a Fir Tree out loud.) Gwen had attended public school until 2002 when a wildfire consumed her families home. Young Gwen awoke to her father ripping her from her bed and attempting to carry the small child to safety with his wife in tow but falling debris pinned her mother and left her father unconscious. Then only seven years old, Gwen was alone, trapped and scared as the fire grew hotter, the smoke grew thicker and the world was consumed by black. The family had been rescued by firemen but there was severe emotional trauma to Gwen when it came to nightmares about being trapped by fire. Gwen had seen photos and herd stories for years about her parents travels to far away lands, exploring areas many people never had gotten to, teaching all they knew to people in need. Gwen had always been fascinated by these stories. One night while saying with her godparents after the fire she asked her parents “Why don't we just travel the world together, like you and mom did before I was born?†There was much debate, but the Barr family decided to do just that. For the next Seven and a half years Gwen would travel with her parents, learning all that they could teach her. She met the most peculiar peoples with the oddest customs. Most normal, though some had powers. Usually only small things, some villages didn't allow people with powers to live there, still fearing that they were possessed or evil demons. In the summer of 2009 when Gwen was Fourteen she received a henna tattoo. A temporary body art ink made from crushed leaves of a Lawsonia inermis plant Gwen's henna tattoo mutated into a living tattoo. The living tattoo was comprised of a base flower, a giant Starflower that doesn't change shape and several vines that can change their appearance. The tattoo can move across Gwen's skin like water and be on any part of her skin. After a short time Gwen learned she could comprehend the tattoo like any other plant, and shortly after that the vines began to be able to exist outside her body (while still connected to the base flower). Gwen decided not to share this with anyone, not even her parents. The tattoo often hid, covered by clothing where no one would know of its existence. In 2010 while on a trip to Africa Gwen was cave diving and had an accident. Her lead rope had snapped and she was falling. Just as her life flashed before her eyes the vines leept from her body and attached themselves to the cave walls, they pulled Gwen to safety. It was after this amazing act that Gwen decided she could do so much more. After some research, and some conversations with some ancient trees in the rainforests of the amazon Gwen got in touch with Duncan Summers and applied to be a student at Claremont. Personality & Motivation: Gwen has a naturally adventurous personality, a drive to work hard and desires to put her abilities to positive use for the world. Powers & Tactics:Gwen's original power manifested as Florapathy, the ability to communicate with plants. Her skin is also more durable than normal human skin which she refers to as her “bark skinâ€. Her living tattoo is a sentient being in itself that is learning and growing every day. Its appearance on her skin can be that of a normal henna tattoo with the ability to tint itself, but when it extends itself outside her body the vines are green or other colors. Through practice she has learned that she can do a great many things with her new friend. The vines from the living tattoo can grapple things, hit things, and have the most peculiar flowers which can nauseate people into vomiting or knock them into a deep slumber. They're about as strong as Gwen is and being an extension of herself exist technically as one. Damage to Gwen damages the vines and vice-versa.

Complications: Family: Gwen's parents mean the world to her. Fear of Fire: Gwen has a paralyzing fear of being trapped by fire, she often has nightmares of the day her home burned down. Living Tattoo: Living Tattoo is just that, living. It moves on the skin and has a bad habit of producing protruding flowers, extending tendrils and generally running a muck. Say what?: Most things Gwen says while talking to the vines are in her head but sometimes things come out that aren't supposed to. Secret:Identity. To the world Gwen is nothing more than an extremely smart botanist. 10. Yes! Gwen cried to the vines as the metal woman hit the floor. Lady go boom! The vines said excitedly as Steelshank went down. Tracker began to run towards them spraying Gwen's area with bullets. As she and the vines gracefully dodged the onslaught of attacks she pondered her next move. Smack her too! The vines cried as they lashed out at Targeter but their excitement combined with Gwen's mental directions confused the vines and they tangled in eachother, missing the woman totally. Damn!

Gwen sat in the computers lab and looked at the screen, the dull flicker of fluorescent lights around her skewed the colors to appear more blue than they were. 'Year one-Self evaluation' titled the page she was staring at. Sighing she pushed her bangs away from her eyes and set her fingers to the keys. The first question popped up: 'Where are you from?' Everywhere crossed her mind. "Lakewood, Colorado" she spoke into the microphone and pressed the enter key. 'How would you describe yourself physically?' Gwen let out a deep breath as she mused over the thought. "Short and curvy." she answered but before she could push the button a small green tendril reached out from her shoulder and tickled her ear. "Unique" She added. 'Is this different from how others would?' Gwen's mind began to drift for a moment. A blur on her vision snapped her back to reality. An iridescent red and pink flower floated in front of her. I'm fine, really. “Other people would describe me as withdrawn, more involved with my plants than with other humans.†The vine moved and the flower set itself on Gwen's hair as she pushed the button. 'Do you have distinguishing speech characteristics or recurring mannerisms?' “No.†The button clicked again. 'What is your motivation?' That is a really good question. Gwen began to run her fingers across the green vine that flowed across her skin, it leaped off her flesh there and played through her fingers like a snake. “I want to leave a good impression on the earth.†Click. A lifeless mechanical voice emitted from the speakers. “The next few questions will be two part, be sure to answer both.†'What are your greatest strengths'?' Gwen began to answer “My fam--†her voice cut off and she rubbed the corner of her eyes. “I'm blessed with an ability to help others.†Click. 'and weaknesses?' Gwen choked again. “My family. I'm not stupid, I know they can be a liability when it comes to getting involved in adventuring.†The vine at her ear brushed her hair back and the flower in her hair pulled back into the vine to vanish. The words We are liability? played through her mind. No, not you. You are a strength. she felt a rush of happiness vibrate through her body and smiled. 'What do you love?' The question was too much and Gwen giggled as the vines tickled at her neck “Nature, plants, green things, sunlight, rain, good bugs...†she slowed her excitement and reined herself in. Me, not you! she giggled, she was channeling the vines again. Click. 'What do you hate?' this time Gwen caught the rush of thoughts and images before they could verbalize from her mouth. “I hate when life is lost.†'How would you describe your mental and emotional state?' “Well enough--.†Another tendril clouded her vision. “It's weird, being settled in one place again. I miss the open jungles and valleys.†'What do you fear the most?' Images of knives, swords and other bladed weapons flashed in her mind but was fast replaced by images of fire and she felt like she was choking. “B-Being trapped-and-alone†she stammered out. Vine at her ear nuzzled to her neck, extended out and pushed the button for her. Click.'What is your greatest ambition?' “To do good for the world.†Click. 'How do you feel about the state of the world and your place in it?' “Wow, that is a huge question.†Gwen thought about it, the tendrils at her fingertips playing back and forth again. “I think that there is a lot of wrong in the world, and most of it we can't do anything about, but people like me-- us, we have to do what we can to make it better.†'Do you have any prejudices? How do you get along with others' “I've traveled the world, lived among many different cultures and types of people, supers and mutants, I'd even bet a few aliens. I believe I get along with people well enough, but honestly I'll stick to the garden.†A happy feeling pierced her and she smiled at the vines again. Click. 'Where do your loyalties lie? And in what order?' Flowers bloomed down her arms and rose from her skin. “What is right, with my family-- I don't know what I'd do if they weren't one in the same.†Click. 'Do you have a lover or partner? If so how do they feel about you now?' Gwen blushed seven shades of red and it showed in her vines that all sprouted small red flowers. The vines retreated back into her skin and hid under her clothes. “Wh-what business is that of yours!†Gwen attempted to click but the page stayed “Please answer the question Miss. Barr.†that dull mechanical voice came again. “I... I do not currently have a lover, nor am I actively in any relationship.†Click. 'Do you have a family? If so, what is the relationship there like?' The vines crept down her arms and flowered under her skin again. “My parents are amazing, wonderful people who have no idea who or what I really am.†Click. 'How would the people closest to you describe you?' “I think I should let someone else take the front on this one.†Some vines twined up through her skin. “Delightful, Healing, Kind, Super, WONDERFUL!†Gwen cut them off as she clicked. 'Are you a role model?' “I don't who for, I don't have any siblings." Click. 'How spiritual are you? Do you follow a religious tradition?' Images of green things eclipsed her mind. “I am spiritual but not religious.†Click. 'Are you part of a team, if not would you like to be?' “Not currently, but I would like to.†Click. 'Why?' “What an awkward question, why not? Why work alone when I could work with like minded individuals?†'How do you feel about the place of metahumans and aliens on Earth?' aliens? the vines showed her images of plants growing outside their native region. Similar, but not the same. “I think that as long as we're here to peruse the greater good, working together to make every world better what is the problem?†Click. 'If you could give one piece of advice to your self, what would it be?' Gwen honestly thought about it so hard she stopped breathing for just a moment. “I'd tell past me to keep running.†her face softened. “And future me to get us a good job.â€
15. The vines clamored with excitement, slithering across skin under Gwen's clothes. Make new friends? they asked Gwen. They liked meeting new local plants and had made a few friends among the town. "I'd really like to see the rose garden, but I also want to get a good spot. We can go see them during the intermission?" Gwen blushed a little and took Brian's hand. "Which way do we go?" Gwen inquired. She was pretending she couldn't hear the roses calling out to her, begging her to come see them, but she tried to push it down with all the other local flora that wanted to meet her. We can make new friends any time. You will like this play, promise.
16. He's in time for pizza. I think the kids have the base in place, and the drainage pipes. They're about to start the watering system and the walls of the second floor need to go on.
17. Again the vines were making kissing noises in Gwen's head. This is why I can't do anything serious with you around! she scowled. Sorry... they sounded genuinely sorry for a brief moment but like most children they soon found another thought to occupy themselves with. "I'm sorry, the vines are just... they make it hard to do almost anything romantic. It's like having a four year in my head all the time." Gwen looked back at the group. "I've got to get this pizza ordered before the ravenous hordes revolt on me." Gwen excused herself and took out her green iPhone, scrolling through an amazingly long list of contacts. "Gino, It's Gwen at Claremont. I need to alter the selection I gave you earlier... Yes... Two cheese, Two pepperoni, Two buffalo chicken, Two meatlovers, Two veggie... Oh, throw in some garlic knots and..."Gwen counted in her head as she paused. "Make it 8 chicken rolls with sauce on the side... Yes, you have my credit card info. Thank you."
18. Gwen was to Vicky's right as they walked up to the boys. She had chosen a light green peasant top, long flowing green skirt and green sandals with a heart shaped design near the toes Her red brown hair was curled slightly and fell around her body like a curtain. Her vines were out of sight and her face had no makeup yet was still radiant. I can do this, I can do this. Gwen chanted to herself. She was extremely nervous but managed to hide it well. Despite the tutoring sessions and coffee breaks Gwen had never been on a real date before. "Hello boys."
19. Gwen turned to Jeena and grinned from ear to ear. "I'm always up for some practice fighting." Play fighting?! the vines got very happy at the thought, they were really enjoying the being outside in the sun and seeing people and the thought of being about to do more was a wondrous new thing for them. "If I'm going to really do this hero stuff I'm going to need all the practice I can get." Gwen had to admit, the idea of fighting criminals was terrifying and thrilling all at the same time. Practice makes perfect! the vines mused. "Hey, where does someone get an oufit for crime fighting? is there an outlet store for that around here?" With thatGwen's phonerang and she looked at the screen. "Sorry guys, I have to take this." she turned and began heading towards the dorms "Hey mom! Yeah I landed safely... Yeah, I've already made a few friends, they're great and..." Gwen's voice got harder to hear as she walked away.
20. Gwen walked over with Jeena and listened as the girl whispered: Gwen looked a little shocked. "He's the boy I went to tutor last night" Gwen began and she could feel the color rising in her face. "We...we had a moment last night when we took a break from the biology tutoring, but-- I don't know I've never had a boyfriend before. I mean, I've seen people from some of the towns I've spent time in but it was always a passing fling." Touchy Touchy! the vines blurted out and started making kissing noises in Gwen's head. "Hey! Stop that!" Gwen said out loud and realized Jeena could hear her. "Sorry, the vines are being very immature right now."
21. Gwen gracefully avoided the attacks of the steel woman, using both her natural agility and the vines to easily duck and roll away. The vines lashed out at Steelshark again, planting a few more decent hits across the woman's metal body denting her. Bang Bang! Fun! Fun! the vines cried out as the hits laid upon the woman. At least someone was having a ball. Gwen took a moment to ponder what these woman could have against the Green Freedom project and if this was even their intended target.
